I was thinking about how we’re all treating 2025 like it’s a magic spell, like flipping the calendar will fix everything. It reminded me of an old story about a farmer on the border between Russia and Poland. For years he didn’t know which country his land belonged to and when he finally found out it was Poland he celebrated no more brutal Russian winters. But the winters didn’t care about borders. The snow kept coming same as always and it’s the same with a new year. My family in Gaza doesn’t get a break just because the calendar changes. The hardships continue and so does the unbearable weight of not knowing. Two of my cousins were taken by the IDF a week ago, and we still don’t know where they are. Not knowing is unbearable. “My name is Eslam from Gaza, I’m 29 years old, and I’m a children teacher from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip. a mother of two daughters, Hanaa 5 years old, and Alma, 10 months old. My husband Rasmi is the director of 3 language and training centers. In this war, our house was completely destroyed and razed to the ground, and my husband’s centers were blown up. He lost his job, and we were completely displaced, and we are now homeless and jobless, My two young daughters constantly suffer from diseases due to malnutrition and water pollution.
Danger and death surround us all day and all night. We have lost everything and depend on donations to survive and, most of all, to have any hope of escaping this genocide and evacuating to safety in Egypt. The cost of daily living continues to rise significantly in Gaza - imagine that we cannot find the type of milk for our daughter because of its high price. There is no kind of detergent and this is the cause of skin diseases for my two little girls. We bought a piece of soap for $30! ، and detergent is 100$.

I was dreaming of a wonderful life to spend with him...a life not full of death, fear, destruction and deprivation...I wanted to fill his room with toys and his closet with clothes, and I wanted to buy children's books for him, but I couldn't...the war came and the wishes were gone...my goal became to provide him with milk and food. I can barely afford anything. Everything is expensive and we no longer have income to enable us to buy his needs. Kram eggs have been deprived of many of his basic needs. He has been deprived of safety and stability..No, fruits, or meat.
There is nothing but fear that fills my son's eyes as soon as he hears the voices around him. He does not realize what It happens outside, but he feels and sees it in our eyes when he looks at us.I cannot protect myself and my son. Help me to save my son yousef. I am Ahmed Halas from the besieged North Gaza, I have created my campaign to help my family and save them from the suffering they are living. Our lives, hopes and ambitions have been destroyed, our livelihood has been destroyed, we have lost dear friends and many relatives, our house has been completely destroyed, we live in a plastic tent in the middle of an UNRWA school and we suffer from the heat of the sun which causes headaches, migraines, body allergies and many diseases. There is no food, water, medicine or basic life requirements and the prices are terribly high, we cannot afford to buy anything.
In the meantime, this fundraising campaign has been started so that people can donate so that we can regain momentum in case the unfortunate circumstances cannot be fixed. Ahmed Halas and his family have already registered and are likely to be called to leave soon. This money is for their evacuation. Let's aim to evacuate them all together!!!

I have two brother who are studying medicine in Egypt. They have only completed one year and have a long way to go. Don't they have the right to achieve what they dream of? We are about to lose hope. Since last October, Ahmed and his family have faced constant displacement and hardship.
They have lost their income and currently live surrounded by extreme temperatures, scarcity, and disease. Hepatitis B and various skin diseases ravage their health, and any sort of sanitary products are almost impossible to come by.
Ahmed's parents are also both severely ill; they are both suffering from cardiac diseases which desperately need treatment.

This war has really taken a toll on us. It's destroyed our bodies, our lives, and our souls. It has been so sad to see our homes destroyed, our belongings taken from us, and our beautiful places ruined. It has also changed our situation for the worse. We were living a pretty good life, you know? Peaceful, loving, and full of life. But then, we found ourselves in a really tough spot. Hunger, fear, and terror have become our new normal. My kids and I, along with my extended family, are struggling to make ends meet. We don't have the basic necessities of life, and our living situation is pretty rough. We're in these old, falling-apart tents. It's so hard to know what to do when winter comes. We'll be soaked in the rain and wind, and I'll be at a loss as to how to keep my family safe, from the bombing and from the winter.🥹

Hello, I am Farah Kamal from Gaza, I am 21 years old, a medical student at Al-Azhar University, we are a family of 5 people, I am talking to you from the midst of genocide, famine and displacement😭😭, before the war we had a beautiful house, a school where driving was taught and a big supermarket, our life was full of happiness, security and comfort. 💔Now after the war, unfortunately, 😭we have lost everything. We lost our house in the blink of an eye, the school burned down, 💔the supermarket was destroyed and my father lost his source of income. 😭Now we are homeless, without money, and when we were displaced from the north to the south, our belongings and clothes were taken and my father was taken at the checkpoint and we do not know anything about him😭😭. The most difficult thing is that we were left without my father. 💔💔There is no one who can work to provide for our needs. My older brother is now in high school and we cannot provide him with books or buy them, 😭💔and I cannot complete my studies in the Faculty of Medicine because of the high fees😭. My little brother needs clothes and healthy food, and my mother suffers from chronic diseases and has become severely weak in her eyesight and we cannot provide her with treatment. 😭I cannot describe to you the extent of our suffering at this time, as there is no healthy food or clean water and fear and danger do not go away around us and we are exposed to death at any time. 😭💔We tried to travel, but unfortunately they were demanding that each person pay $7,000 and we did not have this amount to travel and escape death and bombing.😭💔 We are still suffering to this day. Samer suffers from bipolar disorder, and his stability relied on daily medications including LeponeX (Clozapine), Depalept Chrono (Sodium Valproate), and Lithium CO3 (Lithium Carbonate). These medications helped stabilize him, but without them, his health has worsened significantly. Every moment is crucial, and the pain and worry are relentless. 😞
There is no place for my brother in the hospital, and we cannot secure the treatment he needs. Imagine being unable to help your own brother as he struggles, without a way to provide the medicine he needs to recover.

The genocide in Ghazzah has caused permanent effects on those who survived it. Many Ghazzans have lost their homes, their health, and their loved ones. Many survivors are still at risk of more serious health effects due to being deprived of food, shelter, and medical care for so long. However, with swift action and support for Ghazzans, you can help them heal and avoid more suffering.
One person you can help is Suham Bader. Suham's arm was injured over a year ago, but she was not able to recieve treatment for it as her family was forced to flee their home. Without medical treatment, her bone fused incorrectly. During a year of suffering through cold and pain, Suham's condition has kept getting worse. Her parents and her uncle @hashembadr are very worried for her. If Suham does not recieve surgery soon, she will lose her arm entirely.
Hashem and his family have been fundraising for almost a year now, but they have only reached 14% of their goal so far. They urgently need funds for Suham to get the surgery she require, but donations keep stopping for days at a time. They still need to raise around £4900 to cover the price of surgery and the transfer costs.

This is Mahmoud Al Sharif (@mahmoud-sharif), a married man with three children. His wife Soha recently gave birth on August 12th, 2024 - just ten days ago as of the making of this post.
The other children in Mahoud's family are Retal (12 years old), Joud (11 years old), Nageh (8 years old), And Yusra (10 days old)
Despite continious challenges along the way, Mahmoud himself was able to start a project of his own, a project that was 12 years in the making...
