Dolores Headcanon (Modern AU)

If she lived in the modern age, Dolores would like and relate to Taylor Swift and Adele’s songs, especially “You Belong With Me” and “Someone Like You”

Most people know Taylor Swift and Adele’s music are mostly about lost love and inner turmoil and I think Dolores would connect with them. We don’t know how long Dolores has had a crush on Mariano but I’m going to say for like a few years. “You Belong With Me” is about a girl pining after a guy who is with another and she thinks they don’t fit as a couple. This can pretty much be Dolores’ mindset on the engagement. “Someone Like You” is about woman mourning the loss of a love who is marrying another woman. Again, pretty similar to the engagement circumstances.

Random bystander "Why is Augustine refusing to sit down?"

Antonio "Abuelita was telling everyone about how Abuelito's favorite thing to do with her was carry her around, even when she was pregnant, so then Mariano decided to pick up Dolores and spin her around and they got all lovey dovey. Then papa lifted mama up over her head and made her smile so then Camilo showed off that he could pick up Mirabel and rock her, after that Luisa came by and picked up me Tio Bruno and Isa, not to show off, she didn't know what was going on she was carrying a dresser with one hand and we were standing in the way."

Bystander "Okay but...?"

Antonio "So Tio Augustine tried to pick up Tia Julietta but while he was walking he fell into a beehive and while being chased ran to water... A jellyfish sting him on the butt."

Bystander "Ah"

Antonio "But Don't worry Tia is making nachos!"

According to my daily scrolling, unless it's a y/n or reader insert, there isn't soulmates related content on the Encanto fanbase yet. Unaceptable!

-Black, if one of the soulmates dies

She quickly starts competing with Isabela for the Abuela's Favourite Grandchild title

Same goes for townspeople, as she officiates marriages and relationships

Of course, it's not always happy rainbows, as some couples are simply not meant to be

Then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked both families deemed fit to marry Mariano with Isabela

Too bad his string is the same as Dolores and Isabela's is white

And the candle flickered during Antonio's ceremony. Like the Thread, she's the only one who can actually see the cracks in Casita

Yeah...yikes

(A possible sequel could be that, out of respect, she has never looked at Abuela's pinky. But once the Madrigals have rebuilt Casita she sees it on accident...and it's red)

In Encanto? Oh it‘s definitely Mariano. And because I like me a good himbo I decided to add him to my Dolores drawing.

When I tell you, this woman is BOLD

I’m assuming Mariano is used to the bizarre idea of this family having magical powers, so that’s why he didn’t feel bothered in the slightest when learning this new information. Just a guess

And after that chaotic dinnerTM, I don’t think anything could ever surprise this dude ever again if we’re being honest
