Frightened mobs in Peru have needlessly set against hundreds of bats and have burnt them alive.⁠ ⁠ According to Peru’s National Service of Wild Forests and Fauna (SERFOR), roughly 300 of the little creatures were brutally killed after the angry mobs attacked the caves where they dwell.⁠ If Bats would be made extinct then the tasty fruits wouldn't be able to satisfy the human desire. Bats feed on the insects in the flowers as well as on the nectar and flower parts, such as calabash, sausage tree, areca palm, kapok tree, banana. Over 300 species of fruit depend on bats for pollination. These fruits include Mangoes, Bananas and Guavas. ⁠ “We must not distort the situation due to the pandemic.
