found an iori-centric i7 wip in my files today that i'd like to finish up. id love to post what i have now but there's no good place to chop it into two parts so here's a snippet instead! the fic is called let it sink in

iori/riku pre-slash, self-discovery, angst & hurt/comfort

Iori ran his finger along the thin skin beside his nail bed, tempted to pick at it but far too restrained to give into the impulse. “Meeting Yuki-san helped you figure out who you were?” Was that just the alcohol talking?  Iori had been under the impression that those sorts of answers could only come from some secret place inside. One that Iori was still struggling to gain access to.  “Mhmm!” Momo-san agreed brightly. “He was just so…” he sighed wistfully, rocking up onto his toes for a moment before settling back onto his heels and staring up at the moon. “And then I kept coming back. And back. And back. To see him and Ban-san. Like he was drawing me in.” Iori gently bit the inside of his cheek. “That sounds…familiar,” he admitted.  Momo-san grinned brightly, excitedly leaning closer to Iori. “I thought so!” Iori could smell the alcohol on his breath and took a subtle step back.  “It’s the same for you and Riku, right?” Momo-san’s expectant gaze shimmered despite the wan lighting, oddly intense, and Iori turned his gaze to the moon to avoid meeting it.  Iori wasn’t drunk but Momo-san was, so… “I think so,” Iori murmured softly. “It’s…I feel,” he tried, unsure how to end the sentence. Iori looked down towards his tightly clasped hands. “It’s weird,” he settled on.  A complete non-answer if Iori’s ever heard one, but that was all Iori seemed to have lately and Momo-san supposedly had the key to his own lockbox so maybe Iori could learn something if the man simply talked long enough.  

It’s actually psychotic to leave a comment critiquing someone’s fic before leaving kudos????? Mind you, a fic they just read for free -_-

Weirdly enough Mineta is actually pretty fun to write when it's not perv jokes.

sorry to disappoint but there's no murder, unfortunately, though dron murder husbands (while extremely ooc, least likely characters to actually get off their asses and kill someone) would be awesome

i'm. i'm writing my fic, rn, bc, it hasn't been done before. that's like. the whole point.

it's cool. drarry's cool, i like it, i'm just not in the mood for it rn

we've seen harry rebuilding draco up from a low point (in fics). do i think he'd acc be any good at it? no. do i think he would contain the level of obsession within him (for draco, for him specifically) that draco would require for it to not be seen as pity? also no. do i think harry is emotionally intelligent/astute enough to accurately clock & juggle both their strong + controversial emotions during this process so this doesn't end in blows? . . . could be debated, however brute-forcing past it is his entire emotional m.o., so.

anyways read my fic ig and stan dron for clear skin i'm gonna go be a clown somewhere else

since i got two of these gay ass fucking reels in a row and got one-shotted by this fuckin one right before i was abt to go to bed i think this would be a good time to share that the central conflict or wtvr of inspiral is that the two of them are trying to keep draco from dying.

yes, draco tries to have the "you need to learn how to act when i'm gone" conversation, several times in fact. good freaking night.

the lil mannerisms and micro-struggles i give these british teenage boys are so . . unabashedly girl-coded, undoubtedly bc im a gal myself, in what i hope is in a subtle way but idek atp,,,

draco slaps half a pound of gel onto his head whenever he's too dead inside to do his hair in the morning, ron gets sidelined and mansplained to constantly and chooses to smile genially and take it bc it'd take just too much energy to get properly offended abt it . . .

draco hides nearly every single emotion he has behind a polite, blank smile whenever he's not (performatively) taking out his pent-up anger on the gryff trio, he is performing for an audience even when he's not supposed to be, when he's taking a break from the mask to be nasty and cruel . . but of course you have to be nasty and cruel in just the right way of course . . .

ron has so deeply internalized the belief that you have to be exceptional (something he is inherently, at the absolute base-level, not, he believes) to be worthy as a person that he's completely stopped putting in any effort at all; has so completely given up hope for himself (his erised-reflected pipe dream of standing out: head boy, quidditch captain, etc) that he struggles to see his own positive/arguably exceptional aspects at all; is living, essentially, in low power mode . . .

reading this ask absolutely clocked me bc it basically exactly mirrors my thoughts and unironically what im working at in my current wip fic

cept in this case the anti-racism goop is slow-acting and in the form of voldemort moving in LMAO

draco watching a blood-purist megalomaniac torture his father in front of him/have his snake swallow someone whole on his dinning room table, while desperately trying not to throw up: maybe. 😨 maybe all life inherently has value 😨

ron stumbling in much later on him covered in (metaphorical) goop having a hysterical breakdown in the bathroom: oh! that's not . . . what is going on 🙂

they'd have the best convos abt muggles bc they both have extremely minimal first hand experience so it's always "he said this" and "she told me about this" and "i saw an aeroplane once‼️ it was huuge‼️" they are so cute

Im one of those people who hate canon malfoy for being a racist asshole, but i hink hes funny as a character if that makes sense? Like fuck the guy, but i think if we just dumped him in anti-fantasy racism goo and then let him sit there for a while that he would be a really funny character. I do hate how the fandom has made him all serious and mysterious, like you said. Hes such a little dramatic whiny little asshole and if you want to stan him, then you have to embrcae that part of him. The guy got rejected by some kid he met on a train and decided to hate him for the rest of enternity and suceeded. Hes a pathetic theater kid with a flair for dramatics who has two goons he constantly keeps around him at all times. Dont just overlook that, guys (the malfoy fans).

I agree! Malfoy can be a really fun character to work with especially once he can be somewhat separated from his bigotry. Not entirely, but I guess making him slightly more open minded & less extreme in his beliefs, cause it can be fun to have him be taught things too

It’s been a while since I’ve read a fic where Malfoy was really that involved but if you like Malfoy, the trio, AND the marauders the fic Marauders of the Mind is on fanfic.net and I think it’s really fun. I have some issues with it like the marauders aren’t their canon selves, they’re pretty exaggerated / ooc, but it has a lot of good Harry & Malfoy characterization I think!

Oh no this isn't writer's block, I have an entire detailed alternate ending story with detailed dialogue and plot points that have been edited into being cohesive. However this is my bedtime story in which I mentally act it out until I inevitably fall asleep, acting as though I'm falling asleep in my MC's love interest's arms. I exclusively think of this story between the hours of midnight and 4am

Holy crap louis I uploaded a fanfic on Ao3 for the first time (only one chapter so far) and at least 2 people actually liked it. This is peak life.
