I missed drawing Akaza

Yet again with some info of Mermaid/Pirates AU [Masterlist]

(Forgot to mention this) The Butterfly Pirates are easy to spot with their signature butterfly hairclips. Even if they occasionally don't wear it, their faces are recognizable in the bounty papers.

Merman Akaza makes an appearance with an unconscious Koyuki in his arms! The Butterfly Pirates are wary and surprised, but they are willing to lend a helping hand.

Wow y'all really like KNY Mermaid AU, huh.

(Giyuu is saved! Thanks to Tanjirou and Kanao stumbling into Shinobu throwing seasoning on Giyuu and persuades her enough to let the poor merman go. Shinobu is salty, Giyuu is bewildered but will take revenge later and then they become friends somehow)

I am thinking of doing mermen Kyojuro and Akaza later (along with Koyuki whom has Akaza tailing her around like a protective puppy) but I am not sure what fish Kyojuro will be based off. I have a few options but if you guys have any ideas, you can comment.

I am thinking of having Akaza's design based off Betta fish cause they're colourful and they're also called Siamese Fighting Fish. (But if you guys have any ideas, comment)

Some drabbles below. Anyway, I am trying some style and colour testing. I put baby Hakuji and Tanjirou in cool and calming color while Akaza in a bright flashing colour to bring out the contrast in it.

I tried making Tanjirou looking soft and reminiscing memories of the past,

While having Akaza staring in perplexed with his all sensory going haywire because of the painful memory that Tanjirou reminds him of that he can't even remember; so hence frustration and confusing resulting to being alarmed and angry.

Based on the manga panel;

It's the way Tanjirou expression that gets me. He looks at Akaza in a pitiful, sympathetic gaze that is not in an insulting nor looking down on way. It's more like Tanjirou thinks;

" What happened to you? "

Tanjirou recognizes the belief Akaza has rooted from something, an event happening in his human life. In some way, I think Tanjirou has an idea perhaps of why Akaza has such belief, despite the disagreement he has for it.

Even if he has hatred for Akaza, he wonders how could such villain starts as a small pure baby. What happened? What happened to make Akaza turning out like this?

Tanjirou is mostly a forgiving person but when it comes to Akaza, I don't think he will ever forgive nor forget what the demon has done. But remember that Tanjirou is understanding, sympathetic and empathetic.

He doesn't know what happened but he always wants to understand the demons he fought because he knows that they were once humans too. That they had humanity at one point. The real villain here is Muzan and Tanjirou reminds himself of that often. He would never blame the other demons, holding onto the hope and possibility that not every demons wanted to become what they are.

I think the time spent before Tanjirou can meet Akaza again allows the boy to learns more of his enemies. He's met Gyutaro and Daki (Ume), he's met Hantengu...time has allow his heart to slowly toughen and soften, to ignore the seek for revenge in the beginning.

And when Tanjirou meets Akaza again, the hatred comes but so does the pity and sympathy. With bits of sprinkle a question,

" What happened to you? "

Wonder if it's canon or not that the poison was actually for Hakuji but since he wasn't at home that time, Koyuki and Keizo were killed instead.

Thought I wanted to try the new ibispaint animation feature 😊 I am still testing it out but I am glad I get to use brushes that I am familiar with. I still haven't finished it yet, I am just trying something simple but have some peeks.

I just read a book in my school library about samurai facts and now I wonder if Hakuji's father was once a samurai?

The hairstyle his father had fit in cause samurai style their hair like that to make it easier to wear helmets. Perhaps Hakuji learnt how to fight from his father until the illness came in? That, or his father has samurai friends who taught Hakuji how to fight. I am not sure the timeline of Hakuji was in tho. If Hakuji's father was a samurai, I wonder which clan he used to be in.

Akaza merely stared at the woman before him. Her grip on his jacket was strong, but he didn't even bothered to brush her hands away.

" I don't fight women." He reasoned.

" I don't care! Just fight me! Fight me! Fight me like you fought -- "

Mitsuri trailed off, dropping her head down as she couldn't held back her tears. She bit her lips and twisted her knuckles more but the demon wasn't budging.

" Fight me like you fought him."

You took away my friend,

My buddy? ¶¶

What if Mitsuri encountered Akaza?

Do you think that...Akaza smiles like animals ' smile '?

I mean, you know, humans smile is different from animal's smile, because when we shows out teeth, it means friendly.

But when animals show their teeth, they mean threat.

Is that why he smiles and grins around his enemy, but acts soft and quiet around the ones he respects and loves? And only smiles gently/softly around his loved ones?

Notice that he smiles when fighting Kyoujuro, Giyuu and Tanjirou?? And drops his smile around Muzan ( as a demon ), Keizou and Koyuki?

Also not smiling around Douma not because he respects him but hates him.

I searched for the meaning of " Hime " and found out ( correct me if I am wrong ), that it means " Princess "

I just read a KNY fanfic in wattpad where Akaza delusionally thinks that the readers is Koyuki.

He views the readers as Koyuki, not the readers themselves.

He loves Koyuki, not the readers.

AND IT BREAKS MY HEART SO MUCH.

BECAUSE NGL THE AUTHOR DID A GOOD JOB ON WRITING THE WAY AKAZA BEING DELUSIONAL AND INSANE AND JUST DESPERATE TO HAVE HIS KOYUKI BACK THAT HE HAS THE READERS AS HER REPLACEMENT

BUT WHAT MAKE IT WORSE IS THAT THE REAL KOYUKI HAS BEEN WATCHING ALL THIS TIME AND IT BROKE HER AS WELL.
