I decided to do a full flower and introduced some more coloured pencil.

I tried to do one of those flowy drawings, but my lines just wouldn't come out all effortlessly flowy. You can see that I struggled.

It's still a great piece though!

I was browsing Pinterest and I found this beautiful pen drawing WIP by visothkakvei. I was particularly interested in the flower and decided to doodle my own version in pencil.

Well, the doodle turned into a fully rendered piece and I loved it so much that I went on to make more pencil artworks and I'm turning them into a sticker set to sell in my shop and at art markets next year!

It was a great art week!

I love putting beloved characters through the wringer

So, here's another one from December! I was looking at it and wanted to add some pizzazz... so I went crazy with my photoshopping skills

And I discovered this new technique for scanned pencil art- if you add a new layer, paint it black, then set the blend mode to "overlay", it will increase contrast without losing fidelity or making the entire picture too bright/too dark. Play around with this yourself!

Without the filters and overlays:

It makes a mega difference!

I also scanned it before deciding I wanted to put more detail onto it, so here's a bonus pic:

"Reunite"

Art based off a scene from a lovely fanfiction called "Lost Time". My rendition of Kaden's outfit was inspired by Gashu-Monsata's reference sheet.

Mini spoiler-free review below to see if you'd be interested in reading!

The story is as much about Kaden as it is about Ratchet and Clank. It starts off during when Tachyon attacked, and fast forwards twenty years later where he's in the new dimension with the rest of the Lombaxes.

The way the author portrayed Kaden's suffering after surviving "The Exodus" and with a reason that actually makes sense as to why he didn't go back for Ratchet in the original dimension was very believable. I really related to Kaden in this story for personal reasons.

The only thing I'd have liked to see is to have had spent a bit more time with Ratchet and Clank before they went to the Lombax dimension and to have fleshed out their prologue a little more.

Overall good pacing with a solid, cohesive story. I highly recommend it!

Hi guys! So this is something I made 3 months ago but didn't get to posting it on Instagram before. This was a follow up drawing to my Sharpcanyon drawing ( https://www.instagram.com/p/BuH5MUZnyEW ) and I basically redrew its tail :p • Also, while I was looking through my drawings to find Sharpcanyon, some of them were being cut off like they do in the thumbnails, but this time cut off no matter what. I dunno if IG updated again so you can only post perfect squares, but comment if any of the drawings are not being fully shown, because they were at the right ratio when I posted them. But if it is being cut off, I usually post the link to the better'viewable drawing down below. I felt like drawing a prehistoric animal today XD and drew a giraffe-camel =P (It's actually an aepycamelus, I just made that part up) This is the first time I used reflective light, and I like how the shading pops out on the belly and doesn't blend into the leg. That's something I had problems with when shading things before, but now I know some more tricks :3 • I also drew a rat skeleton on the same page (I'll upload that later), so I cropped it out in Pixlr and put a pentagon around the main focus. I've never used that technique before, and I think it's pretty cool to say the least. :D (Those toes were surprisingly difficult to draw btw) • One more thing, since this is transparent, the black background IG automatically puts in will make it pop out more this time instead of making it blend in :D • Time Taken: 1 Hr 20 Mins Date Drawn: 5/3/2019 • © Do not trace, copy or steal my art.
