Rembrandt Book Bracelet wins the 2015 Rijksmuseum Studio Award.
I can see that the whole life could be on your wrist.
By Lyske Gais and Lia Duinker.
I drew my friend @pomplanaki's main characters from her upcoming YA novel, "Journey to the Winterlands"! (Which FYI features adventure, friendship, and DINOSAURS, so you should definitely read it when it's out!) Top to bottom, left to right: Entilu, Aaro, Cori, and Saka.
What is the key to surviving the ever shifting edges of the Blade Room?
A hidden panel, a memory locked away or just dumb luck?
"Choose Your Fate" in Lydia's Labyrinth the game book - coming soon.
I'm currently rearranging the art from landscape graphics from the visual novel game to portrait book style. I'm also recolouring for print and ebook :D
The game experience will be similar to the "choose your own adventure" novels. The the writing is done and now, the writer and I are working on the formatting and editing. Things are moving forward fast and I'm really excited about it all. Just got to stay focused and get the work done!
Anyone else love getting back to the basics? Been having a blast working up these paragraph dividers using a ballpoint pen and pencil!
I got a sticker machine for Christmas, and I’m thinking of making one of this, would you guys buy it???
ART FOR EVERY BOOK I READ THIS SUMMER PART 7: Fifteen Dogs by André Alexis
Bella and Athena from 15 dogs ❤️
ART FOR EVERY BOOK I READ THIS SUMMER PART 6: Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
What I wouldn’t give to know what Mr. Huxley was thinking when he wrote this. The book made me pretty uncomfortable (as it’s meant to, I suppose) but I LOVED this scene so I divorced it from the context a little for this comic. Words all come from Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
ART FOR EVERY BOOK I READ THIS SUMMER PART 5: Love That Dog by Sharon Creech
Just a quick little sketch for a book that makes me cry. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving.
ART FOR EVERY BOOK I READ THIS SUMMER PART 4: We Have Always Been Here by Samra Habib
ART FOR EVERY BOOK I READ THIS SUMMER PART 3: THE SECRET HISTORY BY DONNA TARTT
Life got busy and I forgot about this project but now I’ve recommitted. Soon, you’ll have art for my entire 2024 summer book list!
(Guess who my favorite character was)
(Little explanation)
This is a fairly liberal interpretation of the word ‘fanart’ but it is art inspired by the book I read, which is what I’m going for. The main take away from this book for me was that Ancient Greek philosophers and those three side characters in Dazed and Confused have something in common, and that is that they both represent the way me and my friends get together and have deeply existential conversations for the fun of it. Philosophy hasn’t changed, just the way the philosophers dress.
That time I made a book out of an old pair of shoes, about an old pair of shoes, and a friend I don't talk to anymore.
Here is the text, since I know its difficult to read: "I used to have a pair of shoes I liked,
but they started falling apart after a few months.
I wasn't ready to let them go.
So I fixed them again,
and again,
and again,
until there was nothing left to fix
until my feet got soaked in damp grass.
That's what it was like,
being friends with you."
(I also tried doing alt text for the first time, let me know if I can do anything to improve it.)

Mixed media collage, 2022. The mummy cat gives a piece of their ka to this skull that's wracked by chaos, being nothing more than a bubble that can't reach, the pages between the two torn.
