Happy 54th birthday Mary McCartney! ❤️

“One of my earliest memories was my mum taking me to her little dark room in Soho. The sight of an image developing on paper in front of my eyes was magical. I really started to focus on photography when I left home and was living on my own in London. It was then that I really turned my main focus on the world around me. It suddenly clicked. I started looking for moments. That was the beginning of me taking it seriously.” -Mary McCartney

My mother shaped my view of the world and inspired me to embrace spontaneity and capture the unforced. To show with her is such an honor for me and validates my journey as a photographer.

“My mum and dad were both interested in photography, so I grew up subconsciously seeing a lot of photography in books and exhibitions and having it in my day-to-day life. In a way, I thought that was normal. It wasn’t until later that I realized that not everybody takes pictures all the time”. -Mary McCartney

‘Trust is a big thing in my photography. With all the people that I’ve picked for this exhibition, I would create a narrative in my own head. I can create a whole world around them. So, in this show, I’ve picked the images from my collection which I think will then evoke that feeling in the viewer.’ - Mary McCartney
