Finally got around to drawing Three. I modeled my take on it after some of my early concept sketches for Murderbot, a few other Murderbot fan designs I enjoy, and, much more subtly, canines (given the vaguely feline traits I’ve given Murderbot).

The text reads: The logos are engravings in the support structure whose colors are created by LEDs connected to simple computer chips rather than muscle pigments. They are programmed to only be black or red. Constructs can withstand greater damage than humans, but without medical care, they cannot fully heal from even minor injuries.

Outer Support Structure: Segmented to allow for movement. Thinnest (and grayer) in a few points around the eyes and the audio sensors to make wireless connections easier. Muscles: Thin and inorganic. Found in all constructs and some higher quality human augments. They include pigments that, if modified to do so, can change shape and thus color based on certain inputs. This feature is used in many comfortunits and some secunits. In Murderbot’s case, the inputs are various danger-related signals from the brain and hormone producer. The range goes from bright red (perceived extreme danger) to cyan (perceived safer than safe). Inner Support Structure/Skeleton: Encased within are its main sensory nerves and blood vessels. Uppermost layer on the shoulders and upper leg. Inner Organs: Example shown: Power Cell

I’ve been reading some fanfics and relistening to the audiobooks, so I decided to update my take on Murderbot.

I was relistening to All Systems Red yesterday to help me finalize my interpretations of the PreservationAux humans, and as you can see I did not do that.

The fanbase has convinced me that Murderbot with tied back hair is just chef’s kiss. For now my headcanon is that it has a ponytail when on Preservation, but just before the survey in Network Effect, it gets its hair cut.

I don’t know what it’s yelling at or why it’s naked. Maybe a washing machine ate its jacket or something.

I just really wanted to draw its fangs.

Across the main sphere is binary code and ART saying “Hi SecUnit, Miss me?” as it hovers over the humanoid cyborg Murderbot (also known as SecUnit), who is laying on the ground wounded and bleeding. The background is faded binary code. Panel 2: A close-up of Murderbot’s face, injured and with an expression of intense worry. There are a few lines of red binary code floating above its head. Panel 3: Still a close-up of Murderbot, but its expression has shifted to one of relief and the binary code is now green. Panel 4: Murderbot’s expression has shifted to anger as it shouts “Fuck you ART!” ART replies, “Well fuck you too.” The binary code is now gray.

Fun fact, when one of my friends got to the part of Network Effect where it’s revealed that ART died(?), I played along that it was dead for good and then immediately after started drawing this for when she got to the part where ART came back.

Nother fun fact, ART is based partly on an ophanium, those angels that are just wheels/rings with eyes.
