JRWI Spoilers MAJOR BITB Spoilers Discussions of Body Horror and Gore

It's just me rambling about a monster design I'm working on and talking about the bugs in the bayou :3

I'm still figuring out my design for the "Kian" monster (with and without skin!), and God I love monster design so fucking much!! The human body is a beautiful canvas for horror.

I've been rolling with the idea that Kian's body is the head/face of this creature and having so much fun with it. The limbs being mandibles for this giant gaping maw in the torso, the ribcage opened up like it's beckoning you to come in. Also, this huge spider-like body growing out of the lower back area. Kinda like a spider crawling out of an eggsack, you know? I'm still contemplating how "human" that part should look, I constantly ask myself how far can I push the "bug made out of human" idea. I want it to be large and imposing, 'cause that was the vibe I got when listening the first time.

I love monsters that mimic people so much, I especially loved the aspect that a lot of them didn't even know that they themselves were the bugs. They just were living their lives, believing they were the originals! Crazy right??? Do you think "Rolan's Parents" were scared when the originals showed up? Like the absolute mindfuck that Rolan experiences is INSANE, brooo. I think he might be my favorite out of the 3, which is funny cause I've definitely drawn Kian the most, lol.

Also, fun fact: while looking up references, I accidentally came across real gore. Kinda fucked me up for a little bit, but hey it's my fault for not being careful. On the bright side(?), I have a better understanding of what an open chest cavity looks like ?? Probably should've just looked up "Saw Angel Trap" and be done with it, lol.

Have we considered Stag Beetle Rolan though? Couldn't figure out a background so I just edited a photo wallpaper of a bayou. :D;
