shoutout to selfshippers who depend on their f/o. who can't ship them with others because it hurts to imagine them having another partner.
shoutout to the selfshippers who are touch starved or lonely, who can't bring themself to love anyone like they love their f/o. who rarely ever (or never) crush on others because their love for their f/o is too strong.
shoutout to those who print out pictures of their f/o, have them as their wallpaper, imagine them next to you, draw and write about them. who treat them like an irl partner.
shoutout to selfshippers who don't just like their f/o because they're "your type," or they're attractive. shoutout to the selfshippers who have a deeper connection with them than that.
shoutout to the selfshippers with many f/os, and the ones who only have one or two.
shoutout to the selfshippers who kin characters from their f/o's source material, even if it creates some weird rarepairs. (i've been there.)
shoutout to the selfshippers who hate what happened to their f/o in their source material, and to those who love every direction it went.
shoutout to selfshippers with quote unquote "weird," f/os, or nonhuman ones. shoutout to selfshippers who are open about that fact, or who are nervous to tell others about it, even other selfshippers.
shoutout to ALL selfshippers.
you're great.
and remember, no matter who you are, if you fit all these boxes or not, your f/o(s) love you very much!
(PRO//SHIPPERS DNI, THIS ISN'T FOR YOU)
(Pro/Comshippers + Neutrals fuck off! This post ainβt for you!)
Not trying to trauma dump, but this has been my life for as long as I can remember. Before I started suspecting I had some form of audhd, I had a really difficult time unmasking in front of anybody that wasn't my dad for years (I still struggle there). It's especially discouraging when family, friends, and peers had rejected me or were freaked out when I showed signs of those behaviors, even before I was aware of it. Masking seems awesome and great until you're the one suffering for someone else's comfort. Reading everyone's experience has honestly been super cathartic and it comforts me to know I'm not some monster for simply being myself or having a different way of functioning.
Sending love to all my neurodivergent pookies! β€
My doctor and therapist: now with this autism + ADHD diagnosis you need to learn to unmask because masking all the time will make you burn out again and feel like shit
Other people: well it's just interesting how after getting the diagnosis you suddenly start behaving like that I mean I'm not saying you're faking it's just funny how you suddenly cannot be normal like you were before
The Alnwick Poison Garden is pretty much what youβd think it is: a garden full of plants that can kill you (among many other things). Some of the plants are so dangerous that they have to be kept behind bars. [x]
Seasonal Affective Disorder is just emotional scurvy, all my core wounds are reopening and they won't be fixed until the big lemon in the sky comes back
The average Goosebumps experience (with the special bonus of autism)
i feel like being in a fandom long-term has a very specific repetitive cycle that kind of looks like this

βVIEWER BEWARE!!β
I recently did some redraws of some of the Goosebumps book covers in honor of Halloween being around the corner. I really loved a lot of these books growing up and tbh I still have a fondness for them. Honestly a lot of childrenβs horror anthology media has a really special place in my heart. I love seeing people make horror content without it being able to be outright gorey or scary. The haunting hour still holds up as being pretty scary in a lot of cases imo. I also thought these might be fun to kinda get out of my comfort zone a little. Tbh I had a good time doing a horror art again I missed it.
But um ya enjoy :>
1- Night of the Living Dummy
2- One Day at Horrorland

Star Trek TNG got me thinking about Discord. I just??? I love his arc and how Fluttershyβs kindness changed him. Friendship really is magic.β¨

[OC X CANON APPRECIATION POST! π©·β¨]
Karen Summerset was one of the children who lived in dark falls at the time of the chemistry plant malfunction. Dark falls was a small, tourist community of everyone who knew everyone, it was tight knit. At least, until mysterious men began to show up. A chemistry plant was established, run by men in black suits. At first, they claimed that they were studying a chemical that could power hundreds of cities at a time, and then when the workers began to experience odd burns, they claimed it was to help American soldiers while they were at war. Along with the chemistry plant came noise and smog, the air was thick and visitors to the small, scenic town became slim, until they became none. Jobs were lost because of this, forcing more and more of the people that lived there to work in the chemistry plant to try to keep their families fed. Karen Summerset's father was one of the people working at the plant when it malfunctioned. With so many people working at a plant out of desperation instead of knowledge, it was bound to fail. It was almost like the men in black wanted it to happen. A cloud of noxious gasses was released into the smog over Dark Falls, trapping it above the small town. They thought things were fine, they were assured that everything would be fine... and then.. the burns appeared. Skin started falling from bone, nobody could keep food down, hair was falling out. These people were rotting before they were even dead.
