Daily Doodles- Day 17- 04/05/24
Butterfly girl! 🦋🦋🦋
Fell behind again because I was tired (as usual) and forgot I had to do my daily doodle. I knocked out all 3 tonight though, so it's all good!

I don't really talk about being a Christian on here, because ever since reading the Bible in full for the first time ever, I realised that I knew nothing about the faith that I was born into.
I don't want to be out here saying wrong stuff that would lead people to the devil instead of God.
So I'm just gonna stay quiet, read the Bible again, get back into daily prayer and like/reblog cool Christian posts on my blog 💁♀️
And make art of course. I have so many cool Bible-themed art ideas!
On the topic of divination I want to explain how the devil makes it seem real.
Basically he gives you knowledge that you could have never known by yourself. It’s still not the future but it’s super convincing.
One girl I read for asked for a reading for fun. She had never gotten a reading before. I cast my runes and was immediately told about her suicidal teenage daughter. I had no info on her and I didn’t even know prior if she was a mom. When I revealed this to her she was shocked. She did have a daughter who was suicidal and they were trying to get medical care. Satan knew this info and told me.
My other example is the time I was reading as a party trick for a date I went on. I was explaining what I did for money and he wanted to try it. I casted my runes and all they talked about was his move. He thought the whole thing was bullshit because he had no plans of moving anywhere. I shrugged and told him that’s what they say. Three days later I get a call from him that his boss was relocating him to another state. So did satan know the future?! NO! Satan knew what the boss was already planning and just told me before the boss could tell the guy.
These are not one offs either. When you divine Satan will give you knowledge that you’d have no way of knowing. This makes divination look legit and keeps people hooked. He also gets to influence your life more easily if he can convince you to believe you are getting the future and should do what the runes (or cards) tell you to.

A dollface inspired by Alien Moe's creepy-cute creations. This one's more 'cute' inspired. If I could sculpt like her, I would totally make this.

Here are some finalised drawings of all of the main and supporting characters.
Below the picture, I will list them from the top left to the bottom right.
Cyrus Hinds/The demon- In the first sketch, I made it look more like a 14-year-old boy, more human and with a softer face. In the second sketch, I made it look more creature-like, basically how I described it in my short story. I gave it more elf-like features and a sharper face. It doesn't look like a 14-year-old boy, but that's the point.
Gabriella Pierre- Her original design featured a short afro and a flower in her hair. I wanted to be more creative with her hair and decided to give her four smaller afro puffs. I also love how her face came out. I think she looks quite cute.
Amaya Graham- Her design stayed the same. Amaya is the sweet, harmless-looking, quiet friend. I did very loosely base her off an old friend from my school days. They share large spectacles and the long hair.
Marissa Ramdin- I wanted her to be very pretty with an elegant look to her. She's the effortlessly pretty friend that everyone's a little bit jealous of. I may work on her design a bit more.
Kadiah Toussaint- I'm quite happy with how she turned out, especially her hair. Back in my school days, I used to wear my hair in small twists and I hoped to recreate that style in drawing. I think I did quite well!
Sasha Antoine (pronounced Ant-wine)- Yes, Sasha is our 'mean girl'. I based her design on how I see the current high school girls styling themselves for school. I went for that cute, YK2 look with the baby hairs.
Noah McKenzie- He's a newer character I decided to add as support and a new friend for Gabriella. He's named after Noah from the Bible (I also just think Noah is a really cute name). I wanted him to physically contrast Cyrus. A lot about him is very soft and comforting while Cyrus evokes the opposite.
All characters except Cyrus and Noah are 14 years old. They are all in their 3rd year of secondary/high school (we have 5 years of secondary school in my country)
Cyrus is masquerading as a 14-year-old and Noah is 15 and in his 4th year of secondary/high school.

The thing about being religious is you'll talk about your beliefs and/or experiences with non-religious people, and they'll sort of pat you on the head and say, "Yes, what a nice little idea, I'm glad that you have your beliefs to comfort you!" and every time you have to bite your tongue because your religion isn't just a "nice little idea" to you, it's a cosmic truth that underlies all things, and furthermore, although God Himself has comforted you, that doesn't mean that faith itself is comfortable, but if you put any of that into words, they'll look at you funny.
What artist doesn't draw their characters, am I right?
I scanned some of the sketches from my sketchbooks to show you guys and I'll write a bit about them.
Ghost King Danny meets the JL
Baby Ghost King Danny meets the JL

I'll stop here before this gets too long!
Guys, not all of us are smart enough to be having these moral conversations on a fandom site of all places.
I see your 'hot takes' posts and how you have to back pedal in the notes because people smarter and more eloquent than you responded with reasonable counters.
Like, if your 'hot takes' involves meme language and internet slang, maybe don't post it, because you obviously didn't think long and hard about what you wanted to say or if it was even going to be seen by anyone.
You look juvenile and/or unhinged, sorry.
happy booping! 🐾
