you decided to drop by the DX so you could buy a few snacks and hopefully see soda, your boyfriend. months have passed by since dally cheated on you, but you’ve moved on, not without encouraging words from the whole gang.
although they are still friends with dallas, they don’t approve of him cheating on you. dally’s been getting a ton of shit from the others and still hasn’t apologized to you.
you haven’t forgiven him for cheating on you, but you’ve gotten past the break up itself and not being in a relationship with him anymore.
it’s a mutual agreement that your relationship with soda is a secret, except steve, who knows because soda accidentally blabbed to him. the two of you don’t want dally coming for either or you, you being with one of dally’s friends and for soda being with his ex girlfriend.
because your mind was occupied the whole time you were walking to the DX, you hadn’t realized you arrived. as you begin to focus on the present, you open the door, flinching at the hotness of the metal.
you quickly walk in, sighing as you feel cold air envelope your skin. you look up to see steve grinning at you, his arms are crossed as he leans on the counter. he turns back and yells, “soda! your girl’s here!”
as you walk up to the counter, you hear footsteps as you see soda walking towards you and steve. he smiles at you, speeding up and walking to the front of the counter. he beams, “y/n! man, i’m so glad to see you after so long!” he wraps his arms around your waist, leaning down and placing his lips against yours.
when the two of you move away from each other, you look to see steve in the back, giving you and soda some time together. the two of you begin to talk, he guides you to behind the counter, patting a spot so you can sit there.
you hop onto the counter, swinging your legs as you listen to him talk. around forty-five minutes pass when you hear a bell ring, a sign that a customer walked in.
soda’s face turns pale as he avoids looking at you, you turn around. dally’s face is horrified, he yells “are you fuckin’ kiddin’ me, man!?” he points an accusing finger at soda.
“you guys broke up! you were in the wrong for cheatin’ on her, dally!” your boyfriend argues back. you stay silent as they continue to argue, backing up soda when needed.
steve stomps out from the back, raising his voice, “hey, what the hell is goin’ on?” he sets his eyes on dally and mumbles, “oh.”
“did you know ‘bout this, steve?” dally’s eyebrows are furrowed as his face turns redder by the second.
steve yells, “they didn’t tell you because you’d fuckin’ act like this, dally!”
before the criminal can respond, your boyfriend suggests, “now how ‘bout you leave, dallas? we don’t want you here.”
at sodas words, his eyes narrow and he glares at soda. his fists ball up, he takes a swing at soda, he luckily dodges it and grabs your hand, guiding you to the back.
steve walks up to dally, pushing at his chest and landing a punch on his jaw. he begins to bleed, they yell at each other constantly until steve lands another punch. he forces dally out of the shop, he runs, probably to the curtis house, soda guesses.
the interaction between dally and the three of you, and he hardly spared you a glance. you ask steve and soda, “are the two of you okay?” both of them nod, steve says he’ll call darry and tell him not to let dallas in.
steve walks to the back, you hear him talking to sodas older brother. silence fills the air once he hangs up.
soda shrugs and grins, “well, at least we don’t gotta keep our relationship ‘way from the gang now, huh?”
you chuckle, he places his arm over your shoulders and you reply, “guess so!”
