I know most people don't care about anything unless it has to do with the U.S. but can we please start talking about the Canadian election.

Please don't vote for Poilievre. He's basically the Canadian Trump and plans to put in place laws that harm trans youth, and lots of other shit.

Please vote istg this is the only way anything will get better. Poilievre has been kissing millionaires and billionaires asses. He'll make life even harder, and he loves Trump.

Reblogs are appreciated, especially if you aren't Canadian.

If there is one thing I hate homophobic people saying, it's that gay men are gross for having anal sex.

I get it, poop comes out of the anus. You sound like a 5 year old who just learned about sex: "ew, that's where you pee out of!".

Yes, the anus is "gross", just as many other parts of the human body are "gross". Genitals make pee, the vagina gets bloody every month, the mouth is a cesspool of spit and bacteria, skin is always covered in dead skin cells and makes sweat, but nobody ever complains about them being gross, because we have a novel concept called WASHING and HYGIENE. Homophobes always say that "it will never be clean, it will always be covered in shit", which is just plain untrue. It's fallacious and hypocritical to treat this particular part of the body any differently, and is clearly just an excuse to paint homosexual men as disgusting and degenerate.

And just to be clear, yes, I know that not all gay men have sex anally, and I'm not saying that everyone has to find it arousing themselves. I'm just saying that we really need to drop this stigma around anal.

A message to everyone who is against Trump in the U.S,; don't give up.

I understand that statement may seem cliche and useless to many people. But everyone needs to understand the significance it holds.

I am heartbroken about the election results in the United States. But I will not stress how important it is to stay strong, and not give up on our democracy. I won't tell you it's not terrifying.

But we can't stop fighting for the rights of ourselves and others. No matter how hopeless it may seem at the moment, we must work together to maintain democracy in America.

If you feel like it's not worth it to keep trying, think of the genocide against the Palestinians, which will only reach new extremes under Trump's presidency (he has said he wants Netanyahu to be even more aggressive and tough on Palestine than he already is being—sit with that for a moment.) the transgender people who won't receive the affirming care they deserve, the people of color who now have nearly no protections against racism and police brutality, the children who won't have access to the education they need, who won't be protected against rapists and gun violence, the people who will not be able to get abortions no matter how dire their situations are, the legal and illegal immigrants who will be deported, the Ukrainians who will now longer have protection from America against the Russian invasion in their country. And there is so much more, so much more that we won't even see coming.

However, we can still do things to make a difference. Go to protests, educate yourself and others, donate to Palestinians/charities that help Palestinians and other people in need, volunteer at organizations that help women travel to different states to have legal safe abortions, flood your congressmen, representatives, mayors, governors, anyone in our government, with letters and complaints.

Use your voice! Remember, you have free speech no matter how much you are made to feel like you don't.

Now is not the time to worry about hurting anyone's feelings or being annoying. Be a bother. Force everyone who is using their power to ignore you and your rights to notice you.

Don't be scared to aggressive as you fight against the fascism that threatens our country. We cannot and will not allow this nation to slip further into hate, homophobia, transphobia, racism, sexism, white supremacy, xenophobia, misogyny, and anti immigrant ideology any more than it already has.

We cannot afford to be selfish or weak. Even if your state has voted to add protections for women and trans people in their state constitutions, doesn't mean you're safe. Do you think Trump won't do everything he can do outlaw these rights everywhere eventually? Fight and keep fighting. For everyone.

This may seem dramatic to some. I've heard the argument "Trump won't follow through. He's not being serious. He won't actually try to become a dictator", several times. Wake up! He has presented these intentions time and time again. Take his words at face value. He will strip people of their rights, especially if we actively chose to ignore his clearly communicated intentions. Do not think he won't do everything in his power to pass Project 2025 and other hateful, controlling, unconstitutional policies.

Believe it. But also believe in hope. It's easy to feel alone during this time. Remember, however, that there are millions of people behind you, and we can keep it that way if we remind ourselves and each other that we are fighting together and we will not give in.

No matter what, do not give up on our country and every single citizen that still needs our protection and support.

“It’s Not That We’re Fighting For Special Rights Just For Us. We’re Fighting For The Same Rights.”

“It’s not that we’re fighting for special rights just for us. We’re fighting for the same rights.” — Jim Obergefell

Nine years ago today, the landmark Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges recognized a simple truth: love is love.

This decision ruled that all states must license marriages to same-sex couples and recognize marriages lawfully performed out of state. Obergefell v. Hodges guaranteed marriage equality in a monumental ruling for the LGBTQIA+ community. 🏳️‍🌈

As predicted, they're coming for Obergefell.

Idaho has, today--01/01/2025--asked the US Supreme Court to revoke Obergefell v. Hodges, and strike down the legality of gay marriage.

Life I guess?

I fucking hate my family rn, my grandma is a bitch who destroys everyone’s life. My aunt is an alcohol addict and doesn’t care about anyone, my brother has a aggression problem and hurt my mom really bad, and my stepfather is a mix between my mom and my grandma.

Also we’re not talking about my biological father cuz just nope.

And to top this, my mom has depressions and is having a bad week taking all out on me.

How do I cope with it? Well guys, I grew some balls (imaginary ones cuz I’m a girl) and just don’t bitch about it, sure I have bad days too but it’s 2018 bitch we deal with our problems.

Question: Who established gay rights? People: I think it was the educated, smart, diligent, passionate gay men and lesbians who are on historical record organizing massive events, lobbying, creating massively impactful self funded activist campaigns, writing etc. TRAs: WRONG! It was coked out and drunk tranvestite prostitutes. You owe everything to them. Sure there's no historical record of them like, doing anything but we have gay rights because of them. Ohhh okayy.

“All the gays want is to groom my children! They are dangerous to kids! They hate children!”

- A lesbian saw your son struggling, and remembered what it was like to be young and autistic and overwhelmed by her emotions, so she sat down with him every day and helped him until his feelings wasn’t so scary anymore.

- A lesbian was the one who your daughter finally trusted enough to reveal the abuse she was going through by her father when she was at his house and she tried her best to get her help and always be a safe space for her.

- A lesbian overheard your daughter being told by her classmates that she couldn’t play dolls because the dolls weren’t of her race, so she went and bought a dozen barbies of all different races to show her that she belonged.

- A lesbian was the one who you knew you could count on to retrieve your babies when you let people pass them around at church. You knew that she’d keep an eye on them even if she didn’t know you personally. Everyone in that tiny church knew her for it.

- A lesbian defended your son from being harassed on the bus (by other mothers!) and was late to work making sure he was safely on his next bus heading to the food bank.

- A lesbian was your waiter today and she made your baby laugh while she was setting your table and she already knew how to keep all the dangerous items out of reach without you even having to ask.

All anecdotes I could pull off of the top of my head from my own life. I love children, while I don’t want any of my own (and can’t even have ‘em due to infertility anyway) and my connection with them is very odd as a butch lesbian woman. People tell me that my purpose in life as a woman is to have children, and people from the same demographic claim that I only exist to hurt their children. The reality is that, whether you like it or not, gay people exist in the real world and often take on beloved and pivotal roles in your life and your children’s lives that you don’t even realize. We’re here and we always have been, and we’re surprisingly just as normal and human as you are.

What About My Right To Participate My Future Significant Others Health And Life Is ‘Novel’ What This

What about my right to participate my future significant others health and life is ‘Novel’ what this man takes as a privledge he sees as a right for himself and if this isn’t some crazy hypocritical bull shit I don’t know what is. They’re really coming for our rights just because they hate us. They don’t care about freedom of religion they just hate us. People’s opinions on my marriage shouldn’t be more important than my marriag. What are they going to do? Invalidate marriage certificates in states that don’t choose to keep same sex marriage legal? This is beyond insane
