I know we've all been having a lot of fun with the idea that Bill and Ford are bitter-exes-coded, but I just can't ignore the less fun, more sad interpretation. Ford's entries in BoB read so much like someone recovering from an abusive relationship- the fear that they will reenter your life, the desperate attempts to keep them away from your loved ones, the relief at realizing they don't have power over you anymore. He didn't tell anyone about it because he was ashamed at himself for being taken advantage of! He blamed himself! And then of course, there's this bit from the website:

And as much as I enjoy the shitposts, I just want to take a moment to appreciate this really heartwarming story Alex is telling about Ford's healing from what Bill did to him. And seeing Stan, Dipper, and Mabel supporting him in this makes me so emotional 🥹 He thought Bill took everything from him, but he was able to rebuild his life for the better. And all because he had his family to help him. UGH!
