its actually SOOO tragic that there are so many things tagged Sonic & Tails and Sonadow, but I can't find what seems (to me) to be the natural longfic premise of

Sonic is a struggling young adult who picks up an abandoned Tails from the streets and is like 'well ig i'm a parent now' but he's working three or four jobs and he barely had it together Before Tails, and now he's gotta afford preschool??? and daycare??? He's a Mess, but he really needs to do right by this kid -- Tails has had enough people let him down already

Shadow is the neighbor/customer that has his shit together, graduated from college top of his class, and works for GUN which is really a cushy desk job. His only friends are his nosy coworker Rouge, and his pet cat Omega

shadow, as neighbor/customer, frequently runs into sonic, who always looks frazzled and exhausted, but is always kind to him, and they have a good banter with each other

and then yadda yadda yadda, inciting incident (tails gets lost/tails gets sick, shadow helps sonic and continues helping and hey this kid isn't half bad and his older brother's...ok), they fall in love, coparent Tails, move in together, GUYS CMON THE SINGLE DAD FIC PLOTLINE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU

I saw a picture of someone who had a Sonic calendar and now I really want one. Like I want to check off my days while Sonic stares at me I feel like that’d be really fun
