ok so,,, hi

this is my first headcannon so don’t make fun of it :( srry it's short..

anyways

tom first asked you out on a date last week and you guys have been getting ready for it ever since

tom was nervous as hell but of course he never told you that

but you could tell from his sweaty palms and slight stutters lol

you were nervous too

tbh you’ve been wondering if tom would ever ask you out because you’ve been waiting for him to for a long time

but anyways, tom picked you up and spent five minutes just complementing you, all the way from the front door and until you guys were in the car

“god, you look so damn beautiful.” he whispered as he stared at you in complete awe

you smiled, your teeth biting your bottom lip as you tried not to smile too big

“tom, i’m in jeans and a sweater...”

you told tom not to take you any where fancy because you weren’t that type of girl. you wanted to have a relaxing picnic or go to the park and walk around enjoying fresh air. you hated that stereotype fancy dinner bullshit. so you guys settled to just dress casual and go somewhere calm instead

tom reached over and kissed your cheek tenderly, “i know, i know. you still look gorgeous, darling.”

sis you almost lost it when he called you “darling”

but you kept your cool and responded with a smart remark

the car ride was actually short but for you and tom, it felt like ten hours filled with you guys just laughing, blasting music, and tom getting honked at for staring at you too long during the red light

when you and tom arrived to the park, he opened the door for you and grabbed the supplies out from the back of the trunk. you helped him carry some of the things while you made your way to a more secluded side of the park

it was more open and quieter. just as you wanted it

you and tom set up the supplies for the picnic, which included a large blanket, a pillow, and a basket full of tom’s homemade sandwiches and some wine

after tom finished setting up the last of everything, you frowned as you realized there was only one pillow and he was already using it, placing it behind his head

“tom, you forgot to bring another pillow!”

tom looked up to you from the ground and smirked, pointing to himself. “duh...you’re using me as a pillow.”

you rolled you’re eyes, but still and laid down next to him, using his chest as your “pillow” as he suggested. you weren’t entirely against the idea ;)

you loved this position actually. you could perfectly hear the fast beating of his chest, all while hearing the distant chirping of the birds. it was crazy how you made tom feel like he on top of the world, and vise versa.

your heart was beating just as fast. he held you tightly against himself, his chin just above your head as he rubbed small circles and patterns into your back

“tommy...”

“yes, sweetheart?”

you could feel your face warm up, snuggling yourself further into his body. “thank you for this.”

tom hummed, pulling you up to meet his lips softly. he kissed you tenderly, his hand still tracing your back while the other held your cheek. you couldn’t help but smile into the kiss, breaking it up and pulling away slightly, inches away from his pink lips.

you brushed a strand of hair off of his forehead, “ i’ll take that as a ‘you’re welcome.”
