Be one of the ones that actually makes progress this year, do what you say youโre going to do. At the end of the day itโs just you. Not your parentโs, not your significant other, not your family, not your coworkers, itโs you. Unless theyโre shoving that shit in your mouth, thereโs really no excuse to not be in some sort of deficit.
You donโt have to finish the whole thing and I promise you, people arenโt as worried about what youโre doing as you think. I can make an entire book of things you can say to get out of eating but honestly a โno, thank youโ is more than enough if youโre an adult with other adults that respect you. If they canโt accept your no, you need to surround yourself with new folks. Plain and simple.
Some of yโall donโt really want this, youโre not willing to change the lifestyle that made you into something you hate and it shows. You want to lose it quick and then are surprised that you gain it back. You lose the discipline, you lose the body. Stop sitting there and thinking about it, fucking do it. Figure out what triggers you, figure out what motivates you and most importantly figure out what you really want and actually do it. At least try. Show up for yourself, build trust with yourself, prove the old you and everyone else wrong.
Donโt be the person constantly talking about what theyโre going to do or concocting a new plan every other day instead of just getting up and putting in the work. Itโs annoying and everyone can see right through it. I donโt give a fuck about your new plan if you couldnโt even see the last one through, you canโt even say it didnโt work because you didnโt even fucking try. Youโre worth more than that. Youโre worth effort and commitment, especially from yourself.
I was the whiny bitch who always complained about feeling full, fat, and ugly then proceeded to eat my feelings at every opportunity. I finally decided enough was enough and did something, then I finally stopped making excuses and thatโs where Iโve really seen progress. Itโs not just weight loss either. So many of my habits were a reflection of how I treated food. When I was eating for two without the second person, I was also drinking too much, spending money I didnโt have, and wasting my time and energy.
Now that Iโm back on my shit and honoring my commitments, Iโm better about my money, my time, pickier about people I surround myself with, and where I put my energy. Itโs a domino effect.
From a former big back, donโt act like a big back if you donโt want to be one anymore. You want to be thin, act like you already are and the rest will follow. Your body is truly a reflection of your choices, so what do you want to see?
