âHe watches me while I shower.â You said. Your hands gripping the cell phone tightly. It was a cold night, much colder than before. Your feet moved on their own as you paced around your bedroom.
There was silence on the other end of the phone line.
âHitoka? Are you still there ?â You stopped walking and looked down at your phone. The call was cut. This couldnât be happening right now.
Your fingers raced agaisnt the screen as you tried to call Hitoka once more.

âFinally Iâm able to go home on time. I havenât practiced guitar in a while.â Semi Eita mutters to himself. Heâs had to work overtime for the past few days, sleeping in the office. By the time he eventually reaches the bus stop, the bus has already passed. âI want coffee.â he sighs and looks at the nearby stores, to his surprise a new coffee shop has opened.
Ding, ding.
The familiar sound of the door cracking open gains your attention. You look over to see someone in a suit with ashy blond hair and tired demeanor, the thing that catches your attention the most though being his beautiful brown eyes.
âWelcome to the shop! What can I get for you tonight?â You ask the man as he approaches the counter.
âA medium coffee, black please.â He requests.
âThat will be 350 yen please.â You wait as he digs around his pockets.
âShit I only have 300, just make the coffee small.â The man sighs.
âDonât worry about the 50 yen, itâs on the house. After all, you're one of my first customers.â You quickly say, feeling bad for the poor man, he probably just came back from a long day at work.
âIâll pay you back, I promise, er,â He squints his eyes trying to see your nametag, â(L/N). I will pay you back (L/N).â
âPlease donât worry about it, like I said itâs on the house.â You respond, pouring out his coffee. âMake sure you get rest today, I can tell you had a long day.âÂ
The man nods while grabbing his drink and walking back outside to the bus stop. You sigh and lean against the counter after a long day at work, after youâve taken a rest you get back up to finish cleaning.
`
âI had to sleep in the office again!â Semi complains while kicking a rock on the street. âIâm gonna have to call the band to cancel again. Damn it!â He wails in anger. âI need another coffee.â Sighing, he starts heading to a familiar shop.
Ding, ding.
âWelcome- oh itâs you from the other day!â You say, happy to see a possible regular.Â
âYou remember me?â He questions,
âOf course I do! I try to remember all my customers, theyâre all special to me and this shop.â You gleefully say, âNow a medium black coffee again?â He nods at your statement before adding,
âAs well as two of those croissants please.â He requests.
âYour total is 1030 yen.â You answer, grabbing his two croissants as he looks around in his pockets.
He hands you 1100 yen, grabbing the croissants you were holding. âHere, keep the change. I told you Iâd repay you one day.âÂ
âWait! I canât take extra money from a customer, here let me get your change.â You hurry to grab the cash out of the register only for something to be shoved into your mouth.
âI told you Iâd repay you. Donât mind getting me another croissant.â He smiled at you.
You pull the croissant out of your mouth, âYou didnât have to do that. Anyway, if you donât have anywhere to be, would you like to sit and chat while we eat?â You ask as you start brewing the coffee.
âI donât have anywhere to be, it would be a pleasure to eat with you.â Semi responds.
Itâs funny, Semi thought. He wanted to go home, have a beer and sleep the night away, but here he is waiting for you to finish making his drink so the two of you can chat.
âHere you go, uhâŠâ The realization hit you, âOh my god I donât even know your name! Iâm so so sorry.â You apologize for your lack of manners but he just laughs.
âYouâre kind of a clutz, I guess thatâs what attracts people to you.â He says, grabbing his coffee, âMy name is Semi Eita.â
âHave a seat anywhere Semi, Iâll join you after I make myself a drink.â You tell him, starting to prepare your own drink.
As Semi sat down in a booth he realized that the coffee shop was extremely clean, even if it was around closing time. This leads him to wonder if you get many customers. He wondered why people wouldnât want to come. Thereâs you with a friendly personality, the beautifully decorated interior and the delicious pastries.
âSorry it took a little long to make my drink.â You take a seat across from him. âSo, Semi. Where do you work? You always seem so tired.â You wondered.
âIâm a civil servant, I mainly work with taxes and stuff. Itâs a busy season right now.â He sighs and takes a sip of his coffee, âI also play in a band as a side gig.âÂ
âYouâre lying right?! Thatâs so cool!â You exclaim, âBeing in a band, even as a side gig, is such a huge thing! What instrument do you play? Or are you a vocalist?â You bombard him with questions, flustering him a bit.
âI play guitar, but since it's a busy season Iâve been canceling practices with the other members.â He awkwardly laughs. âYou should come watch us play one day, I promise weâre not the worst.âÂ
âIâll watch no matter what! Supporting small bands or businesses is something Iâm completely fine with doing. Probably because this coffee shop is a small business so I understand what they may be going through.â You answer.
âIâll continue to support your business.â He says while standing up. âItâs my que to head out now, the bus should be passing by any minute now. Thank you for this chat (L/N). Next time weâll talk more about you.â Semi began to run out to his bus stop.
Sighing, you start to clean off the table the two of you were sitting at, changing the sign at the front from open to closed. Today you didnât get many customers, but thatâs the business world, some days will be slow. Flicking off the lights you grabbed your keys and started walking home.

âSemiSemi!â A particular annoying voice calls out to Semi.Â
âWhatâs up Tendou. Oh? You came with Ushijima too?â Semi states, seeing Ushijima wave as Tendou jumps up and down in the air, getting Semiâs attention.
âThatâs right! Ushijima had a free day today so he was able to come with us.â Tendou says, âAlso here, freshly made chocolate!â He throws a bag of chocolate at Semi.
âI donât get any?â
âOh Goshiki. I didnât realize you were coming too.â Ushijima says.
âYeah, I managed to find time between games and classes.â Goshiki responds, âAlso Shirabu is supposed to be coming as well.âÂ
âWe may be missing the majority of the team but itâs like weâre all still here together.â Semi reminisced about the time they had ditched volleyball practice to visit a shrine together, now years later theyâre visiting the same shrine.
âDonât act like theyâre dead, Semi. All of them are very much alive.â Shirabu says, making his late grand entrance.Â
âYou look dead inside. Howâs med school treating you?â Semi asks, looking Shirabu up and down.
âWhatever itâs not like you look any better!âÂ
âThatâs enough you two, do you have to have me step in like back then?â Tendou says, slugging his arms over their shoulders.
âI never want to see anything like that ever again please Tendou.â Goshiki shudders at the memory.
âLetâs head up then.â Ushijima says, walking ahead of the group.
You decided to head up to the shrine to pray for good fortune, with bills racking up it looks like you might go under soon. After praying you wonder where to go next. You canât open the shop since itâs a holiday, you canât buy anything since you donât have money, all your friends are with family right now. You sigh.
â(L/N) is that you?â You hear a voice call out to you, surprised you turn around to see Semi looking at you. He was wearing some jewelry with a darker colour scheme, paired with a fur coat on top.Â
âWhoâs this Semi? Did you find a date and not tell us!?â A red haired person panics behind him.Â
âNo this is (L/N), they own a coffee shop around the bus stop I take to go home. I went in one day and I keep visiting, Iâm a regular there.â Semi explains the situation to his friends.
âNice to meet you!â A black haired man extends his hand, âIâm Goshiki, nice to meet you (L/N).âÂ
âGoshiki you just said the same thing twice.â An olive haired man says before approaching you, âIâm Ushijima.âÂ
âMy name is Shirabu, Iâm actually the closest with Semi out of everyone here.â The man with sandy hair waves at you as Semi rolls his eyes.
âAnd last but not least Iâm-âÂ
âYouâre Tendou Satori!â You exclaim. âYour chocolate is so popular, Iâm actually a huge fan of your work and I hope you continue to show how you make chocolate! Seeing you motivated to follow your dreams as a chocolatier actually inspired me! â You laugh awkwardly, seeing as how youâre bombarding the man. âI hope you expand your shop, Iâd love to taste some chocolate here instead of traveling all the way to France.â
âMan I didnât get to do a big introduction, but Iâm glad Iâve got a fan! I might try expanding here, depends on how I feel. Alas,â He dramatically places a hand on his head, âif only I had known you were going to be here, I wouldâve brought extra chocolate.â He sounds guilty over the fact that he wasnât able to give his, probable, number one fan anything.
âNo no donât worry about it! Iâll buy your chocolates one day but I kinda canât afford anything right now haha.â You joke around.
âSince youâre here, want to join us for the day?â Semi asks, shortly realizing you might be with someone, âIf youâre not with anyone now that is.âÂ
âIâm not here with anyone. Iâd love to join you all but I canât really buy anything.â You say awkwardly. Semi looks at you with a frown.
âThen Iâll pay, consider it appreciation for how kind you are to me whenever I come into your store.â Semi says, not allowing you to say anything else as he drops his arm over your shoulders. âWhere are we going next guys?â
`
âDid not think weâd be here. Do you even know how to skate Goshiki?!â Semi yells at the poor boy.Â
As the group was walking around town Goshiki and Ushijima wanted to try going skating, the entire group agreed except for Semi. Why did only Semi disagree? Semi didnât know how to skate and he didnât want to embarrass himself.Â
âTo answer your question Semi, when I was younger my mom wanted me to go pro with skating, but eventually I got into volleyball and skating became a hobby of mine.â Goshiki answers, shocking almost the entire group.
âIt looked like you had prior experience so Iâm not surprised. Itâs odd.â You say getting the attention of everyone, âI find that depending on whatever sport youâve participated in changes the way you walk or act. Like Goshiki you walk like a volleyball player but there's this hint of elegance behind it, you must have been a figure skater.â Goshiki looked at you, jaw to the floor with your accurate assumption of the sports he partook in.
âWoah (L/N) youâre super good at analyzing people, were you some sort of sports manager back in high school?â Tendou asks, surprised by your knowledge.
âNah, Iâve just liked looking at people from afar.â You say before realizing how wrong that sounds, âI mean not in the creepy way! Like in a sort of observation way. Itâs interesting seeing how people interact with someone they like or dislike. Or if theyâre having a bad day or not.â
âI suppose that makes sense. I donât get it though.â Ushijima says finishing tying up his skates.
âEveryone good to go on now?â Shirabu asks. He was waiting on the ice for a while as the majority of you struggled with getting skates on.
Everyone gets on the ice slowly but surely. Shirabu and Goshiki start skating and trying to one up the other, Tendou and Ushijima skate around trying to get used to the feeling, as you try to get Semi on the ice.
âI donât know how to do it, I think itâs better if I sit this out.â Semi says, his body shaking from nerves.
âDonât be like that! You could have a fun time without knowing it, just hold on to the railing and Iâll be right beside you the whole time. I promise.â You try to convince him, holding out your hand to assist him onto the ice.Â
Still shaking, Semi grabs your hand and slowly gets onto the ice. While trying to get his left food onto the ice he trips over the bar and falls forwards a bit. Since you werenât expecting the sudden force you fall down backwards, still holding hands with Semi dragging him down on top of you.
âIâm so sorry (L/N)!â Semi says, getting off you and sitting against the side. âI told you I shouldâve stayed on the side.â
âDonât be sorry, weâre having fun arenât we! Look, you're on the ice now.â You cheer him up.
âLook at the lovebirds over there.â Tendou whispers to Ushijima, to which he nods in agreement.
`
âThank you for today, as well as walking me home, Semi.â You thank him.
âItâs no problem really, and I should thank you for teaching me how to skate.â He laughs at himself. There were a lot of times where he fell and accidentally brought you down with him but you were right, he had a lot of fun.
âBe safe on the way back to your place, Semi, and make sure to not push yourself. Iâll see you around my favourite regular.â You tease him before shutting the door, leaving the poor man blushing madly.
âIâm your favourite huh.â Semi whispers to himself before walking away. âDamn it I shouldâve asked for their contact info!â Semi realizes itâs too late to go back and ask.

Ding, ding⊠Ding, ding⊠Ding, ding⊠Ding, dingâŠ
Maybe it was the prayer from the shrine or your promotion got popular but youâre backed up in your shop today. Constantly taking orders, making pastries, and cleaning.
âExcuse me but why is it only you working? You should get another hire.â A random customer rudely says to you, to which you brush off. Up until today you werenât able to afford really anything, but if business continues to be as busy as it is now things will get better.
âOh, Semi! Welcome, I'll help you in a minute. I just have three more coffees to make before taking your order. Wait, you're getting a black coffee and croissant again right?âÂ
âYouâre right but it looks like youâre swarmed, want some help (L/N)?â He offers, âIâm not good with making coffee or pastries but I can take orders and clean tables. Something to take your mind off stuff.â
âAn apron should be in the back, grab that and put it on. Thank you, Semi.â You say, smiling happily as you bring out orders.
â(L/N) weâve run out of cupcakes!â Semi shouts at you.
âGive me a minute Iâm putting frosting on them!â You yell back, quickly finishing the sweet treats and bringing them out to him. âIâve got to make more dough, you got the front counter?â You ask, to which he nods.
`
Flipping around the sign from open to closed was the best feeling today. Both you and Semi Eita collapse on the ground.
âYou really need to get another hire.â Semi pants out, his sweat dripping on the floor.
âThank you for helping out but, didnât you have work today? I didnât keep you right?â You sit up, guilty for making him late.
âActually I didnât have work, I have the next 2 weeks off. Iâm visiting France tomorrow to see Tendou.â He explains, sitting up with you.
âTell him I said hi!â You excitedly say, âWe should start cleaning this up so we can head home though.âÂ
âAgreed.âÂ
So the two of you spend the next 45 minutes prepping the pastry batter for tomorrow, cleaning the machinery and the tables, and taking out the trash.
âIâll see you in a week, Semi.â You say, smiling.
âEita.â
âHuh?â You ask, confused.
âCall me Eita, not Semi.â He answers, smiling back.
âThen, call me (Y/N).â You wave goodbye to Semi and head home. Even if he was a regular, a friendship has blossomed from it.
`
Ëââ§ê°á đč à»ê± â§âË
`
Semi sighs as he plops down on his bed, after being dragged around by Tendou for the entire week he needed a good night's rest. He went to many tourist attractions, he even went to a few bakeries around and, he has to admit, their baked goods were really good but it couldnât compare to yours. Luckily enough he managed to snag some of Tendouâs chocolate before it all sold out. He thought to himself that he should give you some before drifting off into sleep.
Knock knock.
âUghhhhâŠâ Semi groans into his pillow, looking up at his clock he notices heâs only been asleep for 3 hours.Â
Knock knock!
Sighing Semi stands up and heads towards the door to answer whoever may be knocking.Â
âWelcome back Semi!â Two voices call out while confetti flies into his face.
âWhat the hell are you two doing?â Semi goans, seeing both his underclassmen standing at his door.
âWe knew you went to France so we decided to welcome you when you came back home!â Goshiki says.
âYeah, and we were wondering if you got us any souvenirs..â Shirabu says, eying down Semi.
âNo.âÂ
âWhat! Why not!?â Both of them exclaim at the same time.
âIâm just messing with you two, but did you both seriously have to come visit me the day I get back?â Semi asks while inviting them inside.
âIt was the one day our schedules aligned so we could come together.â Shirabu answers, plopping himself down on the couch.
âHave you eaten yet Semi?â Goshiki asks.
âNah, like I said I just came back and I immediately fell asleep.âÂ
âThen if you donât mind, let me make something!â Goshiki insists.
âKnock yourself out.â Semi answers, joining Shirabu on the couch.
âSo you didnât get souvenirs for just us right? Did you get some for (L/N)? What about Ushijima?â Shirabu bombards Semi.
âWell, Ushijima is rich as hell and you know it. He visits France all the time to see Tendou. I also didnât get anything for (L/N).â Semi lied through his teeth. What he found which reminded him of you was a mug that highlighted your kind personality. He also found matching keychains for both you and his underclassmen.
âI donât believe you but you can spout whatever you want. Start the TV so we can watch Ushijima play.â Shirabu complains.
âShit heâs playing today? I thought that was tomorrow.â Semi says, turning on the TV just in time to see Ushijima spike a ball, gaining a point. âDamn that still gives me chills to this day.âÂ
âYeah Ushijima is super cool. I canât believe how competitive I was with him back in high school.â Goshiki, embarrassed with himself, says while walking out with a tray of sandwiches and tea. âThe tea just got poured, be careful.â
âI was surprised all those years ago when Tendou said he wasnât going to go pro. I thought for sure he was.â Shirabu says, reminiscing about the past.
âYouâre not one to be sappy, what's wrong with you.â Semi stares him down.
âMed school has been getting to me, what can I say?â Shirabu sighs. He takes up a cup of tea and sips it to only spit it back out.
âItâs hot isn't it?â Goshiki stares at Shirabu angrily.
âYeah it is.âÂ
âMaybe you shouldâve listened to me.â
âStop staring at me like that!â Shirabu yells back jokingly.
âNow, now, you two donât make me call Tendou, you do know it's early in the morning for him.â Semi says, trying to stop the fight between the two. The two instantly stop bickering.Â
Back in high school there was once a fight between underclassmen around 2am. Tendou, who was woken up by this fight, managed to strike so much fear into the poor students to the point where they resigned from the volleyball club.
âLetâs just cheer on Ushijima, yeah?â Semi asks, to which the two boys nod their heads.
`
Semi sighs, glad to see his underclassmen but also glad that theyâve left. Goshiki, bless his heart for making food and drinks, choose the wrong tea, making caffeinated tea instead of uncaffeinated. Semi took this as a sign to fully unpack and clean the house, to get rid of some energy of course.
âOh thatâs right.â He mutters to himself, picking up the bag of chocolate that he bought for you.
See there was a little event that happened in France. Semi had stopped by a bakery and they had chocolate croissants and they were irresistible. Thatâs when he had an idea, he decided that when he came back he would try to make chocolate croissants for the both of you. He spent a good two hours asking Tendou how to melt it, how to properly drizzle the chocolate, pretty much every question in the book. Now it was the time to put all the knowledge he gained to use.
He burnt 2 batches, one of which was still raw on the inside. Thankfully his last chance at making a batch turned out perfectly. He quickly drizzled the chocolate on top, letting it sit. Thus your big souvenir from France was made.
`
Ëââ§ê°á đč à»ê± â§âË
`
Knock, knock.
â(Y/N)? Are you home? You should be off work at this time.â Semi asks, waiting for you to open the door, he has all your souvenirs in a gift bag. You rush to open the door.
âEita, Iâm so glad youâre back, I missed you!â You exclaim, jumping up and hugging him.
âWoah be careful! I bought you some gifts and one is fragile!â Semi says, placing one hand around your back to stabilize the two of you.
âYou didnât have to, after all Iâm not as close as you are with your other friends.â You pout, gently letting yourself off of him.
âWell I wanted to get you something. Mind if I come in?â He asks, to which you oblige.Â
Semi walks in and places his gift bag on the table, you followed him shortly behind. He then pulls out three different wrapped gifts, each being a different size. You frown.
âDid you have to wrap them all?â
âNo but I thought it would be a nice gesture.â He says handing the smallest gift to you first. âOpen this.âÂ
You smile, gladly pulling apart the wrapping to see a cute coffee keychain.
âThey had four different colours of the coffee, so I bought all of them. Gave one to Goshiki and Shirabu and kept one for myself.â Semi says while pulling out his phone to show the cute green coffee cup hanging from it. âHereâs the second one.â He says handing you the next gift, which was the medium sized one.
âThank you so much Eita, donât forget to tell Goshiki and Shirabu that Iâd love to hang out with them again!â You say, smiling at the fond memory of the two. âAlright let me open this bad boy!â You say while ripping off the wrapping.
It was a mug, a beautiful one at that. It had your name on the side of it with beautiful designs covering it.
âI got it at a small business, I specifically requested your name.â He says, smiling sheepishly. âDo you like it?âÂ
âOf course I do!â You respond almost immediately, running to the kitchen sink to wash it. âIâll drink something out of it later. Now whatâs the last gift!â You say while making grabby hands towards Semi.
âHere.â He hands you the last one, a slight hue a pink covering his cheeks.Â
You pull off the wrapping to see a container with croissants in it.Â
âFrench croissants? From a bakery?â You look up to him confused.
âI actually made the croissants myself, the chocolate though is Tendouâs chocolate. I melted some down and drizzled it on top, I also have a bag of them if you want it plain.â Semi says, giving you a big smile, âLet me know how they taste, yeah?âÂ
âEita..â You flush. He specifically remembered how you wanted to try Tendouâs chocolate, and he knew how much you liked pastries so he went out of his way and made you chocolate covered croissants. âThank you, even if you were a regular at first, we definitely have blossomed into something more.âÂ
Now it was his turn to blush.
`
Ëââ§ê°á đč à»ê± â§âË
`
Ding, ding.
âWelcome!â An unfamiliar voice calls out to Semi. Looking to where the voice came from he notices a teenage girl instead of you. âWhat can I get for you?â The girl asks, smiling up at him.
âIs (Y/N), er, (L/N) here?â He asks, only for her to shake her head.
â(L/N) is sick right now so my mom asked me to take care of the store for them. Iâm alright with it because when this place gets business Iâm gonna apply here and work!â The girl says enthusiastically, âSo are you gonna order anything?âÂ
âIâll take a medium green tea and soup to go please.â He answers.
`
Knock⊠knock⊠knock..
â(Y/N)? Are you home?â Semi asks, giving time between each knock of the door. Eventually the door swings open, scaring him.
âEita what are you doing here? Shouldnât you be at work?â You ask in a daze, both from confusion and from your sickness.
âFirstly itâs the weekend, all I have is my band but weâre not practicing until later, secondly, I donât want you to stay sick. Go inside, I'll warm up your soup.â Semi says, slightly shoving you back inside your house with ease.
âOooookayyy, Iâm going to the couch.â You point in the direction youâre going before sluggishly making your way there.
Locking the door, Semi lets himself in and heads straight for your kitchen. He brings out a pot and puts the soup inside, letting it boil. While itâs heating up he pours some tea out for you, kept warm by a thermal cup.
â(Y/N), here drink some of this.â Semi asks, placing the cup of tea next to you, after you not moving for a while he asks again for you to drink some. This goes on for a while before heâs fed up and takes the cup and holds it to your lips.
âOpen your mouth a bit, Iâll pour some in for you to drink.â He smiles as you oblige, slightly opening your mouth allowing for some liquid to get in. âIâll be right back with some soup for you.â He gets up and heads back to the kitchen.Â
As heâs out of view your cheeks turn a light pink, realizing what Semi had just done. Grabbing a pillow you lean your head down comfortably onto it.
âHave you eaten anything at all today? You shouldnât get sick from lack of food.â He mutters, gently brushing some hair off your face only to realize you fell asleep. âIâll put the soup in the oven to keep it warm.â He says standing up and grabbing the bowl.
After putting the bowl into the oven he notices the dishes that were left, wanting to make things easier he begins washing them. Just then the realization hit him, his face turned red as a tomato, he was acting as if you two were a married couple. For a good minute that was the only thing he could think of, getting very flustered.
`
Eventually you fell asleep. Not wanting you to sleep on the couch he picks you up and tries finding your room.Â
â(Y/N), is it this one?â He whispers, as to not stir you up too much. You groan yes in response. He gently places you down onto your bed, grabbing some blankets to place on top of you. He quickly runs downstairs to grab a glass of water in case youâre thirsty when you wake up.
â(Y/N).â He mutters to himself, âAm I in love with you?â
`
Ëââ§ê°á đč à»ê± â§âË
`
âAfter talking with the council, Semi you definitely like (L/N). Definitely in a romantic type of way too.âÂ
âThe fuck is the council?? You just asked Shirabu and Tendou their opinions, didn't you Goshiki.â Semi angrily says.
âYou should try making a move Semi. Now I have to go, my practice starts soon.â Goshiki says before hanging up the phone.
Semi groans and composes himself before entering your shop. Looking around he doesnât see you until he looks down to you on the floor scrubbing something.
âOh! Eita, donât mind me, one of the customers threw up on the floor.â You answer what was obviously going through his head.Â
âNo get up, let me finish cleaning it up. Youâve probably had a long day.â He says before bending down and taking the cleaning supplies out of your hands.Â
âThank you. Oh also! I get to have some time off, I found some new hires since business has been going well!â You say while taking off the puke covered gloves. âSince itâs not a busy season for you, we should hang out soon.âÂ
âI have a show this friday. If youâd like to come, I can get you tickets.â Semi blurts out.
âWell now I canât say no if one of the band members asks me!â
âIâll send you the information afterwards, but now Iâm gonna go wash my hands.â Semi says, placing the cleaning supplies down and walking away.

âWoah.â Is all you can say when you see the venue. Itâs quite small but still feels like a concert hall, itâs not too empty and feels homey almost. âExcuse me but where is this seat located?â You ask a person nearby.
âOh youâre so lucky dear, thatâs right in front!â The nice woman says. She directs you the right way, and you thank her.
She wasnât lying, you were lucky. Front and center, you got the greatest view of the stage. You wait in suspense as the band members go on stage one by one until Semi walks up. Oh, is all you can think. His hair, his outfit, everything just made him so attractive.
The night went on, each song bringing a new edge, and finally after an hour the songs came to an end. Before anyone does anything Semi speaks up.
âMy name is Semi Eita, Iâm the guitarist for this band and I have an announcement to make.â He pauses and takes a deep breath, âIâve fallen in love with one of you in the crowd, I truly hope you know who you are.â He says as he holds up his phone.
Thatâs when it hits you, the phone wasnât him ending the night in some punk way, it was a way of showing who he liked, that person being you. You were the only one in the crowd who had matching souvenirs with you, you were the only one who talked with him daily.
You walk outside with the rest of the crowd, circling around to the back door. You sigh as you think this through again. Semi, he was definitely more than a regular but, did you really want to pursue a relationship with him? He helped when you were in a time of need, he bought and made little souvenirs for you when on his trip to France, got you chocolates youâve been wanting forever, and took care of you when you were sick. On the flip side though, you only knew him because he became a regular, you donât even have any way to contact any of his friends. You sigh, deciding on your final answer.
You knock on the back door to see one of Semiâs bandmates answer.Â
âYo, I canât let you in here, sorry.â He says.
âIâm here to see Semi, he invited me to come here and I kinda need a ride back.â You laugh awkwardly as the bandmates' eyes widen.
âSo itâs you, yeah? The one he likes, câmon in.â He laughs and opens the door for you.
âThank you for opening the door and thank you for telling me itâs me.â You wave and go on the hunt to find Semi.Â
You see out of the corner of your eye the door that says Semi. You slowly open the door to see Semi sitting with his head in his hands muttering about anything and everything, you hear a few âwhy did I do thatâ and âgod they hate me nowâ.Â
âEita, donât worry.â You hug him from behind, âIf today was your way of asking me on a date, then I accept.â

Taichi knows that something is wrong with his best friend, he has been acting strangely for weeks. Now it's one of those moments again. Training is over and, uncharacteristically, Shirabu has not yet returned to his room to study for the next exam. No, he's standing at the edge of the court, water bottle still in hand, staring at Semi and Goshiki. Weeks ago, Goshiki had given up asking Shirabu for extra training; the latter had repeatedly turned him down and had approached Semi instead. Since then, the two had been training together more often and since then - Taichi paused in his deliberations and turned his gaze back to his best friend. He was still looking at the pitch as if spellbound and had his hands clenched. Was heâŠjealous? A grin appeared on Taichi's lips. Now he just had to find out which of the two Shirabu was jealous of.
Does anyone know a semishira fanfiction that's set in the future? Like Shirabu as a doctor and Semi as a musician?
You had mastered the art of keeping your cool.
In school, you were the picture of perfectionâorganized, ambitious, meticulous in everything you did. You had a system for everything: color-coded planners, perfectly curated study schedules, and a resume that outshined most adults in the workforce. When you took on the role of manager for the Shiratorizawa volleyball team, it wasnât because you particularly cared about the sportâit was another challenge to conquer, another achievement to stack onto your spotless record.
But then there was Tendou Satori.
A gremlin in human form.
He was your one roadblock to peace, the singular entity determined to ruin your composed demeanor. From the first day, he had made it his mission to push your buttons. Whether it was teasing you during practice, dramatically announcing your arrival every time you walked into the gym, or deliberately causing mild chaos when you were trying to focusâhe was always there, getting under your skin.
And today? He was worse than usual.
âOi, Manager-chan, you look tense~â Tendouâs mocking voice rang through the gym as you diligently took notes on the teamâs stats. âIs the weight of perfection getting to ya?â
You exhaled sharply, choosing to ignore him.
Big mistake.
Tendou, sensing weakness, immediately invaded your space, leaning over your shoulder to peer at your clipboard. âOoooh, look at you, all serious and focused.â His smirk widened as he snatched the clipboard from your grasp before you could react. âHey, Semi, you see how intense she gets? Itâs almost scary.â
Semi barely glanced up from where he was stretching. âTendou, give it back before she kills you.â
âOh, but sheâd never. Sheâs too put together for that.â He turned back to you, grinning. âRight, Manager-chan?â
Your eye twitched.
âYouâre making her mad again,â Ohira noted from across the gym, shaking his head. âNot a great idea.â
âSheâs always mad,â Goshiki mumbled, tying his shoes. âMaybe she should justââ
âFinish that sentence, Goshiki, and Iâll have you running laps,â you snapped, finally lunging for your clipboard.
Tendou yanked it just out of reach, stepping back with a playful glint in his eyes. âI swear toâTendou, I am not in the mood for this!â you snapped, lunging for it again. He effortlessly dodged, making a show of flipping through your neatly written notes.
âWow, you even color-code these?â he mused. âYou are a perfectionist.â
Your patience snapped.
âGive it back, Tendou, or I swearââ
âOr what?â His smirk widened. âYou gonna scold me? Ground me? Maybe write me up in one of your little reports?â
âManager,â Shirabu called over, âjust hit him.â
Your fists clenched, but before you could blow up completely, a voice cut through the tension.
âTendou,â Ushijimaâs calm yet authoritative voice silenced the entire exchange. âYou are wasting time.â
Tendou sighed dramatically. âAwww, but Ushi, Iâm just having a little funââ
âTendou.â Ushijimaâs stare was unwavering.
With an exaggerated sigh, Tendou reluctantly handed the clipboard back. âFine, fine. No need to get all intense about it.â
âYou are intense,â Yamagata muttered under his breath, but it was enough to make Tendou chuckle. You snatched the clipboard from his hands, shooting him a murderous glare before stomping back to the bench. The rest of practice continued with you actively ignoring him, though you could feel his smug gaze on you the entire time.
After morning practice, you thought you had finally earned a few moments of peace, but of course, that was never the case with Tendou.
It started when he 'adjusted' the teamâs training scheduleâdoubling the number of drills without any warning, replacing the usual post-practice cooldown with an endurance challenge that he personally designed, and worst of all, swapping your neatly organized equipment labels with absolute nonsense.
The first red flag was Ushijima approaching you, arms crossed. "Manager. Tendou says you approved these changes."
You blinked, gripping your clipboard. "I absolutely did not."
Ushijima simply nodded. "I thought so."
Tendou, leaning against the net with a smug grin, waved lazily at you. "Ohhh, Manager-chan, you wound me. I thought youâd appreciate my initiative."
Your blood boiled.
âTendou," you said through gritted teeth. "What did you do?"
âOh, nothing serious~ Just thought the team needed a little extra spice. Gotta keep 'em on their toes, yâknow?"
The entire team was now staring.
"Fix it," you snapped, already pinching the bridge of your nose.
âOh, but itâs too late! Iâve already made some executive decisions. Like renaming the storage bins! Now instead of boring labels like âknee padsâ and âwater bottles,â weâve got âMystery Box #1â and âCursed Liquids.ââ
You stared at him, absolutely seething.
Ohira muttered, "...âCursed Liquidsâ?"
Tendou beamed. "Oh yeah! And the balls are labeled âFragile: Handle With Extreme Caution.â Iâm really fostering an atmosphere of uncertainty and excitement."
Yamagata walked over to a cart and squinted. "Why does this one say âDefinitely Not Volleyballsââ?"
He opened the cart and yelped as half the contents spilled onto the floor.
Tendou laughed. "Oops. Guess I shouldâve labeled that one better."
You could actually feel your soul leaving your body.
"TENDOU, YOU ABSOLUTE MENACE!" The words ripped out of you like a volcano finally erupting, and the entire gym fell into silence. You marched up to him, fists clenched so tightly your nails dug into your palms. "You don't just get toâ" you sucked in a breath, visibly shaking with rage. "Undo. Everything. Right. Now."
Tendou merely tilted his head, hands still stuffed in his pockets, eyes gleaming with amusement. "Oooh, scary."
That was it.
With a frustrated noise, you threw down your clipboard and turned on your heel, storming out of the gym before you could do something truly regrettableâlike chucking a volleyball at his smug face.
The doors slammed shut behind you, leaving behind a heavy silence.
Semi exhaled. "Okay, yeah, that was bad."
"Dude," Yamagata muttered, shaking his head. "That was the loudest sheâs ever yelled."
Ushijima, ever direct, simply said, "You should apologize."
Tendou scoffed. "Apologize? For what? I'm fostering team morale!"
Semi arched a brow. "No, youâre fostering a migraine."
"And an aneurysm," Shirabu added dryly.
Ohira sighed. "Tendou, come on. We all know you do this because you like her."
Tendou exhaled through his nose, tilting his head. "Well, yeah. Obviously."
The gym fell into silence.
Goshiki blinked rapidly. "Wait, what?!"
Semi threw his hands up. "Oh, now you admit it?! After months of this? After making our manager nearly combust on a daily basis?"
Tendou shrugged. "What can I say? Itâs fun. Sheâs cute when sheâs pissed."
Ohira groaned. "This is so much worse."
"Yeah, no kidding," Yamagata muttered. "Dude, go fix it."
Ushijima nodded. "You should apologize."
Tendou let out a dramatic sigh, already making his way toward the exit. "Fine, fine. But if she throws something at me, just rememberâI did this for you guys."
Shirabu scoffed. "No, youâre doing this for you."
"Same difference!" Tendou sang, pushing through the doors.
"Oh, this is gonna be a disaster," Semi muttered.
__
Outside, your footsteps pounded against the pavement as you stormed away from the gym, rage thrumming under your skin like an electrical current. The nerve of that manâ! You were going to kill him. No jury would convict you.
Behind you, quick footsteps echoed. You didnât have to look to know who it was.
"Of course," you seethed under your breath.
"Oi, Manager-chan!" Tendouâs voice rang out, obnoxiously cheerful despite the fact that he had just single-handedly ruined your entire day. "Wait up!"
You didnât wait. Instead, you walked faster.
"Hey, hey, donât ignore me! I came to apologize!"
His mock sincerity made something snap inside you.
"Go to hell, Tendou!" you barked over your shoulder, barely slowing down.
Tendou let out a dramatic sigh, then jogged ahead, stepping directly into your path before you could escape.
Your body nearly collided with his. He was too close, all lazy grins and infuriating confidence, like he hadnât just been the source of your current blood pressure crisis.
"Move, Tendou," you snapped, your voice low and dangerous.
He put a hand to his chest, feigning offense. "Oof. I come all this way to make amends, and thatâs how you treat me? Harsh."
"If this is another joke, I swear to godâ"
"No jokes," he interrupted smoothly, his smirk still present but eyes sharp. "Iâm seriousâokay, mostly serious. I did kinda push you hard today, huh?"
You scoffed. "Oh, so you do have a functioning brain?"
"I do, in fact. And contrary to popular belief, I also have self-awareness." His smirk deepened, eyes glinting with something unreadable. "I just happen to enjoy making you... expressive."
Your teeth clenched so hard your jaw ached. "I am expressive. Youâre just a walking migraine."
Tendou hummed, looking you up and down like you were an interesting puzzle to solve. "Mmm... no, I think youâre a little too put together, actually." His grin sharpened, a slow, deliberate smirk. "All wound up so tight, afraid to let loose."
Your rage flared hotter than ever.
"I AM NOT WOUND UP," you spat, fists curling at your sides.
"Oh, no?" His gaze flickered downâjust for a split secondânoticing the way your hands shook with restrained anger, the tension in your shoulders, the way your breath came out just a little too fast.
Then, his smirk turned dangerous.
"Prove it."
Your eyes narrowed. "Excuse me?"
Tendou tilted his head, mocking thoughtfulness, his voice casual yet edged with something wickedly taunting.
"Go out with me. Saturday."
Your entire brain short-circuited.
"WHAT?!"
His grin only widened. "Câmon, Manager-chan~ Whatâs one little date?" His tone was syrupy sweet, full of mocking amusement. "You said I was wrongâso show me."
You opened your mouthâready to refuse, ready to tear him apartâbut then you saw it.
Something hidden beneath the teasing.
There was a challenge in his expression, a dare, a glint of something genuine underneath all the bravado.
Your pulse spiked.
You were going to regret this.
You exhaled sharply, glaring daggers at him. "No pranks?"
Tendou raised three fingers, mock solemn. "Scouts honor."
You stared him down, searching his face for any sign of deception. His smirk remained, but there was a flicker of something undeniably serious in his gaze.
Before you could think better of it, before your rationality could kick in, the words slipped past your lips.
"Fine."
Tendouâs grin split into something truly devious.
"Thatâs my girl."
Your entire body jerked with fury. "Donât. Say. It like that."
But he was already walking away, laughing as he turned his back on you, hands tucked behind his head like this was just another game heâd won.
"See you Saturday, Manager-chan~"
You stood there, rooted to the ground, your mind replaying everything that had just happened.
And then reality hit you like a truck.
Oh. Oh no.
WHAT DID YOU JUST DO?
Third year of @hqbb and as always I had a ton of fun participating ~Â This time around with Aria (malewifereoagenda) and their super sweet UshiSemi fic "A Love Once Lost" (Preview | full link following soon) đ
Fandom: Haikyuu (My contribution to the @olympicsbangâ) Type: Nonlinear Novella - 30.1k words // Athlete AU Focus: Fencer!Oikawa Ships: IwaOi ; MatsuHana ; mentions of UshiTen, DaiSuga & AsaNoya Rating: Teen and Up/Mature (contains âadult jokesâ but nothing graphic)
Summary: Oikawa Tooru is not a genius - in fact, he despises being labeled one. Who ever got the impression, that being a spoiled brat is such a great thing? Everything HE has achieved comes from hard work and Oikawa wants the god damn credit for every single drop of sweat he put into it! But perhaps Tooru is a little bit biased - after all, his bright future as a gymnast went down the drain rather spectacularly after injuring his knee beyond repair. And yet here he stands, sword in hand (literally) and he will fight for his dream of olympic gold to the very last. Dating a very hot Ice Hockey player and having a dope teammate with too large eyebrows and a never ending supply of fun and memes donât exactly hurt his motivation either.

summary:
Iwaizumi Hajime was an undercover officer with a single objective: Infiltrate the Seijoh Syndicate of the Yakuza and tear them down from the inside out. His primary target was the boss, Oikawa Tooru. The job itself was simple enough, until Iwaizumi got in too deep and absconded not only from the mission, but from the city itself.
Now, two years later, heâs dragged back into Tokyoâs unsavory underworld. A grisly string of murders is plaguing the city, and the culprits are most definitely Yakuza. The problem is discovering which Syndicate is responsible, and Iwaizumi â the leading expert on Yakuza affairs â is the man most suited for the job.
Despite his determination to stay away from Tokyo â and from Oikawa â Iwaizumi finds himself right back in the middle of Seijoh, and it feels a lot more like home than heâd care to admit.
