I did like timebomb with Ekko x Powder. I don't like it with Jinx, but even with the Symbols and everything I didn't feel the ship was forced into Jinx and Ekko and I did appreciate that. To me it felt more like the two were reworking themselves to fit their "new us" together, not as a couple, but as a team to build up something new. They spent so much fighting and resenting the other while also missing the ghost of their childhood friend (and possible crush), I don't think they could ever work that out.
In the alternate universe what Ekko mostly gained was closure, he was able to say goodbye to Benzo and Powder. To me it meant a lot when Ekko corrected himself after almost deadnaming Jinx, I don't think it was because the last time she saw her she was Powder, but because Ekko was like Vi in season 1. They didn't want Jinx, it was Powder or nothing, because Jinx is Silco's daughter, the daughter of the man who killed Benzo and Vander deciding to remain loyal to such man.
It left me wonder: when Ekko said he gave her chances, did he ever gave Jinx one? Or did he only ever give them to Powder? The way he says "she is gone" to Vi implies that it was Powder the one who he extended his hand with.
Then there is Jinx, who he just found out trying to kill herself (in all shown it's clear that, even through everything, he doesn't want her to die). We don't know why Ekko was there, if he went there for Jinx, if he just apammed there after the arcane multi-verse travel or if he was there for something else, but he was there and decided to stop her. And the words that get through Jinx are this:
"It's never too late to build something new. Someone worth building it for."
That was something important for Jinx AND Powder in both seasons. First, her gadgets for the team, then the Hextech weapon for Silco, the Sevika's arm, then her new finger, then Vander's death, then her relationship with Vi, then this: Isha's sacrifice. To make it worth something, which is why the globe had the symbol of the bunny (Powder AND Isha's symbol) instead of her iconic symbol of the monkey. From Sevika's arm, while building is important, there is a shift from "building" to "fixing".
"It was something I could fix."
That is Jinx's whole plot during season 2, it's what gave her motivation in the first place after Silco's death.
We don't know how much Ekko knew, but if he saw that Jinx had taken his place, becoming a symbol of the one that take cares for the Undercity, then he had to give her a chance. With the closure he needed, he was ready to accept Jinx, even if she is not Powder and he would always grieve her and what it could have been if things have been different.
Forgiveness is not a theme in arcane, but something deeper. The characters never really forgive each other but learn to live with what happened and move forward accepting that the other person is there. Accepting that, they too, haven't done things right, so they really can't keep pushing against that person and pretend that they are justified in whatever are the consecuences of their actions.
Ekko and Jinx just started building, because people they cared about needed them to, and they decided to give it a chance because it was sonething they could fix. Whatever that something was their friendship, their battle efforts, the sacrifices made, ir didn't really matter. They just gave each other a chance, that was why the monkeys in Ekko's timeloop were important, not because they represented a "good version of Jinx", they represent Jinx, and Ekko was willing to add them, just like he was willing to add her now. To give her something to work with.
Now I'm aware I probably just got it the way I wanted it because content was cut short, I would have lost it with actual Ekko x Jinx content, but this ambiguous way it works and I'm grateful that I got it.
I also believ this is a ship you dislike more the fanon content than the actual content, as Timebomb shippers more often than not ignore that Powder and Jinx are in fact NOT the same person to try and force the Ekko x Jinx. Same individual yes, but not the same person. It's one of those ships you dislike more because of the fans disregard of canon and important content than the little we were given or oven force fed by the show. (Becaus c'mon, the whole tea party scene in season one was NOT so people could say "tHeY aRE tHe sAMe pERsoN")
How it feels to not like timebomb after s2
I can also see it as a Reverse AU from season one, as Jinx did her best to get rid of Powder, a part of herself that because of her guilt just held her back and hurt her, both in her and Silco's eyes.
It would be interesting to see Jinx slowly building up into Powder, Powder looking at Jinx as a monster, having the same relationship with one another, hating each other, not wanting to accept the small part of the other that lives in each other.
If it's the Jinx at the end of season 1 and start of season 2 I can totally see a scene where both girls fight for control, which turns into Jinx lashing out of everyone around while Powder cries, only for both of them to stop at Silco's voice, he wasn't even talking to her, just asking what was going on, but it's enough to let Jinx let go so Powder can be comforted by the others. Powder would be so confused as, why Silco? Why not stop at Ekko (her boyfriend), Mylo/Claggor (her brothers) or Vander (her dad)?
If Jinx jumps towards Silco, tackling him and hugging him, then she won.
If she breaks the cycle, Powder won.
(Also, Monkey vs Bunny as a theme would be going hard for these two.)
Were they ever really that different?
Thinking about how the arcane artists and designers made sure isha had big eyes to make us see her more innocent and childlike (and make her death hurt even more.) They do this with the other children in the main cast, but with Isha they make sure to push it further, her eyes were bigger, full of wonder joy and innocence, just to make her have a stronger impact as a character
They do this same thing to powder to an extent, they don’t push it as far with her character but they do it, this plays in to how jinx and powder’s character models change, one of the main differences is her eyes because eyes are so key when it comes to character design and shape language and how we perceive each character

Okay jokes aside, this moment is extremely beautiful and I'm watching this on my own, I cannot explain the surreal feeling that courses through my veins. This show is the air I breathe, the water I drink and the soul inside me and this scene, however the hell you see jayce and viktor literally doesn't matter. Lovers, platonic soulmates, idc. This scene is beautiful, in any context and any universe. Thank you arcane production team.

“Haha! I’m so fucked!” Jinx laughed to herself as she ran as fast as she could away from the Enforcers. The two Enforcers that were chasing her were old and fat, no match to her better physique. She continued to run into a busy crowd to cut the Enforcers from her tail which was successful. She took a breather in the middle of the busy street. She was glad they were fat and slow.
With a sigh, she walked with the crowd’s direction, unaware of other Enforcers seeking her. She was tired, she was ready to go back home and work on some inventions. Just for a few more miles, she would already be back at her place. She wondered what she would eat later. Perhaps buying food from the street? She took a look at all the street food on her left and right.
Suddenly she felt uncomfortable, like a piercing glare was burning her from behind. She quickly turned around and saw a tall Enforcer. It wasn’t the same pair from earlier, it was at least three Enforcers! All of them were much better fit, which gave her a slight disadvantage.
With a curse under her breath, she quickly picked up her pace and started to sprint. Soon, she started to run as she felt the Enforcers caught their eyes on her, recognizing her. She actually took a lot of effort to get rid of them off her tail but no matter how much she ran, or how much she turned left and right, they always managed to find her. This was turning bad, she felt panicked.
As a last resort, she turned into a street that she never went to. She may have lived in Zaun for a long time, but she hasn’t been there. It looked more shady than the other streets. The Enforcers were still on her tail, so she kept the same pace. She ran a bit too fast and bumped into multiple people.
She was so close to the end of the street until she bumped into a male figure. She was about to fall backwards when the figure held her to prevent her fall. She looked up to see pretty eyes, staring at her. They were mesmerizing. She was about to zone out when she heard the yells of the Enforcers.
As another last resort, she quickly grabbed the male by the shoulders. “Help me hide!” She pleaded. The boy was confused, his head slightly tilted. He was quite confused why she needed his help. He then realized when he saw the Enforcer inching closer. Thinking of all kinds of ways to hide her, he decided to be quick with a certain idea.
Swiftly, he gently grabbed her waist and turned her around. Noticing her very noticeable hair, he grabbed it and made a quick bun. The Enforcers may be close, but they couldn’t see what he was doing. Then, he bent down, his face inches away from hers. She quickly blushed at how close he was to her. She was skeptical of what he was doing. She was about to knock him off but didn’t when she saw the Enforcers close by. She allowed herself to be held by him.
She felt a bit flushed. He was holding her so gently. He was gentle with her, like she was a delicate flower. He didn’t look at her though, he continued to watch the Enforcers go by without notice. She was glad he was quick with his idea, despite how skeptical she was at first.
Once the Enforcers were out of sight, he let go of her. She couldn't help but miss the warmth his hands brought. She wanted to say thank you, but was a bit embarrassed to. He noticed her embarrassed look and just nodded, a soft smile across his face.
“You're welcome” was what he said before walking away from her. From that day forward, she found a new toy to be obsessed with.

So I've recently joined the Arcane fandom (have not seen any of it yet but have absorbed some fanfics and lots of youtube clips) and I gotta say...
The fact that Jinx/Powder's two animals associated with her are the
Monkey - very intelligent, often associated with being crazy, and the
Shark - can be extremely violent and dangerous, misunderstood creatures stereotyped by the public
Like...hm. The symbolism is well done in this one.
EDIT: I realized she also is represented by a crow/raven (not sure which), and well...
3. Raven - associated with bad omens and death, also very intelligent. Collects shiny things (the unrefined Hexgems, anyone?)

I’ve been drawing a lot more recently and feel like my style has developed a lot compared to a few months ago , and so I just get too excited to stay working on one thing at a time. Not that I have a great track record of finishing things anyway, but that’s not the point.

I ADORED THE FACT THEY CARED TO REMEMBER HIM IN "JINX FIXES EVERYTHING." I think it also mentioned his favorite fantasy novel was "Sumprat Dreams" or something, but idk if that's Canon or not. Besides the point, we always see him and Vi gravitating towards books whenever they have the chance. I like to imagine in my little head that yearns for the Lanes Family to be happy again so whenever Vi wasn't available to read/tell Powder stories, it was Claggor who read them for her and let her ask as many questions as she wanted. He was just glad he could read his favorite book out loud and have his little sister engage in his interest :((( <<<333

The warm and familiar smell of The Last Drop embraced you like a hug. Children laughter interrupted the silence. Your gaze fell on a little girl with blue hair. She giggled and ran from a sturdy big man, trying to hide behind your legs as she shouted your name.
"Help! Vander doesn't love me anymore!" Powder whined and clinged to your hip. "I'm sure he does, Pow." You smiled down at her. The tall man simply laughed before he picked the girl by her legs and threw he over his shoulder. "I never said that" He huffed. Powder tried to wiggle out of his grip but Vander's grip didn't loose. "You did!", she retorted. "You said I have to go to bed!"
A laughter slipped from your lips. "Well, that's actually not the same, Powder." The girl gasped and stared at you, betrayed and her mouth open. "How can you say this? I thought you liked me!"
You giggled and followed them downstairs to her bedroom, in which Vi was already asleep. "I do like you" "Yes, she does," Vander dropped her on the bed. "But she loves me, that counts more" A smug grin spreaded across his face.
With an eyeroll, you slapped him softly on the chest. Then you kneeled beside Powder. "Don't listen to him. I love you and your sister just as I love him. Just in a different way" You smiled.
Powder stared at you with big eyes. "What does that mean?" "Well," You chuckled. "I love you and Violet like a mother loves their children and I love Vander like a wife loves their husband." For a moment you could see the gears in her head turn before she nodded. "That sounds nice." A yawn left her lips and you smiled. "Sleep now, Pow."
After you ensured that Powder was alseep, Vander and you went upstairs again and getting the pub ready for the night.

"Do you really love them like that?", Vander suddenly asked. With a confused expression, you looked up from the glasses you had cleaned. "Of course I do, Vander. They like my own children." His eyes softend and a faint hint of a smile showed.
Vander bit his lip and suddenly his cheeks flushed pink. The strong, big Vander who could snap somones neck with just his pinky, blushed.
But why?
"You okay, Van?" You asked worried. "Uh y-yes" He stuttered. Stuttered. Something was off. He seemed ... nervous. The fucking Hellhound was nervous! "I uh ... d-did you mean that other thing too? T-that you love me like a husband?" The blush on his cheeks deepend. For a moment all you can do was just stare at him before a laugh escaped your throat and you started wheezing.
It was hilarious for you that Vander, the Hellhound himself, was nervous because of something like this. Vander's face was burning red for a moment, then pale. "J-just forget it. It's dumb.", he mumbled.
It took a moment for you to go back to normal. With a bright grin, you wrapped your arms around his neck. "Of course I love you, Vander. Otherwise I wouldn't do this shit and care for the kids. You're my everything, darling." "Really?", his eyes brightend but his expression was still sheepish. "You mean like you told Powder, l-like husband and ... you know?" "Yes, definitly." You chuckled and gave him a quick kiss on his lips but before you could pull away again, one of his hands wrapped around your neck and held you there.
He deepend the kiss, a small smile on his lips. "I love you, my angel." Voice hoarse and quiet, soft. Now you smiled against his lips. "I love you too, darling." For the next minutes all Vander did, was holding you against his chest. Yet, his hand began to wander across your body. One of the big paws grabbed a handfull of your ass, the other spread over the side of your torso, right under your chest. His fingers gently carassed your skin, sending shivers down your spine.
"You know, I quite like it so.", he whispered in your hair. You quietly chuckled. "You already said that last night." "Really? Well, all I could hear was your whimpering while I was knuckles deep in you. Pretty sounds you made." Red flushed over your cheeks and ears. "Shut up. You were whimpering too, when I gave you head." His chest erupted with laughter. "Well, how could I not. 've rarley had such a good blow job."
Your cheeks only flushed deeper at that and you burried your face between his boobs. "I hate you." "You love me, angel." That is true. You love him with all you are. Every rights and wrongs Vander has. Every imperfection, every dumb habit and every part of his body and soul.
