I can't belive the series is over 😭 I love this world and these characters so much. The ending was what I was hoping for 🥺❤️ I feel like she did a great job wrapping everything up and giving everyone the ending they deserved. The loss though were so sad. This book was an emotional roller coaster lol

Tower Of Dawn by Sarah J Maas

I will say I was not excited to read this one since it was Chaols point of view and with the cliff hanger of the last book I only wanted to read Aelins story. But I enjoyed the book! I enjoyed Chaols redemption and finally having Yrene in the story 🥰

I'm excited to start the last book but sad that the story is coming to an end 😭 the last book is nearly 1000 pages though so it will probably take me a minute to read lol

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas

This book was a constant go go go. I was so excited when all the point of views met and for the love connections that were made. But typical Sarah had to rip my heart out at the end 😭

Queen Of Shadows by Sarah J Maas

I think this is my favorite in the series so far. Everything played out so nicely and I hope 🥺 I absolutely love Rowan and Aelins relationship, Chaol finally isn't annoying, and Dorian is free! I can't wait to see Manons and Elides characters transform 🥰

Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

This book was heart warming and heart wrenching at the same time lol I was so happy with what happened with Rowan because i love him so much. And then all that other crap happened with everyone else! 😂 if I didn't have a test tomorrow I'd start the next book now lol

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas

Oh Nehemia 😭 that made me so sad. Archer can got to hell. I need Celaena and Chaol to be back to normal. I'm glad she told him everything and I predicted that ending half way through lol

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

I definitely am going to fly through this series. This book was very good, I loved the character development and meeting the new characters. I can tell she used this book to lay the ground work for what's to come!

The Assassins Blade by Sarah J Maas

I'm glad I read this book of novellas first to give me back stories before jumping into the series. I loved the stories but ma'am why did you have to rip my heart out at the end like that 😭 Celaena better find love again.

For what the goal of this book was I don't think it needed to be as long as it was lol I loved seeing my favorite characters finally together and thay ENDING. I'm so excited for her to combine this with ACOTAR!

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Mass

I enjoyed this book although at times it was very information heavy. The way the story played out and the twists/turns kept me reading as well as waiting for the main characters to finally get together lol I think I enjoy thr court of thorns and roses world better but I am excited to start book 2! But my eyes need a break because out of the 800 pages in this book I read about 400 today 😂

sarah j mass antis you say? look. i checked out the first throne of glass book from the library when i was ten years old. and my friend, i was obsessed. finally i’d found what i would later realize was my favorite trope in fiction: female heroines rejecting the call. women saying "i’ve suffered enough." the first book is off to a great start, fifth grade me will not put it down. this girl is badass, she’s ruthless, she’s selfish, and she feels no obligation to save the world. "but it’s your destiny!" calls the journey, "but you’re the only one who can save us!" and the heroine says absolutely not. i will not die for you after everything i’ve already lost. and then — and then !! we make it another book or two and we discover: our heroine, who has staunchly declared that saving the world is neither her obligation nor responsibility, is in fact a long lost princess! and a magical one too! now, i don’t know about you, but i think the ruler of my country has an obligation and a responsibility to save said country. unless she wants to give up her crown and let the country democratize, her absolute power had better be used for good. i was devastated. i finished the series out of spite and never reread.

My main issue with Maas, aside from the racism and colonialism in her real life (and books), is that the fae have been my Special Interest since I was born. And what she did to them is unforgivable. Especially since she's sparked a trend and now every single fairy book (unless it's by Catherynne Valente) is the exact same garbage over and over again. I finally understand why all the vampire girlies got so mad about Twilight. But, hey, at least Meyer still had her vamps drinking blood. So they at least retained the main defining feature of their kind. Can't say that about Maas-Fae.

And I agree with you about heroines. I love a murderous, independent woman who does not care if she's the chosen one. We absolutely need more of that. But! If girl wants to be an actual literal monarch, she's gotta answer that call. If she wants to say "shove this crown so far up your ass it comes out your mouth" that's cool, no qualms there. But otherwise, no. No no no no. If she wants that position, that power, she's gotta take the responsibilities that come with it

I really want people to flood my inbox with their rants about authors and books they just can't stand, especially YA because it's so gloriously and passionately unhinged and I love it. But I am aware that I'm a tiny little blog that no one knows or interacts with. And despite being on this site for over a decade, I still don't understand the dark alchemy that drives this place.

But, hey, if you do see this, feed me your hatred. Be as vitriolic as your heart desires. Be unreasonable, be irrational. I won't judge you. I won't argue with you. I will accept your rage as my own.

sooo there are some STRONG opinions on a whole lotta characters from what I've observed (on Tumblr atleast) in acotar. I wanna share my two cents on tamlin vs rhysand first

ohh boy. tamlin definitely had a character assassination after the first book.

let's understand the 'caging feyre for her "protection"' thing. now, was tamlin right in doing this? FUCK no. feyre has always been a fighter, not standing on the sidelines, and the way tamlin didn't include her in whatever work made my blood BOIL.

paralleling Rhys; there were so so many instances where he, too, was overprotective over feyre. the thing is, I think his character was somewhat redeemed after the end of the last book. that conversation with Nesta was amazing, then the whole thing with supplying decor and whatnot for the ceremony---that's great

also the amount that Rhys hates tamlin is crazy?? tamlin was the reason he was still alive, although that was for feyre and her 'happiness', as he called it, but he didn't have to

now, tamlin; he definitely got consequences for his actions too.. but like, way too many consequences. he definitely fucked up siding with the king of hybern and in turn making feyre's sisters convert to high fae, but he still betrayed hybern in the war, and also while protecting feyre when she went to rescue elain. like, that should have earned him a lot more sympathy than it did in the books

a thing; I see people using the 'when tamlin went after feyre under the mountain, he tried to hook up with her instead of trying to run away' as a way to saw how tamlin didn't really love her? or something, and to that I'm like. WHAT. amarantha would have obviously realised, and the whole POINT of tamlin ignoring feyre while she did the challenges or whatever was to feign no interest to amarantha. if they would have been caught, tamlin's whole plan would have been for waste.

butttttt I will say this: during the discussion of the high lords before the attack, when tamlin barged in, he was way too aggressive and insulted feyre and NUH UH, HOW DARE YOU???

but that's the thing; tamlin did bad things and he got his consequences, courtesy of feyre herself. but in the end, tamlin lost everything (maybe not Lucien?) and I don't think that was fair

ah well. I don't think I'll be able to formulate a direct opinion whether I'm anti-tamlin or anti-rhys, and I think that is the most beautiful part of the whole story; why? because it shows everyone is flawed in their own way, and when they make mistakes, consequences come.

When I get excited or really into a groove while reading sometimes the words jumble together on page. I always end up reading the description of Azriel’s hands as sacred instead of scarred. I think that’s fitting

My little sisters recently turned 19 and now I’m freaking out… cause what do you mean Feyre was only 19 in ACOTAR??? The same age as my little sisters??? There’s no way I’d let them date a 500 year old man 😤

I think we need to accept the very real possibility that we will not be getting any sort of book announcement until 2035 😭😭😭

I love that scene in ACOMAF when the IC goes to Rita’s for drinks and Azriel and Feyre spend the night drinking in a booth, placing bets, and watching Rhys flirt with everyone who comes up to him. Because you absolutely KNOW that man was internally panicking, wondering if he was succeeding at making Feyre jealous.

So, when Feyre points it out for the first time and Rhys is like “how did I not know that! My girl is so smart! 😏”

It’s just like common sense for anyone not in the IC
