Eddie : Robin and my husband sometimes have sleepovers. In my bed. With me in it.

Steve : Name a more iconic duo than my crippling fear of abandonment and my anxiety! I’ll wait.

Robin : You and me!

Steve : *tearing up* Ok...

Robin : *clicks pen*

Eddie : Stop that.

Steve : Stop what?

Eddie : You’re talking about me in Morse code!

Robin : Yes Eddie, that’s what we doing. In our very limited time, we took a class on a very outdated, very unnecessary form of communication just so we could talk about you in front of you. Congrats, you figured us out!

Eddie : ...

*Later*

Steve, to Nancy : That’s actually exactly what we were doing.

Robin : Made you all playlists!

Robin : Eddie, yours has only heavy metal, and is dark like your soul.

Robin : Steve, yours has sad songs and blues to pair with your crippling depression.

Robin : And Chrissy has the ABBA Gold album.

Steve : I think i should adopt another kids.

Robin : No.

Steve : Why not?

Robin : Because by "kid", you mean traumatized teenagers, with who you were with was in life-or-death situations, and you already have 5 of them.

Steddie soulmate first words are fun and all but Eddie Munson will forever be a dramatic motherfucker, Steve has a full 3 page essay scrawled over his back about the dangers of capitalism and his dad hates it, you think Eddie would get the chance to speak to the Steve Harrington and wouldn't milk it for the most Shakespeare worthy performance you've ever seen in your goddamn life

Bonus points, Robin is his platonic soulmate and she'll ramble till the sun goes down so steve just has no space left on his body by the time those two are finished

Steddie meet cute where they both go to a queer costume party where you're supposed to dress as your type.

Steve wears leather and some quarter machine fake tattoos on his neck and arms. Eddie wears a pastel polo. They have not met but they spot each other across the room and make a beeline, basically making out in place of saying hello like 30 seconds after first spotting each other.

Robin is mad because that should've happened to her, except it's a bit hard when Barbarella isn't at the party but you came dressed as her. Steve did tell her to aim a bit more realistic and she called him unambitious, but who ended up with a date from the party?

(Actually Robin scores phone numbers from nearly every single girl at the party because she was dressed as Barbarella, come on)

Please hear me out, please, im not crazy, i swear (im slowly losing my mind).

It might not be like- the whole song, but some parts just hit right for them, yk? Especially the chorus, i want to kiss the chorus every time i hear it because is so good, im not kidding when i say that every time i hear this song i think about stobin.

Anyways, here is a short version of my vision:

Steve getting involve every single time with the Upside Down, being the shield, trying to make amends with his past self and Robin getting involve without knowing but staying anyways after it.

They both being queer in the 80's, a pretty hard time, all the homophobia around them but founding a safe space with each other.

They becoming that close and that fast because of share trauma, being the only ones to understand the scars that the russian torture gave them but not being able to explain all of that to everybody, and the fact that they used 'vine' just, chef kiss, because of the vines of the Upside Down.

I don’t even know how to explain this, just, they reassuring each other that it's the end, no more monsters but they both know it's not true, the insecurity of Robin of Steve leaving and Steve's insecurity of not being good enough for Robin.

Steve glances up to ask Eddie where he wants the box in his arms when his eye catches on something, frankly absurd, and he stops in his tracks.

Eddie has taken off his jacket, which was stupid to have on to begin with, and underneath is wearing a sleeveless tank top, the bottom of which is about three inches shorter than anything Steve has seen him in.

"What the fuck?"

Eddie glances up to see him staring. "What?"

Instead of answering, Steve sets the box down and marches over to him. He grabs the bottom of Eddie's shirt and lifts it up to his armpits.

"What is happening?" Eddie asks while trying to squirm out of Steve's reach.

"Are you hot? When the fuck did this happen? You have abs, Eddie. How long have you been hot under that stupid jacket?"

"What?!" He squirms some more, this time away from Steve's poking fingers.

"You have pecs. What is happening in the universe? You're supposed to be all noodle arms and Doritos gut. This isn't right."

Eddie finally manages to get away, yanking his shirt back down and then pointing a 'stay back' finger in Steve's face. "Hey, man, I'm not a piece of meat!"

"Piece of beefcake, apparently," Steve mutters.

Eddie chokes. "What do you care? You can't be jealous, you're as hot as you've ever been."

Why does Steve care? Thwarted expectations? It can't just be that, he's practically vibrating in place, skin all hyper aware of itself.

"You think I'm hot?" He asks instead of giving Eddie an answer he doesn't have.

He scoffs.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Steve puts both hands on his hips.

"It means I'm not getting reeled in by your fishing. Can we finish moving this shit now?"

Steve stares some more. His arms aren't as big as Steve's, but the way his bicep moves under his skin as he bends to lift the box Steve dropped, it's....uh...

Uh oh.

Eddie is hot, stamps itself into the fabric of Steve's universe.

Steve turns and marches back outside. "Robin!!!!"

season 3 / season 4

steve calls both robin and eddie babe. and those two have a bit of a rivalry going on. eddie thinks since steve is his boyfriend he's the reigning Babe. but steve called robin babe first and she says that makes her more special.

steve continues to call them both babe because he loves the attention and thinks it's hilarious.

steve: babe

robin and eddie at the same time: yeah?

robin and eddie, now glaring at each other: ...

everyone else at the table: ?

steve: can you pass me the salt?

robin and eddie: *hold eye contant for a second before they both scramble for the salt*

robin, all smug after winning: here you go

steve, pleased as punch: thank you

Elevator scene:

Ghost! Steve Harrington my beloved <3

Something about a dead Steve who stays as a ghost but not because he wants to stay, afraid of dying, but because he can't leave the Party alone. It just scratches a part of my brain...

I have a lot of au's for this, and au's for the au's, help.

Also, one of my favorite things to add about this, is the implied platonic soulmates stobin, Steve getting attached at Robin in every single one of them in one way or another, whether he can't separate himself from her/ being apart, or he could stay because he has some connection to her that make it possible.

Just- the heartbreak and grief that it would came from Steve's death but also not knowing how to deal with it because he is right there.

Not to mention that Steve may have already accepted that he would die young, but still grieving his own death and what could have been. I'm talking about his developing relationship with Eddie.

Eddie being devastated that he is falling in love with literally the ghost of a person, that they can't have something even when it's mutual, Steve might be a ghost now but he can't stay forever. Steve is dead.

Robin of course isn't having a good time but she already knew that Steve would have died for any of them. She's angry and sad and just wants to hug his best friend after she wakes up from a nightmare only to realize that she can't, even when he's right there.

She loves Steve so she will bear with the weight of his loss. She is happy he doesn’t know the pain of losing half of himself. For him, she will accept that he can go first, he just needs to wait a bit longer for her.

The spin-off everyone wants of stobin working different jobs but make it through all the canon. MAKE THEM BE FRIENDS EARLIER.

I love platonic soulmates stobin and them becoming friends before canon??? Yes please. Please give those two more years of happines and friendship and being stupid teenagers together.

Maybe not exactly friends friends at the beggining, yk, like the dynamic they had in scoops before everything went cataplum-boom-bla-aaaaaa. And bond like stray cats with interwined souls.

They working at Benny's dinner in the first season, being the ones to found El, freaking out and bickering the whole time about what to do because that’s a child, that’s almost 100% an abused and probably now homeless child, wtf.

I know Benny barely appeared like 10 minutes in screen MAX (and i'm being generous) but i love that man and in this universe he survives thanks to those one-braincell-sharing dinguses.

They being the ones to take care of El and protect her, they know they should call cps but hey, when they tried to call she found out and throw the phone with her mind so they supposed that isn't an option now.

Robin bringing a photo of Will by accident, Jonathan and Joyce sharing it with everybody just in case and El going "i know where he is" So they suppose are going to search for a missing kid now, ig.

They bumping into the Party and everything snowballing from there.

Steve still ends up hitting a demogorgon with a nailbat btw. And losing their jobs. How? Idk, probably they quit because the feds are keeping a close eye on them and they don't want to make trouble for Benny, who knows. (The real reason is that Robin accidentally broke the machine to make milkshakes and is too afraid to tell Benny so they run off before someone figures it out)

Then they went to get a job at the Hawk, i know that in Rebel Robin it said she worked there for a while but i'm not sure when or in what so let's just say it was at this time.

You can think in a lot of little things they would get up to, like annoying couples in the middle of make up sessions, eating the pop corns that nobody bought at the end of their shifts, snuck in movies that nobody went to see when they have slow shifts and laugh out loud for how bad they are, etc.

Then the second season happens and the mall is open. The Hawk has to fire people because there’s not enough money and ended up being Steve and Robin, who had guess.

Now everyone knows what happen after that, scoops ahoy and family video.

Just let them be silly in different jobs together.
