Ya sama, Hoon. Aku juga. Gabut sih wkwkwk
Correct me if i'm wrong, but is Gun wearing the same pair of pants as the one he wore the last time we saw him?
The urge to lick the tteokbokki sauce off his face is πππππ
Disclaimer: I like using the characters' Korean name instead of their English ones.
Choi Dongsoo as the headmaster whose existence has been questioned for generations. Nobody knows where he came from. Nobody knows where he went. But he ain't Cotton Eye Joe, that's for sure.
Park Jonggun as the scary gym teacher everyone fears. Passed the certification exam with the highest score nationwide only to find himself teaching devil incarnates called high school kids. Thus grows his hatred for this wretched world and his students.
Seo Songeun as that one kid who likes to suck up to the teachers, especially Mr. Jonggun. 10/10 would run five extra laps just to get Jonggun's pat on his back because he never got that from his absentee of a father. Poor meow-meow aspires to take over the reign of the headmaster so he becomes the king of the school.
Park Hyungseok as the "model student" despite his addiction to making tiktok videos even during class.
Kim Gimyung as the head of the student council who secretly runs a gambling business, selling bets on sports meet during recess.
Lineman as one of Kim Gimyung's accomplices whose job is to manipulate the scores of sports meet while disguising as one of the team players, so his hyung-nim gets the big fat dough.
Park Bumjae as the curious cat who smells something fishy going on in the student council. Something related to....dirty money, hmm π§π€. He swears to his great grandfather's name, he will uncover the existence of a mafia syndicate within the school grounds.
Han Shinwoo as the senior who keeps repeating sophomore year for some reason. The teachers just dgaf anymore. Always be the one who brings alcohol and cigarettes to secret hangouts behind the cafeteria.
Hwang Jaewon and Lee Hyundo as the designated "cleaners" who are in charge of cleaning the scene of the crime when secret hangouts are over.
Seong Yohan as the quiet emo kid who skips class because school is meaningless and so is life. He'd rather spend time with his dogs because they're the only ones who understand him. Is allergic to people.
Vasco as the awfully gullible security guard. Always falls for the "look behind you!" trick Seong Yohan pulls every time.
I might add more characters, idk.
Honey, whose child is that?!
Part 2 of "Park Jonggun Came Home With a Little Surprise"
Previously on part 1: Jonggun brought a toddler home. You wondered whose child that was.
Read part 1 here
"Park Jonggun, answer my question," your voice was so calm yet so stern.
"Whose child is that?" With your arms crossed, you stared down at the man before you to assert dominance.
So what if he's a mafia boss, who's also a kyokushin karate master, who most likely could chop you in half with his bare hand? Screw that. You wanted answers.
"Should we do this now? When the kid is sound asleep?" Sighing, Jonggun took off his Dior sunglasses and put them carelessly on the mini bar top before proceeding to walk toward the kitchen.
Your jaw dropped in disbelief at how calm his demeanor was, considering the situation you both were in.
"Yeobo!" You whisper-yelled while helplessly tailing your dear husband, only to be ignored by him.
"Wow, it smells so good. What are you cooking?"
"Kimchi-jjigae," you answered shortly, hoping he would drop the act and address the elephant in the room.
"Oppa!" Gosh darn it, you really didn't want to whine. But you had to. What else would you do to make him stop ignoring you?
"What?" He responded lazily. His eyes never left the steaming hot kimchi stew you cooked and served less than five minutes ago. It was true that you wanted his attention, but not this way.
This is more exhausting than making dozens rolls of kimbab, you thought to yourself.
In fact, the said kimbab rolls are nicely plated on the dining table. And Jonggun was stuffing his mouth with one of them.
"What? What? Ya, Park Jonggun, you brought an unidentified human infant to our house. What do you mean, what?"
"Her name is Yena," he said. "There. Now she's identified. Are you happy now?"
"Not quite. You haven't answered my question," you said, joining your husband at the dinner table. You glanced at the sleeping Yena, who was still curled up in his embrace.
What a poor baby, you thought. She's taken away from her parents by your thug husband. He must've done that to threaten them. The reason behind the threat was unknown to you, but you were certain it was related to his line of work.
That was when you felt a click in your brain.
"Don't tell me..." you shifted your glance to Jonggun's dark eyes, "you're planning to get ransom money by kidnapping a child?"
He let out a chuckle, seemingly amused by your guess. "You are quite sharp, my love."
You almost swooned by his endearing remark, but you didn't let that get you off your serious mode.
"So, is this your new business line or what?" you asked.
"Kind of..." he shrugged.
You rose from your seat, then walked around the table toward Jonggun. You offered to hold Yena. He appreciated your considerate gesture. That way he could eat his dinner comfortably.
You were quite amazed at such a heavy-sleeper she was. She remained calm when you moved her from Jonggun's arm into yours.
Then silence filled the room, while questions filled your head. The love of your life seemed to notice your silent curiosity.
Cute, he thought to himself.
"Are you perhaps interested in hearing a story?" he said, finally.
"Well of course I am. Pray tell?"
While cradling Yena, you positioned yourself gently onto the chair next to him. Jonggun began to talk about how the man he was working for requested him to gather a huge amount of money to fund his business. He told you how he was supposed to meet that request by collecting 100 million Won worth of deposit money from each gang of teenagers from all over Seoul.
"So basically one of the crews refused to hand over their cash, so I took their leader's daughter."
Crews. That's what he called the gangs. Groups of teenagers who ran various illegal businesses to earn money so they can deposit 100 million Won to Jonggun every month. Some of them managed to still keep the remaining income as a profit, while some of them didn't. The few others couldn't even fulfil the deposit. That was when Jonggun had to eliminate them.
"Why don't you just, you know, eliminate that crew instead of taking the trouble to kidnap her?" you inquired, gesturing toward the sleeping toddler in your arm.
"Because I see a great potential in their leader. I think he would be a perfect successor for me. You know I'm going to retire soon."
"You crazy bastard," you remarked sharply despite the smirk on your face. You couldn't deny that his story amused you. It always felt like an adventure just being by Jonggun's side. He's very... thrilling.
"And you love me," Jonggun retorted, winking. You rolled your eyes at his cheesy act.
Jonggun thanked you for the delicious meal, then planted a quick kiss on your temple. He announced that he was going to take a shower and told you to leave Yena to the maids' care.
"Wait, babe!" you called out to your husband after one of your maids took Yena from your arms.
"Yeobo, let's wash together!"
You followed the love of your life to the master suite. At that very moment, you were glad the toddler was not your husband's mistress's child. God forbid if he even had a mistress!
Edit: part 3 is here!
The Life and Death of Kim Gabryong
The lack of information about Kim Gimyung's father on Lookism Wikia inspired me to write this.
Caution: it's going to be a pretty long read
Ever since Kim Gabryong's name was first mentioned in the Lookism manhwa, I fell in lo- No. I mean was interested. I was intrigued. Dude had successfully shifted my attention from the handsomest gang leader in the universe, Kim Gimyung, to... well, him.
"But he's dead. Plus, barely anyone talked about his past life. There's nothing to dig about him, really," said somebody who stopped reading Lookism after Big Deal's Arc. Rumor has it that they have been blessed with an overwhelming amount of free time, so they continued their reading due to boredom.
Now you see what I mean, don't you, random person?
Kim Gabryong plays a huge role in the generations of fighters in the Lookism universe. Despite not being talked about much, I think so far we've got enough clues that allow us to take a glimpse of his character, his life, and the mystery of his death.
And, as a good future daughter in law who loves his son with all her heart, I wanted to honor him. May you rest in peace, abeoji. Just kidding
He was the leader of the most influential mafia group in Generation 0 called Gapryong's Fist Gang. I'd like to assume he was also the founder, because his name is literally there. So I think it's safe to say that the whole gang aspects in the story of Lookism begins with this man.
Gabryong "Fist of Justice" Kim was admired by his peers and subordinates yet despised by common society. Kim Gabryong was a hero to some, and a villain to the others (including his son Kim Gimyung and his wife Kang Minseon).
"My feelings for you are like my cigarette butt on your portrait. Extinguished." - Kang Minseon, probably.
When Kim Gimyung asked her what kind of person his dad was like, she answered with the most charming smile, and I quote:
"He was the worst piece of shit ever."
Such an elegant and profound description this woman had of her beloved late husband. However, was he really a piece of shit like she said he was?
According to Kang Minseon, he was a jerk to the women who knew him. But he could never pass by someone in need or ignore any kind of injustice.
He had a sense of passion or romance or whatever, yet he couldn't even keep a romance with his lawfully wedded wife. But was there even romance between Minseon and Gabryong in the first place? I don't know. The two never seemed to even like each other. It smells suspiciously like an arranged marriage here.
In my head, I imagine Minseon as the daughter of a rich conglomerate who was married off to Gabryong by her parents for some kind of agreement. Her family wanted the most powerful gang as their back up, while Gabryong wanted an heir through a marriage.
Remember chapter 395 where Kang Minseon stated that Kim Gabryong didn't care when his mistress had a baby, and yet he was ecstatic when he found out that she was pregnant?
What about that time when Kim Gabryong was asked how many children he had? he said:
"Gimyung's the only son I have around his age."
"There's no need to have another child when I've already got a son."
Yeah? what about your other son, huh Gabryong? Didn't you already have a child seven years before you had Gimyung?
Did you not recognize him as your son because you had him outside of your marriage with Minseon?
Hmm I wonder how the kid felt about that. Minseon said he went to rule a gang in Mexico because he "got what he wanted".
"Don't ask me more about that. It's connected to the circumstances of your father's death," said she.
Um... actually ma'am, that's exactly why you need to tell us more because that was hella suspicious. But on second thought, we better end this conversation. I feel like this woman would kill us if we ask any more questions.
But hey, that's just my stupid theory.
Kang Minseon didn't seem to give a damn if her husband ran off to see different women, though. Which he did quite often according to Kim Gimyung.
"Dad, where are you going? Are you leaving mom at home to see those weird girls again?" - Little Gimyung, Ep. 306.
"Fuck you, dad" - Kim Gimyung, most definitely.
In Little Gimyung's eyes, his father was an unfaithful man to his family. He often left him and his mom at home to see some "weird girls". Despite that, Gabryong was respected by people for being fair and "using his fist to help people". When Gimyung asked his mom why, all he got was silence. The poor Little Gimyung couldn't wrap his head around it. So he came to one conclusion: gangsters are not cool and he hates them. Several years later with the same mindset as he had when he was little, he ran away from home.
Time went by and the whole Big Deal becoming one of the 4 crews fiasco happened. Gimyung, who just quit Big Deal was faced by a dilemma of whether or not he should help Big Deal girls who were threatened by Samuel at the time. So he consulted his mother about his father in hopes that he would get a hint of what he should do next.
When his mother said that Gabryong had always helped anyone in need and never ignored any form of injustice, Gimyung's hatred for Gabryong seemed to subside. I personally would like to think that Kim Gimyung wearing his dad's gloves symbolizes that he wanted to continue Gabryong's legacy.
Park Jonggun seemed to have a great amount of respect for Kim Gabryong. When he found out that Kim Gimyung was the son of Kim Gabryong, he immediately lost interest in Seo Seongun. He said to himself, and I quote:
"I wouldn't say no to Gabryong's son taking over Big Deal."
While the fellas in Big Deal also whispered the same thing to each other:
"Is Gimyung-hyung gonna be our leader?"
"Of course. He's Gabryong's son."
Which couldn't help but make me wonder, what does being Gabryong's son have to do with taking over Big Deal?
Are you saying that Big Deal was originally founded by Kim Gabryong?
Idk. That sounds pretty plausible to me. What do you think?
Gabryong "Fist of Justice" Kim was a big guy with big dreams. He got into politics since his youth but alas, he never succeeded. City folks threw eggs at him during his speech, exclaiming that they didn't want a mafia in the congress. However despite those egg-throwing and shit-talking, he kept running for congress every chance he got until his death.
Dude's got the tenacity of two tiny Lego blocks that are attached together by super glue. Not to mention the amount of money that guy must have had for organizing those campaigns, which I'm sure were not cheap.
But what can you say? after all, he was a thug who wanted to change the world with his fist. I guess that's why he wanted to become a congressman so badly.
"You're nothing but a thug. You seriously think you can change the world with your fists?" - Park Jinyoung, Ep. 398.
The cause of his death is still a mystery. Though I'm 100% sure his wife Kang Minseon knew about it. She just refused to reveal the secret even to her own son. Maybe despite her cold exterior, she's actually worried about how her son would react if he found out the reason behind his father's death. Unbeknownst to her, the lack of answer piqued Gimyung's curiosity even more. He then decided to set a goal. That is to find out what happened in the time period between Generation 0 and Generation 1, that led to his father's death.
And now we're still waiting for Kim Gimyung's next move to achieve that goal.
Will he ask Im Rua to gather some information for him?
Will he travel to Mexico to find his half brother and ask him about his father?
Or... Will he form alliances with Hostel, Burn Knuckles, J High, and the rest of Generation 2 to raid Ilhae, and then torture Yoojin for information?
Dear Kim Gimyung, if the latter is what you have in mind, then I suggest you don't just stop there. Cause I think there's a huge chance Yoojin wouldn't tell you either because he wouldn't want to, or simply because he really has no idea. Here's what I think you should do to gain the maximum amount of info in the quickest way possible.
You and your guys break into Ilhae's HQ.
Beat up the executives (including Songeun if you wanna. Or maybe you'd rather convince him to rejoin Big Deal instead. It's up to you, babe).
Torture Yoojin into revealing the location of Jinyoung's lab.
Steal a vial of truth serum. You won't have to fight Jinyoung first if you're lucky.
Take the serum, go to your mom's house, pour it into her tea. Make sure she drinks that.
And bam. Your mom will voluntarily give you every bit of information you could've asked for.
While you're at it, I'm going to try to make a deduction out of the pieces of clues that I've gathered so far.
Here's a kiss for good luck. Mwah π
See you in the next post where I write about the conspiracies around Kim Gabryong's death.
That awkward moment when a Tumblr post describes my entire life
Even a horse can be prettier than me
I know this horse would be judging me if I was ever in its presenceΒ
Afternoon Soto
So I found this Kim Gimyung edit on Pinterest (π€£π€£π€£) and couldn't help but be inspired to write a drabble featuring Soto Ayam, an Indonesian chicken soup.
You and Gimyung made your way to the school cafeteria where you can order a nice bowl of Soto Ayam. It's a chicken soup with rice, topped with a generous amount of shredded chicken, chopped cabbage, ground shrimp crackers, and vermicelli noodles.
****************************************************
You and your fellow members of the Student Council were planning a cultural festival for your school as a celebration after working your asses off during finals week. It's been an hour since you left your last period and went to the student council room to attend the afternoon meeting. You were a little cranky out of hunger and exhaustion. Not a single minute passed without you wishing the meeting would be over soon.
"That concludes the meeting for today. I will see you tomorrow to discuss the rundown for our event. Thanks for coming, guys." Said The Student Council President, Han Shinwoo, finally.
He then erased the whiteboard filled with the notes he scribbled after he let everyone take a picture of it with their phones. Everyone except you. Because you always preferred taking actual notes on your binder to snapping a shot of someone else's handwriting. Not to mention Han Shinwoo's handwriting was... a little less pleasing to the eye.
"Tsk tsk... Such dedication. No wonder you're one of the top students in our school," commented your desk mate, Kim Gimyung as he stole a glance at your neatly written notes.
"Well, unlike you, Mr. Top Five who takes naps during classes yet still manages to get straight A's. I actually have to work my ass off to get to where I am," you clapped back, mildly offended. You weren't always like this, though. It's the post finals stress that got to you. And hunger. And tiredness.
"Relax, buddy. I'm saying you don't have to take this seriously. We've just had our finals. It's time to party!" On the word "party", Gimyung threw his hands in the air, oblivious to the people turning their heads at his direction in surprise. You felt like dying in embarrassment.
"Besides if you let yourself be too stressed out, you'll turn out to be like that guy," Gimyung said jokingly while pointing his thumb at Seo Songeun who sat two desks away behind you.
"I can hear you!" The guy shouted, giving Gimyung the finger, then he made his way past your desk. Without breaking eye contact. Still giving him the finger.
You watched as Seo Songeun stepped out of the room. As soon as he disappeared from sight, you let out a snort. You didn't notice the boy beside you smiling from ear to ear just by hearing your laughter.
"Come on," he said, "let's get something delicious. I'm starving."
Gimyung grabbed his backpack and walked leisurely leaving your shared desk. You followed suit.
Both of you made your way to the school cafeteria where you can order a nice bowl of Soto Ayam. It's a chicken soup with rice, topped with a generous amount of shredded chicken, chopped cabbage, ground shrimp crackers, and vermicelli noodles.
Gimyung asked if you wanted a hard boiled egg with your soto and you nodded your head yes.
Soon after, he came back to the table of your choice, carrying a tray with two bowls of Soto Ayam on it. You and Gimyung enjoyed your meals as both of you chatted away about your day.
There was a chinese calligraphy in the living room of Jake's childhood home. I never knew what it meant until recently.
"Hero Lust"
The desire to be a hero.
If that doesn't scream Kim Gabryong, idk what does.
"He could never pass by someone in need or ignore any kind of injustice." - Kang Minseon a.k.a Jake's mom
I'd like to imagine that Seong Yohan went to Eli's hair salon for this haircut.
He looks fine af π«π
And it would be frickin' wholesome if Eli was the one who did his hair. My man has finally grown out of that hydra cut phase and gained some mad hairdressing skillz
