As often as Herman had witnessed the slaughter of animals and fish, he always had the same thought: in their behavior toward creatures, all men were Nazis. The smugness with which man could do with other species as he pleased exemplified the most extreme racist theories, the principle that might is right.

“I can’t be vegan, I love cheese”
Dairy industry is as evil as meat. No less harm for animals. Does it look natural that calf can’t drink milk so you can taste your piece of cheese?
GO VEGAN.
If you are against animal cruelty (which any decent human is) than you should be a vegan. The means that the human race uses to kill farm animals for food is inhumane. Look at any picture of a slaughterhouse, you’ll understand.
Unless you are vegan, pro-immigration, anti-conversion therapy (centers that LGBT+ children are sent to to be ‘corrected’), against children being sold into sex slavery, etc, than you are not pro-life. You are pro-birth. Please remember this.
vegan people fr be eating plant carcass out there lmaooooo
This is why I eat honey as a vegan: not because I don’t value insects as animals, but because it is generally not produced through cruelty. In general, the bees can leave if they’re being mistreated. I have no problem enjoying the fruits of their labor, because they’re getting something out of it (a sheltered hive, defense and support from human beekeepers, et cetera) and they can leave. It’s not “eating/using something that comes from an animal” that’s the problem, it’s harming or mistreating the animal to get it that I take issue with.
vegans make peace with honey
no shut up do it
I feel like my brain just got heavier.

If you care even a little bit about climate change, animal abuse, world hunger, deforestation, human health, the oceans, you really really really need to take a long hard look at what you eat. As much as people don’t want to admit it, animal agriculture is killing the environment, animals, and humans, and the longer society refuses to admit it the more damage is going to be done.
People who refuse to try a vegan burger because it’s made of plants and not dead animals are weak af
Happy Earth Day!! Tick off your progress of your zero-waste journey! How many do you do already and how many will you be able to do by the end of the year?
Going zero waste is something that everyone adapts to differently according to what they have available, so do what you can, be aware and spread the word!
I wanted to add a link to every product, and I also need to add some other things but if you want to help me out that’d be great!
to help make a difference in climate change and to not contribute to human and animal suffering as much as possible i:
- am vegan in all aspects - do not have a car - walk and bike as much as possible - use public transportation when i can not - use reusable bags - use reusable water bottles - use reusable utensils - use reusable containers - refuse plastic at all opportunities - buy recycled/fair trade clothing as i can - try my hardest to be zero waste - throw away NO food - recycle everything i can - switched to having all of my energy come from renewable sources - appreciate all water i use - pick up trash - buy local produce when i can - forgo produce that uses many resources - donate money to vegan and environmental causes - live a minimalistic life - get furniture and appliances second hand if possible - sell and donate things i no longer use
does that make me better than you? of course it doesn’t. but i probably am doing better than you. what the fuck are you doing for the planet? do more.
Teach your kids to respect animals!
Teach your kids to leave animals alone if they walk away!
Teach your kids to put down an animal if they are struggling to escape!
It’s not that hard to teach kids that animals are living things and not toys!
I always make a point to buy carrots plastic bag free at the grocery store. It is a more expensive option, but I budget so I can make decisions like this. Then I store them in a jar with water so they don’t get all bendy and go bad sooner.
Vegan holding an asparagus like a cigarette: “meat? I haven’t heard that name in years”
-they implied everyone can/should be vegan, ignoring issues of poverty & health that make it impractical or impossible for many people
-they tried to make you feel bad about eating something
-they believe that the current animal abuse/environmental contamination/health crisis is caused by individual consumers rather than the manipulative capitalism of the meat and dairy industries
-they support PETA (eww peta)
-they asked you about the ingredients of a food to find out if they can eat it
-they asked if your group could go to a restaurant with a vegan option
-you asked them to explain why they are vegan and they answered
-they got mad when you made fun of their diet
i just love how by being vegan i am helping mother earth a little bit every day with every meal i take <3
It is important to understand that in some parts of the world, in some cultural and geographic subsets, it is not possible to be vegan because of very particular struggles being faced by those small groups totally unique to their particular situation in contrast with the majority of the human population.
It is also important to understand that those peoples’ struggles are not yours unless you are among them, and their realities are not the scapegoat for your unwillingness to do what is very much within your grasp in your more privileged situation.
i love seeing how me being vegan is changing the habits of people around me. and i dont just mean people going vegetarian/vegan. just the little things. like how for his birthday my little brother wanted vegan pancakes because he thinks they’re the best. or my mom only eating vegetarian at her work cafeteria. or my dad asking me how to make vegan parmesan.
my veganism has a real and tangible impact on those around me and that gives me so much hope and joy
We are, quite literally, gambling with the future of our planet - for the sake of hamburgers
Peter Singer, Animal Liberation
TBH saving the planet and the lives of thousands of animals is the best feeling in the world and I wouldn’t change it for mediocre bacon or steak. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
