I’m curious since I’ve seen people give him the most random names, from Alfred Fucking Jones to names that are actually plausible like Alfred Franklin Jones.

I was playing Hearts of Iron 4 but with the Kisserreich mod (supposed to be the world if the central powers won ww1), so I decided to play as Germany right? Well after 3 hours I decided to play as Canada. I got so confused bc Canada for some reason is the leader of the Entente and the leader of the Commonwealth. I am now imagining Canada in Hetalia either being looked upon as a good person to be around by the commonwealth or just the next best leader they have. However, I don't think England is a good leader or strategist at all, yeah sure he was able to conquer a lot but control that many countries? Too much, no wonder he left canada. And besides in canon (not sure but I think i have to look this up later) Canada is a good strategist so it would make sense to make him the leader. Not only in sense of Hetalia, but also Real life, since Canada is the uh lets say peaceful country. (Also thank you guys for the likes and reblogs! If you guys have any historical headcanons for the hetalia characters, or any headcanons i don't mind, then go for it and say it! I'm interested in any historical moment and any character!)

I feel like England has kind of lost the dread and fear they once felt when America's birthday comes up. Thanks to France and other countries basically giving em some free-range therapy and consoling England only sulks for 2 days instead of the whole month of July.
Though America comes across as completely oblivious to this fact, I think they are very VERY aware of this. Like during the party for America's birthday, they like pull England aside just to say that they are the best parent a little colony could've asked for despite all the trouble. It makes England cry rivers and they spend the whole night crying to France about their favorite little bastard child.
England always feels the need to spoil America on their birthday, getting them something they know America will feel a deep connection to.
England then will say something along the lines of "Well, I know what you actually like, so I thought this would be meaningful." And it makes America feel a bit emotional. They don't show it to the crowd of other countries but the moment that America and England are alone 100% America is going to break down a little.

A Hetalia Headcannon Fo' Today -
I'd like to think that China has a sphinx cat and NOBODY (not even Japan or Russia) knows how old the thing is. It has so many wrinkles, and hates anybody besides China. The cat has the craziest death stare, and won't let any being clean it besides China, too. It acts like a complete sweetheart to China, but will go bat-shit if not accompanied by them.
This cat is the only pet banned from bring your pet to the meeting day every year (Ever since China tried to sick the cat on America, Lmao.) And China is forced to bring their other pet, a Kunming Wolfdog with a much better (not much better) temper.
Funny Ameripan scenario
Japan always seems so uninterested when visiting America in their home country. They always seem so neutral about everything, even the cool monuments. But, the MOMENT America goes to Japan in their home country America finds a room FILLED with American stuff. This is how America finds out that Japan is a complete westaboo and secretly buys assortments of American stuff.
Ameripan is so interesting because I feel like Alfred/Amelia would tiptoe around being fully romanticly open while Kiku/Sakura would be so blatant about it. Like Alfred/Amelia would bring Kiku/Sakura chocolates and be like "Hey, if you ever wanna hang out, I'm free for the next 3 days!" And Kiku/Sakura would be like "Ah, I see. Our date will be tomorrow at 8am. Do not be late, America." And It would catch Alfred/Amelia off guard so badly because they aren't used to being so forward all the time.
By the way, I headcanon rusame as a exes, who are still attracted to each other. And it kills them both. In my head, from Alfred's side it's more like "Please fuck off, it's already hard for me". From Ivan's side it's "Either you come back to me, or I press the red button."
Fun Hetalia Headcannon
Alfred is way more northeast than Amelia. He totally hangs out in the woods and bird watches. He would totally have a small cottage on a lakeside in north Dakota that he goes to whenever he's feeling stressed about stuff. Alfred would totally have the random ass ability to catch salmon with his bare hands or carve knifes out of wood. Amelia on the other hand, is like the stereotypical Texas/Florida girl. Every other day when she's not ruining Arthur or Matthew's day she's out in Texas or Arizona admiring the desert atmosphere. She would totally be infatuated with the numerous ghost towns sprinkled around New Mexico and Arizona. On that same note, Amelia goes feral for western wildlife, wanting to own as many gila monsters as she could (But she wouldn't though because Arthur would flip his shit if he found out she got one.) She would be an expert on how to get water out of cacti or how to spot out venomous desert lizards/snakes.

In Ukraine, people are commonly religious, specifically belong to the Orthodox or Catholic churches. There are also Muslims and Greek Catholics, people of Judaism and occasionally Protestants and Buddhists. Nevertheless, (several sources say) there are 0,3% of (mostly neo-) pagans among other. It was claimed neo-paganism was chosen by people: a) to act against modern and traditional Christianity; b) to recreate traditions and culture of the past (it can also be strongly related to the nationalism); Unfortunately, Ukrainian traditional paganism and some aspects of everyday life (before the baptism of Rus) remain unknown. Iceland, for instance, had saga tellers, writing and was a more cohesive country. That doesn't stop, however, people from believing in what they've been able to piece together and reinterpret. To condemn them for the fact that they are trying to step into the future and not forget the past would be great ignorance (it means I am normally tolerant, though...as an atheist, I have a hard time understanding any beliefs).
I have a headcannon that Russia and Austria genuinely get along and are actually good friends. Relations between the two have unfortunately dwindled in recent years, but they still remain friendly.
Throughout history, Austria and Russia had a surprising friendship, especially during the 1700's and 1800's.

Little headcanon
Even though the two have had rough patches, I imagine Austria still occasionally calls Italy to see how he’s doing bc some part of him still feels like a father to him. And Kugelmugel looks up to Italy as an older brother of sorts bc they were both raised by Austria (even tho by the time Kugelmugel was created Italy has already moved out and was a country).
Italy also slips up and accidentally calls Austria “father”, though it’s very rare.
Infection AU: Familial/Marital Relationships
Here is another update/info dump for this AU.
Like most AUs there are some changes regarding the characters. In this case the relationships between everyone, both Familial and Romantic.
I’m also going to be changing the names of the characters to match this (Mainly surnames, but a few might have different names altogether).
I would like feedback on this so I can make the appropriate changes before they are released as a final draft.
Now let’s start with the Familial Relationships, quick explanation first:
When I say that they are blood related, I mean that they share both parents.
When I say half related, I mean that they share 1 parent.
When I say that they are step related, I mean that they share neither parent.
Familial Relationships
1. England, Scotland, & Wales are blood related siblings, while Ireland & Northern Ireland are half related siblings (They share the same mother), Oldest to Youngest: Scotland, England, Ireland & Northern Ireland, Wales).
2. Sealand is the youngest brother of England, but was given up for adoption when he was an infant.
3. France & Monaco are blood related siblings (France is older).
4. America & Canada are blood related twins (Canada is older). They are the sons of France & an unnamed woman. France & the woman got divorced, with France taking Canada & the woman taking America. Afterwards, the woman got remarried to England who then adopted America after the woman passed from a terminal illness.
5. Molossia is the son of America & another unnamed woman.
6. Seychelles was adopted by France after the divorce (Seychelles is younger than America & Canada).
7. Australia & New Zealand are blood related siblings (Australia is older). They are the sons of England & another unnamed woman who then disappeared (Australia is a bit younger than America & Canada, while New Zealand is younger than all 3, but is older than Seychelles).

Infection AU Updates
So it might be a hot minute before I post anything.
This is due to trying a new art style for the characters, along with redesigning the info cards for the virus & characters.
I’m also working & doing some research to improve the concept of the virus, including information regarding: Symptoms, Probability for Infection & Factors that could effect Probability, Variants & Mutations of the Virus, Origin, How it 1st Spread & How it Spreads, & the overall story.
However I feel bad for making you all wait, so I’ll drop some information regarding the Reach Virus:
The Probability for which variant you’ll get is based on the Blood Type.
Each Variant will have its own set of Mutations, some that could be seen as a “Positive Defective”.
The “Creator” of the Virus is someone we all know.

The Reach Virus: The Status of the Allied Powers

Small Reach Update & Information
As shown in the previous post, I’m creating an infection/outbreak AU for Hetalia.
I will say that updates will be a bit slow, since I’m gonna try & do multiple pictures/comics to show the characters’ statuses during this AU.
I’m currently working on the status pages for the Allied Powers.
While waiting, I can answer any questions you all may have regarding this AU.
I’m also gonna give a bit more information about the virus & its effects.
Q: How is the virus transmitted?
A: During the testing phase, this virus would have been in a gas state & be released similar to tear gas. However with the Variant A infected, it would be transmitted by any bodily fluids; so biting, any infected fluids entering open wounds, or injections. With Variant B infected, it would be transmitted by spores, either by inhalation, or entering the body through open wounds & bodily orifices.
Q: How does it affect the Countries?
A: The countries can still get infected like their citizens, however the progress of the infection will vary depending on much of their population is infected. Less infected = slow progression -OR- More infected = fast progression.
Q: Why does it affect certain organisms?
A: The creatures/plants that are affected by this virus all have something in common: they share DNA with humans! Plus it’s funny to imagine an infected banana.
Q: When does this take place?
A: Definitely takes place in the 2020s, but is not specified during the series.
Hetalia Infection AU: The Reach Virus Explanation
Hetalia Infection AU
I wanted to introduce a possible AU for Hetalia revolving around an outbreak, aka “Zombies”.
I’ve seen a lot of MLP Infection AU on YouTube which sparked this interest, plus I like adding horror to non-horror characters.
I’ll be creating another post going over the virus/parasite/disease like its symptoms & origins, along with the status of the countries during said outbreak.
I’ll do polls on who the main cast should be, along with who are “survivors”, “infected”, and “deceased”.
I’ll try to make this into a little series, and yes, I’m putting my OCs that I made for this fandom into this AU as well.

THE CHILDREN YEARN FOR THE FANART OF UKRAINE
pov: You’re Poland; its 1620s and those "free armed folk" to the East, some of whom occasionally take part in wars on your side, have been more and more rebellious lately. You ride up to check what’s the deal — and as you pass one of the Cossacks, as they call themselves, the guy looks suspiciously similar to Ukraine herself…

1569. Lithuania had never been fond of Unia Lubelska that would unite the lands of the Grand Duchy with the Polish Republic. Yet Poland suddenly annexed Ruthenian – Ukrainian parts of the Duchy, using this move to pressure Lithuania back to negotiation tables.
Thus the era of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth began.
For mainly Orthodox Christian Ruthenians, it only meant more tension with Catholics and szlachta nobles who realised they now acquired more serfs up for grabs.
There is no wonder then, that Ruthenians quite rapidly "cossack’ed" (покозачились) in such conditions. Many joined either free warrior communities or the rejestrowe wojsko zaporoskie under the polish crown’s service, but still able to do a fair deal of whatever the hell they wanted. Including uprisings against Poland, 1591-3 and 1594-6; allying with the Poles to almost(😭) burn Moscow to the ground in 1618; and occasionally raid Turks and Crimean Tatars.
But more importantly, paving the way for a powerful warrior state, autonomous from the Polish Republic by 1649, – Cossack Hetmanate (aka Hetman’schyna, Ruthenia, or simply Ukraine – all those + more names used at the time) – which famously takes its origins in Ukraine being pissed off.
The initial headcanon was that Ukraine ran away from the Commonwealth sometime after Lublin and pretended to be a guy to live amongst Cossacks and lead her raids and battles. Hetalia Ukraine Headcanon #2 – or, rather, my take on Ukraine in Hetalia canon.
upd: I might have worded it a bit shitty, but the entire purpose of this post is that „canon/common fannon“ uwu crybaby Ukraine is bulshit and fuck canon we ball anyway. That I will be re-creating her character the way I want, and that‘s literally it. Damn. Pls don‘t misinterpret things, I‘m not defending Himaruya or anything
This is something that has to be clarified before I proceed, and even before I answer to any further asks.
I think of Ukraine in „canon Hetalia" as Russia's perspective, what he tells others about Ukraine and what he wants them to think of her, for his own purposes.
Because, if you recall, the episode where she is introduced (Axis Powers, ep 42), it is Russia telling England about her. Just like episode 43, it's Russia's memories and perspective. I hate that this fact is often overlooked, as it makes total sense for Russia to want others to see Ukraine as a weak crybaby that is dependant on him. In fact, this no shit is the attitude russians have to ukrainians. Almost inferior, (quote) unable to fend for themselves. It is not cute. It is very much toxic. The scarf moment is extremely fucking funny. Because, (and again, this is Russia's memories), Ukraine gives him her favorite scarf. But what people overlook, is that in return she asks (in dub) FOR CONTROL FROM BLACK SEA TO POLAND. HER TERRITORIES. THIS- THIS IS NOT A CUTE MOMENT. SHE IS TRYING TO GET AWAY. AS SHE ALWAYS HAS. FOR CENTURIES. Or, in sub, she asks for „inheritance rights to Kyivan Rus", so again, reclaiming a part of her identity. After which, russia concludes that maybe they've never been close at all. srsl I wish russia realised that in real life and fucked off already
To me, this is the first moment that shows that there is much more to Ukraine than what we see, and that Russia must in no way be trusted on his word when it comes to her.
Especially since In her next appearence, Gakuen Hetalian Newspaper Club part 1, Ukraine is nothing like that. She wants to join the choir club, where the baltic trio and others are, and we find out that the choir is targeted by the so-called „soviet club". Lmao. Nor she is in any of the Halloween episodes she appears in subsequently. Moreover, in the 2013 haloween series, Ukraine is shown dressed up as a reference to a Ukrainian(!!!) urban legend about a ghost train. So, she is not afraid to express her identity even at that point. Yes, she is emotional, but not a complete mess of a crybaby whose every 1 in 2 words is „Russia". Which further backs my theory.
The latest appearence, where in Chapter 389 of Hetalia world stars, Ukraine asks Lithuania to „sent spare paper Russias" to her if he ever gets any, because, quote „THIS RUSSIA IS OBEDIENT, QUIET, AND LISTENS TO WHAT I SAY".
Does this sound like a weak crybaby Ukraine whom Russia was describing to you?
No. That's the point.
Btw the only point in history I can think of where she could be referring to when she says it's „like we've gone back in time", is 7th - 10th century; when the principality of Suzdal (later: Muscovy→Russia) was just freshly colonized by Kyiv and Polatsk (later Ukraine and Belarus) and was paying fiefs to them. Which is like, literally 40 years before Suzdal’s prince plundered and burnt Kyiv down in 1169. A first russo-ukrainian war for you.
So, even from "canon hetalia", the idea of Ukraine's character that this fandom often percieves her as derives mostly from Russia's POV. Which is sad, ironic (represents the influence of russian propaganda irl), but also thanks fuck, this means we see so little of her that her personality can be easily interpreted in a multitude of ways that reflect history and reality way better
Hetalia Ukraine Headcanon #1: hair colour
…or new unexpected and un-asked for series, where I yap in detail about one headcanon on physical appearence, personality or history of my Ukraine interpretation at a time
This has been a thing that confused the hell out of me for ages, because her hair colour in the anime & official art exists on a spectrum from grey to white to blonde to ash blonde to yellow ??? (which may or may not be due to an art style change and had hapenned to 75% of characters at least) but REGARDLESS, I decided to put a twist on it
So, in my vision, her hair colour is best-described as «світло-русявий натуральний колір волосся»; which would, as per most suitable photos I found on the internet, loosely mean this:
So, you see; blonde, but not really blonde; depends on the lighting; the best English equivalent to «світло-русявий» my brain could think of was a borderline between «dark blonde», «light brown» and «ash-blonde», which coincidentally could all be applied to describe Ukraine’s hair in different depictions at different points
Furthermore, many Ukrainians on my experience would describe their hair as «русяве», ranging from темно-русяве for darker colours, to світло-русяве for lighter, to the point where it seems like a safe option in case your hair is not exactly dark or not 100% light and you are not sure what to reply. And even in folklore you’ll find a «руса коса до пояса»; «русява коса – дівоча краса»; or occasionally hair being compared to gold as well, i.e. «ой у полі жито, а в дівчини коса золота», translating too «there was wheat in the field, a girl had a golden braid» (more to come on her hairstyle!!)
by the way WHEAT. YET ANOTHER WAY I LIKE TO THINK OF HER HAIR COLOUR, is that it has the colour of wheat

And finally — Ukraine’s русявий hair colour changes slightly throughout the year! In the summer, when she gets lots of sun, it bleaches Ukraine’s hair a bit (UV light breaks down melanin in the hair blah blah blah); moreover it looks lighter in contrast to the skin tan she gets (again, we’ll get to this later); compared to winter when the tan fades and the hair would look visibly darker due to less sun exposure. And I mean like:
So, to sum up, I see Ukraine’s hair colour as „світло-русявий”, something closest to „dark blonde”, „light brown”, „ash blonde” or simply „wheat colour”, which tends to look darker in winter due to less sun exposure and lighter in the summer ;)
by the way fun fact, I’m NOT ignoring your guys’ asks; I just wanna draw something for each and do them justice, which happens to require some time (!!!)
