I've Added This Type Of Painting To My Kofi!!! Depending On The Size/portion Of The Animal Drawn Prices

I've added this type of painting to my Kofi!!! Depending on the size/portion of the animal drawn prices will vary, but a single headshot will run you $30 USD (accessories like a collar/bandana included)! You can find my Kofi HERE, but can also communicate with me through Tumblr/My Discord (Splasharooni)! Right now I only have examples for cats/dogs, but I'm open to all sorts of animal companions!!! I would love to try drawing snakes, hamsters, insect buddies, fish, and everything in between! I'm also open to adding little patterns to the backs of pieces in celebration of Halloween, like little pumpkins or skulls!!

**Required of Customer: A picture (or lots of pictures, the more the better!!) of the subject! It would be cool if the lighting was clean/clear, but I can work with all different types of lighting/adjust it accordingly!! I'm new to painting but eager to learn/grow!!**

Been Trying To Get Back Into Painting Because!!! I Want To Get Back Into Touch With My Technical Skills.
Been Trying To Get Back Into Painting Because!!! I Want To Get Back Into Touch With My Technical Skills.

Been trying to get back into painting because!!! I want to get back into touch with my technical skills. I love drawing cartoons it is my passion!! But I find myself missing the more classical forms of art, like the painting and charcoal work I focused on in school. I'm thinking of adding these pet portraits to my Commission rotation! I've had some friends say that 30$ is a good price but I work heavily from the references I'm provided so I'm not sure if that's the best one to stick with? Do you charge more or less for that?? I'm still not sure about the pricing of my cartoons, let alone works like this! If anyone out there in the art community has any opinions, tips, advice, etc I'd love to hear it! A portrait like one of these usually takes me between 2-3 hours, and I use a digital program (Clipstudio) along with a basic oil brush that came with it.

The Idea To Draw Imogen And Laudna As This Still From Céline Sciamma’s Portrait Of A Lady On Fire

the idea to draw imogen and laudna as this still from céline sciamma’s portrait of a lady on fire (2019) came to me in a dream. might do more movie redraws with these two because digital painting is fun and rewarding!! even though drawing fabric takes so so long. I also included close-ups on some parts I’m proudest of.

if you’re interested in a digital commission feel free to dm me!! I also have a ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/thislifewasneverours

Another Full Body Drawing Last One Didn’t Do Very Well (as If Any Of My Post Ever Did But It Got Like

Another full body drawing last one didn’t do very well (as if any of my post ever did but it got like one like which is exceptionally bad) so I’ll probably repost it later but basically it’s one of 3 drawings (maybe I’ll do more in the future) of women who dress like me in baggy loose clothes which I don’t see represented in art enough. The process of making them was pretty tedious with all the details and different textures but I was motivated to finish them and the feeling that I got at the end … let me tell you the best thing ever

Winold Reiss, Elise J. McDougald, 1925. Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons.

German painter Winold Reiss' paintings and drawings of Harlem residents included both renowned civil rights leaders and unsung social reformers like local teachers. Instead of rendering them from the lens of an outsider, he was committed to portraying and advocating their achievements and cultural prowess. One example is the portrait he made of Harlem educational reformer, Elise J. McDougald who became the first African-American woman principal in New York City public schools during the late nineteenth century.

Read more about Reiss' multicultural portraits and his unique approach to teaching art in my blog post "Winold Reiss’ Intersectional Art Education" https://theartsandeducation.wordpress.com/2022/08/26/winold-reiss-intersectional-art-education/

‹‹ Καλὸς καὶ ἀγαθός ››

‹‹ beautiful and good ››

In Ancient Greece kindness and beauty go hand in hand. Valorous Heroes and Powerful Gods are always described with a particular beauty and their brightness is one of the most important characteristic.

In Homer's Greek, eyes are sparkling, the skin is bright and etc, those aspects are translated as "blue eyes", "milky white skin", "golden hair". Lexicon of the colours in ancient greek is also pretty problematic, more than the real shades of eyes and hair, in those texts what matters is properly the level of brightness, because Deities are associated to light, so that Gods and Demi-gods shine.

Also in the next eras the binomial "good and beautiful" benefits of great success: in the greek arts, where beauty canons require beautiful and regular lineaments, also in portraiture of real persons, who appear all uniformly beautiful, similar and without defects (wrinkles, moles, receding hairline...)

Pretty different is, however, Roman portraiture, that goes to realism and made it its main goal.

In Homeric Poems, ugliness and deformity are associated to the viles, untrustworthy, envious. Later, the discourse is modified, because ugliness becomes an allegory and is applied to monsters fought by heroes.

"The strenght of the good is refugee in the nature of the Beautiful", wrote Platon. The beauty of physique corresponds to the moral perfection, according ancient greeks.

"A Growing Number Of People Are And Have Been Questioning The More Usual Representations Of Gender. Some

"A growing number of people are and have been questioning the more usual representations of gender. Some have had chemical and surgical enhancement, and many have not. Inhabiting a less static gender identification than that of typical transsexuals, they are exploring and experiencing a fluid range of gender embodiment. My own intimate partner, Kayt is one such individual. Ironically it has been through knowing and loving her that I have gained an even deeper understanding of the mutable soul. Her flexible consciousness has encouraged me to be generous in my thinking, and less rigid about the way others self-define, or in fact, when they choose not to" - Body Alchemy: Transsexual Portraits (1996) by Loren Cameron
