No Thieves In Ba Sing Se - Blog Posts

For those who can't tell, I based Luka's clothes off of Jet, for this crime I had to draw him twice.

The band is now called Pigmy Puma Section

She's a fire nation avatar, obviously. I think she deserves it. She's cool.

It's Kagami! She's the avatar!

She has pretty much mastered the element of fire, and earth comes naturally to her. When she left The Fire Nation she was sent to the Air Temples to learn airbending (it's next in the cycle) however, much like Korra, she had difficulty bending air because "avoid all your problems" is not a philosophy that comes naturally to her, so she left to find an alternative method of learning, going to the Kyoshi Warriors thinking their combat style would help her understand the element of air.

While training with the Kyoshi Warriors (which wasn't just to understand air, let's be honest, the culture and fighting style is something Kagami had always admired, also the girls are hot and she totally doesn't have a crush on the one with the ponytail) she heard that the the chief of the Northern Water Tribe was visiting Ba Sing Se. So she traveled/is traveling to Ba Sing Se in order to learn some earth bending and to try and get an in with Gabriel, so she can learn waterbending at the North Pole.

Here's some Chat Noir! I honestly think he turned out the best, him and Alya are the only ones who's hands I'm confident with.

I toyed with the idea of making Adrien The Avatar, but I decided against it, making him the prince of the Northern Water Tribe instead.

Chat Noir to Adrien is a way to escape the pressures of his daily life and to practice some form of bending other than the (I don't know the word but they're essentially party tricks) forms that his father only lets him learn.

Adrien is in Ba Sing Se with Gabriel, Nathalie and The Gorilla for some diplomatic reason or other - it's not important. What is important is how he had accidentally joined Alya's small band of thieves as Chat Noir, on his first outing in the city.

From one of Alya's thieves he learns Actual Waterbending. I don't know who yet.

So I thought I'd revisit Mari and go over some stuff for the No Thieves In Ba Sing Se AU.

She is not the avatar. Just a firebender.

She helps her parents at the bakery using her firebending alongside her mother. Tom is a nonbender. (Or maybe a cake bender? Haha, jk... Unless?)

She's still Alya's bff.

I thought I'd draw Marionette as a firebender

So I did. Might draw some others.

It's a Totally Random member of The Dai Li who is definitely Not Nino.

So Nino works for the Dai Li. This complicates things with his girlfriend Alya.

In the plus side as he is one of the few metalbenders in the squad he gets paid a lot and gets to go after high profile targets like Rena Rouge and Her Associates (lol you think I'll tell you? That's spoilers). He uses the metal shield on his back to protecc and atacc.

Rena Rouge keeps flirting with him and he just wishes she would stOP. He has a girlfriend!

I'm very proud of her! She came out real nice. Her outfit was inspired by Kai's airbenders clothes in Korra.

So Alya is a thief, in Ba Sing Se.

She wears a fox mask to hide her identity, adopting the persona of Rena Rouge when she does so. There are not many other airbenders in the city so she has to be careful not to bend much (or downplay her skill) in her civilian life.

In her civilian life Alya works in censorship for the Ba Sing Se newspapers. She does not like this job, and has gotten into trouble with The Dai Li because of her pushing for more truth to be seen by the public. She is one of the few people who actually know what is happening in Ba Sing Se.

Rena also allows her, and her band of thieves (we'll get to that later), to spread some of the information she has access to.
