Little tail wags
I think Lilia fed him false info on how to court humans.
I've been thinking about how uncomfortable and awkward it would be for Malleus to kabedon someone due to his height, specifically ME because uhh I'm nearly a foot and a half shorter than him LMAO. I also think Lilia getting an idea of human courtship rituals from the animes that Idia talks about to him online and then feeding that info to Malleus is fucking hilarious as a concept.

Hello! I donât know if you write this kind of thing, but could I have a silly little crack fic about Grim sabotaging different boysâ attempts at flirting with the prefect? Little guy has gotta look out for his henchhuman, yâknow?
Characters: Ace, Cater, Floyd, Rook.
CW: Ace's part mentions his ex, Bit of blood in Floyd's part, Cater's is kind of sad, Rook is Rook.
A/N: Hello Anon! I hope this is to your liking. I made Ace's part kind of long and since you didn't specify which characters I just let the wheel picker decide. I feel I may have written Grim a little OOC so apolgies for that I don't normally write for him, but I do love a challenge.
If you liked it reblogs and likes are always greatly appreciated!!

â Part 2
After the events of Riddle, Leonaâs, Azulâs, and the Jamil overblot he wasnât present for. Ace had started taking a liking to prefect they were close after spending so much time together and he liked Yuu however a certain cat had other plans. Ace was always worried that he wouldnât date anyone especially after what happened with his ex-girlfriend he was worried he wouldnât be able to date the prefect, so subtle hints of flirting he gave to the prefect. However Grim started taking a notice to Aceâs behavior towards his henchman and didnât really like that. The next time Ace would try anything Grim would try and stop it.Â
âHenchman, can you get me some more Tuna?â Grim asked
âGrim I just got you some Tuna we barely have the expenses to get you more. I still need to eat as well.â Yuu spoke as Grim sighed, mumbling something.Â
âYo prefect.â Aceâs voice was heard as the Prefect turned to look at the red head who was jogging over.
âHey Ace. What did you get on the test yesterday?â Yuu asked
âI got a 100%.â He crossed his arms proudly
âIn your dreams you did.â Grim spokeÂ
âWhat! No, I totally got an A.â Ace defended himself
âIt was an easy test so I would hope you get an A.â Yuu spoke giggling a bit.
âAnyways. Prefect you wanna grab some lunch? Iâll pay.â Ace offered flashing a cheeky smile.
âYeah I.â Prefect was cut off by Grim, âActually we were going to the library to study.â
âIt wouldnât hurt to have some lunch Grim.â Yuu spoke
âYeah I can totally help you guys study as well.â Ace spoke
Grim gave up as Yuu started walking with Ace to the cafeteria. Grim was obviously annoyed. He needs his Henchmen to not dally off with boys that will distract them from him becoming a great mage.
âYou had a basketball game recently, right? You were pretty amazing.â Yuu spoke to Ace
âI have to do well, so I wonât be benched. You should come to my games more often. It would help if you were cheering me on.â Ace nudged Yuu
âIf you want a personal cheerleader you could just hire one yâknow.â Grim crossed his arms
âI didnât mean it like that.â Ace rubbed the back of his neck
âI donât mind going to your games, in fact I really like seeing you do something youâre passionate about.â Yuu spoke which made Ace turn red a bit.
âCan we go back to studying? You two are getting off track.â Grim spat
âJeez Grim, it was just some small conversation.â Ace spoke
It went silent as the air felt heavy. The only sounds of pencil writing and pages of textbooks flipping. Eventually it was almost time to go to class.
âWe should probably get to leaving class is going to start soon.â Yuu spoke
âYeah. Iâll meet you at class.â Ace spoke feeling defeated by Grimâs tactics who felt quite proud of himself. Maybe Ace will have another chance to tell Yuu how he feels.
Cater enjoyed hanging out with Yuu a lot and he always tried to find a way to hang out with Yuu. Taking photos while hanging out to save for memories incase Yuu ever decides to leave this world he has something to remember Yuu. Whenever Yuu needed help or needed something he was always offering just to spend time with Yuu. However as of recently due to Halloween being at the end of the month and midterms coming up Yuu hasnât had a lot of time to spend with Cater not to mention Grim is also finding a way to try and keep Yuu busy. Grim didnât want his Henchman to get distracted by one of the coolest and chillest third years. Cater started picking up on Grimâs behavior but just pushed it off as he just wanted the both of them to work hard so they don't get expelled.
âHey Yuu.â Cater walked up to the Prefect.
âHey Cay. Sorry we havenât been hanging out a lot, just been so busy.â Yuu spoke
âItâs no biggie. We can find a way to hang out soon.â He spoke
âDo you have any unbirthday parties coming up soon? Maybe I can attend.â Yuu spoke
âWe do actually I was going to see if you can come anyways. Itâs on Friday at the usual time.â Cater spoke
âYeah Iâd love to come.â Yuu spoke
âHenchman.â Grimâs yell was heard as he came running up to the prefect. Jumping on them, climbing on them to their shoulder.
âHey Grimmy.â Cater greeted Grim.
âCan we go to Samâs please?â Grim begged, ignoring Cater.
âYou arenât going to get 20 cans of Tuna are you?â Yuu asked
âPlease.â Grim started begging gripping Yuuâs shoulder.
âOkay we can go. Iâll see you later Cater.â Yuu spoke as Cater waved and they both left.
Cater felt sad. He wanted to hang out with his favorite freshman, but of course they got caught up with something. Cater would also feel upset seeing the message Yuu sent the very next day saying they canât make it to the birthday party another hangout ruined.
Floyd liked his shrimpy, he loved the way Shrimpy hung out with him, he loved the way he got to squeeze his shrimpy. However Floydâs been noticing the baby seal has been passive aggressive to him recently. Heâs also been noticing food he makes for Shrimpy also gets ruined. Floyd has done many checks no one in the kitchen is messing with prefects food, and itâs certainly not Jade or Azul doing it. Azul started complaining Floyd is spending resources on food that doesnât get paid or eaten so eventually he had to stop the free food for his shrimpy. Jade has pointed out it could be the doing of Grim, but Floyd isnât hoping Grim would go that far. Would he?
Prefect decided to pay a visit to the Octavinelle trio mainly to check up on everyone and see how they are doing. Grim was getting antsy because he wanted to go back to ramshackle to take his daily nap. Floyd was working a shift, but decided he was going to take just a small break to go see his shrimpy.
âShrimpy.â Yuu heard Floydâs voice as he came from behind them and squeezed them. Grim got fed up from wanting to take a nap and Floyd so he did what his instinct told him to do.
âGrim.â Yuu called as there were lines that started to bleed on Floydâs arm. Grim had scratched Floyd and he didnât look pleasant with that. Yuu pulled Grim away as Jade looked shocked watching the interaction.
âBrother let me go get the first aid kit.â Jade spoke walking off as Floyd exhaled and walked away. Baby seal is getting a talking to tomorrow and not a fun one.
Yuu had caught the eye of Rook. Naturally from not being from his world he took interest in the Prefect and fell for their beauty. Rook is a gentle poetic lover meaning the Prefect is his muse. Rook has definitely caught on that Grim does not like him, but would never think Grim would go as far to destroy his pieces of work to protect Yuu. Rook would send letters and Poetry to Yuu every day, and even went as far to handing the letters directly to Yuu before grim threw them away, not caring about either oneâs opinions.Â
Rook deemed it as a challenge and decided he would use any means necessary to make sure the prefect knows they are valued and appreciated. Rook is simply a poet and Yuu is simply his muse; he wishes to know every bit of them if they decide to leave his world.
Even if Yuu decided to leave in a poet's eyes the muse lives on forever.

Special mention
Grim is dead before he can intervene with the courtship of him and his child of man (/hj)
â The one-braincell duo is completely stunned at how carelessly fearless you act with Malleus. Calling the big bad dragon heir a nickname and inviting him out for friendly outings? You must be out of your little human mind...
â Genre: Platonic Fluff!Â
â Word Count: 1644.
âTsunotaro!â
âLetâs go out again today, alright?âÂ
âI had so much fun, didnât you Tsunotaro?âÂ
âSee you again soon!âÂ
These, all normal things you said to the person you knew as âTsunotaroâ. Even after spending so much time with the mysterious man, you hadnât worked out his true identity. Not even batting an eye at the way people recoiled from the both of you when you walked on school grounds or in shopping strips. Sure the horns were something youâd questioned before, but you didnât know if it was a sensitive topic for him, so you never really asked.Â
Moving to the present time, you sat on a dark wooden bench near the fence of the Ramshackle dorm, swinging your feet carelessly. Your gaze directed toward the sky glossing over different shapes of fluffy white clouds. The color of the sky was a vibrant pink mixed with warm undertones of orange and red, creating a rather breathtaking sunset. Your hands resided in your lap, folded in waiting.Â
Your eyes suddenly caught on a light green flash from the left side of your peripherals. Turning your head to gaze at the scattering fireflies a small smile made its way onto your lips. There Malleus Draconia stood, his gaze locked on yours, eyes riddled with surprise.Â
âYouâre early, Y/N.â He remarked, slowly starting to walk over to you.Â
You nodded as curiosity filled your senses. âI finally found out how you get here so easily..âÂ
As Malleus reached the bench his eyes trained on you as he waited for your next move. Would this finally be the moment you realized who he truly was? How much power he really held? But no such moment came as he suddenly heard the footsteps of two others, carried along the wind.Â
You, of course, heard nothing yet as you didnât posses anywhere near the abilities he did. So you still sat in wonder before letting out a long drawn out sigh. âI still canât figure out who you are, Tsunotaro.âÂ
The male smiled as his eyes narrowed into a smug expression. He crossed his arms before turning his head towards the beaten path that lead to Ramshackle. In the distance, he could easily recognize two figures from Heartslabyul.Â
âWell, I believe those two you spend your time with most are coming over, perhaps you could ask them.â Malleus responded, the wording coming out seemingly as if he was jealous.Â
Your head turned towards the path and your gaze directed towards the both of their faces. Ace and Deuce, turned to each other making jokes and laughing. Ace teasing poor Deuce, who was normally always subjected to the playful remarks. Their uniforms worn in the usual fashion, Aceâs seeming to be more undone and disheveled then usual.Â
âHey you two!â You called from your seat on the bench as they began to near closer.Â
They turned their attention to where you were seated, Malleus stood directly beside you. Suddenly stopping in their tracks, gazes trained on the man beside you. You tilted your head in confusion before standing up and looking over at Malleus.Â
His eyes seemed to be narrowed and giving off a faint glow of green light. He was, quite literally, the text book definition of intimidating. Shaking your head, you reached up waving a hand in front of his face to break his gaze from the two completely stunned males. His eyes loosing the faint flow of iridescent green as he directed his gaze down to you.Â
âWhatâs the matter?â You asked.Â
The horned-male simply shook his head as a smirk made its way to his features. âNothing, nothing at all.â He then slowly reached out and placed a gloved hand on your head, offering a few small pats. âYou worry too much.â
You simply shook your head and sported a now bashful smile. Looking down to avoid the males gaze you quickly turned around to go greet your friends instead. Once youâd arrived in front of them, they looked as if theyâd just seen a ghost.Â
âAre you guys alright..?â You asked slowly, gaze darting back and forth between the two.
âDo.. Do you even know who that is!?â Ace whisper-yelled as he leveled his face with yours to properly look you in the eyes. âYou have to be out of your mind!âÂ
You looked over to Deuce who seemed to be thinking the same thing as he was hurriedly nodding after every word Ace said. You sighed before speaking, âNo, I donât know his real name so I just call him Tsunotaro. Why..? Should I know who he is?âÂ
Now the both of them looked at you like you had two heads or maybe even three. Ace leaned in closer to you before placing both of his hands on your shoulder blades. âThatâs Malleus Draconia.âÂ
Your eyes widened for a split second before drawing in a breath. You shrugged him off before nodding and placing a hand on your chin. âThat actually makes a lot of sense.âÂ
âHow can you be so calm about this!?â Ace responds with an appalled expression.Â
âWell he hasnât hurt me at all yet or even tried to.â You paused as you turned to the side, eyes gazing at the dark-haired male who was now seated on the bench you previously were. âI see no reason to treat him any differently.âÂ
The two males shook their heads before Ace began to speak again. âIâm assuming Grim is inside, yeah? Well then Iâll let myself in.âÂ
With no second thought, he walked past you leaving you with Deuce. Deuce looked like he wanted to follow after the red-haired boy, but he turned to you first. âMake sure to let me.. us.. know if he tries anything odd okay?âÂ
You give Deuce a look before waving your hand in front of your face. âIâll be fine Deuce, thank you though.âÂ
He nodded once more before starting after Ace. You turned and watched the two males walk through the gate before slowly closing it behind them. Walking back over to Malleus you let out a rather large sigh before sitting down beside him.Â
âI finally figured out who you really are, Tsunotaro.âÂ
The horned-male beside you tilted his head before letting out a chuckle under his breath. âYet you still continue to call me by that silly nickname you came up with.âÂ
âWould you like me to call you by your real name?â You asked after a short moment of silence. âMalleus Draconia.â The name felt odd on your tongue in comparison to Tsunotaro.Â
A smirk tugged at his lips before he responded. âYou know no fear, child of man. You still continue to speak to me without a care in the world, despite knowing my identity. Youâre either oblivious to what Iâm truly capable of, or plain foolish.âÂ
You stifled a laugh at his last comment. âNo no, donât get me wrong itâs surprising that youâre that Malleus Draconia. But I just donât feel the need to shy away from you simply because I know who you are now.â You shifted around on the bench so you were facing the male slightly. âI guess Iâm just saying that I trust you by now.âÂ
Malleusâs eyes widened at your words, he nearly look perplexed at them even. âTrust me?âÂ
âWell yeah, if you wanted to do anything I feel like you already would have. Besides, why risk me actually finding out who you really are if you wanted to hurt me.â You responded with a lazy shrug.
âHm. I suppose you have a point there.â He responded before looking up at the now darkened sky. âBut I certainly wouldâve thought you would be more apprehensive when around me after finding out.âÂ
âAgain, you being all mighty and powerful doesnât matter to me.â You said, probably a little too relaxed. âI know you could easily kick my ass in a fight, even without being Malleus Draconia. I have no magic after all. Youâve also helped me a good bit thus far, so thanks for that too.âÂ
He stared at you in thought for a moment before standing up. âWell I suppose Iâll see you tomorrow then. Maybe we could venture out to the shopping district, I found a rather quaint cafĂ© out there I believe youâd like.âÂ
âAre you inviting me out now, Malleus?â You responded, feigning surprise.Â
âConsider it my treat for not running away screaming, Y/N.â He responded with a smirk.Â
You let a pleased smile lay itself upon your lips before raising your hand to wave goodbye. âIâll see you tomorrow Tsunotaro!âÂ
Malleus let out one final chuckle before vanishing in a flurry of green fireflies once more.Â
âYes, tomorrow is sure to hold something wonderful for the two of us.â

When the words "I love you" spill from the prefect's lips, how do the Housewardens react?
Part 1
TW: Kissing in Malleus' part, forehead kisses, mentions of insecurities (Fluff)
Part 2 (Separate): Kalim Al-Asim, Vil Schoenheit, Idia Shroud, Malleus Draconia
á„«áĄ. Kalim Al-Asim á„«áĄ.
Like the scorching sun in the Scalding Sands, Kalim's feelings for you burned deep within his heart. Why is it that he wants to spend time with you, but the moment he does, his heart seems to stop? Why is it that the word 'friend' bugs him when associated with you? Why is it that he wants to be selfish, to hog you for himself? His mind become's mush whenever you're near and his throat feels dry, he just feels so shy.
Kalim is everything but shy.
Expensive gifts, prized heirlooms, rare gemstones, and any luxury you could name- he'll give it all to you, so why do you reject? Anyone else would accept his gifts with open arms, encouraging him to give more. Wait, you aren't anyone, you're you. You don't take, you give. Despite the little you have in this new world, you who harbors no magic, gives him joy. You spend time with him, you care for him, and you don't take from him- he really wishes you would.
Take his riches and look back at him just one more time, he swears he'll hand you all the gold he can acquire. So please, please just look at him more.
You're caring, so much so that he could just melt in your arms. How lucky he feels when you look at him, but why? Jamil looks at him too, he doesn't feel as if mice are tickling him then. No, when you're around, all he can see is you. You who shines brighter than any gemstone his wealth could buy. You are not a prize to be won, he knows, but he wishes that the glitters of gold could woo you, make him your number one.
He feels so lost and it hurts, nights spent sobbing away.
Kalim, the name alone makes you smile. Someone who's kind despite all that he's faced, all the horrible people he's met- he still believes in the good of people. Some call it naivety, you call it 'a heart of gold'. Yes, he's sheltered, there's some things he's slow at, and he has flaws. Despite said flaws, he want to become better and you see him try every single day. You've seen how he makes everyone comfortable, always including anyone and everyone, how he's akin to a drop of sunshine. It's a rarity and you appreciate it greatly. Twisted Wonderland, it's new to you and things are difficult but when Kalim's there, things don't feel that difficult.
He doesn't look down upon you, he doesn't think you're weak despite having no magic, and he certainly never belittles you- others have and that hurt.
He's always up for some fun, but it always feels better when he can share the fun with you. Thus, flying carpet rides have become your nightly routine. There's a soft knock on your window every other night, a hand extended your way; calling you to live, be happy. You can't help but blush when the carpet takes off, his body huddles closer to yours and the moon seems tease you with how bright she is.
It's another night and he's come to pick you up to go see the Scarabia moon. You're sitting next to each other, the desert seemingly glowing underneath. The stars twinkle and you swear the breeze is cool on purpose, just so the both of you have no choice but to lean into each other. Hands intertwine, both of you looking the other way, cheeks red like cherries.
"I..I love you."
You fumble out on mistake, your breath hitching the moment you realize. His head whips towards you, garnet eyes appraising your blushing visage. A soft smile appears on his lips, his sun-kissed skin peachy with a blush of his own.
"I love you too."
He says eagerly, hands wrapping around you as he pulls you in. The moon looks bigger, the stars winking at you, and the scent of sandalwood engulfs you. A soft kiss is planted on your forehead, one that lingers. Like a pair of sea otters, you both hold the other's hand.
á„«áĄ. Vil Schoenheit á„«áĄ.
Center of attention, even the room's filled to the brim with pretty faces. Eyes the color of violets and a smile that's so striking, it could cut right through you. Just how a bright star commands everyone's admiration, Vil himself does exactly that. With beauty that's akin to a velvety rose, thorns sharp and drawing blood of the one who dares touch. He's not sure why he's so fond of you, really, it baffles him. Your constant babbling should bother him- your posture isn't perfect, you don't regularly use the products he recommends to you, and your diet could use improving.
He only recently realized the perfection of imperfection. That's what you are, like an abstract piece of art that can draw even the most elegant man's heart. Truly, you can take his breath and keep it, which is a difficult feat to accomplish. Yet, you seem to have done just that.
He doesn't like how drawn he is to you, the you who could improve so much. Nevertheless, he can't deny how his heart flutters when you ramble on and on, the words you spew seem like pearls to him. Undeniably, you've got his heart, and it bothers him.
Vil seems unreachable to you, as if he's a god and you're a follower. You can see him, but you can't touch. Everything about him is captivating- the way he moves, how he walks, how he talks, everything. You feel like a toad in front of him sometimes. Still, the reason your heart continues to flutter is not his beauty but how soft he can be. His words may be harsh, telling you to fix your posture or add a certain product to your skincare, but he means well. It used to irk you, how he pointed out your flaws, but he never touched an insecurity- it was never something you couldn't fix. Many times, he only tells you how to improve and that's in his nature. It started with you muttering curses under your breath, now all you do is give him a dopey smile as he flicks your forehead.
It's hard to love Vil, and you're sure that it's even harder to be loved by him. He's untouchable and you're not sure if he'll even spare you a glance. But, the nights you spend at his dorm, him tending to your skin as you blabber about your day. Or the few rarities when he opens up, speaking of his insecurities. It shows how human he is; how he too, can feel.
It's another night at his dorm, your skin's worsened as of late and Vil's ordered you to give him a visit. You sit at his vanity, the light's so bright that it could blind you, but what truly blinds you is Vil himself in all his glory. His dampened hair, the ends the color of wisteria, and the scent of patchouli just makes you want to melt right then and there. He strides over with a new product in his hand, carefully beginning to massage your face with it.
"I love you."
The words come out instantly, his hands stopping in motion as his violet eyes widen. A sheepish blush coats your face as you realize what you said. Your breath hitches, the fear of rejection drilling into your mind, and your heart drumming against your chest.
"That's quite bold of you, sweet potato.."
He lets out a small chuckle, eyes holding content. He leans closer before flicking you on the forehead gently.
"I love you too."
á„«áĄ. Idia Shroud á„«áĄ.
The buzz of video games, the stench on junk food, and an interest for oddities. Idia Shroud was a wallflower, yet you'd managed to befriend him, something he's truly grateful for- your presence. He liked you. You understood him, you never belittled him for what he enjoyed, in fact, you encouraged him to continue. No matter how good or bad you were at a game, you'd play alongside him. It didn't matter whether you enjoyed his rambles, you'd listen no matter what, before babbling on and on about something of your own interest. Nights like this, filled with games, reading manga, watching anime, and spending time with you- he never wanted these to end.
You were brave, so unlike him. You had no magic, still you managed to show courage, to fight against overblots. How he wished he was you, no, how he wished he was yours. The realization hit him like a truck in an isekai, quickly and out of nowhere. When he figured he liked you, he didn't let you anywhere near him for a week- opting to hide in his room and not leave. It took some convincing from Ortho and also the fact that you may dislike him if he ignored you, before he opened his doors for you once again. Nevertheless, he was skittish, averting his gaze from your face, and sitting on the other end of the couch when you visited. That worried you, you were sure you'd messed up big time and he became uneasy around you because of it. Thankfully everything became normal after two weeks, he was sure he wouldn't be able to recover.
The truth was, you liked him too. It was weird and something unforeseen, you both started out as friends- you'd visit his dorm, play games all night, munch on junk together, and then laugh at all the cringe characters in the current anime you both were binging on. Right now, you were experiencing that cheesy crush from a shoujo manga, and the feeling was messing with your brain.
The gloomy boy you pined for was everything but dreamy, somehow, that's what made him so charming to you. Hair an electric blue that flared up like flames, pale skin akin to porcelain, and eyes yellow like daffodils. His physicality was mesmerizing but there was so much more to his character too. He was passionate about what he enjoyed, jabbering on for hours about his interest, something that you didn't mind one bit. He was competitive, striking a triumphant grin whenever he'd win a game against you. He's prideful too, his creations making him an utter genius. At the same time, he held such emotion, a man who would never judge for he himself experienced the badmouthing of others.
There's just something about Idia, something that makes your cheeks flare up. You're not sure if he notices how his presence can make you skittish, how you become timid when he's near, and how divine he seems to you. He never notice how he makes you feel, how ironic that you become just like him when he's near.
Just like the usual, you're cooped up in his dorm alongside him. You've been binging an anime for the past few hours and the way he's so focused on the characters while you're so focused on him, it bothers you. He feels so close yet so far and the fact that you're having such thoughts about the whole situation, makes you feel stupid.
"I love you.."
You immediately pause at your own words, Idia pauses the show too. There's a long silence in the room and before you know it, Idia's moved far away from you. His hair's become an electric pink and his eyes are wide.
"W-w-w-what..!?"
He exclaims the words as if he's animated, the feeling of fluster surging throughout him. Were you playing a joke on him? This wasn't right, it couldn't be. His gaze averts the other way every time you look at him and he won't admit it, but he really hopes you're not joking.
"I love you, Idia."
You say again, softer this time and you yourself look the other way, peachy blush coating your face. You're cursing yourself for speaking up, palms sweaty and clammy. You feel dizzy and your breathing is erratic , the feeling's mutual. The room's silent again, no one says anything and the only sound either of you can hear is the buzz of the computer.
"I...I...I dove, no, love you too.."
He mutters out, fumbling his words while he does. You both look at each other, shy gaze. Your lips form a small smile, making Idia's hair flare an even brighter pink. His face is rosy and he'd rather not look at you but you're just so pretty that he can't help but look.
You're not sure how it things fell in place but he accepted your confession, and now you've somehow managed to cuddle up to him. He's stiff but that's fine, the mere fact that he's holding your hand tightly is enough to reassure you. That, and how smug he looks.
á„«áĄ. Malleus Draconia á„«áĄ.
Child of man, you truly are peculiar. Malleus Draconia, the name alone makes millions, if not billions, tremble to the bone. He holds such unrivaled power that the thought alone is fearsome- he is fearsome.
A monster, that's what many would call him, but you don't. No one dares approach him as carelessly as you do, a bumbling smile on your lips as you walk next to him without a care in the world. Do you truly not know what he's capable of? 'Tsunotaro', that's what you've named him- quite bold of you, not that he minds. Please continue to enlighten him about human practices, he's interested in every thing you have to say.
Loneliness is a disease that he's suffered from since his childhood. It's second nature to be alone with his own presence, silence a bandage that covers but doesn't heal his wounds. Yet, the way you come to him, invite him to all your little events, how you choose him. How can he be lonely when he has you?
You, who is so bright like a star coated in gold- is he even allowed to go near you? It feels as if you'll break in his hands, yet you seem so brave, putting yourself in danger with a smile. You've got his heart in your hands and it hurts that you don't realize.
'Friend' was a word he grew to love, knowing the special bond you shared. Nevertheless, it's the same word that has caused Diasomnia to have horrible whether for the past week- you're a friend to many but a lover to none. Be his, child of man, he's the only one worthy enough to call you his.
Since the day of his realization, Malleus follows you as a second shadow would. Now, no one with ill intentions would dare approach what he's already considered his. Truly, how precious you are. Giving him small shiny pebbles you find, trying to tuck daisies into his hair but being unable to reach his head, and the times you try to tease him as a joke, making the silliest of faces. Please tell him that he's the only one who has the honor of seeing you in such various forms. Dragons are hoarders, you know? And he wants nothing but to hoard you all for himself.
Spending time with your Tsunotaro is always fulfilling. His knowledge on gargoyles, the depth in which he speaks of them and how little he knows of human interactions. It all makes your heart flutter, eliciting a smile on your lips. It's not difficult to have feelings for someone such as him, it comes naturally. He seems so intimidating, dangerous even and it's not that he's not- he is, but there's so much more to him. He's curious, always listening to what you have to say. He's sweet, always handing you gifts whether small or unimaginably grand. And the manner in which he speaks, the elegance he holds, he's just as charming as any prince in a book- if not more.
When you began actually having feelings for him, all his words seemed to make your mind all fuzzy. Could he really not tell how his vocabulary affected you? 'My dear', 'my love', and all other forms of endearments had become a usual, so much so, that it felt right.
You went on walks with him, spotting gargoyles and chatting about them. Sometimes you drag him to picnics with and he happily follows, letting you braid his ebony hair. Still, not everything you shared seemed friend-like, and if it was, you didn't want it to be. The way his emerald eyes gazed over you, how his touch lingered so gently, and how his lips brushed agains your ear when he said he'll keep you safe. It couldn't mean nothing, you didn't want it to.
A walk in a meadow at nighttime, how strange, but also the daily for you. You walk alongside Malleus, skittish and timid- this isn't how you usually act. The moon's peeking out from under the clouds and casting a silver sheen on all that it lands on. Fireflies scurry around slowly, the cool night air making you feel at ease- but it's not enough.
Your face is flushed and you won't meet his gaze, he's not sure what he did wrong. His frame towers behind you as you seem to walk quicker, increasing your pace. Hurt, that's what he feels; did you start seeing him as a monster too?
You can't leave, please- he'll beg if he has to, give you all of what he has and can create. Promise you'll stay, and don't ever leave.
Then you pause, turning around as you take deliberate steps towards him. You look up, your smaller frame covered by his daunting shadow.
"I love you, Tsunotaro."
You say with a certain melancholy in your voice, as if you know he'll reject you and your love. How could he ever think of rejecting? He'd rather pierce his own heart and bleed to death than ever think of rejecting any of your words.
His viridescent eyes widen, the glow of them seeming intense. His hands holds you in place gently, he seems to be staring at you, looking you as if you're the most fragile piece of glass. The words don't spill out of his lips and you look more desolate by the second- he seemingly can't speak, he's not sure if this is but a dream.
"I love you too, child of man. So much that you wouldn't believe it."
His hands wrap you in a desperate embrace, almost as desperate as the words he'd just managed to choke out. It was as if you would wither away if he let go, as if he was making sure you were not a dream.
Your own eyes widen, lips parting shock at his words. The night seems magical and his embrace is sincere. He pries away from you only to look at you more, all your expressions- please continue to show such faces to only him. Only he should see you like this, with your face flushed red and eyes widened as you stare at him as though he's the only man in the world. His hands seem shaky, unlike who he usually is.
No, he seems so vulnerable and you seem to be his vulnerability.
Everything seems alright when you're there, he doesn't feel loneliness; far from it, actually. He doesn't feel like a monster when you love him, when your own arms loosely wrap around his neck as you pull him in for a soft kiss- no, monster's don't get such luxuries.

â    Authorâs: HAPPY BELATED CHRISTMAS, YâALL! Fr though, Iâm so sorry for not posting anything in ages. Iâm sure youâll enjoy this stupidly long story.
âExcuse me, (Sir/Maâam). Excuse me.â A faery maid knocks on the door to (Y/n)âs room. She was assigned to take care of them by Malleusâs order. Not wanting to invade the guestâs privacy, but also not wanting to have them miss their breakfast left them in quite the conundrum. Before knocking one more time, the door opened.
âYes? How may I help you?â
âGood morning, Mr./Mrs. (L/n). Prince Malleus had assigned me to take care of you during your stay here at the castleâ explained the faery maid.
âI see. I hope that we may get along with each other for however long Iâll be staying hereâ said (Y/n) with a smile before turning over to a sleeping Grim. âHey Grim, wake up. Itâs time to eat.â
Grim groaned in annoyance. âFive more minutes, henchmanâŠâ
âYouâll be missing out on some exquisite tuna if you continue to sleepâ stated (Y/n) coyly.
âTUNA?! Why didnât you say soâ shouted Grim as he ran toward (Y/n). âBy the way, youâre gonna give Lilia that list during breakfast?â
âOf course. Iâve narrowed it down to a few options, but I still cannot figure out the best oneâ sighed (Y/n).
âA list to Sir Vanrougeâ asked the faery maid, now very confused.
âIâm compiling a list of potential gifts to give Malleus on the day, or rather night, of the Christmas celebration. While I may be a close friend of his, Lilia IS his caretaker, so he should know his tastes better than I ever couldâ explained (Y/n).
The faery maid smiled. âI see. How thoughtful of you. Iâm sure the prince will be pleased by whatever gift you will bestow upon him.â
âThank you. Anyways, gotta grab it now before I forgetâ said (Y/n) before retrieving a folded piece of paper from their desk as well as a red pen. âLetâs head out to the dining hall before Sebek hunts me down & yells my ears off.â
The faery maid became annoyed upon hearing his name. âAre you perhaps referring to that loud-mouthed boy? I swear, Iâm shocked by how he has yet to lose his voice.â
âYou & me bothâ replied (Y/n).
The Ramshackle duo quickly followed the faery maid to the dining hall where Lilia, Malleus & his grandmother, Queen Maleficia, were waiting for their breakfast to arrive. As expected, it was filled to the brim with various servants of the castle.
â(Y/n). Iâm glad that you are here, my loveâ said Malleus, smiling while blushing. He tried so hard to not pout after hearing both his grandmother & Lilia from giggling.
âHi, Malleus. Sorry if I took too long. Anyways, whatâs the plan for this month? I didnât have any in mind given my previous situation back at schoolâ asked (Y/n).
âYou see, the castle staff shall be busy preparing for the Christmas feast. Iâm afraid Iâll be rather busy assisting my grandmother with her part. I hope you can understandâ sighed Malleus.
âDonât worry about it! I understand that itâs part of your duty as the future kingâ replied (Y/n) cheerfully.
âThank you. Rest assured that I shall find the time to be with you during the eventâ said Malleus before discussing the matters of the Christmas party with his grandmother.
While everyone was waiting for their food to arrive, (Y/n) tapped on Liliaâs shoulder. âLilia. Last night, Grim & I made a list of potential gifts to give to Malleus & I need your input badly. Iâve got a limited budget & I promised SucrĂ© some cookies.â
âOh? Letâs see hereâŠâ Lilia had carefully analyzed the full list, including a few options that were crossed out. âNo wonder you needed my assistance. This will not be an easy task as there are many fine options. However, I do believe that this is the perfect gift for himâ said Lilia as he pointed to a specific bullet point. âBy the way, do not worry about your finances as I will assist you in this endeavor.â
âThank you so much, Lilia. Youâre a lifesaverâ cheerfully replied (Y/n). They took out their red pen & circled the gift Lilia recommended they get for Malleus so they donât forget.
Before long, everyoneâs breakfast had arrived. The only people who continued to talk as they ate were the servants, so at least it wasnât complete silence.
For once, Grim ate with some manners. Was it because of his humiliating encounter with the faery librarian? Regardless, he wasnât causing (much) trouble for (Y/n) & thatâs whatâs important.
Once the Draconia family finished their meal, they departed to get started on their work for the day.
Lilia waited for (Y/n) & Grim to finish theirs. â(Y/n), Grim. Iâll be heading out to Holly Town in a bit. Would you two like to come with me?â
âSure! Might as well get a taste on what this kingdom is likeâ replied (Y/n).
âAww. Do I HAVE to go? Iâd rather relax in our roomâ grumbled Grim.
âDonât be like that, Grim. Youâd be surprised by the kinds of foods my people can offerâ chuckled Lilia.
The microsecond Grim heard the word âfoods,â he looked at Lilia in surprise. âWhat?! Food!â
âYes. Their world-renowned gingerbread castles, roasted duck & turkey, cranberry sauce & yule log are nothing to laugh at! People have to place orders weeks in advance & certain products such as the gingerbread castle will not be shipped internationally because the magic used to maintain their structural integrity could fade away over time. Even the castle staff members that are in charge of ordering the food for the feast sometimes encounter difficulties.â
âAre you serious?! Weâd better get going prontoâ panicked poor (Y/n).
At the entrance to Holly TownâŠ
A cobblestone wall surrounds the city & an elegant cherry wood door with ornate carvings stands proudly. A group of soldiers can be seen inspecting visitors before permitting them to enter.
âLilia. I know you said this place gets busy during the holidays, but this is utterly ridiculousâ cried (Y/n).
Because of the sheer beauty & size of Holly Town, there were numerous people of various races (mostly fae) entering & exiting the place.
âThereâs gonna be nothing left for us to buy when we get inâ said Grim with exasperation. âWe gotta find a way to sneak past them.â
âThereâs no need for that. Allow me to speak to one of the guardsâ assured Lilia. He approaches one of the guards & greets them. âGreetings, sir.â
The moment the guard saw him, he saluted him. âSir Vanrouge! It is an honor to see you! How may I be of service?â
âMy friends & I wish to enter this beautiful townâ stated Lilia before being granted access. He gestures (Y/n) & Grim to follow him. âStay by my side, you two. I donât want you two to get lost.â
Both (Y/n) & Grim nodded. Their nervousness turned to admiration after seeing the European-style homes & their elegant decorations.
(Y/n) noticed two things they all had in common: at least one type of decoration incorporated hollies & a large, elegant symbol was carved into the front doors which they surmised was the crest of the family that owned the house.
Grim, now sitting on (Y/n)âs shoulder, saw the pretty light emanating from a nearby lamp post & jumped to get a closer look. To his surprise, he found himself in Liliaâs arms. âAgh! Donât scare me like that!â
âI canât help it. You seemed to be a little too fascinated by the lights. Sure theyâre beautiful, but as Iâve said earlier, I donât want you two getting out of my sight. Cell phones have no signal in the Valley of Thorns & you two lack the means of communicating via magic.â
âLilia? Can we stop for a bit? Iâd like to take some pictures with my cellphoneâ asked (Y/n). They started doing so after Lilia agreed to pause & enjoy the winter atmosphere. âI canât wait to see the rest of the town.â
âWe should head over to the plaza then. Thereâs usually several groups of performers that arrive during this time of the yearâ stated Lilia.
At Holly Town centerâŠ
As soon as the trio had arrived, (Y/n) began recording the performers at work. The story they chose was about three ghosts teaching a rich, old man about the consequences of being greedy.
(Y/n) loved the story because it teaches how important it is to show compassion & generosity toward others, especially those less fortunate than others.
Grim, on the other hand, didnât get why one specific old man needed to be taught those lessons, but he did admire the special effects (a.k.a. magic) of the play.
After some time had passed, the trio entered a nearby department store (that had an unknown language written at the front) to get everything for SucrĂ© & Malleusâs gifts.
To say the Ramshackle duo were blown away was an understatement. Seemingly endless rows of toys, sweets, Christmas decorations & much, much more were lining up the large, wooden shelves. However, the staff seem to have trouble keeping them full as many customers seem to be interested in just about everything in their inventory.
âWow. This place is jam packed tooâ muttered (Y/n). Turning to Lilia, they said âItâs no wonder youâre having to stand next to me the whole time. I would be scared of navigating the entire place by myself.â
âDo not worry, Your Majesty, for I shall protect you with my lifeâ Lilia joked.
(Y/n) blushed. âStop it, Lilia. Youâre making me think of being married to Ma- Tsunotarou.â They were afraid of causing a mass panic among the masses by saying Malleusâs name out loud, so they resorted to referring to him strictly by his nickname. It does sound nice being able to spend the rest of my days with Malleus, though. To wake up every morning being kissed by him, working alongside him & more importantly⊠growing old with him. Iâd do ANYTHING to get a happy ending like that.
Unbeknownst to (Y/n), they were blushing. Grim & Lilia noticed & looked at each other before the latter chuckled.
âOk, Your Excellency. We better get moving.â The bat fae dragged (Y/n) to the area of the store where they could obtain the materials for Malleusâs gift. âAny idea what exactly youâll be needing?â
(Y/n) looked around in silence. They just couldnât remove the image of being Malleusâs spouse out of their head. It got to the point where they started picking random items that even Grim wasnât sure were necessary for the gift.
Sighing happily, Lilia tapped (Y/n)âs shoulder. He helped them return the unneeded products back to their proper place. To think that Malleus would be in love & his feelings are reciprocated. At least he chose a kind-hearted person like (Y/n). If they do not get married soon, then Malleus may find himself feeling lonelier than ever. How can I prevent such a tragedy from occurring?⊠I got it! The castle library! Its fireplace is the perfect setting for a romantic confession!
âGreat. First my henchman & now Lilia? It better not happen to me tooâ Grim mumbled.
âLilia? Is something the matterâ asked (Y/n).
âNot at all. What else do you needâ Lilia asked.
(Y/n) listed a few items they needed, some of which were personal.
Lilia nodded & he helped (Y/n) finish up their shopping for the day.
Once all was said & done, the trio spent a little more time in Holly Town, admiring the decorations, taking a few pictures with the locals, etc. Of course, there were a couple of instances where Grim attempted to cause mischief by stealing some food, but Liliaâs lightning fast reflexes prevented him from doing so. Despite this, they had a wonderful time & before they knew it, it was well past dinnertime.
Upon returning to the castle, (Y/n) was surprised to see everyone in a panic. âUmmm⊠Lilia? How long were we gone for?â
That answer would soon be answered by Malleus as he rushed over to his friend & caretaker. âLilia! (Y/n)! There you are!â He hugged them both tightly before glaring at them. "Where were you two?! The two of you were gone the entire day!"
Chuckling nervously, (Y/n) pulled out a box of muffins. "Care for some muffins, Malleus? We got them from a bakery in Holly Town."
"While I do appreciate any & all baked goods from that place, I can't deny that I feel upset not knowing where you two were. As punishment, you shall be spending the rest of the day as well as tomorrow under my supervision, (Y/n). Do you understand?"
Feeling embarrassed, (Y/n) replied "I understand, Tsunotarou. I just wanted to make sure I could get you something for Christmas this year. I'm not telling you what it is, of course."
"A present? For me? Well, I'll be looking forward to it."
On the day of the partyâŠ
(Y/n) observed the embellished dance hall with stars in their eyes. âWow. This whole place looks absolutely gorgeous. The guests look about as fancy as Iâd expect them to be.â They turn to look at the fae maid that took care of them this whole time. âI truly cannot thank you enough for making this outfit for me. I donât know what I wouldâve done had you not been there for me.â
The fae maid giggled. âWhy thank you. I do enjoy sewing & when Lord Lilia had informed me of your situation, I just couldnât resist making clothes for you. How many did I make for you again?â
âEnough to fill a closet⊠I havenât even been here for a month, yet you managed to pull off such a daunting task. This makes me wonder what else youâre capable of that I donât knowâ (Y/n) wondered aloud.
âTeehee. Thatâs a secret. What isnât a secret is that the dance shall begin soonâ replied the fae maid.
As if on cue, music filled the room & everyone except the Draconia family began to look for anyone to dance with.
Even if (Y/n) knew the basics of ballroom dancing, they didnât want to make a fool of themselves by heading over to the dance floor.
âYou canât enjoy the festivities in the corner, you knowâ said Lilia after appearing out of nowhere.
Both (Y/n) & Grim shrieked from surprise while the fae maid simply rolled her eyes.
âLilia! Whatâs it gonna take for you to not give us a heart attackâ asked (Y/n) angrily. âYouâre lucky I didnât drop my present to Malleus. By the way, when can I give it to him? I donât want to spend the entire party carrying it around.â
âIâll take care of that for youâ replied Lilia, taking the present before walking away.
(Y/n) really didnât want to dance, but they had a feeling Lilia was going to offer himself as a dance partner & they had a bad feeling his dancing techniques were⊠interesting to say the least.
âPardon me, (Y/n), but would you mind dancing with me? I have only arrived just now.â
(Y/n) turned around &, much to their astonishment, saw Sucré approaching them. He wore a stunning green suit that complimented his ghostly pale complexion & blond hair. His slicked back hair allowed anyone to get a better view of his amber-colored eyes.
âSucrĂ©! Boy am I glad to see you. You look handsome, you knowâ said (Y/n). âAnd yes. Iâd like to dance with you.â
âLikewise.â SucrĂ© gently took (Y/n)âs hand while smiling. âLet us not waste any more time.â After the duo set foot on the dance floor, he wrapped one arm around their waist & held their hand with the other.
To (Y/n)âs luck, the first song the musicians played was a slow one. They feared the possibility of stepping on SucrĂ©âs foot, so they felt at ease. âSucrĂ©. Iâve noticed that quite a lot of people are staring at least one of us. Do I look that bizarre?â
âNot at all. Theyâre staring at me because I almost never leave the magical archives. I do not believe thereâs anything wrong with that, though. After all, the existence of fae, merfolk, beastmen & humans fascinates me. Iâd like to understand how each group came into existence & how each group manages to coexist despite their differences.â
âI understand you completely. As someone who lacks magic & comes from a magicless world, Iâd like to know why some worlds have it while others donât & why certain races are more magically inclined than others.â
âIâm glad someone understands my philosophy of life. Itâs not often I meet others who wish to know more about the intricacies of their world. Most would make poor excuses for things they donât understand instead of conducting thorough research. Life would be so much easier for them if they stopped gossiping for once.â
âWhile the pursuit of knowledge is an admirable goal, thereâs likely certain things out there that are never meant to be understood by anyone other than those of divine status. After all, too much curiosity could lead someone to a rather dark path.â
SucrĂ©, pursing his lips, expressed that he at least wished people wouldnât be so judgemental about the educational background of others or how they chose to spend their time if it doesnât harm anyone.
(Y/n) agreed wholeheartedly with him.
Meanwhile, both Malleus & Queen Maleficia couldnât believe who they saw on the dance floor.
âMy grandson. Is that by any chance SucrĂ©?â
âThat seems to be the case. What could have possibly caused him to be outside the magical archives? My dear (Y/n) truly is full of surprises.â Malleus couldnât help but watch his beloved dance. If only their dance partner was himâŠ
Queen Maleficia chuckled when she saw her grandsonâs slight pout. âOh my. How uncouth of you to express jealousy in public. Do something to wipe that expression off your face.â
âI shall in a few minutes, Grandmother.â
Once the song ended, both Sucré & (Y/n) were in the very center of the dance floor.
âSomehow, I never stepped on your foot once, although there mustâve been multiple close calls. I was nervous the whole time thinking I would ruin this moment for you by doing thatâ sighed Yuu with relief.
Letting go of (Y/n), SucrĂ© smiled. âWhile you may have much to learn about dancing, it certainly wasnât that bad. Iâm more surprised that I managed to retain all the information I acquired from my dance lessons. I was quite young when I last had them.â
âSubconscious memory, I suppose.â (Y/n) began to see people in front of them moving to the side as Malleus began to walk toward them. He looked as handsome & regal as always with his suit & matching cape. âTsunotarou?â
âHmm? Is that how you address the prince? What a silly nicknameâ chuckled SucrĂ©.
âIt is a silly nickname that I shall wear with pride, SucrĂ©â retorted Malleus as he now stood directly in front of the two. âMay I ask why you decided to make a public appearance now? I fail to recall you as the type that enjoys public events.â
âI simply wished to thank your dear friend for the cookies they baked for me as well as  the time theyâve spent with me. Ever since that accidental encounter of ours, they have displayed quite an interest in my hobbies. I fail to see the issue here, Your Highness.â
âMy issue here is that their first dance wasnât with me.â Malleus wasnât too pleased to be robbed of such a special occasion from (Y/n) & his expression made that very clear.
âDo I sense jealousy within you? You have a public image to maintain, you knowâ said SucrĂ©, smirking.
âYou should know how much (Y/n) means to meâ retorted Malleus.
Not wanting the situation to get any worse, (Y/n) stood between both fae men while glaring at them. âGuys, thatâs enough.â Looking at Malleus, their expression softened. âIf youâd like, my next dance shall be with you. What do you say?â
âIâd appreciate that.â
âTo see the young prince in love is something I never imagined. I shall leave you two lovebirds ample space to dance freely.â SucrĂ© walked to stand alongside the other guests, not caring how flustered (Y/n) became.
âWhat?! Get back here-â
âDo not worry about him, my love. As reclusive as he is, he still enjoys teasing others as does most of faekind.â Looking at the musicians, Malleus nodded so as to order them to play once again.
They all looked at each other & knew what song they had to play. Soon enough, the whole room was filled with a song so well known for encapsulating the love between two royals.
âThis song. Itâs-â
Malleus hummed to the music as he began taking his first steps with (Y/n).
(Y/n) tried their best to follow along, but had a little difficulty staying focused with how charming Malleus looked.
Sighing, SucrĂ© casted a spell that would allow (Y/n) to dance more gracefully. He wasnât going to permit his new friend from embarrassing themselves in front of everyone.
Once the musicians began to sing, Malleusâs smile grew wider.
For a moment in time, (Y/n) forgot that people were watching the two of them. They never couldâve imagined themselves falling in love with a prince, much less having the opportunity to form a relationship with said prince. It was hard for them to not giggle like a young child. After all, they were living in a literal fairytale. When the song had come to an end, (Y/n) thanked Malleus for the dance & that they would rest for a while.
Malleus decided that (Y/n) should stay by his side for the rest of the party. After his banter couldnât risk anyone trying to seduce them. He offered them his arm & walked to where his grandmother stood.
âThat was quite the wonderful performance from you two.â Queen Maleficiaâs smile turned into a frown as she looked at Malleus. âI will have to scold you once this celebration is over, however.â
At the dining hallâŠ
(Y/n) was simply astonished by the variety of food that was being served. Sure, there were several soups & stews, but there were several that theyâve never seen. They noticed Grim trying to scarf down his meal, but a stern warning was enough for him to eat properly.
âI take it that you find your meal delectable, correctâ asked Malleus to (Y/n).
âOf course. I wish I could eat like this every day.â
Smiling, Malleus thought I would like for that as well.
At the castle library after the partyâŠ
While (Y/n) enjoyed the party, they were tired as hell. Despite this, Lilia instructed them to head over to the castleâs library. Why does he want me to be here? I just want to sleep. Their question was answered when they got to the fireplace where they saw Malleus sitting on the couch. âTsunotarou! Iâm really happy to see you.â Sitting down on the couch allowed them to notice their gift to him on his lap. âI hope youâll like what I made for you.â
âIâm certain I will.â Carefully removing the wrapping paper, Malleus opened the box containing his gift. His eyes widened at the sight of it. â(Y/n).â Lifting it from the box, he was able to get a better look. âIâm truly speechless. What a wonderful gift you have given me. I will cherish it forever.â
âAww. Thank you. Hmm? Why are you upset?â
âI was unable to provide you with a Christmas gift. I deeply apologize, my sweet (Y/n).â
âI thought inviting both Grim & I WAS the gift!â
âNo. That was simply me not wanting you to suffer in that dilapidated dorm with no one but that feline & the ghosts. I am truly ashamed that I couldnât have at least ordered one of my servants to procure a gift that would satisfy you.â
âHmmm⊠How about a kiss? I mean, we do have our occasional romantic & even intimate moments, but I still cherish each of them as if it were my first.â
Smiling, Malleus replied âIf that is what my love wants, then who am I to object?â After carefully setting his gift aside on a small table, he turns to face (Y/n) with an abnormally serious expression. âPlease let me know when you wish for me to stop.â His expression softened a bit & he wrapped one arm around (Y/n)âs waist while placing a hand at the back of their head. He leans toward them, allowing their lips to come into contact.
Closing the doors to the library, Queen Maleficia & Lilia looked at each other.
âWhen do you suppose that the wedding shall occur, Sir Vanrouge?â
âIâd say after a few more years.â

After finding a travel suitcase for (Y/n) & Grim, Lilia returned to the Ramshackle dorm.
(Y/n) thanked Lilia & started packing everything they could.
âAs Iâve said earlier, weâll be heading over to the Mirror Chamber tomorrow morning. Donât worry about setting an alarm as I, Silver, Sebek & Malleus, will pick you both upâ said Lilia as he explained the plans for tomorrow.
âI canât thank you & Tsunotarou enough for this. Every time I thought of everyone but Grim & I having fun over the holidays, I just got more depressedâ replied (Y/n) in a sad tone.
âSame with me! The Great Grim refused to accept spending the holidays with meager rations & shivering from the coldâ yelled Grim.
âYouâre welcome, you twoâ said Lilia before looking at (Y/n). âBefore you met Malleus, he never had the chance to enjoy his vacations.â
âOh? Well Iâm glad that heâll be looking forward to spending this one with me. Itâs unfortunate that he had to wait for so longâ said (Y/n).
âI agree. His reaction to you two accepting his invitation was something I had hoped for so longâ said Lilia. âI hope you can give Malleus a winter vacation that heâll fondly rememberâ requested Lilia before teleporting back to his dorm.
The next dayâŠ
It was at the crack of dawn that the Diasomnia quartet decided to head over to the Ramshackle dorm to pick (Y/n) & Grim up. Malleus led the way with a huge smile on his face knowing that he wonât spend this holiday break all by himself (again). Upon reaching the Ramshackle dorm, Malleus knocked on the door with a new, profound energy. âChild of Man~! Are you awake yet?â
âHUMAN! DO NOT IGNORE THE YOUNG MASTERâ shouted Sebek as he always does.
âHush now, Sebek. They might be barely awakeâ said Lilia.
âI wouldnât blame them for not wanting to get out of bed so early. This chilly weather makes me want to sle-â said Silver before sleeping while standing. Lilia started to try & wake up Silver which took a lot of effort on his part.
âDoOrâS AlReAdY OpEnEd!â yelled (Y/n) in the most ridiculous voice possible.
Lilia tried his absolute best not to laugh while in the presence of Malleus.
As Malleus opened the door, he made his way to the lounge room where he saw his dear (Y/n) yawning.
âChild of Man. I apologize for having you wake up so early, but I simply cannot wait to take you to my homelandâ said Malleus before giving (Y/n) a tender kiss on their forehead.
âNo worries, Tsunotarou.â said (Y/n) before letting out a yawn & grabbing their suitcase. âLetâs go!â
âOf course. Let us be on our merry wayâ said Malleus while he, (Y/n) & Grim left the Ramshackle dorm together.
As everyone entered the Mirror Chamber, they were surprised to see a lot of students standing around & chatting before letting the Mirror of Darkness transport them to another place.
âWoah! Thereâs a lot more people here than I thoughtâ exclaimed Grim as heâs looking around the room & seeing tons of students.
âI was honestly expecting only a handful of students besides us. Iâm guessing theyâre too excited for the holidays to stay on campus for much longerâ said (Y/n) before spotting the other first years. âAce! Deuce! Epel! Jack!â
The aforementioned first years rushed over & began conversing with (Y/n). Topics ranged from what foods everyone will have from which relatives will be visiting their home. The atmosphere of the room could not be any more jubilant as everyone in the room were having similar conversations. All except Sebek.
âEVERYONE, CLEAR THE WAY! THE NEXT HEAD OF THE VALLEY OF THORNS, ALSO A NOBLE AND GREAT WIZARD, MALLEUS DRACONIA IS HEREâ yelled Sebek as he demanded that Malleus & the rest of his group go through the Mirror of Darkness first.
âSebek, please stop speaking so loudly. Youâll upset everyone in hereâ warned Silver as some students were already whispering to each other.
âMan, does this asshole ever shut up? Heâs so annoyingâ whispered one student to his friend.
âIâm surprised that his vocal cords havenât given up on him already. I only ever hear him yellâ replied the studentâs friend.
âAnd so it begins alreadyâŠâ muttered (Y/n) as theyâre suffering from second-hand embarrassment.
âSebek. Thatâs enough alreadyâ said Lilia.
Not wanting to fall victim to Malleusâs magic, everyone promptly moved out of his way. He & the rest of his group walked closer to the Mirror of Darkness waiting for it to transport them to the Valley of Thorns.
âGoodbye, everyone! Iâll make sure to get you all a belated Christmas presentâ said (Y/n) as they waved goodbye to their fellow first years. They quickly rush over so as to not incur Sebekâs wrath.
At the entrance of Malleusâs castleâŠ
âFnagh! This place is even scarier up closeâ shrieked Grim.
As rude as Grimâs comment was, (Y/n) couldnât help but agree with him. Everything about the castle was a cause for trepidation. Many vines clung to the castle walls, the grotesques have seen better days, the colors lacked any vibrancy & the sky was dark. Â The only source of light, aside from a few torches, was the moon.
âThis place is scary looking. Miles better than the Ramshackle dorm thoughâŠâ muttered (Y/n). They take a step back to get a good look at the castleâs tallest towers & gulp from sheer nervousness.
âFear not, my love. The outside of this castle may look intimidating, but rest assured that the inside is absolutely lovely. I can show you if youâd likeâ replied Mallues as he wraps an arm around (Y/n)âs shoulders. He hoped that (Y/n) wouldnât leave already. Just when he was going to spend the holidays alone once again, they appeared.
âAh! Theyâre hereâ said Lilia in excitement.
âWhoâ asked (Y/n). They look ahead & see some maids & butlers approach the group. As they greet Malleus & Lilia & take everyoneâs bags, a maid gives (Y/n) an odd look before slowly taking their luggage. (Y/n) wondered if theyâve offended them in some manner.
As everyoneâs getting comfortable in their rooms, Malleus paid (Y/n) & Grim a little visit.
âMy love, I regret to inform you that I cannot be with you for a short while. Iâll be discussing a few important matters with my grandmother firstâ said Malleus in a sad tone.
âItâs no big deal, Tsunotarou. Iâm sure your grandmother would want to talk to you again after not seeing you for who knows how long. We can waitâ said (Y/n) as they pull out a book Malleus once gave them.
Satisfied that (Y/n) is not upset, Malleus nods & heads over to the throne room along with Lilia.
At the throne roomâŠ
âMy dear grandsonâ said the queen as she almost finished her conversation with Malleus. âBefore we part ways for the time being, Iâd like to know a little bit about the human youâve invited hereâ
An immense blush formed on Malleusâs face. âTheyâre such a kind, sweet person.â The increasing pace of his heartbeat caused him to hold his hands on his chest. âThey always partake in my nightly strolls around campus & make sure to invite me to any event, big or small. Even if they donât fully understand the things I talk about, theyâre always willing to listen. Likewise, I give them my undivided attention to their stories, especially the ones of their past. To think that they trust me enough to show their vulnerable side warms my heart to no end.â As much as Malleus wanted to continue praising (Y/n), he was too focused thinking about them to continue.
Seeing her grandson act this way caused the queen to chuckle. âI can see clearly that you love them so dearly. If possible, I would like to converse with them during the Christmas party so that I may know them more.â
âOf course, grandmother! Iâll see to it that you get to meet them on that dayâ said Malleus with nothing but pure excitement in his voice.
Prior to his first encounter with (Y/n), Malleus treated every day of his life with little interest. To him, it was all the same: people avoided him, he excelled in all of his classes & so on and so forth. It was thanks to (Y/n) that all of that changed. When Malleus realized that no other individual made him feel so alive, thatâs when he knew he had to court (Y/n). Therefore, getting his grandmother to approve him marrying (Y/n) was his utmost priority. For now, heâd show (Y/n) & Grim a few places on what could potentially be their future home.
While the meeting between Lilia, Malleus & his grandmother was approaching its endâŠ
âAgh! I canât stand around doing nothing for so longâ yelled Grim as he was getting rather antsy.
âI understand that Malleus has been talking to his grandma for a while, but you must understand that he probably hasnât had the chance to do so after some time. Iâd spend some time catching up with her too if I was in his positionâ said (Y/n)
âWell Iâm neither you nor Malleus! Iâm gonna explore the castle by myselfâ yelled Grim as he left their room.
âGrim, waitâ yelled (Y/n) with worry before putting their book down.
Both (Y/n) & Grim were running around the halls of Malleusâs castle, thus causing a lot of noise. As (Y/n) tried to catch Grim, they vehemently apologized to any staff member they ran across & asked them for help in catching him. However, every one of them either shied away from them or simply expressed their annoyance toward what was happening.
Grim entered a dark room & (Y/n) couldnât tell if they were lucky or unlucky. Regardless, they followed him inside.
âI donât want to hear your excuses, Grim. Letâs go back to our room before Malleus knows that weâre gone & panicsâ said (Y/n) with anger before coughing. After theyâve stopped running, they notice the dusty, dark room had numerous bookshelves containing many grimoires.
âWhoa! So many books about magic~! Thereâs gotta be one that I could use to improve my skillsâ said Grim as he rushed to the first grimoire he saw.
âWait! That grimoire could be-â shouted (Y/n) before being interrupted by a loud door slam. âCursed?â
As soon as Grim touched the grimoire he wanted to read, the door he & (Y/n) went through somehow slammed itself shut. They both noticed this & had begun panicking.
(Y/n) rushes over to the door & tries to open to no avail. âCrap! Weâre trapped!â
âHeheheâŠâ a mysterious voice muttered. âYouâve done it nowâŠâ
âHenchman! Did you hear that creepy voice just nowâ asked Grim.
âYes. Weâre in deep trouble, arenât weâ asked (Y/n).
âOh how you most certainly are. To think that anyone would be foolish enough to touch one of my precious grimoiresâ said the disembodied voice with the occasional giggle.
âFnagh! Iâm sorryâ yelled Grim.
âYou better be! Such action is⊠UNFORGIVABLEâ yelled the disembodied voice near the end.
Both (Y/n) & Grim were in a state of complete panic. After all, they werenât expecting to encounter a potentially malevolent being.
âI have an idea. How about I make you my servants? Iâve been so attentive to many books that itâs been hard keeping track of all of them. You can read all the grimoires that you want, little furballâ said the crazed voice.
âNever! The Great Grim will not be defeated by some weirdoâ shouted Grim with pride as he believed that fighting this unknown entity was his only option.
âOhâ said the unknown entity in an inquisitive tone. Several steps can be heard with each one getting previously louder than the last. A lantern appears, revealing a tall, lanky figure wearing a filthy cloak. Their eyes are filled with such insanity that one should not ask what had happened to them & their grin revealed jagged teeth. âAnd how do you suppose you shall defeat me? Iâve spent countless hours caring for various texts of advanced magic & have practiced & perfected my techniquesâ
âAH! I TAKE BACK WHAT IâVE SAID! IâM SORRYâ yelled Grim as heâs hiding behind (Y/n).
âOh how hilarious of you! So frightened as to hide behind your master as if that will do you any goodâ said the creepy entity. It uses its free hand to form a ball of dark magic. âLet us not waste any more time. One. Two.â
âAHHHHHâ screamed both (Y/n) & Grim as they embraced each other in their final moments.
.
.
.
Or so theyâve thought.
The dark magic covered the strange entity & it shrunk until it was slightly taller than (Y/n). Afterwards, the dark magic dissipated to reveal a young, dashing fae with simple robes, short hair & glasses. âBooâ said the fae in a rather playful tone before helping (Y/n). âMy name is SucrĂ©. I apologize for the fright I gave you two, especially the human. My main duty is to care for all of the texts that lie within this castle, ranging from simple notebooks to grimoires while my side job is being an author.â
âSo whatâs the deal with scaring us if youâre apologizing for itâ demanded Grim.
âItâs quite simple: to teach you a lesson about touching things that donât belong to you. Some of the grimoires within this castle are actually cursed. Granted, theyâve been locked away in a large safe for ages, but most canât tell the difference until itâs too lateâ said SucrĂ© as the door violently swung open to reveal a distressed Malleus. âAh, Your Highness. How delightful to see youâ said SucrĂ© as he bowed gracefully to his future king.
Malleus paid no mind to him as he rushed over to (Y/n). â(Y/n), my love!â asked Malleus as he spun them around, got on one knee & gripped their shoulders. âAre you alright?! I hope youâre not hurt!â
(Y/n) gave Malleus such a sweet smile that he would have fainted had it not been for his current state. âDonât worry, Tsunotarou. Iâm fineâ said (Y/n) as they proceed to kiss him on the forehead.
âOh, thank goodnessâ said Malleus as he hugged them for a short while. His smile changed to a frown as he proceeded to look at (Y/n) in the eyes. âDid I not tell you to wait for me? I know that humans arenât known for being patient, but this is inexcusable.â
âDonât get mad at meâ said (Y/n) before glaring at Grim. âGet mad at him. He ran off despite my warning & I tried to prevent him from causing any trouble around here.â
âItâs not my fault that Tsunotarou took forever to return from his meeting with his grandmaâ yelled Grim.
âBecause he had a lot of important stuff to talk about with her! What part of that statement do you not understandâ asked (Y/n).
From the corner of his eye, Malleus saw the grimoire Grim opened on the floor. âSucrĂ©. Thereâs a grimoire on the ground. Iâm surprised you havenât noticed that given your affinity for knowledge.â
âI was aware of it not being on the bookshelfâ said SucrĂ© before using telepathy to put the grimoire back. âYou see, that gray cat monster ran into this room & grabbed it. The human tried to stop him but failed miserably as he lacked sufficient self-control & common sense. I truly  did not intend to frighten the human, but I was too focused on getting revenge against the cat monster.â
Malleus said nothing as he held out his hand & a large grimoire materialized in his hand. He then gave it to SucrĂ© âHere. A reward for punishing Grim.â
âFnagh! You shouldnât reward him for doing things like that.â Grim looked at (Y/n). âTell him, henchman!â
âHonestly, if I had magic, Iâd put you in a stupid outfit that only I can take offâ said (Y/n) bluntly.
Before saying anything, SucrĂ© adjusted his glasses. âIf you wish, I can make that a reality. In exchange, Iâd like to be given cookies that are either store-bought or homemade. Any flavor will do.â
âDealâ said (Y/n) without a second thought.
Grim, being greatly offended by (Y/n)âs âbetrayal,â was about to speak up until magic had begun surrounding him. He tried running away, but it was too late.
Sucré & Malleus chuckled at this embarrassing sight while (Y/n) was full-on laughing. They had to lean against Malleus so as to not fall to the floor.
It only took one good look at (Y/n) for Malleus to start blushing. As much as Malleus wanted to look at (Y/n) forever, he had to show them certain places of the castle now so that they donât get lost again. Plus, he actually wants to prepare for this Christmas celebration now that theyâre with him. He thanked SucrĂ© once again & left the room with (Y/n) & Grim.
Malleus was quick to have himself & the Ramshackle duo teleported to the Great Hall. It was a large, rectangular room whose walls & ceiling had various murals of faes & other races in various scenes. The beautiful, warm lights from the chandeliers help highlight some of the finer details of these art pieces as well as making the room feel a bit more lively. A few maids & butlers are eating at various banquet tables with some small talk here & there. Â The back center of the room had a banquet table more elaborate than the rest. Malleus told (Y/n) that theyâd be dining with him & the rest of the Diasomnia quartet.
While there were various art rooms throughout the castle, Malleus took (Y/n) & Grim to a specific one that had the most art supplies by far. Ranging from various art paints to sculpting materials as well as sewing materials, it was an artistâs dream come true. Malleus is fully aware that he wonât always be by (Y/n)âs side & that it wouldnât be healthy for them to remain inside their room 24/7. In his mind, this was one of the best ways for his darling to relieve their stress.
After exploring a few miscellaneous rooms, the trio stepped inside a small library with a large fireplace in the back. Malleus, after remembering their encounter with Sucré, had to bring up the fact that none of the books in the room were cursed. (Y/n) expressed their feelings about the room, including how it would be nice to cuddle with him in front of the fireplace. Malleus smiled at the thought of doing so.
Nearing the end of the tour of the castle, Grim said he wanted to go back to his & (Y/n)âs room to take a nap (Authorâs note: He lied naturally as he breathed).
Malleus quickly used his magic to fulfill Grimâs request as he wanted to spend even a few moments with his Child of Man. Before teleporting to his prized rose garden, he gently covered (Y/n)âs eyes with his hands. He genuinely couldnât wait to see their reaction.
Upon seeing the garden for the first time, (Y/n) was left speechless. It was an endless sea of roses with a large gazebo in the middle. The fresh, floral aroma washed away any negative emotions (Y/n) had throughout the day. In (Y/n)âs mind, this was the perfect setting for a romantic dinner with Malleus. They couldnât help but think about themselves kissing Malleus under the moonlight.
âDarling. Darling~â whispered Malleus into (Y/n)'s ear. Seeing his darling blushing while daydreaming prompted him to smirk. "What exactly were you daydreaming about?"
âU-Um. Absolutely nothing, Tsunotarouâ yelled (Y/n) as their blush became more intense.
âMhm. Sure, darlingâ said Malleus.
(Y/n) looks up at the sky & remembers that they were told of the sky always being dark. âHow do you tell what time it is if itâs always dark? I donât wanna miss lunch time.â
âWe once used a device thatâs similar to a sundial except it ran on magic. Nowadays, we have clocks you humans consider âold-fashioned.â I do believe itâs almost noon, so let us head back to the castle.â
âSweet! I canât wait to try out some of the dishes your homeland has to offerâ said (Y/n) before Malleus brought them back to the castle.
âI promise you that you will enjoy them allâ said Malleus with a sweet smile.
An hour later & the Diasomnia quartet & the Ramshackle duo are at the Great Hall awaiting for their full-course meals to arriveâŠ
âSo (Y/n). Howâs the castle so far? Youâre not scared of it, are youâ said Lilia in a teasing tone.
As expected, Malleus tensed up & he too awaited for (Y/n)âs response.
âAt first I found it to be scary, but itâs more lively than I thought itâd be. I like itâ said (Y/n).
Malleus was relieved knowing that (Y/n) liked the castle so far âI was rather afraid you would regret coming here. Iâm glad to know that Iâm wrong.â In his mind, he told himself âHopefully I am also right in (Y/n) wanting to live in this castle permanently.â
Before long, the chefs have arrived with everyoneâs appetizer. Grim tried to scarf his down, but (Y/n) tapped his head & said not to eat like a pig. The cat monster grumbled as he ate his food in a more dignified manner.
(Y/n), being satisfied with his compliance, began eating their own appetizer. It was the same, simple one Malleus chose, yet theirs came out last. âWeird. This appetizer isnât as flavorful as I thought itâd beâ said (Y/n) in their head. âTsunotarou seems to be satisfied with his, so maybe Iâm just being picky.â Throughout lunch, (Y/n) kept finding an issue in their meals whether itâd be their food lacking sufficient seasoning or being a bit too cold. However, it was still far better than the food they ate back at Night Raven College. They may not spend the rest of the day (or night) completely satisfied, but dared not to complain.
âHow was lunch, my treasureâ asked Malleus with a sincere smile.
âIt was delicious. I enjoyed it allâ said (Y/n) with a fake smile.
âMy tuna had little to no flavor in it! How is that even possibleâ asked Grim in an upset tone.
âNow now, Grim. We should be grateful for eating food thatâs of higher-quality than that back in Night Raven Collegeâ said (Y/n) with their lips slightly twitching from nervousness.
âIs that so? Perhaps I should let the chefs whoâve prepared your tuna know about thisâ said Lilia.
âThereâs no need for that, Lilia.â (Y/n), noticing that Grim fell asleep, decided to carry him there as if he were a baby.
As soon as everyone had left, Lilia marched straight toward the kitchen & stopped just in front of the entrance to listen to the chefsâ conversation.
âFinally we can have some peace & quietâ groaned the head chef.
âTo think that our esteemed, crowned prince has brought over that ugly human is unbelievable! That feline beast was somehow even worseâ said a baker before everyone in the kitchen started laughing.
âWerenât they the ones that caused a ruckus earlier today? I bet they were because this glorious castle has never housed such rude guestsâ stated a fae chef.
âI hope they leave soon & never come backâ said another chef before everyone nodded simultaneously.
Everything Lilia heard was more than enough for him to violently open the doors. His presence alone caused the whole kitchen to fall silent.
âLord Lilia! What a surprise to see you here. How may we be of serviceâ asked the head chef in a nervous tone.
âYou can be of service by explaining why you were talking poorly about our dear Princeâs guests just nowâ said Lilia angrily.
âA little while ago, a butler informed me about the ruckus those two were causing. They were running around the halls while making noise. They should be thrown out of the castle at onceâ said the head chef as everyone else in the room agreed with him.
âFor so long, our prince hasnât had the chance to enjoy a single vacation with anyone. That human you all think so poorly of is the only reason why heâs in such an excellent moodâ yelled Lilia.
The entire kitchen staff was speechless. They were initially confused as to why their prince referred to (Y/n) as his âtreasure,â & now his jovial mood made much more sense.
âI expect that intentional screw ups like these will never happen again! Do you all understandâ asked Lilia with nothing but fury.
âYes, Lord Lilia! We will ensure that this mistake does not occur againâ said the entire kitchen staff.
Lilia simply huffed as he left the kitchen. He hoped that the rest of everyoneâs Christmas vacation didnât face any more problems.

Christmas break has arrived for the students at Night Raven College. Every student expressed their joy knowing that they donât have to read a single damn textbook for some time. Some considered traveling to another country, some were wanting to spend some quality time with their families & some preferred playing video games in their room all day. Unfortunately for (Y/n), they had none of those privileges. Instead, theyâll just have to survive the harsh winter as best as they could. They were fortunate enough to have the ghosts & Grim around to keep them company.
As for Malleus, he wasnât neither thrilled nor upset about returning to his home for the holidays. As much as he appreciates Lilia, Sebek & Silverâs company, he wishes he could make some fond memories with someone new, someone who doesnât fear him⊠Thatâs when he realized something! (Y/n) fulfilled both of those requirements!
Seeing Malleusâs face suddenly light up caused Lilia to appear by his side. âWhatâs on your mind, Malleusâ asked Lilia. He already knew Malleus was thinking about (Y/n), but he still wanted to see his joyous expression that appeared once in a blue moon.
âLilia. Go see if (Y/n) has any plans for this Christmas break. If not, please inform them that theyâre invited to stay at the castleâ Malleus requested.
âFufu. As you wishâ chuckled Lilia before teleporting to the Ramshackle dorm. After knocking at the front door & shouting âPrefect! Are you there,â he only waited for a few seconds before (Y/n) answered the door.
âHi, Lilia! Come inside. Itâs getting cold alreadyâ requested (Y/n). They were preparing for the harsh winter by washing their warmest clothes & thickest blankets, gathering firewood & so on & so forth. It was precisely because of their preparations that they were caught off guard by Liliaâs arrival. âIâm sorry that I canât offer you anything to eat or drink, Liliaâ (Y/n) lamented. âIâm gathering anything I can for Grim & I to survive this winter. I heard that itâs gonna be a harsh one.â
âNo need to worry, (Y/n)â replied Lilia as he waved his hand. âI came here on behalf of Lord Malleus. He wanted me to inquire you about your plans for this Christmas break. It seems that you lack any, yes?â
(Y/n) lowered their head in shame. âThatâs unfortunately right. But why does Tsunotarou want to know about thatâ asked (Y/n) without trying not to cry. The thought of not being able to open presents, eat plenty of good food & create fond memories thatâll be remembered for years to come left them in a state of mental anguish.
âWell, wellâ said Lilia with a chuckle. âFortunately for you my lord wanted to let you know that youâve been invited to stay at his castle for this Christmas break. Do you accept the invitation or not?â
(Y/n) looked at Lilia with a look of genuine shock & surprise. They get to stay at an actual castle?! In their mind, it would be stupid to not accept the invitation since theyâd be living in much better conditions than in the Ramshackle dorm. âYes! Yes, I accept the invitation! Iâll tell Grim the news right awayâ exclaimed (Y/n). They haphazardly threw on their jacket & ran outside to call for Grim who was collecting sticks for firewood. âGRIM! GRIM, COME INSIDE! IâVE GOT GOOD NEWS!â
He ran toward (Y/n) with a few sticks in his mouth & spat them out by the time he was at the front door. âIt better be that I donât have to collect any more sticksâ complained Grim. Even though (Y/n) collected some firewood, they asked Grim to help gather some more. He was, of course, annoyed that he had to do manual labor, but seeing them do so much to prepare for the harsh, winter cold made him felt a tinge of guilt. Plus, he knew the Ramshackle ghosts & (Y/n) would give him hell for not helping the latter out.
After ushering Grim inside, (Y/n) shuts the door with a large grin across their face. âWeâre staying at Tsunotarouâs place this Christmas break! Can you believe it? We donât have to wonder if weâre going to eat or not! Weâll only have to think about what we want to eat!â
After seeing Lilia nod, Grimâs eyes widened. âDoes this mean I can have as many deluxe canned tunas as I want?! Any meal that Iâve ever wanted to try, I can have?!â
âThatâs right. I also want to let you both know that you have the rest of this day to pack all of your personal items,â said Lilia.
Suddenly, (Y/n) & Grim panic. It was already afternoon & they didnât have a travel suitcase. There could be one somewhere in the Ramshackle dorm, but it would take way too long to find it.
Seeing their panicked faces amused Lilia greatly. âOh, I was messing with you two. Weâre heading to the Hall of Mirrors to arrive at his castle tomorrow morning. If you guys want, Iâll also lend you a travel suitcase so you could quickly pack your items.â
âLilia! You nearly gave us a heart attackâ screeched (Y/n).
âYeah, I was worried that I wouldnât have enough time to get readyâ yelled Grim.
Now Lilia couldnât hold back his laughter. He knew that he could scare them by saying theyâd have less than a day to get everything ready, but seeing their legs nearly give out was not what he anticipated. The look of dread on their faces was just icing on the cake. âAlright, alright. Iâll head back to my dorm & get the travel suitcase for you.â
After Lilia teleported back to the Diasomnia dorm, Malleus was quickly informed of the good news. âTo think that my dearest Child of Man will be staying at my castle for this Christmas break. How shall I spend time with them? Should I show them my rose garden? Should I show them some of the beautiful scenery that the Valley of Thorns has to offer? I cannot wait for them to arrive at the Hall of Mirror tomorrow morningâ Malleus thought to himself. The immense wave of euphoria had him oblivious to the fact that he was shaking on the spot.
Speaking of Lilia, he was having a field day. Not only did he scare the living daylights out of both (Y/n) & Grim, but heâs also getting to see the Malleus Draconia behave like a child (Malleus is still a child in his mind). He knew that this Christmas break would be an interesting one.
As he was on his way to get that travel suitcase for (Y/n) & Grim, he thought about what the former had said earlier. To think that they genuinely thought of going into starvation broke his heart. Just how neglectful to those two can the headmaster be?! Before finding what he was looking for, Lilia rubbed his face while sighing heavily. He could only hope that (Y/n) & Grim could stay at the castle for more than just Christmas break.
