I’m still recovering from the 8 page paper I had to write for class on Monday so have a bunch of unrelated doodles

Some facts about Astar:
Astar Magdalene (probably not his real name) / Age: 26 (maybe) / Currently residing in Mandela
Was born during a period where alternates had become common knowledge; exhibited "strange" behaviors as a child which resulted in his parents abandoning him for fear of him being an alternate
Put in the foster care system where he was passed from family to family; treated poorly in most & was abandoned several more times for the same reasons
Eventually managed to figure something out for work & bought a cheap home in Mandela; lived there for a year, battling a worsening mental state & periodically attempting suicide
One attempt, where he tried to drown himself when he was 25, was successful, and he was clinically dead for a while. While dying, he had a vision of Gabriel, who told him his life had been meaningless & that he was "finally waking up." Paramedics managed to revive him after a passerby called them
After that he became fascinated by alternates; he wants to know everything they know & more, about their biology, and what M.A.D. is. If his life didn't mean anything, then he has nothing to lose anyway
Spends most of his time working online (he runs a site selling handcrafted items mostly but does other things too), but often goes out at night to watch people & see if he can distinguish any alternates, or actively chasing alternate reports
After his near death he's gained the ability to sense the presence of alternates; he gets a strange rush which usually makes him excited
Most definitely neurodivergent (the "strange behaviors" as a kid was totally just early signs of it)
Is most comfortable around people his age or younger; has a deep distrust of any older adults and especially older men
Abnormally strong for his size & agile; doesn't resort to violence often but if pushed, can get extremely brutal

Why is alt!Cesar and Mark's friendship so wholesome?
Real!Cesar & Mark's is like the standard teenage boys' where they shit on each other, while alt!Cesar's over here threatening other alters who get a bit too close to his claimed and bagging to his (homophobic) coworker about his amazing roommate/friend
Human Cesar and Mark indeed had a friendship like any other pair of teen boys. Perhaps the ribbing was. A little too hard from Cesar at times, but Mark’s never had friends before, so he can’t blame him for not quite keeping up with the blows.
As for alt!Cesar…
…Perhaps he merely became exactly the kind of friend Mark needed.

Flower Fungal Infection AU (TMC)
‼️Takes place after Catalyst ‼️
The dead resurrect and are now mindless zombies covered in plants. The fungus builds up around wounds or certain places that caused the death. The fungus is a parasite, using the dead as hosts. The spores of the fungi are deadly toxic to alternates. Some alternates die, some hide, a rare few fight. The fungi are also deadly toxic to other species, especially humans. Inhaling the spores is fatal, as the fungus tear you from the inside out, turning you into a mindless zombie. Best advised wearing a mask when venturing outside.
The fungi can enter the body in a few ways. It can enter the lungs after inhalation, corrupting the lungs and taking over other organs slowly. It can also enter open wounds into the blood line, infecting a little quicker than through the organs. Early symptoms can be (but not limited to) coughing up bloody petals/leaves, sudden aggression, migraines, dizziness, hallucinations, a sudden urge to go outdoors in infected areas.
‼️The infected can be killed off. Alternates cannot get infected, they'd just die. You can prevent an infection before it starts by cutting the infection out within 3 days‼️

Adam Murray. Status: Alive (immune) but mentally unwell. Grieving.
Jonah Marshall. Status: Infected. Caged up to keep Adam sane.

Evelin Miller. Status: Semi-alive. Hiding in the Mandela County Police Department. Alone, dying of starvation.
Thatcher Davis. Status: Alive. Hiding with Adam and infected Jonah. The reason Adam hasn't done anything fucking stupid.
Ruth Weaver. Status: Dead. Was shot by Thatcher. It was a dark time.
Dave Lee. Status: Infected.
Stanley. Status: Alive, in hiding.
Lucifer. Status: Alive, also in hiding.

Hc body types that is also practice
Mark: Bigger guy, doesn’t go out much and eats irregularly. Has a soft body, but has equal amounts fat and muscle. Most of it’s hidden by his baggy hoodies.
Cesar: Opposite of Mark, his suits/shirts make him look bulkier. Actually rather lean, but with surprisingly strong shoulders. Skinnier waist, has a diverse diet with faster metabolism.
Jonah: Very average, not particularly fat or skinny. Has a pretty good metabolism but not very in shape because he bedrots and binge eats after smoking weed. Visible hair on forearms and chest, and grows stubble easily.
Adam: Long, lanky, and skinny (classic alternate build). Shirts are either too big on him but cover his torso, or don't fully cover his torso but fit his frame better. Deceptively strong for his size.
