the thing is not only akutagawa regaining his memories by having atsushi throw himself to save him like he did, but also that akutagawa's eyes have never been more clear
this is so important actually. the image and voice of dazai, one of the smartest people atsushi knows, manifested by atsushi's mind telling him that he knows something dazai doesn't. he can do what dazai can't. he's smart enough to save everyone, despite his doubts about himself. and he knows it, even if he needs a voice that isn't his own to say it to him.
Yk, with the eventual sskk reunion, them hugging is 100% a real possiblity
Right after Ranpo and Poe kidnapped Kunikida from the hospital and brought him back, Atsushi literally leaped and hugged Kuni
I think he'd hug Akutagawa when he sees him again (or maybe vice versa if Akutagawa really is that emotional now)
Both sides of sskk can't even deny their feelings now, it's amazing development
If we ever do get blessed with a sskk hug in the future, I will have a heart attack from happiness
In the catzai au, is Fyodor an actual rat and Nikolai a dove?
perhaps
“Chuuya is the second choice”
Let me prove you wrong:
1.The flags
Went against the bosses orders to give chuuya a good gift (his past) and also risked their lives for chuuya.
2.Verlaine
“He would chose Rimbaud” bro literally shot this man just so chuuya would be safe.
3.Murase
Wanted to return chuuya to the world of light
4.Adam
Programmed himself to put chuuya before anything and risked his life for chuuya (he came back though, I’m happy)
5.Kouyou
I honestly hate when people say she would choose Kyouka as if she can’t love two people equally. Like are we reading the same thing? She cares about chuuya a lot.
6.Dazai
“But Oda....” no shut up
the relationship that dazai has with oda and chuuya are two completely different things. Dazai just fulfilled a promise from a dead friend. Dazai trust chuuya with his life.
The port mafia presents
The irony of so much of the demon slayer fandom arguing about who is the strongest and who "solos" who when two of the most reoccuring themes in the story are a) people all have something different to bring to the table that can contribute in unforseeable ways and b) some enemies can't be defeated alone and every little thing helps either your companions or your successors accomplish what you couldn't by yourself. If you think about it, there was almost no enemy that tanjiro didn't need help taking down because going it alone wasn't the point
The final fight is literally a testament to that with muzan "soloing" everyone and losing to the combined power of every corps member, even the weakest ones. There were low ranking members holding up nearly every hashira as they fought. One guy just straight up drove a car into muzan, an act requiring no specific skill and a lot of nerve! And it all mattered in the end! Everyone came together to change the outcome!
Creativity, willingness, and the importance of connections are literally major themes!!! That the demons couldn't genuinely cooperate with each other was one of their most fatal flaws!!! Lust for individual power was not the great driving force in any of the heros, only the demons. And every time, it was presented as a major flaw that ultimately ruined them.
I think the whole debate over Chuuya being the clone or not it kind of dumb.
The reason Asagiri never out right states that Chuuya isn’t the clone in Stormbringer is because it gives you the uncertainty that Chuuya feels. The scar is solid evidence, but not solid enough. Chuuya doesn’t remember how he got it so he technically can’t be 100% sure that he’s the original, but that’s the point. The whole point is that it doesn’t matter. It’s his body and his mind no matter what his origin is. Before the scar is even mentioned it’s established that Chuuya has accepted that he’s human. The whole damn book tells you him and Verlaine are humans no matter if they’re possibly clones or not. It was never about them being clones, it was about their humanity.
I adore Gin, she's genuinely cute, so I put her in few different outfits. I'm in genuine belief that she's a shoujo girlie.
Can I talk about the fact Akutagawa doesn’t understand why Atsushi saved him, even though he did the exact same thing for Atsushi. Him using the word 'protect' rather than save is also so powerful to me because that's inherently what Akutagawa always has been- a protector. He was born with his ability and he protected his sister, the other kids in the slums with it. He sacrificed himself so Atsushi could leave the ship. And now, we've yet to see how Bram's wish will play out, but he was asked to protect Aya. Rashomon is shaped like knight armour on him at this exact moment.
And yet he can't understand why someone would do the same for him???? Absolutely INSANE. He's spent so long protecting others and then trying to better himself for approval, to be able to survive on his own by sheer violence that he can't fathom anyone doing the same for him. It was probably the same when Higuchi and the black lizards saved him when he was comatose.
And likely, he knows Atsushi views him as immoral and his actions as abhorrent, and is stuck on the fact Atsushi has had a sudden switch (sudden to him) in such a huge way that he'd die for him, since Atsushi has never been shy about telling Akutagawa just what he thinks of him. He can’t fathom Atsushi seeing his violence and hatred toward him and knowing him so deeply without understanding him and also choosing to save him.
Asagiri you're insane for this truly.
