Summer Days with my black pen

image

It’s a shame that I was with my improvised sketch pad and black pen for the past sixty days. In the end, I was in my parent’s room hiding from all the heat haze that has been happening all around the house. I couldn’t even do my ‘serious’ drawing and painting because of the summer heat. I wanted to be a little productive so I filled my hands only to my beloved laptop, stack of drawing paper I decided to book-bind and a black pen stolen from a cabinet upstairs (*pats self*). And so today, I am just gonna share what I had done for the past two months of heaaat ;_;

(that photo above says: im learning french this year yaaaay :D )

right now I'm eating avocado ice cream while writing this hehehe

The state must be brought into harmony with the universe, and the musical instruments which could accomplish this must be integrated with the cosmic forces --- with the changing seasons, with wind, thunder, water and fire, with eternal space, and with all matter.

                                                                  - The Heritage of Music

Before my case of japanophilia, I use to have piano lessons at my grade school for a year. But I stopped the following year due to some expenses and other errands and ended up discontinuing the whole thing (tbh it really broke my heart ;_; ) I really loved playing the piano so I studied it myself. Got to learn the basics and with the help of Google-sensei and youtube tutorials (yes youtube tutorials omg) little by little I can read sheets and play beautiful pieces of sound on my 49-key keyboard.

*gambatte*

- That haiku above was when I was finishing halfway through a simple but beautiful piece by Schumann. I FINALLY MASTERED IT. one summer goal checked haha

- Life goals: Play the Violin

- I still have shigatsu feeeeels aaaaah ;_; When I first watched Your Lie In April, my love for music grew even more :”) I will never forget this one.

Music has always been there for me. Even before my craaazy anime/pop/street fashion culture (obsession) passion

and the rest are just complaints about my sad life

kidding. what a shameful entry huhu

My summer days was like this:

- Priscilla Ahn’s song from When Marnie Was There by Studio Ghibli <3

no need to explain it. The song says everything.

- I’ve been looking up into lolita fashion lately. yaaaay lololol

- When your just streaming episodes on the internet but the connection suddenly stopped and gets back again seconds after.

- Finishing an 11-12 episode series at 2 am. It gets better.

- When the sun is lurking behind you while your just trying to be in your cute and innocent-and-trying-to-be-productive self. (you can’t even go outside and have fun it’s like the heat is forcing you to be with your phone or your laptop)

There’s nearly a week of summer vacation right now. In fact, the only way to describe this feeling is this

Little Discoveries

Hello internet

I was jam-packed with papers and exams and now that it’s all over, I’ll spend the rest of my days with my beloved laptop (without the guilt >:D). But but while I was busy with all those academic stuff, I stumbled upon a good book. A very very good book.

The Heritage Of Music by Katherine B. Shippen & Anca Seidlova with illustrations by Otto Van Eersel

Exploring the thoroughly shifting fashions and major periods of serious music. From the hymns, the classics, the romantics, to the compelling beats of modern jazz.

What I think:

Lovely. I love how it really tells the story of how the compositions were made of. I love how their music resonates to the life they had led and I think that their true feelings were expressed in the music. And yeah I really like it ^ ^

Oh and to think that Bach’s works were neglected and his sons turned away from his music. To think that it was rediscovered a hundred years later, and the world began to look at  his compositions in a whole different way today. (really, wow)

Used an old My Melody stationery as a bookmark <33

I also found an old music box and it plays Traumerei (Dreaming) from Kinderszenen Op.15 (Scenes from Childhood) by Schumann. Found it in an old photo album with little music boxes inside :3
