just tried to outline future chapters and my brain nearly short circuited. my creative mind is not meant to be confined to the chains of bullet points and organization she simply isn’t

and then you have to go back and rewrite some of what you’ve already written to accommodate what your character just came up with.. *insert eye twitch*

Writing is wild because you’ll plan a perfectly structured scene and then your character is like

“actually I’m gonna kiss this person now” or “what if I had a traumatic backstory I’ve never mentioned before”

and suddenly you’re spiraling because THEY’RE MAKING CHOICES and you’re just the poor little author with no control

like sir. ma’am. i gave you life. and now you’re rewriting your own plot??

it is a romance drama book series that follows the lives and love stories of eight childhood best friends. tropes and dynamics range from:

grumpy x sunshine, i hate everyone but you, four core female group, brother’s best friend, secret relationships, small town romance, found family, childhood best friends to lovers, it’ll always be/it’ll never be you, sapphic romance, slow burn romance, forbidden romance, one bed trope, and more!

this is my first time tackling a fictional universe and characters like this as a self-published indie author. it’s been the most fun, fictional adventurous learning experience ever<3

i’ve always loved romance and writing. i love creating characters. i love being able to give them a story, name, personality, etc. not to sound dramatic, but it’s truly the most magical experience.

i just finished the second novel which should be out before the end of this year🧡🧁🦋🌙

do you torture the character you relate to most and recreate your own abuse in fiction to cope or were your needs and feelings acknowledged as a child

i’m a writer, of course my love language is words of affirmation

(say you melt at the touch of my hand, tell me how your desire burns with the heat of a thousand suns, make me feel like you could remember me even if our paths crossed in another life; if i had different eyes, would you recognize me?)

about a quarter through writing the first draft for the third book in my series!

it’s been my fav book to write so far because of all the storylines i have planned, but it’s also been the most complicated to write for the same reason😭

there’s just so much that has to happen — between the main storyline *and* the side plot that it’s literally making my brain feel like this: 🫠

it’s so fun yet so stressful at the same time but hey i love writing!!!!!!😁

does anyone have any tips or ideas for getting your writing out there? pls & thx it’s rough in these indie author streets🙏
