Bowuigi fic idea

So I have a neat idea for a bowuigi fic set after the movie, but I've never written nintendo characters before so I'm putting it here for ya'll to use instead. If you end up writing it, please give me a link to the fic!

Okay so the brothers have gotten settled into their new mushroom kingdom home, Mario helping out with nasty denizens across the realms & assisting Peach while Luigi is content to just do small odd jobs like they used to do in Brookyln. Sure he's found he's adept at dealing with boos and other spirits when the need arises, but he'd rather live his life without fear or risk.

That is until Kamek contacts him from the darklands and pays him to fix up the castle, as they've been struggling with the upkeep ever since Bowser was captured. He takes the job for the sake of getting a little closure, but just as he's finishing up...he's stumbles on Junior and the Koopa kids, the 8 children trying to entertain themselves and grumbling all the while.

Luigi quickly connects some dots between the kids & some of Bowsers behaviour, resulting in him scampering to the kitchen and assisting in making a wonderful meal to make sure the kids are fed before returning to the mushroom kingdom and sneaking mini-bowser back to his castle. He helps Bowser return to normal size so he can properly care for the kids...and shenanigans, drama, and romance ensue.

Finished this a bit ago, ik the lighting is a little fucky but I am just glad to have finished - look at my sleepy boys ✨

I was looking back through some concept art, and this particular picture on the wall caught my eye:

Here we have Mario and Luigi (pre-stache, probably in middle school) in front of the statue of liberty, with Luigi holding Mario in a playful headlock while Mario looks a little annoyed.

This got me thinking about how, despite being the most anxious of the two brothers, Luigi is shown as the most prone to prodding and teasing his sibling.

This is such a testament to how completely safe and at home he feels around Mario. I mean, even with other members of his family Luigi tries to be agreeable and unintrusive as possible to the point that he can barely get a bite to eat at the dinner table.

But with Mario he can be truly himself: a little mischievous, a little annoying, and very physically affectionate.
