A blog about one of my favorite artists, Atsuko Nishida!
Atsuko is a video game artist. She works for the Pokemon company and has been ever since the first games! Originally most of the Pokemon designs were supposed to appear scary or tough like Charizard or Tyranitar, but she took some of the designs and gave them a cutesy look!
Atsuko is also the mastermind behind the company’s mascot Pikachu! She also designed a couple of the eevee evolutions and even designed my favorite Pokemon Zoroark! Not only that but if it wasn’t for her, Ivysaur would look like this!
Another cute fact about this artist is she’s super camera shy, during an interview in 2018 she spent the entire thing hiding behind a Pikachu plush!
Atsuko’s work is very important to the company because without her design we wouldn’t have a balance of designs within the Pokemon games. We mainly have intimidating ones such as Garchomp or Metagross.
Atsuko is an inspiration to me because not only are her designs diverse and loved by all but they also hold purpose in a way. The main rule of a pokemon design is that they need to look like they’d be your friend, I feel that Atsuko pulls this off really well! I try and make my work to have the same feel, some of my characters may look intimidating but deep down inside they’re total sweethearts who will have your back no matter what, either that or they’re just goofballs who want to have a good time with you!
One of the things that amazes me about her is that when she made the design for the company’s mascot, Pikachu, she didn’t make any concept sketches! She went straight to the computer and started punching dot’s to create him. She even quoted it herself in one of her interviews!
I like her designs because of how much character they hold and the color schemes and inspiration behind them are interesting! Not only that but the designs are also loved by many people and I wish to have people enjoy my designs, similarly to how they enjoy Atsuko’s!
Sinnoh Remakes had better do the following:
-keep Saturn's cat ear-hair -keep Cyrus as emo as possible -do something special for Palkia and Dialga (like what we got for Groudon and Kyogre, just don't do the same thing) -put Charon in it even tho he was only in Platinum -make confirmation that Saturn is indeed a cat

With wild Pokemon in Sinnoh to explore Sibbie is catching whilst Seishin is cataloging for this new ‘’Pokedex’’
HYPE!!!!
But seriously, knowing Pokemon Legends Arcues could change Pokemon for the better I have cautious optimism, its gonna be an eye opener and I hope Game Freak does this ‘’Right’’ so we could have a Pokemon game changer in future generations!

BTW, I think the actually Sinnoh remakes are an...interesting move, its chibi style might grow on some people but we really need more footage and information too see if its worthy of a remake then just a DS game with a Switch gloss of paint.
