people ask me why I’m so distraught over ninjago ending and when you tell them it’s because your emotionally attached since it’s been there since your childhood and you’ve grown up with it and even though it does injustice to your favorite character it still has your favorite character and you sound like a crazy person when in reality you just can’t let go of something that brings you comfort so easily even though it’s just some stupid tv show

I think that probably the most realistic scene in Crystalized is the fight between Jay and Kai.

They're both stressed out. They're both grieving. They're both trying to cope, just in a different way, and sometimes, grief can get the best of us.

But I'm actually surprised that Kai hadn't snapped sooner. Because Nya, the reason he joined the ninja in the first place, Nya, his sister who he basically raised, his family – is dead.

And Jay has the audacity to act as if no one else cared that she was gone. As if he was the only one affected.

Kai is trying to hold it together. He's trying to move on, because he knows he can't change what Nya has done. And he knows that Jay is grieving too and he does his best to not blame him.

Yes, he accidentally knocked the glass of water, but he instantly apologized for that, knowing what it means to Jay.

In other words, I'm on Kai's side on this one. I think that he had every right to point out Jay's bullshit. He should have done it sooner.

For the longest time I've been like "huh, it's kinda weird how Zane has these visions and it's never elaborated on, it's just a cute little quirk." I just feel like that's something that would've been explained by now??? But then I realized, maybe that's just part of him being the master of ice? Like, Cole has super strength, Jay had super speed in the pilots. Also there were the future reflections in the Ice Labyrinth? The place full of ice that's also connected to the FSM showed people their futures??? So maybe that's just what the element of ice does. (Now why ice and the future...idk? Like I see the connection that rocks are strong/you need strength to move rocks, and lightning is fast, but ice and the future??? Because ice can be reflective and it can save things for the future? Maybe???)

But then this raises the question: what's Kai's extra little power? If Cole has super strength, and Jay has (forgotten) super speed, and Zane has prophetic visions, what does Kai get?

What if Crystalized ends like MotO but this time Lloyd goes with the FSM to another realm (under the impression his golden oni-dragon powers are too powerful or something) and the new series in 2023 just is the rest of the ninja training to fist fight God to get their lil bro back?

well my dearest anon how I wish and pray you will be correct. I love this idea so so so much. maybe garmadon ends up staying behind too, training the ninja alongside his own brother to get his son back. angst. fighting. goddd. there is so much leftover potential for ninjago but the writers keep messing up certain things (ex plot holes, nonexistent kai development arcs) and it just makes me wish the fandom could seize the writers and just become them ourselves

Listen… Yes, Kai is irritable, snarky, and altruistic to the point of being reckless. But he’s… Not really a hothead. 

Like yeah, Kai get’s angry, understandable, he’s the embodiment of his element, but for the most part, Kai is a mild-mannered, soft spoken kid who at least tries to talk his way out of things.

I can’t speak for later seasons, since I haven’t seen past s10, (but that doesn’t really matter since he’s gotten little to no development since then) looking at older ones? Like s4? Kai for the most part is agreeable and does his best to work with the elementals, even being the inciting incident which causes the ninja to even consider teaming up with them.

Generally Kai is more uh… Clever than hotheaded.

I guess some might argue that his recklessness is his hotheadedness, but I don’t think i would agree with that? One of Kai’s biggest character flaws is that he rushes into things, but 90% of the time it’s driven by Kai’s protective instinct, not anger.

I mean. I’ll still label him as a hothead, just because it’s funny and it’s not entirely an insult. Just an observation that it’s… not entirely accurate.

I love people who genuinely observe and analyze kai’s character. people who truly believe and know that his“selfish and egotistical” personality is all just a facade. people who understand that kai isn’t stupid or dumb, but is actually very clever in his own special way. people who can portray him better than the writers of ninjago themselves. people who understand the reasons behind his actions. people who don’t have him as their favorite character but don’t stamp him as the egotistical member and recognize/ analyze all his good qualities. people who have him as their favorite character and continually post about him. people who take their time and understand. just I love you guys so much <3
