If Rayemma is the supposed endgame, why are Emma and Norman’s interactions as intimate as they are? Where is the solid proof of Ray or Emma having feelings for each other?

I usually tag my Rayemma stuff as either Rayemma or I answer stuff. For future reference as I’ve answered stuff like this before so rather than reiterate what I’ve already said before, I have screencaps. And loads of them. 😂 Prepare yourself anon.

What I think of the Noremma ‘intimateness’:

As for why I think that Ray is the one of the two who has clear feelings for the other:

Harkening back to my whole TPN is similar to THG in certain ways, with Ray = Peeta, Emma = Katniss and Norman = Gale:

The symbolism Noremma’s use to say that Noremma will be canon, vs the Rayemma parallel.

Notice how the Noremma one isn’t as 'intimate’ as it looked back then, when compared to the Rayemma one from chapter 137. Ray is in the frame with them. Looks more familial in my opinion because of it. Not to mention Emma had just finished bargaining with Norman. Yet in the Rayemma one, it’s just Ray and Emma. They’re literally creating life together around them as well. Now that’s some bigger symbolism if you ask me.

I'm finally gonna start watching The promised Neverland, so drew Emma

I know that the mcyt characters aren’t exactly going to fit into the roles of the promised neverland characters but I think that tango would make a great don because don was uniquely close with conny and hit very hard by her death

so because of the ranchers I head canon that tango was closed with jimmy in this au and had a fit of that patented tango rage at what happened to jimmy and the fact that it was hidden from him

I’ve always loved the idea of Norman and Ray getting together during the search for Emma but not wanting to do much until they find Emma because they both love her as well and want her there. But I’m never sure how Emma losing her memories would said relationship and plans afterwords

Oooo Anon I don't know if you're the same person who sent this Norray ask but if you haven't read @salsae's (so what am I defending now?) I highly recommend it because I've essentially taken it as canon and reread it probably once a month.

Beautifully written with loving nuance, her work was (and still is <3) foundational for my interpretations of the trio when I first got into the series in 2021 and was searching for quality fanfic.

In regards to how Emma's memory loss would play into things, I think they'd all have good and bad days at first. A balance of being grateful they defied the odds to have a chance of creating a future they can be proud of together at all, of Emma being alive and well and living life with Alex, of being reacquainted with all the things big and small that made them fall in love with her and having the opportunity to love new ones. Of reconnecting with these two boys who for reasons her mind can't explain but her heart knows without a shadow of a doubt feel like home.

(Chapter 180)

Of perceived selfish grief over wishing Emma would regain her memories when a confused look is thrown their way after they reference something from their childhood (isn't it enough that she's there?). Of self-doubt that she'll ever be able to live up to the Emma everyone loved or relearn the language she sees the boys communicate without words, of seeing what she believes is a brief flicker of hope die in everyone's eyes when she reminds them of all the little ways she's not her (is it more cruel they found her instead of being able to believe their Emma lives on somewhere in distant lands?), of anger over having those memories just within her reach only for her dreams to deny her each time.

But as the days turn to months and the months turn to years, things get better. The sentiments Emma shares in chapter 180 hold true.

Only now today and tomorrow is by their sides.

I’m not even that much of a sound design enthusiast in general but I’m reading the goldy pond arc and I’m in absolute MOURNING just thinking about what we could have had (DO YOU KNOW HOW BADLY I WANTED TO SEE AN 11 YEAR OLD PUNCH HER FUTURE FATHER FIGURE IN THE BALLS???!?!????!)

Muijika’s theme fits her so perfectly I’m thinking about the other characters having their own

Would Yuugo’s be discordant at the beginning? Would that part play during his mental breakdown and fade out when he passes out? Would it get more orchestral and similar to Emma’s as it goes on? Would it be victorious and notable before you ever see the camera pan up to a smoking rooftop after he breaks leuvis’ds mask? Would it synchronize with Ray because he’s on the rooftop with him??

 Would his theme reference tea parties? Would it get more hopeful by the time it gets back to the bunker?? Symbolising that he accepts his new family??? WOULD IT BE IN TUNE WITH NAT’S COOL KING BALLAD?? WOULD IT PLAY WHEN EMMA WAKES UP FROM HER COMA??

Would it be complementary Lucas’s??Would they harmonize when they finally see each other again???

Would Oliver’s theme be similar to Emma’s to symbolize being leaders of their respective groups? Would it mirror Ray’s when he asks to be left behind???

Would the techno themes be more present whenever minerva is mentioned to foreshadow their technology being more advanced than anything they have had before (like in the testing rooms?)

WOULD THE MUSIC THAT PLAYS WHEN GOLDY POND IS PREPARING MIRROR THE TRAINING MUSIC THAT PLAYED FOR THE GRACE FIELD KIDS???

When Emma throws the axe at Luce would you be able to hear it slice through the air? The billow of Leuvis’s ridiculously dramatic cape? Could you hear the children breathing heavily as they run away? Would you only be able to hear jake, monica and theo’s running because violet and emma are used to hiding their footsteps????

Would Emma and Ray’s footsteps in the forest get softer and softer the more they learn and watch from yuugo?? WOULD THEIR FEET NOT CLICK ON THE CONCRETE??

Would Nous talk in an overlap with Nouma’s voice after he eats her? Would Nous’s scream of outrage be good enough voice acting to rival emma’s iconic scream from the first episode?? Would it sound so viscerally human for a moment you feel bad for them??

Would you hear rustles in the trees despite nous and noma aren’t moving to foreshadow paula and violet getting into sniping position??

Would the snap of the wires they set up for traps sound different when they spring them depending on how dangerous they are?

WOULD THE MUSIC THAT PLAYS WHEN THE MONSTERS ARE COMING BE LIKE SIRENS OR A DISTORTED/EERIE CHEERFUL VIBE??

Would the guns nigel specifically engineered have a different sound compared to regular bullets? Would Emma’s flash bullet have a shrill sound that freezes everything as the bullet hits leuvis in slow motion?

DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE ROTATING CAMERA ANGLES I WANTED TO SEE!!! UTILIZING THE POV SHOTS FROM THE FIRST SEASON ONLY THIS TIME ITS THE DEMONS BEING WATCHED!!?!??!

Would the scene when Emma gets stabbed and goes into an underwater dream state have more muffled music (maybe a mix of her own theme, Norman’s and Isabella’s lullaby) that gets louder and clearer the more she regains conciousness?

These are all incredibly specific and unrealistic expectations but I think I deserve to be a little delusional when it comes to this show

I’d love to hear any sounds you also would have loved to hear in tpn Season 2 (done right)!!!!

Yakosuko no Neverland

Jestem wielką fanką mangi. Czytałam ją tylko w wersji polskiej, ale każdy tom pochłaniałam z dużą radością, zazwyczaj więcej niż raz. I kiedy dowiedziałam się o anime, byłam bardzo podekscytowana.

Niestety, bardzo się rozczarowałam, a anime nie sprostało oczekiwaniom. Było bardzo pośpieszone i wycięło masę monologów wewnętrznych bohaterów, które były dla mnie częścią klimatu mangi. Niektóre z nich zostały zastąpione przez dialogi, ale większość z nich to po prostu ciche ujęcia na których nie dzieje się praktycznie nic. Nie wszystko można wyczytać tylko z twarzy postaci, a brak tych monologów spłyca ich charakterystykę. I to nie były wszystkie zmiany, jakie anime wprowadziło, które mogły mniej lub bardziej spłycić historię.

Z dobrych stron: animacja i grafika były przepiękne, a reżyseria i ustawienie kadrów zazwyczaj świetnie się sprawdzały. Muzyka naprawdę dodaje klimatu, a opening jest cudowny (chociaż to prawdopodobnie dlatego, że wykonuje go jeden z moich ulubionych zespołów)

Problem polega na tym, że w mandze wszystko działało lepiej. Nie jestem przeciwniczką zmieniania materiału źródłowego podczas adaptacji. Wręcz przeciwnie. Jednak jeśli już coś zmieniasz, zwłaszcza, kiedy starasz się zaadaptować całą historię tak dokładanie jak się da, to musisz być gotowy na porównania z materiałem źródłowym, gdzie masz całą serię innych rozwiązań i zabiegów fabularnych, które sprawdziły się inaczej. Nie zawsze lepiej, ale inaczej.

Yakosuko no Neverland to całkiem okej, może nawet dobre anime. Niestety, adaptuje świetną mangę, więc nawet ‘dobre’ w porównaniu wypada nie najlepiej.

I z tego co widziałam do tej pory, w drugim sezonie będzie prawie tak samo. Prawie, bo w drugim sezonie dużo mniej czuć było wycinanie materiału, chociaż to może być wina tego, że dawno nie wracałam do pierwszych tomów. Koniec końców, jestem rozczarowana, ale nie zaskoczona.
