oh, to be secretly dating jungwon đ«¶

pairing: school president!jungwon x club president!reader genre: secret dating, highschool, jungwon is jealous with club vice president!sunghoon, FLUFF!! en-drama typa jungwon word count: 2.3k summary: jungwon and you knew it's for the best that you keep your relationship hidden for now, however, things have been hard for jungwon ever since the whole campus started thinking that sunghoon and you make a great pair.
His laugh you'd die for, his laugh you'd die for The kind that colors the sky...
every first monday of the month brought a unique buzz to the broadcasting club. it wasnât just about club projects or the regular announcementsâthere was something else in the air, something that made your heart race a little faster. it was the day jungwon, the school body president, would step through the door for his monthly broadcast. to everyone else, it was just routineâan official duty where the admired campus figure would deliver school updates. but to you, it was more than that. it was the one time you could be near him without arousing suspicion.
you, the disciplined and respected president of the broadcasting club, known for your flawless grades and no-nonsense attitude, and jungwon, the schoolâs golden boy, adored by every girl who passed him in the hallway. on the surface, you were nothing more than polite acquaintancesâjust two student leaders crossing paths for official business. but beneath that carefully crafted facade, there was so much more that the rest of the school didnât know.
today, like clockwork, you heard that familiar knock at the door. straightening up, you cleared your throat, trying to act as composed as ever.
âcome in,â you called out, keeping your voice steady.
jungwon stepped inside, and the usual chatter of the club quieted down. he smiled politely, his gaze quickly scanning the room until it landed on you. but as usual, you pretended not to notice, staying focused on the papers in front of you.
âhereâs the announcement script,â you said, handing it to him without so much as a second glance. your heart pounded, but you maintained your distant, professional facade.
as he took the script from you, his fingers brushed yoursâjust for a secondâand it sent a wave of warmth rushing through you. he didnât meet your eyes, but you knew what that touch meant. behind the polite smile he wore in front of your club members, there was something more. and you wanted to believe no one noticed the way his fingers lingered, even if just for a heartbeat.
sunghoon, your vice president, leaned back in his chair, completely unaware of the tension. âiâll review the schedule with y/n before we finalize it. right, president?â he asked, smiling at you like always.
âright,â you replied, forcing a smile back, though your mind was elsewhere. you caught jungwonâs jaw clench slightly, something only you could notice. he had heard the rumorsâthe whispers around school that you and sunghoon looked like the âperfect couple.â people shipped you two together, even though sunghoon was just a good friend who had no interest in relationships. jungwon never mentioned it, but you could tell it bothered him more than he let on.
as jungwon left the room, a small part of you wondered if that would be your last interaction for the day, but you knew better.
to everyone else, it was official business as usual: the president visiting the broadcasting club to announce the schoolâs plans and upcoming events. but to you and jungwon, there was an unspoken connection woven into these formalities, hidden beneath the surface of your perfectly poised exteriors. and then there was sunghoonâyour broadcasting clubâs vice presidentâalways by your side, unaware of the subtle, electric tension that hung between you and jungwon during these monthly meetings.
today, as you navigated the bustling hallways of your school, you could feel eyes on you. it wasnât unusual; as the strict, organized, and admired president of the broadcasting club, people often looked up to you. but the whispers and glances lately were different, especially when sunghoon walked beside you.
âthey look so good together.â
âi swear, they must be secretly dating.â
âsheâs always with him. itâs just like one of those romance novels.â
you heard the whispers and pretended not to care. you and sunghoon had always been close friends, working seamlessly together, and despite what people said, you knew there was nothing romantic between you. but there was someone else who wasnât as indifferent to those rumors.
as you entered your classroom later that morning, your gaze drifted down the hallway, half-expecting to see jungwon pass by on his way to class. your heart skipped a beat when you spotted him. he walked with that calm, composed air, surrounded by a group of his friends. the girls nearby were in full swoon mode, whispering excitedly the moment he appeared. jungwon was the definition of the campus crushâhandsome, charming, and utterly out of reach for most.
you quickly looked down, busying yourself with your notes. jungwon couldnât approach you, not here, not with so many eyes on him. but as his footsteps drew nearer, you froze. was he really coming over? the air around you tensed, your fingers tightening around your pen. please donât. not in front of everyoneâŠ
and then, he walked straight toward your deskâbut not to you. instead, he leaned over to your classmate, the one seated directly in front of you.
âhey,â jungwon said casually, flashing that easygoing smile that made every girlâs heart flutter. âcan i borrow that biology book you mentioned last week?â
your heart sank and surged all at once. he wasnât here for youâbut then again, maybe he was. his left hand rested on your desk as he spoke to your classmate, his fingers so close you could feel the warmth radiating from them. you glanced down, glaring at his hand as though it had betrayed you. did he really have to lean on your desk?
your classmate handed him the book, completely oblivious to the silent turmoil you were in. jungwon didnât look at you, but you could sense the faintest hint of a smirk pulling at the corner of his lips.
âthanks,â he said smoothly, turning to leave. but before he walked away, his hand brushed over your desk once more, as if to remove something heâd forgotten. you glanced down after he left and saw itâwrapped candy with a crumpled note tucked beneath.
your fingers trembled as you carefully unfolded the note, glancing around to make sure no one was watching. the message inside was simple, but it made your heart race:
âhi gorgeous, i miss u :( just want to tell you how much i want to hold your hand right now. CU l8r <3â
a smile tugged at your lips despite your best efforts to remain composed. you crumpled the note back into your palm, hiding it away before anyone noticed. that brief interaction had felt like an eternity, and your heart still raced from the near disaster of him actually talking to you. but now, all you could think about was the note, and the secret rendezvous waiting after school.
the day crawled by, and soon enough, the afternoon bell signaled the time for jungwonâs monthly broadcast. the familiar hum of equipment filled the broadcasting room as you and sunghoon prepared for the transmission. you kept things professional as always, though you could sense the mounting tension.
when jungwon arrived, the atmosphere shifted instantly. his usual calm demeanor was in place, but you saw the slight flicker in his eyes when he glanced at you standing next to sunghoon. it was subtleâjust a brief tightening of his jaw, a flicker of something unspokenâbut you knew what it meant.
you handed him the microphone, nodding as you spoke in your most official voice. âthe floor is yours, president.â
âthank you,â jungwon replied, taking the mic with practiced ease.
as jungwon spoke into the mic, laying out the plans for the month, you kept your eyes on the monitor, pretending to focus on the broadcast. his voice was smooth and steady, but you couldnât ignore the way it made your heart skip.
â...and as we move into the second semester, we look forward to increased collaboration between our students and the research institute,â jungwon announced, his voice echoing through every classroom.
you felt a tug, something beyond the words, and against your better judgment, you glanced at him. to your surprise, he was already looking at you. just for a second, his eyes held yours before he turned back to the camera. it was quickâbarely noticeableâbut it sent a flutter through your chest.
in that tiny moment, you knew. even with the whole school listening, it felt like the words were just for you.
meanwhile, sunghoon remained oblivious, casually checking the sound levels as jungwon spoke. he leaned back in his chair, totally unaware of the silent storm brewing between you and jungwon.
the broadcast ended without a hitch, and jungwon handed the mic back to you. âgood job,â you said, keeping your voice professional.
âthanks,â jungwon replied. he was all business now, but as he walked past you toward the door, his fingers brushed your hand, a fleeting touch meant only for you.
sunghoon, who was packing up the equipment, didnât notice a thing. you wished you could feel the same ease, but every time sunghoon stood close to you, or when he smiled too casually, you felt the weight of jungwonâs gaze, the jealousy simmering beneath his calm surface.
after school, you took your usual route, heading in the opposite direction from jungwon as always. the two of you were carefulâno one could suspect that the broadcasting club president and the school body president were secretly dating. but as you turned down the familiar alleyway behind the school, there he was, leaning against the brick wall, waiting for you with that familiar mischievous smile. the moment your eyes met, you felt the weight of the day melt away.
âhey,â he said softly, his voice no longer the cool, composed tone of the school president, but warm and affectionateâjust for you.
âhey,â you replied, your smile growing as you walked toward him.
without saying a word, he slipped your backpack off your shoulders and pulled you into his arms, his fingers intertwining with yours like it was the most natural thing in the world. in that moment, the tension of the dayâthe whispers, the teasing, the rumorsâmelted away. everything faded the instant you were alone with him, the world outside forgotten.
âyou have no idea how hard it was to keep a straight face during that broadcast,â he murmured against your hair. âstanding there, talking to the entire school, while you were right there next to sunghoon.â
you smiled into his chest, feeling the warmth of his embrace. âsunghoon? really? you know he doesnât care about the rumors. heâs just doing his job.â
jungwon sighed, resting his chin on your head. âi know. but still⊠i hate that people keep pairing you two together.â
âi donât care what they think,â you replied softly. âi only care about you.â
jungwon smiled down at you, his eyes filled with affection as he laced his fingers through yours. âi know. and thatâs all that matters.â he gently tugged you closer, his forehead resting against yours. âbut sometimes i wish i could justââ
âjust what?â you teased, smiling at how cute he looked when he was flustered.
he hesitated for a moment, before breaking into a mischievous grin. âsometimes i just want to make it obvious to everyone that youâre mine. forget all the secrecy.â
you laughed softly, your heart fluttering at his words. âwe canât, remember? the school would lose its mind.â
jungwon groaned, his hand tightening around yours. âi know. but i miss you so much during the day. all those girls swooning over me in the hallway⊠itâs hard not to tell them iâm already taken.â
âwell,â you said, leaning in closer, your lips brushing his cheek, âyou donât have to worry. iâm the only one who gets to hold your hand after school.â
he chuckled softly, squeezing your hand. âand i wouldnât have it any other way.â
âi missed you,â jungwon murmured softly, his thumb gently brushing against your hand. âit felt like forever since i last saw you.â
his voice, low and tender, sent a warmth through you that rivaled the sunlight, and you couldnât help but smile at how much those simple words made your heart flutter.
you laughed softly, squeezing his hand. âyou saw me at lunch. in fact, you nearly gave me a heart attack.â
he smirked, clearly proud of himself. âwhat? borrowing a book from your classmate isnât allowed anymore?â he teased, though his eyes sparkled with something more.
âyou know exactly what you were doing,â you shot back, playfully nudging him. âleaving a note like that? what if someone had seen it?â
âno one did,â jungwon replied smoothly, pulling you closer to him. âbesides, i like the thrill of almost getting caught.â
you rolled your eyes, though the smile tugging at your lips was impossible to hide. âyouâre impossible.â
âbut you love me anyway,â he said softly, his thumb brushing over your knuckles. there was a gentleness in his voice, one that only came out when it was just the two of you.
you leaned into him, resting your head against his shoulder as the world around you grew quieter. in the dim light of the alley, away from prying eyes, the two of you could finally be yourselvesâno rumors, no pretenses. just you and jungwon, hand in hand, hearts racing in sync.
âi do,â you whispered, closing your eyes as you let yourself sink into the comfort of his presence. âi love you.â
the words felt like a promise, a secret meant only for the two of you. and in that moment, nothing else mattered.
THEY MIGHT NOT BUT I WANT ANSWERS!!!
1:56 am | niki x female reader , best friends to ?, college au
ââ warnings: kissing, cursing, drinking, vomiting, skinship | wc: 1.31k
an | it's a canon event that i come onto this acc every few months js to write self projecting fics then dip, also new layout ig!
âAnother shot!â it was the fifth time niki had heard you call those words out and he figured it was time to intervene before he would be lugging you home slung across his shouldersÂ
Before you could even grab the drink niki quickly downed the whole thing stopping you in your tracks â quite evidently leaving you annoyed. In all honesty niki was doing you a favour, he just inhaled two shots worth of tequila for you and he was never known to be big on hard liquor. Though his efforts remained in vain, from the corner of his eye he noticed the all too familiar glint of red plastic in your hand a bit too late â there goes your liver.
âYN come on I think thatâs enough drinks for tonight-â niki insisted whilst attempting to push you away from the living room coffee table that had turned into a pseudo beer pong station â sticky with alcohol and swarmed by intoxicated laughing.
âStop youâre so lame,â despite his firm grasp on your wrist you managed to put up a pretty hefty fight before wriggling yourself loose âI had like what- 5 drinks?â
âPlus 6 more at pregramingâ karina managed to chime in â and of course thatâs when she decides to join in the convo â much to your annoyance her comment completely juxtaposed her pouring tequila down your throat 15 minutes prior.Â
Snapping a dirty glare you were about to defend yourself until nikiâs voice boomed through your ears.
â11 drinks? Do you want to die of alcohol poisoning or something?â caring as always â god you hated that.Â
Of course you knew niki cared about you, it was just â certain times his kindness felt misplaced. Like when you would offhandedly mention liking that cherry glazed lip gloss you saw displayed at a price far too high to be considered, yet the product was already in nikiâs hand and checked out before you could even get a say. Or when you would find 10000 won slipped under your wallet after club meetings where you had been incessantly complaining about your growling stomach, a small note attached to it with his toddler like handwriting â laughable but endearing. Or the times you would find yourself flooded in club meetings and activity preparations, somehow niki always managed to lighten the load. You appreciated it really â but you could never get rid of the annoyance that brewed in your gut.Â
âDoes he do this for all his other friends? I mean weâre close but â thereâs a line.â
He had to know the implications of his actions right? Or were you just imagining things you wanted.Â
Your friendship always seemed to balance on a tightrope of something you knew wasn't platonic â but if you never acted on it hey, whatâs the harm done? Who were you to decline his offers? Heâs just kind, heâs nice. Heâs just niki.Â
This was just another instance of him caring far too much for your liking. It bothered you but you masked it with banter as always. âDude Iâm fine- like really itâs noth-â and suddenly the sickening sensation of warmth trickling up your throat plagued your senses. You made a B-line for the bathroom.Â
Quickly following behind niki kneeled down behind you, his hands immediately rushing to hold your hair back as you puked your guts out (again.) and even though vomit was pouring out your throat somehow nikiâs fingertips brushing against your cheek overpowered the burning sensation of bile gushing out.Â
The warmth of his breath tickled the nape of your neck whilst his other hand reached over to trace circles on your back in attempts to soothe you. You were vomiting your guts out, the least romantic situation one could be in, and you could only focus on nikiâs gaze burning into the back of your head.Â
Shooting your head up niki reached to wipe your mouth with discarded tissue paper, quietly mumbling under his breath âyeah thatâs enough for todayâŠâ and for once you could only nod.Â
The trip back to his apartment was a blur. You could only really remember the frustration that lingered in his words as he muttered âyouâre two years older, why am I the one having to take care of youâŠâ suddenly you were transported back to when you were 6 sitting through your mothers scoldings.
His frustrated pout and furrowed eyebrows however didnât bring out the same fear your mother did though, you could only giggle thinking about how funny this whole situation was. Looping your arm with his you feigned innocence, putting on your best pout and repeated apologies (you never meant them) until you reached his shabby studio apartment.Â
âStop YNâŠâ his tone unusually firm, you took notice to how he attempted to remove his arms from your grasp. Huh, why did that bother you?
âWait â are you seriously mad?â you were shocked but in all honesty it wouldnât be too surprising considering he had cleaned up your messes far too many times to count. Trailing behind him like a puppy you awaited a response whilst he picked through his clothes to find something suitable for you to wear. Your eyes drilled in on his expression, he seemed- uneasy.
âNo YN itâs-â sighing out he handed you his worn grey shirt that was five sizes too big and a pair of grey sweatpants that you knew you would have to fold over just for them to barely hang on your hips âyouâre just always like this when youâre drunkâ
âLike what?â
âJust, insincere.â Now what the hell was that supposed to mean? âJust change we can talk in the morningâ
You were in awe. Niki was being uncharacteristically moody and you really couldnât pinpoint why. A part of you felt annoyed that he even had the audacity to talk about insincerity when none of his actions were ever genuine either. At least you never thought they were.Â
Slipping into his oversized clothing that hung over you like a drape you made your way to his bed and laid down beside him as he leaned against the headboard picking aggressively at the loose seams in his shirt.Â
âYouâre just-â he finally started, still avoiding your gaze though âyou get too clingyâŠâ the position you guys were in really didnât help your case too much eitherÂ
âIs that such a bad thing?â
âItâs just, none of this feels right when itâs ingenuineâ he said before adjusting himself to lay flat next to her.
âDo you want it to be or something?â
Silence.Â
âYou know I could honestly say the same thing about you though,â even whilst bickering your hand seemed to find its way to the dip of his collarbones, tracing circles across its smooth exterior âdonât you know what your actions mean?â
âYeah, I doâÂ
You could only laugh in disbelief, yeah and he wants to talk about not being genuine.
âYou donât stop me thoughâ his hands found themselves nested in your knotted hair, looping it back and forth between his fingers. He wasnât wrong, you never did stop him, perhaps it was because you never felt like it was too much of a big deal â or maybe a small part of you hoped he would finally get enough of your oblivion and cross the line.Â
Engulfed in silence you could only gaze down at his fingers that were now entangled with yours, his hands previously playing with your locks of hair now adjusted to nest you close to his chest for you to hear his heartbeat. You figured your silence was enough of an answer â it always was.Â
Drifting off to sleep you felt the gentle pressure of his lips on the top of your forehead before muttering out that you were probably tired in lieu of a goodnight.Â
Somehow it always ended this way, and somehow youâd rather settle for that than an answer.

NOTE. i said i won't be writing but here we are. this is very very slightly inspired by kieta hatsukoi. this, in no way, is supposed to disrespect the manga plot in anyway. i'm aware that it's a bl manga + show, i respect that. i wanted to write something with the plot and i know i could've made this a bl fic but first, i'm simply not comfortable with romantic portrayals of idol x idol ships and second, i'm not experienced with writing x male reader fics and i don't want to get anything wrong. besides, nothing really is same except the eraser and name incident. on another note, the pronouns for reader used here are they / them to make this more inclusive so you can imagine it whichever way you wish. send an ask / comment to join the taglist. happy reading. playlist

00. DAMN YOU, YANG JUNGWON.
For the first time in Nishimura Rikiâs eighteen years of life, heâd missed school. He didnât know he was capable of feeling such strong feelings towards a place he barely ever entered, but here he was, scrolling through college vlogs with a frown downturning his lips.
FOMO was a disease, and Riki had most definitely caught it.
He envied how the students had so much fun in a place as horrific as school, and finally understood why his members had constantly wished to re-live their school days.
He had been cooped up in his roomâbinging college videosâ for so long that none of his members had seen him the entire day. Jungwon was the first to notice his sudden disappearance, knocking on Rikiâs door. When he didnât answer, Jungwon had let himself in, his face wearing a confused expression after seeing Rikiâs state.
He had been on his couch, with a bag of chips to his left and his knees up to his chin, hypnotized by the video playing on the television. Jungwon followed his line of vision, disbelief painting his face upon realizing what was going on.
âRiki,â Jungwon spoke, snapping the eighteen year old out of his trance. He turned his head towards him, letting him continue. âWhat have you been doing?â His question came out in a small chuckle, still dumbfounded by what he had just seen.
Riki sighed. âI want to go to school.â He took the remote of his television, pausing the Korea University Festival Vlog he had been playing. Jungwonâs eyes widened. âAll of a sudden? I thought you hated school.â
âYou know, I thought I did too! I probably still do,â Riki paused. âI just, want to experience it, but you and I both know thatâs impossible.â He referred to the psychotic nature of their fans, ENGENE, who would definitely perform the unthinkable once they got their hands on the college Riki would attend, if he were to attend.
âWhy donât you ask the company?â Jungwon proposed, his voice optimistic, as opposed to Rikiâs replying deadpan expression. âAre you going deaf, or did you just miss the part where I said that would be impossible?â
âYou wonât know that until you ask,â Jungwon refuted, still positive as ever. âWho knows? The company might say yes, and theyâd make sure of your safety if they do.â
âWhen have they ever insured our safety?â
ââŠTouchĂ©, but still!â Jungwon was insistent in pushing this crazy idea, for reasons he couldnât even understand. âCâmon, Riki, thereâs no harm in asking. It could be fun! You could make friends,â Jungwon nudged his shoulder, eye brows rising and falling repeatedly, âmaybe you could fall for someoneââ
âThatâs enough, Jungwon,â Riki cut off his memberâs delusions, following up with a scowl. âIâm not going to ask, this whole college thing will probably blow over in a few days, so please, let it go.â
Jungwon sighed, accepting his defeat. Riki was a stubborn guy, so once he speaks out on something, there was no changing his mind no matter what. âWell, I canât force you to ask, so Iâll let you be,â the twenty year old kept a small smile on his face, making his way out the room. âDonât sleep too late,â he joked as he shut the door, not waiting around to witness Rikiâs eyes roll in response.
Riki knew himself better than anyone. Of course he would, thereâs nobody whoâs been around to know him well enough than himself. Despite knowing this, he couldnât help but wonder if Jungwon could be right. What if he did ask his company to let him attend university? What if they said yes? What if it was actually everything heâd been admiring through a screen?
Safe to say, the boy was conflicted, for the first time in a long time. Damn you, Yang Jungwon.
âSo what if, hypothetically, I were to ask you if I could start attending university, and I would be, hypothetically, really desperate,â Riki started rambling to his manager, Min, who was looking back at him blankly. âIf this were the case, hypothetically, how would you respond?â He was not slick at all, Min knew exactly what he was doing.
âSo, you want to attend college?â
âThis is hypothetical, Min,â Riki whined, âjust answer the question, please.â
âWell,â Min decided to play along with his âhypotheticalâ scenario, âI donât see the problem in going to college, except for the fact that your safety may not always be guaranteed, and that your schedule might keep you from attending a lot of the time.â
âSo I can go?â
âIâll bring it up at the next meeting.â At this point, Riki knew that Min was answering non-hypothetically, but it didnât bother him, especially after finding out that he had a shot at attending university. âThank you, thank you, thank you!â He squealed, rubbing his hands together excitedly. Min shook his head, chuckling from Rikiâs endearing reaction. âOf course,â he finished, leaving Riki alone with his thoughts.
He wasnât planning to get so enthusiastic about the situation, but his heart managed to overpower his actions way more than his brain could, and he was hyped up in a way words couldnât express. Maybe this would be fun, just like Jungwon had told him.
01. HYPEN PEOPLE..?
âWhat the hell is an ENHYPEN?â The name sounded so bizarre, it made you laugh. Your best friend, Nora, stared back at you, shaking her head with a deadpanned frown on her face. âAre you seriously telling me you donât know the ENHYPEN?â
You shook your head. Pop culture was never your thing, you focused more on the fashion world. So when Nora started freaking out over a new student that was apart of a K-Pop group you couldnât even repeat because of how odd it sounded, you could only stare blankly. âWhy is an idol attending university so important? I donât get it,â You asked. You furrowed a quizzical brow.
Nora sighed. âThis is like, if Adriana Lima joined your yoga class,â she explained, mentioning names you would recognize. âThis is a huge, huge deal!â It was then where you realized that this idol guy was probably super popular, and that classes tomorrow are going to be an utter disaster.
You couldnât have been more correct. Walking onto campus, cameras were flashing like crazy, and hundreds of people were crowded outside the universityâs entrance. Your eyes widened. âNo way this many people are bunched up on a Monday for an idol,â you were in shock. Nora nodded, an I told you so smirk curling her lips. âAre you kidding?! This guy is one of the most recognized dancers in K-pop!â
âI would think heâd be a little older if he were that recognizable,â you argued. âI bet if you put him in front of an elder, theyâd be puzzled.â
Nora shook her head. âHis group is crazy viral. Did you know theyâre the global ambassadors of PRADA right now?â She knew that would get you.
âOh. Woah.â
âYeah, woah,â Nora finished, parting ways with you to head to her classes, âSee you later, girl.â
âYeah.. see you.â Now you were interested in this idol. How could someone not only represent one of the most iconic brands in fashion, but also be an insanely-talented performer? It was intriguing, you wondered if youâd ever see him on campus one day.
Think about it: the chances of this guy being in your year, in your classes? Very low.
What you learned after today, was that even if the odds are low, they are never zero.
Your first class of the day was more packed than usual. You managed to find a seat in the back, where, thankfully, nobody was. You always preferred having your space during class, which was why you almost always went to the back seats for lectures.
The door of the lecture hall opened, revealing a tall guy with a presence so strong, the hall went silent. His outfit was well-styled, you thought. The black jacket he wore with baggy pants of the same color, layered with a grey hoodie under, along with hair that almost looks like it was done professionally.
You were impressed, you guessed he mustâve been majoring in fashion like you were. If that were the case, though, why had you never seen him before?
âListen up everybody!â Your professor, Mr. Kang, gathered everyoneâs attention. âAs you all may know, we do have a new student here on campus. I ask you to be mature, and not act un-orderly near them.â He referred to the guy next to him, who, although stood six feet in the air, looked very small at the moment. So he was new.
âMoving on, take out your notes from the last lectureâŠâ
The new guy quickly walked to the back of the room with his bag. Unfortunately, there werenât that many free seats in the back like usual, the only free spot next to you. He sighed before sitting beside you, being careful not to disturb you.
He took glances at you from time to time, taking in your appearance. You didnât do much with your outfit, putting on a tube top with baggy jeans and a jacket, but you made it look good. You were pretty.
A voice took him interrupted his staring.
âPrada,â the voice gasped quietly, their eyes trained on the logo sewed into his backpack. Your eyes were wide, it was then you realized who you were sitting next to.
âYou represent them, right?â You continued, eyes moving to look at the guy beside you. âIâ Yes?â The question was so sudden, it caught poor Riki off-guard. You took notice of this right away, going on quickly to apologize. âAh, Iâm so sorry!â you whispered, âDidnât mean to scare you.â
âItâs okay,â Riki panicked, shaking his head. âYouâre with those K-pop guys, right?â You started, voicing your thoughts aloud. âThe.. Hypen people!â
ââŠHypen people?â Riki chuckled, heâd never heard that before. âWait noâ there was something before it, hold on..â You stuttered, mentally cursing yourself for not keeping this to yourself.
âENHYPEN?â Riki helped you out, and you sigh in relief. âThatâs the one! And youâre the dancer guy my friend was talking about, right?â
âIâm Ni-ki, but you can call me Riki.â He holds out his hand, and you shake it, going on to reply with your name. âI take it you donât know much about K-pop,â Riki asked, and you nodded.
âI only found out you existed yesterday, Iâm not that in-tune with all of that business.â That was humbling on Rikiâs end. You scratched your neck sheepishly. âThatâs alright,â he responded, âI can fix that.â
âCan you, now?â You smirked at his confidence.
âWatch me, [Name].â
02. A FIRST DAY TO REMEMBER
You and Riki were not paying attention at all.
Normally, youâd be able to focus during classes, since studying was therapeutic for you. However, with your new seat mate in the picture, and his newfound determination to teach you about the world of K-pop, there was no way you could even think to participate in the lecture.
âWait, so, let me get this straight, you debuted from a survival show? What kind of dystopian bullshit is that?â Riki chuckled at your surprise, although he knew you were completely right. âYeah, it was not fun, but it was totally worth the hard times.â
You shook your head in disbelief, unable to fathom how someone could endure such hardship and almost trauma at such a young age. Come on, he did all of that at fourteen years old? You almost broke out into applause.
âAnyways!â Riki whispered, quiet enough to hide his voice from the ears of the professor, but just loud enough for you to hear him. âI should show you some of the music now.â
âHow would you play music right now?â
âHeadphones, obviously.â
âYou know those are forbidden in here, right?â
âWHAT?!â A loud whisper from Riki had you covering his mouth in haste, a small gasp leaving your lips at the volume of his voice. âGod, Riki, not so loud!â
âIâm sorry, but how are headphones forbidden? They help me focus!â You shook your head, replying, âProfessor Kang believes that they are a distraction, and are unnecessary during lectures, hence the big No Headphones! sign towards the door.â
âAw, man,â he grumbled, his lips forming a small frown. âIâll show you once classes are over, thenâ he quickly got over it, continuing, âWould the library be fine?â
You shot him a deadpan look.
âYeah, it felt stupid after I said it, nevermind.â He scratched the nape of his neck, a sheepish smile on his face. âWe could go to your house!â
âRiki!â You gasped. It was far too early in your friendship to invite him to your house; you just met the guy. âIâm out of ideas! Iâm not good at making friends with normal people!â His frantic whispers made you hysterical, cracking you up at the back of the lecture hall. âRiki, we could just go to a cafĂ© or something.â
âToo public.â
âA convenience store?â
âI think that might be worse than a cafĂ©.â
âAn alleyway? I donât know!â
âWoah, I didnât know you were a troublemaker, Miss [Name].â
âWhat do you do during the day?â You spoke in frustration, your hand running itself through your hair. âDo you just perform all day and sleep?â
âWell, Iâm mostly at the company building, practicing and whatnot, but Iâ Wait!â His eyes widened in realization, âThe company building! I can take you there!â
âOh, no way, Riki,â You waved your hands at him, quick to disagree. âThatâs too grand for a hangout!â
âAre you kidding? Itâs the perfect place to hang out!â He laid his head on the table in front of him, turning to face you with a pleading look. âJust trust me, [Name], people hang out with their friends there all the time!â That was a lie, barely anybody hung out with friends at the company unless they were both idols under the company, but you didnât need to know that just yet.
âAlright, fine,â you sighed. âBut if I get caught going in with you and I get attacked, I will never speak to you again.â
âAye, Aye, Captain!â Rikiâs head sprung from the table, imitating a soldier salute to you right after. You chuckled lightly.
Then the professor dismissed the lesson soon after, âPerfect timing,â Riki smirked. âLetâs get going, friend!â
âIf I run away right now, youâd probably catch me right away, right?â
âThat was a lot of rights, but yes, I would catch you.â
You rolled your eyes before walking out of the hall with Riki, his shoulders purposely bumping yours every once in a while.
âThis song is everything, Riki!â You were in shock. Matter of fact, shock might be an understatement for what you were feeling at the moment. Never in your life did you think youâd be listening to a K-pop song, and loving it, at that. âItâs my favorite track on the album,â He smiled, glad that you enjoyed Brought the Heat Back just as much as he did.
âI see why,â you nodded. âAlso, the styling is insane, who styled these outfits?â
âIâm not sure, to be honest. Probably our stylists.â
âOh, wow.â Everything about that song, from the stages to the music video to the song itself, was simply incredible. âWho is that?â You pointed to the member that was currently in the center of the choreography formation, small beauty marks decorating his face as he sung his part.
âThatâs Sunghoon, whyââ
âWrong. Thatâs the love of my life.â You kept rewinding the performance video, going back five seconds to replay Sunghoonâs part again and again. âHe has such pretty moles!â
âHey, I have moles, too!â
âBut are you Sunghoon?â
ââŠ.Youâre mean.â You chuckled at his sudden sulking, ruffling his styled hair. âIâm just kidding, you big baby.â You took time to search his face for the moles he had mentioned just a moment ago, immediately noticing a small one under his lips. âYour moles suit you, too, I guess.â
âYou guess? That wonât do, Iâm kicking you out.â He shook his head, immediately going to pick you up from the couch you were currently sprawled on in his practice room. âWait, Riki, put me down!â You laughed as he started walking towards the door, trying to literally kick you out.
âYou take it back!â
âFine! Your moles are decent-looking! Please put me down!â You were eventually able to push yourself off of him, meeting gazes with him as the two of you laughed your asses off.
âAHH, WOMAN!â The door suddenly sprung open, revealing a stunned ENHYPEN before Jungwon slammed the door right away. Your laughter quickly ceased, and you looked to Riki, who was looking back at you with a confused expression on his face.
âWere those yourââ
âYeah.â
A knock on the door came, the voice of Jungwon following along with it. âCan we come in?â
Riki looked you for confirmation, and you just shrugged. Who were you to deny them access into their own practice room, anyway? He walked to the door of the practice room, letting his members in as you started gathering your stuff from the couch.
From the corner of your eye, you saw the members of ENHYPEN coming in one by one, and, God, you almost passed out watching Sunghoon walk in. âI can see you, [Name],â Riki mumbled suddenly from beside you, going to help you with your stuff. âFuck! You scared me!â You paused for a moment to clench your chest with your hand.
âSo when did you suddenly decide that you were leaving?â
âSince the moment your members came and looked all intimidating.â
âAnd by members, you mean Sunghoon?â
âThatâs not the point.â
Riki shook his head with a chuckle, still going to see you out of the building nonetheless. âI had fun, [Name]. This was a first day of college to remember, for sure.â
You smiled, waving to him as you began walking away. âBye, Riki!â
He stood there, watching you walk away until physically could not see you anymore. He sighed, a small grin on his lips as he turned to go back to the practice room, not expecting to see Jungwon waiting behind him.
âFucking Hell!â
âA first day to remember, huh?â He smirked, his hand going to Rikiâs shoulder. âYouâre telling us every single detail when we get upstairs, you know that?â
âYeah, yeah, whatever.â He rolled his eyes playfully, as he had not one negative bone in his body, especially not after today.
Perhaps the small bit of negativity he had within had come from you having to leave so soon.
03. SWEETS
âHoly shit.. Holy shit!â Nora exclamations only increased the more you told her about yesterdayâs situation. âSo, let me get this straight, not only did you meet the Nishimura Riki, but you made friends with him, went out with him, and met his members?! Whenâs the marriage?â
âIâm gonna ignore that last part,â Your face scrunched up in a small disgust. Of course, you enjoyed Rikiâs company, and he was pretty funny, but after all, you did meet him yesterday; dating him was out of the question. âWas that his full name you said just now?â
âHe never told you?â
âIt never came up.â
âWow,â Nora exhaled, disbelief etched into her features. âI canât believe yesterday happened. Are you two going out again soon?â
You shook your head. âI truly doubt it. He wasnât in class today, so Iâm guessing heâs busy today.â
Nora sighed, âAh, that makes sense. Canât expect a guy like him to be here every day.â
Her words had you thinking all of a sudden. You made sure to keep yourself a proper distance from Riki so that you wouldnât get attached. After all, he wouldnât always be free, and getting clingy would only drive the two of you apart. Noted.
âWanna have lunch at the local cafĂ© today? I miss my croffles,â Nora asked, not forgetting to shoot you a pair of puppy eyes. âIâm not saying yes because of the puppy eyes, never do those again.â
âBut is it a yes?â
âI, too, really want some croffles right now.â
âWoohoo!â Nora clapped her hands softly, skipping out of campus with her arm linked with yours.
The two of you suddenly stopped at the entrance. âWhatâs with all the cameras?â Noraâs head tilted in confusion, her brows furrowed. âI wish I knew,â you replied, looking at the camera crew that stood outside the cafĂ©. âAre they shooting a commercial or something?â
One of the directors suddenly made eye contact with you, and signaled for you to go inside. You were hesitant, but still walked in with Nora.
The cafĂ© was you and your best friendâs personal favorite. Not only was their coffee top-tier, but their specialty, croffles, or croissant-waffles, were unbelievably tasty.
Yet, when you met gazes with the seven members of ENHYPEN behind the counter instead of the usual baristas, all you wanted to do in that moment was run out of the building. However, there was no backing out of this, and you proceeded to the counter to order.
A member who you remembered to be Sunoo was taking your orders, and he was super sweet. You were shocked when you heard it was his first time working a part-time job, he was a natural. You didnât think heâd recognized you yet, since he was surprisingly calm in front of you, and you prayed to the heavens that he wouldnât notice.
However, the lingering gaze of Riki had caught your attention, and it made you incredibly nervous. The second yours and Noraâs orders were paid for, the two of you quickly went to find a table.
Nora didnât spare a second. âHello, what was that?!â She whispered, hoping the members wouldnât hear her, and you shrugged. âWhy are they suddenly working at a cafĂ©? I thought they were singers!â
Nora shook her head, âTheyâre probably filming for En Oâ Clock.â
ââŠEn-O-What now?â
âOh, God,â Your best friend chuckled, âItâs their variety show that they have. Itâs basically just them playing games or doing random challenges to keep fans entertained while they prepare their next album.â
âOh wow.â You didnât know what to say. You knew being an idol was a handful, but you didnât know that this much work and planning was put into everything they did.â
Nora suddenly tensed, her expression stiffened as her eyes darted behind you, catching you by surprise. âNora, why are youââ
âFancy seeing you here, sweets,â an arm suddenly wraps around your shoulder, the seat next to you being occupied by none other than Nishimura Riki.
âWow, petname basis already, Nishimura? Donât you think youâre moving a bit quick?â You play along with his sudden flirting, a smirk on your lips.
âIâm a man of haste,â he fires back with a wink, catching you, and Nora, by great surprise. You exchanged looks of surprise, amusing the guy beside you. âAnyways, where did you learn my full name? âCause I never told it to you.â
âI think you forget youâre world-famous, Riki.â
âMe? World-famous?â He gasps, a dramatic hand on his heart, âIâm all but a mere barista!â You punch his shoulder playfully, and he laughs in response. âAnd you must be Nora, right?â He turns to Nora, his hand out for her to shake it.
âThatâs me,â she chuckled awkwardly, shaking Rikiâs hand. âNice to meet you, Ni-ki.â
âPlease, weâre friends now! Call me Riki.â
âOh! Well, alright!â Noraâs dry responses were, though a bit painful to watch, extremely funny. You let out a small giggle, covering your mouth with your hand. âI think your food is ready, Iâll be back!â Riki got up from his seat, going over to the counter to pick up your orders.
âSo, sweets?â
âShut up.â
âSince when has he been calling you with petnames?â Any time Nora would hear about you and Riki, sheâd always get super giddy, living her fangirl dreams through your interactions with him. âSince right now!â You whispered, âI had no idea he was this bold!â
âYou better used to it, heâs an insane flirt.â
âOh, lord.â
âWho orders this many croffles for themselves?â Riki suddenly chimed in from behind you, again. âOh, my god!â You flinched at his voice, snapping your neck to look at him. âYou get scared really easily, Miss [Name]. You should get that checked out.â You rolled your eyes as you helped him set the food on the table. âAnyways, Iâm guessing you have a crazy sweet tooth.â
âIs that why you keep calling me sweets?â
âWell, yes. I also just want to,â he smiled, âbut thatâs a big part of it. I mean, come onâ five croffles? Are they that good?â
âAre you kidding? Theyâre delicious, try some!â You took a knife from the table, cutting the croffle into a small piece before picking it up with a fork, passing it to Riki. He took a bite, and his eyes widened.
âRight?â
âPlease invite me the next time you and Nora come here.â
âI thought cafĂ©s were too public?â
âIâd risk it all for these croffles, holy shit!â He quickly sat down, turning to you. âCan I eat one of your croffles?â
âSure, whatever.â Riki smiled, cutting up a croffle from your plate, eating the pieces with the fork youâd given him. âRiki, you kind of took my fork.â He realized that you had been staring at him eat, and he quickly apologized, handing you your fork back and running to grab another one.
âHe gave you his fork?â Nora gasped.
âIt was my fork first.â
âAnd then he ate from it, and now youâre eating from it.â
âNora, please.â Your best friend chuckled, shaking her head as Riki came back. âHowâd you get back so quick?â Nora asked, a quizzical expression on her face. âAs I said, Iâm a man of haste.â
Conversation had flourished as the three of you ate together. Eventually, youâd ended up sharing the majority of your croffles with Riki, and you knew you werenât going to hear the end of it from Nora, kind of similar to how Riki was going to be bombarded with questions by his members after the shoot was over.
Everything felt so natural, so peaceful, Riki had completely forgotten he was filming, and he didnât care at all. There was no place heâd rather be at that moment than here, at the table with you and Nora, hanging out together.
âRiki, we have more customers!â Jay yelled from behind the counter, making the boy look back with a sad expression. âOkay I have to go now,â he sighed. âIâm going to leave my phone here with you guys, open the case!â
âRiki, what?â
âBye!â He sprinted away, catching you and Nora by surprise. You chuckled with her, going over to take the case off his phone. You were met with a small piece of paper inside the case. You quickly unwrapped the note, reading what it said.
010XXXXX, text me ;) â nrk
ps: make a group chat with nora in it, we need to all hang out together again!!!!
âWhat does it say?â Nora walked over to you, looking over your shoulder to read the note. âOh my god, Oh my god!â
You looked back at the counter, immediately meeting gazes with Riki. âIdiot,â you mouthed, to which he replied with a small chuckle. What a guy, Nishimura Riki.

04. A LITTLE WHITE LIE
âYou were so right, Jungwon!â Riki chuckled on the living room couch as Jungwon shook his head with a smile, taking in his younger memberâs endearing acts. âThese past few months have been so fun; I canât believe I barely attended school in the past!â
âSchool is a good experience, believe it or not,â Jungwon shrugged, and Riki nodded in agreement. âSo, tell me more about your little friend group. I know youâve been talking to them nonstop.â
âOh, yes! [Name] and Nora! Theyâre so funny, and they alwaysâŠâ The boy had been ranting without realizing, and Jungwon couldnât help but laugh. It was cute hearing about the time you and him nearly burnt down Noraâs apartment trying to make your own croffles, and the time he had beat you and Nora in an intense round of Dress to Impress during what was supposed to be their movie marathon. He loved hearing all about it.
The truth was: Riki hadnât been as lively lately. Before he started going to college, heâd been gloomier than usual, barely leaving his room and sleeping whenever he got the chance. Jungwon had proposed the idea to Riki so that maybe, just maybe, he would get that boost of energy heâd been needing for so long.
He was happy to see that Riki was having a good time at university, and almost felt indebted to you and Nora for reigniting back that spark of his thatâd been dying out.
âTheyâre good friends, [Name] and Nora?â
âThe best of friends.â Riki smiled, suddenly turning to his phone when it lit up with a notification from the three musketeers group chat. âIs that them?â Jungwon pointed to the phone, and Riki nodded. He watched as he texted with his friends, almost shocked at how immersed he was in the conversation.
âIâll let you be.â Jungwon left Riki in the living room, walking back to his room.

you: i cant waitđ«€đ«€
Riki actually hadnât asked the guys to go to the party, knowing the obvious answer would be no and maybe âAre you crazy?!â But he was determined to attend, he just had to lie a little.
A little white lie never hurt anybody, right?
âHoly fuck, is that Ni-Ki from ENHYPEN?!â
âNo wayâŠâ
âWhatever, letâs drink!â
You had no clue who Jae Huang was, but he threw a mean party. Music blasted through the entire house, all the laughter and screams nearly overpowering the speakers.
âSomething tells me that this house does not have ginger-ale,â Riki gulped.
You nodded nervously. âTell me about it.â
It took about five seconds for Nora to get lost in the swarm of people in the house, her shiny dress immediately disappearing from your line of sight. âOh, God,â you shook your head, and Riki laughed.
âThe one and only Nishimura Riki!â A loud voice suddenly came from behind the two of you, the voice being none other than Jae Huang himself. You and Riki made eye contact for a brief moment, you shrugging before Riki went to greet Jae. âI hear youâre quite the party-thrower around campus,â he chuckled awkwardly, dabbing Jae up. âAh, itâs nothing too big, just a small gathering.â
You mumbled to yourself, âa small gathering?â You shook your head immediately.
âThis is a lively gathering,â Riki nodded, taking in the scene. âWho is this you came with?â Jae looked over to you, and your eyes widened in surprise. At the mention of your name, Riki's eyes lit up, immediately pulling you over to introduce you. "Oh, this is [Name]!" Jae grabbed your hand, kissing it as he introduced himself. âIâm Jae, nice to meet you, [Name].â You were quick to flush at the gesture, cheeks a deep red from the sudden action. âMhm! Nice to meet you!â You failed to notice Rikiâs small frown from beside you.
âMind if I steal Ni-Ki for a moment?â You immediately nodded, letting Jae take Riki, his face quickly forming into a look of panic. He looked to you as Jae started pulling him away.
âNo, I canât!â He mouthed.
âIâm sorry!â You mouthed back, a pang of guilt suddenly hitting you. And it was almost as if it had been waiting for you, because as soon as you turned around, a glass bottle of beer stood in front of you, almost begging to be drunk.
You contemplated for a moment, was it a good decision? After all, you had to babysit, and someone had to be sober enough to call the cab (and it wasnât going to be Nora).
âAh,â you shrugged your shoulders, âOne bottle wonât hurt.â
You should have stuck to babysitting.
âWant a drink?â Jae pushed a red cup of something that smelled so foreign it made Rikiâs face scrunch in disgust. âYou got soda, by chance?â
âI got you,â Jae took a can of sprite from the refrigerator, tossing it to the younger boy. âAh, thanks.â
Riki was uncomfortable. Sitting on a couch with Jae and his friends, watching as they engaged in meaningless conversation. Seriously, what was so fun about knowing each otherâs toe sizes?
The topic suddenly switched into something more serious, and it took everything in Riki not to sprint off that couch.
âYou see that girl?â Jae pointed out one of the girls outside, dancing to the music thatâs playing. âSheâs hot!â Riki felt himself sinking into the couch as Jaeâs friends laughed; this was not his crowd.
âUgh, I need a girlfriend,â One guy said.
âSame, too bad everyoneâs ugly,â Another guy replied.
âHey, what about the girl you came with, Ni-Ki?â Jae turned to the boy, his arm around his shoulder. âWhat was her name, [Name]? Sheâd be fun to play with.â Riki was almost dumbfounded at Jaeâs words, disgusted at his train of thought. Is that all those guys see in women? People to play with? No way.
â[Name] isnât a toy, Jae. Calm yourself.â Riki took the olderâs arm off of him, inching away from him on the couch. It didnât do much, as Jae only came closer. âAre you kidding man?â
âOne night with her, and Iâd be a happy man.â That was it. A crowd suddenly gathered around the two once Rikiâd thrown a nasty punch at Jaeâs face, going at him with everything he had. âDonât fucking talk about her like that!â
It didnât take long before the majority of the house was deserted, everybody bunched together near the entrance, and naturally, you followed the crowd.
âA fight? With who?â
âApparently itâs the singer guy!â
âNi-Ki from ENHYPEN?! Shut up!â If you were drunk before, those words definitely sobered you up. Blood drained from your face as you began pushing through the crowd. You needed to get to Riki, and get him out of that party now.
When you got to the front of the crowd, your eyes widened. Jae and Riki were going at it, and they were both bloody in the face.
âShit, is the famous one winning?â
âI donât know, man. Jaeâs got him good.â
âEh, I think itâs a tie. Jaeâs about to pass out, but dancer dude is perfectly stable.â
âHe shouldâve known not to drink so much before getting into a fight.â
âWho cares? This is crazy!â
You shook your head, running to Riki. âRiki!â you yelled from behind, and he quickly turned around. â[Name]?â Jae took this as the perfect time to take a swing at Rikiâs face, landing a strong punch on his nose. âFuck!â He turned back to Jae, sent one last impact to his cheek, and thankfully, he tapped out, flying to the couch.
âGod damnit! I had my money on him!â
You stomped over to him, grabbing his wrist. âWhat the hell is your issue?!â Riki remained stoic, shaking your hand off. âItâs nothing, letâs go.â
âYou think you can just walk away from this, Ni-Ki?! With that fucking whore?!â
âHey, watch your mouth, asshole!â
âRiki, letâs go!â You had to drag him out the house before he went another round with Jae. You closed the door, leaving just you and him on the front porch. âWhat was that, Riki?! Why would you get into a fight with him?!â
âHeâs a dick, thatâs why!â He hissed. âHe deserved everything that hit him!â
âGod, Riki, do you realize how serious this is?! The publicâs going to find about this, and youâre going to be in huge troubleââ
âI donât care, [Name]! He said some fucked up things, and he got what he deserved, and thatâs it!â
âI doubt it was that serious, Riki. Control your temper, for fuckâs sake!â
Riki laughed, shaking his head. Anger was obvious on his face, steam nearly shooting from his ears. âYou should be glad I punched that asshole! This whole thing started because he thought it would be a good idea to start talking shit about you!â
âWhat?â You stopped, brows suddenly furrowing. â[Name], Jae said some really bad things, and it got me upset.â Normally, youâd hear him out, and apologize for lashing out, but with the current tension in the air, and the gallons of alcohol in your system, the only thing you could do was keep yelling.
âWho asked you to defend me?! I could have handled that myself!â You shouted, running a hand through your hair in frustration. âGive me a break, [Name]! With the way you were looking at him, I guarantee he couldâve sweet-talked himself out of trouble!â Your eyes widened. âWhat do you mean âthe way I looked at himâ?â
âYou looked you wanted to eat his face off the second he kissed your hand!â
âWhat does that have to do with anything? I donât like him like that, Riki!â
âIt sure looks like you do!â He started walking off the porch, and you quickly followed behind him. âWhat is this about, Riki? Seriously, talk to me!â
âNo, [Name]! Iâm done trying to explain myself to you. Itâs not like itâs working out anyway; You keep defending fuckass Jae, anyway!â
Tears were filling your eyes, the intensity of the argument getting to you. âIâm not defending him, Iâm looking out for you!â
âYou arenât! Youâre completely ignoring the fact that I did all of this to protect you, and instead coming at my throat for beating up your precious boy.â He turned to you with a scowl, almost disgusted by your presence. Riki sighed, âHave fun with him, [Name], I give up. Iâm leaving.â He walked away, and you let him.
You quickly called Nora, and left with her in a cab soon after. Your head was pounding with everything going on, and it didnât help that you were insanely tipsy.
Getting to your apartment, you immediately broke down into tears, sliding down your door with your face in your hands.
After tonight, you had no clue what was going to happen. And what you were sure of, was that you were dreading classes tomorrow.
05. SUE ME, HEESEUNG!
âItâs one in the morning, where have you beenâ What the fuck happened to your face?â Jungwon gasped at the sight of Rikiâs face, bruised and bleeding. âI really donât want to talk about it, Iâve had enough for one night.â
âYeah, had enough doing what? Why the hell are you all beat up?!â
âJungwon, please! Give me a break!â Riki suddenly lashed out, the events of earlier leaving him in a hostile position. âI shouldnât have listened to you, I knew this wouldnât work out!â
âHey, no,â Jungwon scowled. âYou donât get to be angry right now. You show up in the middle of the night bleeding from your head with a black eye, and decide to blow up at me? The fuck did I do?! Do you know how much trouble you could be in if anyone saw you like that?!â
Riki held his head in frustration, his anger numbing the pain of all the bruises on his face. âI donât care about what the public sees, Jungwon! I couldnât care less!â He held his index finger up, pointing it in Jungwonâs face. âYou want to know what you did, Jungwon? You convinced me to go to college, to make friends, to fall in love with someone, and I did! I fell in love with an asshole!â
Jungwon gasped. âRikiâŠis it [Name]ââ
âDonât even mention her name near me. Iâm over it.â The boy shook his head, stomping towards his room with a huff. âRiki, we arenât done discussing this!â
âNo, I think we are, because I am!â He slammed the door, making Jungwon inch back at the noise. Even so, he wouldnât give up, because this was how Riki was. He would hide all his feelings, and explode if he was pushed too far.
Normally, Jungwon would let Riki figure it out on his own, but right now, he could tell that he needed to be comforted. He slowly walked to his door, knocking on it.
Rikiâs voice broke. âJungwonââ
âYou donât have to tell me anything, just let me in.â Hesitantly, he opened the door, tears running down his cheeks as he sniffled softly. âI fought for her, literally. I fought for her, Jungwon, and she didnât even care! She just blew up at me, some shit about my image; she didnât even notice!â Jungwon patted the boyâs back as he fell to the floor, his sniffles shifting into loud sobs.
Heâd never seen Riki cry this hard in his life, and it was heartbreaking. âIâm so sorry, Riki.â Jungwon sighed, his chest aching as he watched the boy beside him almost yell out in agony.
Hiatus. Riki had been put on hiatus.
It didnât take long before the news spread all over the internet, and BELIFT was quick to handle the rumors, both confirming them and announcing that Riki would be put on hiatus until he could âcontrol himself.â
Not only that, the poor guy was grounded.
After the rest of his members and his manager had found out about what had happened, theyâd become livid. Not only had he gone to a college party, with alcoholic drinks, without their knowledge, heâd also decided to throw a few punches at the obnoxious host, who could not keep his mouth shut after the incident. After a long discussion with the members (Riki not included), theyâd decided that letting Riki go outside with all these rumors was not a good idea.
And so, he was put on house arrest, grounded, punished. His phone was confiscated, he was suspended from his college campus, so even if he tried to escape, he couldnât go to school and try anything, and his manager managed to take his shoes, all of them, so that he couldnât go outside unless he was willing to walk out barefoot.
It seemed that he had it bad, but little did he know, you had it worse.
â[Name]! Over here!â
âHow did you manage to enchant Nishimura Riki, [Name]?!â
âShe isnât even all that..â
âBro, Ni-Ki couldnât come up to me instead? Iâm literally his type!â
Straight up torture. You had no clue how Riki did it. How he dealt with press and their snoopy selves like it was nothing, like it wasnât so, so fucking annoying. Nora had her arm around your shoulder, guiding you to your classes as you could barely squeeze your way through the formed crowds on campus.
It didnât take long for everybody to know what happened. After all, gossip spread fast at your university, and with an idol added to the mix, best believe people were filled in from the moment that party concluded.
And with gossip comes rumors. Lots of âem.
âI heard that she was two-timing Ni-Ki and Jae Huang!â
âNo way! That little whore!â soft giggles came from the halls as students stared at you with Nora.
âYou think she knows ENHYPEN?â
âOh my god, I actually need Jakeâs number, letâs ask!â
As if youâd been possessed, and Jesus had taken the wheel, you turned on your heel, running out of campus, through the whispering crowds, through the paparazzi, leaving Nora dumbstruck in the halls.
âHuh? [Name]!â By the time she had gone to chase after you, your figure was nowhere to be found, disguised amidst the tons of people outside. âFucking hell.â
Clips of the ambush on you spread like wildfire on the internet, ENGENES scrambling to figure out who it was that âsabotaged their Ni-kiâs image.â You could only sit in your apartment in complete silence, only the sound of your sniffles being heard in the room.
Of all people that this could have happened to, why you? What was it about you that Riki found so interesting that he just had to talk to you?
You thought back to the argument you had with him, your face scrunching up in confusion.
âWhat does that have to do with anything? I donât like him like that, Riki!â
âWell, it sure looks like you do!â
You thought the entire situation was uncalled for, especially this part. Why was he so concerned about whether or not you liked Jae Huang? If he really knew you, he would know that youâve never once showed interest in the guy.
For fuckâs sake, itâd be more believable if you suddenly said you had a crush on Riki!
His name gave you migraines, both of them. You couldnât believe what you had gotten yourself into, what he had got you into.
Never again. Like, ever.
The only entertainment Riki had was the television screen in his room, which, thankfully, had cable on it. Unfortunately, however, he only had two channels: Cinemax, and SBS News.
It was nine oâ clock at night, but he wasnât tired yet. The boy was convinced heâd already seen all the movies on the movie channel at least thrice, and was so bored he decided to turn on the only other channel he had. He switches to the news channel with a sigh.
ââŠOlympian An Se-Young wins gold at the badminton competition, Oh! And breaking news, K-Pop fans have found out the identity of the girl who has seemingly put ENHYPENâs Ni-Ki on an indefinite hiatus, saying that her name is [Full Name]. According to popular belief, she hadâŠâ
The television proceeded to show videos of you being bombarded by paparazzi on campus, calling you names, yelling questions at you, along with the clip of you running home shortly after. Riki couldnât believe what he was hearing, and felt powerless.
Hearing what they called you, seeing your information all over his TV screen, it made him sick to his stomach. And knowing that he was the one who caused this made him feel terrible. He knew that he wasnât able to leave the dorms since his shoes were confiscated, and even if he were to leave, chances are you wouldnât even open your door for him.
He could only bring his knees up to his chin, sighing as he continued to watch. It was painful to see you so distraught; he hadnât seen you like this before. It stung even more when another video played, this time a video of her apartment door, painted with messages that read Stay away from Ni-Ki! and Whore! in bright red marker.
He swore that he would learn to control his temper after the party, but looking at the video, he couldnât stay at the dorms any longer.
Of course, he couldnât go to your place. With everything going on, there was no way in hell you would open the door for him, but he knew someone who might.
Heâd packed a luggage filled with at least a weekâs worth of clothing, and waltzed into Heeseungâs empty room, picking up the first pair of slippers he came across.
âWhat the hell? Where are you going?â Walking out to the living room, he met gazes with said Heeseung, who was boiling ramen for himself.
âIâm leaving.â Riki responded nonchalantly, walking over to the kitchen counter to take a face covering. âUm, no, youâre not. You canât leave.â Heeseung argued, shaking his head.
âWell, I have to go! Sue me, Heeseung!â He grabbed the face covering, and grabbed his luggage, and stormed out the dorm, making sure to take the stairs so the other members wouldnât catch him in the elevator.
He walked for a good hour and a half, paying no mind to the weird stares he got by civilians. After long, he arrived to the apartment building, ringing up a random apartment with the excuse that he had a delivery so that heâd be let in.
He stopped at the door, a small sigh leaving his lips. What if she didnât let him in? What would he tell the guys? Where would he stay then?
He shook his head, hesitating before knocking on the door. Surprisingly, it didnât take long before the door opened, revealing a stunned Nora in front of him.
âWhat the fuck?â
06. RIKI AND NORAâS GRAND SCHEME
âNora, hi..â Riki chuckled nervously, gulping at Noraâs stern expression. âNo,â her hand went to close the door, but Riki quickly stopped the door before it could go completely shut. âNora, please,â he begged, âI have nowhere to go.â
âYou canât go home? You know, where you actually live?â
âThe thing is.. I ran away.â
ââŠThen go back?â
âI was grounded.â
Silence filled the hall for a good two seconds before Nora burst out into laughter. âAt your big age! You got grounded! This is so funny!â She slapped her knee, and Riki could only roll his eyes. âWell, now you understand my situation, so can I please crash here for a couple of days?â
Her hand went to her chin, rubbing it as if she were pondering. âOn one condition.â
âWhat?â
âYou tell me what really happened between you and [Name].â Riki tensed at the mention of your name, and Nora was quick to notice. âJesus.â
âShe hasnât told you?â Riki questioned, and she shook her head. âAll I know is that you punched someone, I donât know why, though. She also hasnât told me why you two are disagreeing right now.â
âItâs a long story,â Riki looks a her with a small sigh, âI can tell you if I come in.â Nora rolls her eyes, âFine, but you will leave no details out.â
ââŠOh my.â She was rendered speechless, her only reaction being a small gasp. âSo, you like her? Like, like-like her?â
Riki nodded. âYes, I like-like her.â He was still coming to terms with the fact that heâd fallen for you.
He had realized during the movie marathon a few weeks back that heâd felt something for you, but only let himself accept it after the party.
FLASHBACK â A FEW WEEKS AGOâŠ
âOh my god, that outfit is horrendous, Riki!â You and Nora broke out into tears, the giggles leaving your mouth making Riki sulk. The three of you had been playing a random dress-up game you found online, and what you noticed was that, despite Rikiâs impeccable fashion sense in real life, he did not know how to style himself in games.
âOh, come on, guys! Itâs not even that bad!â Riki whined, still pressing buttons to get his character to pose on the runway. âAre you kidding?â Nora started, âThe full fur combo? Rookie mistake!â
âHey, Iâm a PRADA ambassador! Itâs abstract!â Not even his brand deals could save him from yours and Noraâs teasing, as you continue to laugh out loud because of his outfit. âI quit!â He put his phone down on your couch, kicking his feet. âWe should be watching movies right now, not bullying me!â
You shook your head, endeared by the boy in front of you. âOkay fine, you big baby.â You ran your hand through his hair, ruffling it with a laugh, and Riki found himself awestruck by you.
Was it the way you laughed, or how safe he felt under your touch, or how pretty you looked with your Snorlax onesie and your hair tied? He wasnât sure, but he felt a warm feeling spread throughout his chest, and up his neck, heating up the entire area.
He suddenly leaned into your touch, moving his head to your shoulder as he grabbed the remote, âI vote for The Bee Movie!â
âNo!â You and Nora shouted in unison, and he could only laugh.
TIME SKIP â PRESENT TIMEâŠ
âLord, I hated that movie,â Nora shook her head at Rikiâs taste in films, and, like always, he laughed again. âYou donât get it like I do!â
âAnyways..â He started again, his tone going serious, âthe real reason why I came here was to ask you for help. With [Name].â Nora tilted her head, puzzled, and Riki continued.
âI saw everything that was happening to her on the news, and I was so worried. I felt terrible for causing her so much trouble, but I couldnât apologize since I didnât have my phone.â
âThey really grounded you, huh?â
âIâm being serious, Nora!â Nora nodded with a small chuckle, signaling for him to continue. âSo I was thinking that youâd help me apologize to her⊠in person.â Noraâs expression stiffened, in deep thought.
âI donât know, Riki..â She sighed. âShe wonât even fully open up to meâ no offense, but if she wonât talk to me, thereâs no way sheâll talk to you.â
Rikiâs head hung low, his prior optimism slowly deteriorating. âI wish I could help you, Ki, Iâm serious. I just donât know if I can.â
He sat quietly for a moment, before speaking again. âDo you really think Iâm that much of a lost cause?â
âShe was really hurt that night, Riki. Sheâs still hurting, maybe worse than before.â Nora turned to him, a sudden glint of determination in her eyes. âI canât say for sure if sheâll forgive you, but Iâm willing to try for you.â Rikiâs eyes lit up, and she smiled.
âYouâve become such an important person in her life; I truly havenât seen her so upbeat until she met you, and I never want her to lose that momentum she has right now, so if youâre the one who can bring her back, then Iâll try my best to get you to her.â
Riki was beaming, immediately pulling Nora into a tight hug. âThank you, thank you, thank you!â His smile was uncontainable, you could practically hear that grin when he spoke.
âOkay, Rikiâ Youâre choking me. Riki!â
The plan was simple: Nora would ask you to hang out, and hopefully, youâd say yes, but instead of meeting up with her, Riki would show up in her place and save their friendship.
It was so easy, yet Riki still managed to screw it up. How?

Five in the afternoon was slowly approaching, and Riki made sure to get there before you, leaving the house at roughly 4:30 to beat you there.
Unfortunately for him, heâd made it at the same time as you, but you hadnât seen him yet, even though heâd seen you.
You looked tired, your eyes bloodshot red, your feet practically dragging along the concrete as you walked, it was heartbreaking.
As if it couldnât get worse, youâd been bumped into by a group of guys on the same sidewalk as you. Just as you were about to enter the beach, you were stopped by three guys, both of them oddly familiar. Then, you recognized them as Jae Huangâs friends, the same Jae Huang whoâdâ
âWell, if it isnât Korea Universityâs top whore!â One of the guys laughed, the rest following along. âWait until Jae hears about thisâ God, you look terrible!â You looked down, trying to walk past them, but one of them quickly pushed you back, causing you to stumbled backwards.
âCâmon, babe,â one of the guys started, âyou donât want to hang with us? Donât be like that.â You nearly gagged, the sight of the three guys making you sick. Why did this have to happen to you?
âPlease, can I just goââ
âYouâre so annoying!â Another guy grabbed you by the wrist, yanking you away from the beach as you tried your hardest to wriggle your hand out of his grip. That wasâ until you were set free.
âThatâs enough, you three.â You turned, shocked at the familiar voice. âRiki?â
âAw, look! Itâs prince charming coming to save you once again!â the three guys laughed, but Riki remained still. âLet her go,â he demanded, but they didnât budge, keeping you in their grip.
âNot so fast, buddy. Sheâs ours.â
âIn what world? Utopia?â Riki chuckled bitterly, shaking his head. âThat Jae Huang really doesnât learn,â he walked up to the guy holding your wrist, and harshly pulled his hand away, catching him by surprise. âWhat the fuââ
âNow, I want you to send Jae a small message for me, can you do that?â He had the man held by the collar, frightening the other two. Theyâd been there to see Jaeâs ass get beat by Riki, so they knew not to get physical with him.
âYou tell Huang to stay the fuck away from [Name], or Iâll make sure he never shows his face again.â He let go of the guyâs collar, and the three ran off, scared shitless.
He was quick to turn to you, eyes widening when he noticed you walking away from him. â[Name]! Wait up, please!â He gently placed his hand on your shoulders, stopping you in your tracks. âPlease, just let me explain everything.â
âWhereâs Nora?!â
âWhat? Sheâs at the house!â
ââThe house?â What, are you two roommates or something?â
âWhat? No! Only for a little while until Iâm ungroundedâ Thatâs not the point, [Name]!â He sighed, the nerves nearly eating him alive. âIâm about to say a lot, so make sure youâre listening.â
âWhaââ
âIâm sorry, [Name]. Really fucking sorry.â He sighed. âWhen I was at the party, Jae had said some weird stuff about you, and it pissed me off, and I punched him. I didnât know that the situation would escalate, and I really should have thought about how this would hurt you before I did anything. Now youâre being assaulted in public, being ridiculed for no reason online, and itâs all my fault. [Name], I feel terrible.â
âRikiââ
âNo, [Name], let me finish.â You stopped so he could continue. âIâd understand if you still didnât want to talk to me, but I just want you to know that youâre so important to me, and despite everything thatâs happened, these past few months have been the best months in my life, all thanks to you. I truly do care for you, and I hate to see you hurting, so please, keep your head up, if not for me, then for Nora. Donât let the public get to youâ they like to break you down until you canât get up, but I know you, and I know that youâre strong, and youâre better than all of them. I know youâll be able to bounce back,â he chuckled, âyou always do. Just never lose that pretty smile of yours, hmm?â
When he was met with silence, he nodded softly, turning on his heel to walk away when suddenly, you grabbed his wrist, engulfing him into the embrace heâd missed so much. He immediately wrapped his arms around you.
âRiki, I-Iâm so sorry,â you sniffled, sobs getting louder the longer you stayed in Rikiâs embrace. âYou have nothing to apologize for, you could never hurt me.â He smiled, and you felt yourself mesmerized by the light in his grin. You nodded, slowly pulling away.
He held his hand out in front of you. âSo, do you still want to go to the beach? Itâs still light out.â You grabbed his hand, replying, âIâd love that.â
And the two of you walked down to the beach.
âYou know, if my members find me, they might never let me outside again.â
âYouâre an idiot, Nishimura.â
âOnly for you, Sweets.â
07. BEST PART â FINALE.
âNora, Iâm out of clothes!â Riki paced around the living room, pointing to his luggage that now carried nothing but perfume and accessories. âI think that means that you need to go home now, Riki,â she replied, a small chuckle leaving her lips at his distress.
âYou love seeing me suffer, donât you?â
âIt brightens my day.â
âUgh!â Riki groans, running his hands through his hair. âHow am I supposed to go home?! Iâm going to get my ass beat!â Nora sighs, shaking her head. âRiki, you just need to go there and give them a damn-good apology! You obviously canât stay here much longer.â
âAre you sure you donât have any oversized clothes in your closet for me?â
âYouâve left me with no choice.â
âShe kicked me out, [Name]! Like actually, kicked me out with her foot!â You laughed from the other side of the phone line, dumbfounded. âNow why would she do that?â Your tone was teasing, but Riki didnât pick it up because of how badly he was panicking. âI donât know! She wants me to go home, even though Iâm going to get grounded again! Can you believe it?!â
âOkay, Riki, donât freak outâŠâ You spoke cautiously, ââŠbut you know how you made me share my location with you?â
âYesâŠitâs a safety precaution, why?â
âI donât think you know this, but when I shared my location with you, it also shares your location with me.â
âOkayâŠwhatâs wrong with that?â
âWell, I may have shared your exact location to your manager, and he may or may not be coming to pick you up right now, please donât kill me!â
âWHAT?!â Oh my god, I see his car!â You can hear panting over the phone, and can only assume that Riki is currently trying to outrun his managerâs van. âHeâs right there, oh my gosh! This is it! My last words: âI died a warrior!ââ
âNi-Ki, get in the car!â The last things you heard before the line got cut off were the sounds of Rikiâs frantic shouts, along with the honking of his managerâs car. âIdiot,â You laughed to yourself, knowing full well that he was going to be just fine.
âYouâre lucky youâre you, or else youâd be dead right now,â Riki pouted, shoving another croffle in his mouth, âWow, these croffles are good!â
âAre you sure nobody saw you get the food from the cafĂ© earlier? And nobody saw you come into my building? Youâre still on hiatus, so I donât know if youâre even allowed outside right now.â You spoke worriedly, but Riki was quick to shake his head. âFirst off, I posted a lengthy apology note on Weverse, and the ENGENES seem to be receiving it well, so I think Iâm good! Also, I made sure to be very stealthy walking into the cafĂ©.â
âSo, about three ENGENES walked up to you?â
âClose, but two ENGENES.â You burst into laughter, wiping the tears from your eyes as you held your stomach. Somehow, Riki always knew how to make you laugh.
Matter of fact, he always knew how to make you happy, Riki made you happy. He watched you in admiration.
âOkay, movie time!â Riki announced, running to the couch to choose the movie. âWeâre watching The Bee Movie again, by the way.â
âNo more of The Bee Movie, please!â
âBut, donât you like jazz?â
âRiki!â
Eventually, the two of you had settled on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, a rom-com classic, and were nearly finished the film. You had snuggled onto Rikiâs chest (he pulled you there), and you didnât object. You werenât one for physical touch, yet you felt safe when you were near Riki.
âHow do the actors not fall for each other?â You spoke your thoughts aloud, and Riki only hummed. âIâm not sure,â he replied. âMaybe they just arenât made for each other.â
âBut look at what Matthew McConaughey says about his experience on set with Kate Hudson! They seem so closeâ how did they not fall in love with each other?â
Riki shrugged, pulling you closer. âMaybe he didnât feel that spark you feel when youâre in love. You knowâ when your heart beats out of your chest whenever youâre near someone, when you find yourself wanting to spend time with them all the time, wanting to spend the rest of your life with them, when you miss them the moment they leave you, and when your hands get all sweaty and clammy whenever youâre next to them. Maybe Matthew McConaughey just didnât feel that with Kate Hudson.â
âWow, Riki,â you chuckled. âYouâre like, a love expert. Whoâs the lucky girl?â He smiled, this was it, this was when he was going to say it.
âNone other than the girl in my arms right now.â Your eyes widened, heat spreading from your chest to your cheeks. You sit up right away. âMe?!â
âYeah, you,â Riki grinned from ear to ear, and you felt yourself slowly melting away. âWhen I first started thinking about attending university, I had my doubts, but when I met you, they all disappeared into thin air. Youâre undeniably charming, and that spark I was talking aboutâ I feel all of it when Iâm with you, because I love you, [Name]. A lot.â
âRiki, I-â Your voice breaks, sobs threatening to escape after Rikiâs confession. âI love you, too. A lot.â He chuckled, wiping your tears with his thumb. His expression softened, and slowly, he leaned in, âMay I?â
When you nod, he connects your lips in a gentle kiss, cupping your face while you feel him smile against your mouth. The two of you pull away, and your cheeks are nearly about to burst with how wide your smile is.
âWill you be my girlfriend, [Name]?â
âYes, I will, Riki.â He cheers and brings you back to his chest, leaning the two of you back on the couch. You laugh softly. âNow I feel like weâre in a movie, a rom-com of our own,â you start, watching the credits of the movie you had on roll.
âYeah?â
âYeah.â Riki wishes he would stop smiling so much, but he truly canât help it, he just loves you so much.
âIt feels surreal, doesnât it? The fact that weâre dating?â You nod in response, âif our life were a movie, I think this would be the best part.â
Riki shakes his head. âIf our life were a movie, youâd be the best part.â
You giggle. âAlways the biggest flirt, Nishimura.â
âYou know you love it, Sweets.â
âYeah, maybe I do.â
THE END.

The smell of burnt tires permeated the cold night air, mixing with the metallic scent of petrol. The headlights of the illuminated cars created light games that made the road look like a movie scene. You were standing next to your best friend, hands crossed on your chest in your padded leather jacket, You were grumpy since your best friend in the car had told you that for that night you would not go to Karaoke and eat fried chicken but to see Jayâs bff running and you had a skeptical look on cars in line.
"I donât know why I came," you muttered, watching Jay waving animatedly with a group of guys near a black Nissan Skyline. "The underground races? Seriously? This is the height of your genius?" you told your best friend.
Your best friend laughed, settling down next to Jay. 'Come on, relax! Itâs just a different evening, try to have some fun!, youâre here with Jay and me, nothing will happen to you, and in less than two hours youâll be in your warm bed thinking about the adrenaline that youâve experienced, trust me for once, Y/n'
"Having fun? Getting into trouble? Great idea. If someone from the press studio finds out my scholarship will disappear instantly, Iâll ask for financial damages to your boyfriend full of money." You shook your head, adjusting your hair behind an ear for the nervous. You were about to make more biting jokes when a soft, vaguely amusing voice interrupted his thoughts.
«You donât seem like the type of place. Who did you take Jay to see an illegal race? The little mouse in the library?»
You snatched him up, and you saw him Jungwon. His eyes were sharp as razor blades, his smile bold and just curved his lips. He wore a leather jacket that reflected the lights of the headlights and leaned with ease to a shiny black car, probably his own a car that looked fast even when it was stationary.
You were caught off guard by her presence for a moment. "I am not," you replied, crossing your arms. "And apparently, you donât seem like the type to... break the law either."
Jungwon laughed, a low and slightly dangerous sound. «Itâs up to someone to add a little adrenaline to these monotonous lives, otherwise you know how boring life would be without a bit of a kick.» He pulled away from the car and approached you slowly, with the catâs step of who knows exactly what effect it has. «And then, it is not so bad, right? Look at this crowd, the energy. Arenât you a little curious to feel your blood pumping much stronger inside you especially your body to make you feel the sensation of adrenaline, of the anxiety and fear of being discovered in such a place where surely good girls like you should not be?»
"Not enough to put my life on the line for a four-wheeled ego race or to risk my money on a guy whoâs gonna be even smaller than me," you said, clenching your lips.
Your words, however, did not shake him at all. He seemed to enjoy himself even more. He leaned slightly towards you, his eyes as bright as those of a cat having fun with its prey. «Interesting,» he said quietly. «Usually people either fear me or admire me. You, on the other hand... Youâre a beautiful mystery, who would have thought that the good girl had such a sharp temper.»
You raised an eyebrow, determined not to be intimidated. "Maybe because Iâm not interested in impressing a guy who thinks heâs a hero just 'cause he can drive fast'."
Jungwon stepped back, raising his hands in surrender, but the smile never left his face. «TouchĂ©. But donât underestimate the speed. Itâs a feeling that changes you and makes you feel alive. Maybe you should try it at least once.»
"It will never happen," you replied
«Never say» he muttered with a small smile before a voice called his name in the distance. He turned, gazing at the crowd, then looked back at you. «Hold on to your skepticism, 'good girl'. Who knows, maybe one day youâll change your mind.»
And with that phrase and a smile full of arrogance, Jungwon walked away, leaving you with a mixture of irritation and something more difficult to define. Something that made you feel a shiver down your back, even if you didnât want to admit it.
"God, itâs unbearable," you mumbled between your teeth as your best friend burst out laughing next to you.
'Unbearable, of course,' said your friend, giving you an elbow. 'But admit it, he has left you speechless. Both because he knows his stuff but also because he is crazy hot with that bad boy aura but at the same time with those cat eyes that look at you attentively as if you were his next prey'
Youâre sunburned, your cheeks are starting to pinch. "Donât even joke about it."
But in your stomach, a spark had been lit, and you werenât sure that you could put it out so easily.
The roar of the engines was ringing in the air, covering up any conversation. You watched with wide eyes the cars lined up next to each other, ready to snatch like wild beasts. The headlights lit up the asphalt, and for a moment everything seemed to be still, as if night held its breath.
Jay was standing next to you, his arm resting protectively on your shoulders and his girlfriendâs. <<Relax,>> he said, a reassuring smile on his lips. <<Itâs all under control. No one will touch you.>>
"Iâm not worried about myself," you mumbled, even though it wasnât entirely true. You felt like a fish out of water, but there was something in the atmosphere, the electric energy of the crowd, the roar of cars, the tension before the shot that made your heart beat a little faster. Maybe it was fear, or maybe... excitement...that was the feeling Jungwon described earlier?
The deafening music that had flooded the road until a few minutes earlier suddenly ceased, leaving only room for the roar of the engines. All eyes were on the racers. Cameras and phones stood up, ready to capture the start of the race. Jungwon was in the front row, his face calm and focused as he held the wheel.
You couldnât take your eyes off him. There was something hypnotic about him: that arrogant ease, the confidence in his movements. It was as if the adrenaline ran through his veins instead of blood. He didnât even seem nervous.
<< So, what do you think? > asked Jay, lowering his voice so that only you could hear him.
"What?" you replied, trying to mask the disturbance.
<<About him. Jungwon. Heâs good, isnât he? >
You shrugged your shoulders, trying to look indifferent. "I donât know yet. He has to prove it."
Jay laughed, shaking his head. <<Youâll see.>>
The air vibrated when the start signal blinked. The cars sprinted forward with a deafening roar, the tires leaving black tracks on the asphalt. You held your breath as you watched Jungwon take the lead immediately, zigzagging through the corners with impressive precision.
The track was an urban course, full of tight curves and straight lines that tested the skills of each driver. Jungwon steered with almost inhuman ease, cutting corners to the millimeter without ever losing speed.
<< Look how he enters the curve,>> said Jay enthusiastically. << No one drives like him. He is not afraid of anything.>>
You watched him, fascinated, the other cars tried to keep up with him, but nobody could keep up. It was as if the machine were an extension of his body, and he knew exactly how to push it to its limits without ever losing control.
After two laps, it was clear that he would win. No matter how much others tried to get over him, Jungwon was always one step ahead, calculating every move with surgical precision. When he crossed the finish line first, the crowd burst into a roar of exultation.
Jay clapped loudly, pulling you and his girlfriend into a hug. <<I told you!>> he exclaimed, laughing.
You were very quick. "Heâs good, I admit. But heâs too young for all this. Itâs ridiculous to think he could be so good, he just turned 20."
«Itâs not ridiculous,» said a voice behind you.
You turned and there he was, Jungwon, still with his helmet in hand and the arrogant smile that lit up his face. He looked triumphant, but in his eyes, there was a challenge.
«Iâm twenty, not ten», he continued, leaning nonchalantly against a parked car. «And it doesnât matter how old you are when youâre the best.»
You crossed your arms and smiled shamelessly. "The best? In your head, maybe. People talk, you know? Not everyone is so convinced of your abilities."
Jungwon laughed a low and funny sound. «Let them talk. The numbers donât lie, i'm in the top 5 of the state racers. And trust me, it wasnât easy to get there.»
"If you say so," you replied, trying to ignore the shiver that had passed through your back as you looked into his eyes.
«You must not believe me,» he said, taking a step closer. «But sooner or later you will understand. Speed is not just about money or perfect cars, itâs about the heart.»
The evening seemed almost quiet. You were sitting on an old wooden stool, holding in your hands a mojito that was melting too fast. Your best friend, laughing next to you as Jay strutted in the distance, probably telling someone how good Jungwon was.
'Itâs not so bad, isnât it?' said your bf, giving you a slight push on the shoulder.
"It still doesnât convince me," you replied, sipping your drink. "Too much confusion, too many people... Not my world."
Your bf laughed. 'I know, but sometimes you have to try new things. Maybe thereâs something here that...'
The girlâs words were interrupted by a sudden and deafening noise. Screams, immediately followed by the unmistakable sound of police sirens. The crowd exploded into a chaos of excited voices, bodies pushing and shoes pounding on the asphalt.
You got stuck, your heart was pounding. "Whatâs going on?"
'The cops, theyâre here!' shouted someone, and the crowd began to scatter in all directions.
You looked around, lost, looking for your bff with your eyes, but before you could understand what to do you felt a strong hand holding your arm. You turned around and found Jungwon staring at you with a serious, almost impatient expression.
«You,» he said, bowing without waiting for an answer. «Come with me.»
"What-? Wait! No!" you tried to protest, but he didnât give you the time. He dragged you through the crowd with fierce determination, dodging people and fallen bottles, to his car parked near the main road.
Jungwon opened the passenger door and almost pushed it in. «Get in.»
"I donât even think so!"
The sirens came even closer, and you had no choice. You sat in the seat with your heart in your throat, slamming the door just as he was getting into the driverâs seat and turning on the engine.
«Itâs written on your face that youâve never been to such meetings,» he said as he set off. «Too scared to move.»
You stared at him. "Iâm not scared!"
«Oh, you are,» he replied, and before you could fight back he put the gas on. The machine slammed forward at a speed that took your breath away. You clung to the seat, white knuckles, as the landscape began to flow at an impossible speed. The sirens were still behind you, but they got farther and farther away.
"Youâre going too fast!" you shouted, trying to make yourself heard above the roar of the engine.
Jungwon did not answer, his face focused while he was dodging other cars and taking sharp turns without ever slowing down. His calm was frightening.
"I said slow down!" He turned his head slightly towards you, a funny smile that curved his lips. «What is it, speed scares you? I thought you were more brave.»
That was the drop of water. Without thinking, you raised your hand and slapped him on the arm. "Slow down!"
Jungwon laughed, the sound was low and incredibly calm for the situation. «It doesnât work like that, princess. With the police on your tail, you run or lose.»
You stared at him, furious and terrified at the same time. "Youâre out of your mind!"
«Maybe» he replied, giving the pedal a further push. The car accelerated even more, and you felt your heart go up in your throat.
«Tell me where you live,» said Jungwon, suddenly serious.
You exhibited, still tight to the seat. "Why?"
«Because if you donât tell me, I donât know where to leave you. Unless you want to stay with me all night.»
Your cheeks burned. "Youâre an idiot."
«I take it as a compliment.»
With an exasperated sigh, you gave him the address. He nodded, turned the wheel with impeccable accuracy, and put a side road in.
The speed was only slightly slower, but not fast enough to feel the ground under your feet.
When it finally arrived in front of your palace, your heart was still beating like a drum.
He stopped the car, putting an arm on the steering wheel as he looked at you. «All together, see? It wasnât so bad.»
You struck him with your eyes, but you did not answer. You opened the door and came down, almost stumbling as your legs trembled.
«Good night, princess», said Jungwon with a smile as he looked at you.
"Good night a horn," you mumbled, slamming the door. But as you ran home, you couldnât ignore the fact that, despite everything, a part of you had felt that adrenaline... and you almost liked it.
The atmosphere at the university was unbearable. Every conversation seemed to revolve around Jungwon: the young prodigy, the boy who had rushed like lightning in the last run and left everyone speechless.
You sighed every time you heard his name. It was everywhere. In the boys' talks, in the girls' whispers. Even the professors seemed to mention with a veiled interest "that young pilot of whom everyone is talking".
But to you, Jungwon was just an arrogant boy with a passion for risk and a smile that irritated you more than it was allowed. Yet, there was something you couldnât get out of your head: the night of the escape. The speed, the shiver, the way you felt alive... and vulnerable. It was a feeling you hated and, in part, wanted to forget.
One afternoon, as you were desperately trying to ignore the avalanche of messages in the groups on Jungwon, your bff approached your desk with a complicit smile and a colorful poster in hand.
'Look here,' she said, waving the paper before you.
You looked up from the book. "What is it?"
'One race,' he replied enthusiastically. 'But not a big one. Itâs a training for the top 5, a private event. Only a few can attend.'
"So why show it to me?" you asked, raising an eyebrow.
'Cause I want to go there,' she replied with a smirk. 'And I thought you could come along. You know, as my partner in crime.'
"Not even in my dreams," you cut short, back to the book.
'Really?' sat down next to you, lowering his voice in a provocative tone. 'Are you sure? Maybe you can take the opportunity to thank that guy who saved you last night.'
You were blocked. Those words hit a nerve. You promised to thank him, despite everything. After that night you didnât see each other anymore, and not that you cared particularly... or maybe yes?
"Iâm thinking about it," you murmured at the end, leaving your satisfied bff in her place.
Two days later, you were exactly where you swore you would never be: a private track just outside the city, surrounded by a select few spectators. There was no crowd or chaos, only the roar of cars preparing to go down the track.
Despite initial reluctance, you could not deny that the atmosphere was fascinating. The shiny asphalt in the sun, the smell of burnt rubber, and the electricity in the air. It was all so... different.
You settled next to your best friend, who chatted animately with Jay. But your eyes were immediately caught by a figure in the distance: Jungwon.
He was there, with his pilotâs suit half open on the chest, helmet under his arm, and that cheeky smile printed on his face. He was laughing with a group of girls who seemed to be hanging on his lips.
You were staring at him, unable to look away. It was impossible to deny: he was beautiful. Perhaps too beautiful. His cat eyes shone with a light that seemed magnetic, and the dark and slightly ruffled hair fell perfectly on his face as if they had been designed for him.
And that suit... God.
"Oh, no," you muttered, looking away. You couldnât, you didnât have to admit it was nice. He wasnât. He wasnât even your type.
'Are you all right?' she asked, giving yourself a curious look.
"Yes," you answered, clenching your fists. "Itâs all right."
But as Jungwon put on his helmet with a fluid gesture and approached his car, you noticed that your heart was beating faster. And it wasnât the noise of the engines.
Coming fourth wasnât exactly the result he wanted, especially considering he had raced against Heeseung and Sunghoon, two legends in the underground races. He had given everything, but against them, it was like fighting a storm.
As he stepped out of the car and took off his helmet, his gaze wandered through the small crowd of selected spectators. He looked for Jay, knowing that he would be somewhere with his girlfriend.
When he found it, however, Jungwon was stuck for a moment. Next to Jay was she: the good girl.
She was still, her arms crossed and the expression swaying between embarrassment and a strange determination. Although the light of sunset played with his features, giving his figure an almost ethereal aura, it was evident that he was not at ease in that environment.
Jungwon approached, his disappointment for fourth place temporarily forgotten. Curiosity shone in his feline eyes. «Wow, who sees again,» he said, a sneering smile that curled his lips.
You looked at him with your usual exasperated expression, but with a slight blush that colored your cheeks. "Hi, Jungwon."
«I didnât think these places were your kind» he continued, slightly bowing his head. «Have you decided to add a little adrenaline to your monotonous life?»
Roll your eyes, ignoring the provocation. "Iâm not here to have fun."
«Oh, then why are you here?»
Take a deep breath, determined to say what you had to. "Iâm here to thank you."
Jungwon stared at you, surprised. «Thank me? For what?»
"For having me... Saved, if you may say so, the other night," I replied, looking down for a moment before raising it to meet his eyes.
For a moment he laughed, shaking his head slightly.
«Saved, eh?» she said, approaching by a step. «I would say that I have only given you a moving passage.»
"Call it what you will," you replied, trying to keep your cool. "But still... thank you."
Jungwon stopped laughing and stared at you, his eyes twinkling like something that looked like a challenge.
«And what do you think I want in return?» he asked, his voice low and almost hypnotic.
You looked at him, confused. "In return?"
He leaned slightly towards you, his face so close that you felt the warmth of his breath on your skin. Then, with a whisper that made your blood freeze in the veins, he said: «A kiss.»
Your eyes widened. "Youâre kidding, right?"
Jungwon straightened, smiling with the same arrogance as ever. «I never joke, princess.»
You stared at him for a long moment, trying to figure out if he was serious or not. Finally, he crossed his arms and raised his chin in defiance. "Then you will be left without thanks."
He laughed as if his answer amused him even more. «We will see» and walked away with a sure pace, leaving you there with your heart still beating wildly.
It was a quiet evening, of those you preferred. Your best friend had gone out with Jay, and for once the apartment seemed to be in a pleasant silence. You were sitting on the couch with a cup of hot tea and a book, finally free to enjoy some peace.
But that peace broke suddenly when the intercom rang, making you jump. You were not expecting anyone. You did a little bit of showing, but then you went and checked the screen.
Your breath was blocked. On the monitor was Jungwon, hands in his pockets and that relaxed expression that seemed to say "Iâm always in the right place at the right time."
"Whatâs he doing here?" you murmured, nervously tightening the oversized pajamas you wore. He put his hand on your mouth, trying to collect your thoughts.
Despite everything, you opened.
Jungwonâs steps rang up the stairs, and before you could get ready, he was standing at the door, tall, confident, and with a slight smile on his face.
«Hello, princess,» he said, leaning on the door frame.
You looked at him, confused and with a mixture of irritation and nervousness. "What are you doing here?"
He did not answer. He entered without being invited, taking off his shoes naturally as if he were at home.
"what.." you stopped when you saw him walking around the apartment, observing everything with curiosity.
«Nice place,» said Jungwon, passing a hand on the kitchen cabinet and then taking a look at the sofa. He moved with the grace of a cat, calmly exploring every corner.
"You canât come in like that," you protested.
«Why not? » he answered, turning to look at you. «Iâm doing nothing wrong.»
You crossed your arms, trying to keep calm. "You still avoided the main question: what are you doing here?"
Jungwon came a few steps closer, reducing the distance between you. His gaze was piercing, and the sneering smile had never left his face. «I have come to take my thanks.»
The heart missed a stroke. "What?"
«I told you, didnât I? I donât leave anything halfway.» He leaned slightly toward you. «And I donât accept excuses.»
You roast, feeling completely overwhelmed by his presence. You tried to appeal to your rational side, but couldnât find the right words. "I... I donât understand why youâre doing this. I owe you nothing."
Jungwon tilted his head as if he was weighing up his words. Then he laughed softly, a low, warm sound that made her shiver. «Youâre always so sweet, arenât you? And scared.»
"I am not afraid," you protested.
«Oh, yes you are,» he replied, getting even closer. His eyes shone with malice, but there was something else too, something deeper that you could not decipher.
I stepped back, but you found yourself with your back against the kitchen table. You were trapped, and Jungwon seemed to know it.
«So?» he asked you, with a smile that seemed like a challenge. «What about my thanks?»
You looked down, your face was red. "I donât know what you want from me..."
Jungwon laughed again, this time more softly. He raised his hand and pulled a lock of hair from your face. His touch was light, but enough to hold your breath.
«All right,» he said, in a strangely gentle tone. "Perhaps Iâll let you choose how you want to thank me. But remember, princess, I never forget.»
With those words, he finally left and returned to snooping.
Jungwon was still looking around, moving like a curious cat, when his gaze fell on the couch. Without thinking too much, he dropped with a soft thud, stretching as if he were the master of the house. «Nice and comfortable here," he commented nonchalantly.
You were staring at him with your arms crossed, trying to keep a serious tone. "I didnât invite you to get comfortable, you know."
He ignored you as his eyes were set on a book left on the pillow next to him. With disarming speed, he grabbed it.
«Letâs see what our princess reads,» he said, flipping through the pages.
"No! Give it back!" you exclaimed, approaching quickly.
But it was too late. Jungwon read aloud one of the most sappy passages in the book, imitating an overly sweet voice. "And he stared at her intensely, unable to resist the temptation to kiss her..."
You suddenly blush, embarrassed. "Stop it, give me back now!"
Jungwon burst out laughing.
«I never thought you were a fan of romantic novels. Arenât you the one with the study books?»
You came to grab the book, but he pushed it away, holding it high above his head. "Jungwon, I told you to give it back!"
In an attempt to catch him, you swerved, falling on him on the couch. Both of you ended up lying down, you on top of him, the forgotten book on the ground.
For a moment everything seemed to stop. You looked up and met his feline eyes, so close that he could see every detail of their depth.
With a slow gesture, he raised his hand and stroked your cheek, the thumb that touched your skin with disarming delicacy. «Soft,» he murmured, almost in silence, as if he was making an incredible discovery.
Your heart was beating fast, and your face turned even more red. "J-Jungwon..."
He slightly tilted his head, his gaze curious and fascinated. Then, with a speed that caught you by surprise, he made you a slight tickle on your hips, making you burst into an involuntary laugh.
"Hey!" you protested in laughter, trying to move, but Jungwon kept teasing you with that funny smile.
«I like your laugh», he said, stopping at last. His voice was warm and low, and for a moment the atmosphere among you changed.
Before you could say anything, Jungwon leaned slightly towards you, his feline movements controlled. Then, with a confidence that seemed to leave no room for doubt, he laid his lips on yours.
The kiss was soft, but firm. There was no hurry, just a gesture full of respect and curiosity. You felt his big hands leaning around your back to hold you closer to him and with a sigh you let his tongue enter your mouth; It was the best kiss you had ever had and Jungwon looked so good at everything he did and you felt the heat of the contact immediately that broke down all resistance.
When you left, Jungwon smiled at you, his eyes shining with something you still couldnât define. «Now I can consider myself thanked,» he muttered, the mischievous tone but strangely sweet.
Jungwon looked at you with a smile that mixed mischievousness and tenderness. «You know, I must admit,» he said in that witty tone that you now knew well, «youâre quite good at kissing, princess.»
You opened your eyes wide, the redness immediately rising to your cheeks. "Jungwon!" you protested, lightly hitting him on the shoulder.
He laughed, the low and relaxed sound that always seemed to make fun of you, but in a surprisingly affectionate way. Before he could fight back, he wrapped an arm around your waist and gently pulled you to himself, causing your head to rest on his neck.
«Then relax,» he muttered, as he slowly stroked your back.
Part of you couldnât help but wonder: How can I feel safe with him? Jungwon was everything that represented chaos, risk, and defying the rules. Yet there, in his arms, was a calm you could not explain.
«Do you feel safe?» he asked you as if he had read your mind.
You did not answer immediately, clenching your fingers against the fabric of his shirt. At the end, you whisper, with a thread of voice: "It makes no sense, but yes."
Jungwon smiled, and his warm breath tickled your hair. «Maybe because Iâm less dangerous than you think.»
Before you could answer, Jungwon moved slightly, breaking contact. He stood up, stretching with a grace that seemed almost feline. «But now I must go.»
You looked at him, still sitting on the sofa. "Doing... illegal things?" you asked, your voice a little jokey but also a bit serious.
He laughed softly, shaking his head. «In a way yes. I have to do something very illegal for the human being, imposed from above.»
You stared at him, confused. "What?"
«Study», he replied with a sly smile.
You blinked, incredulous. "Study?"
Jungwon nodded, putting his hands in his pockets. «Right. You donât seem convinced.»
"Iâm not," you admitted. "You... study? Really?"
«Of course. I study law.»
His words left you breathless. "Law?" you repeated, incredulous. "You? The boy who runs illegally and seems to ignore every rule... Do you study law?"
Jungwon laughed again, amused by his reaction. «I know, I know. It seems a contradiction, doesnât it? But what can I do? I have a passion for rules. Only I prefer to decide when and how to follow them.»
You stared at him, trying to process that new information. "You are... a living contradiction."
«Interesting,» he smiled maliciously at you. Then, he slightly bowed his head. «And you are adorable when you are confused. See you, princess.»
And with those words, he left, leaving you sitting on the sofa staring at the door. And you thought that Jungwon was a riddle that you didnât know how to solve yet.
After days of life seemed back to normal, you were immersed in your journalism studies, trying to forget the chaos that Jungwon had brought into your life. You were focused, determined to keep your head on her future, away from distractions.
But when your colleague at the university newspaper asked you to write a piece about clandestine racing, you suddenly found yourself back in the center of that world from which you had tried to get away.
'Are you sure you want to do it?' asked the colleague. 'It doesnât seem like your environment.'
You raised your chin, determined. "I can do it. Iâll go with my best friend, no problem."
And so, that Saturday night, you found yourself again immersed in the racket noise. The pre-race was a chaotic party: deafening music, neon lights that illuminated the improvised track, people laughing and drinking everywhere. Your best friend, she seemed perfectly comfortable, but you don't.
Despite everything, you took your notebook and you started working. You had to do a detailed report, so you started to observe the machines and transcribe nicknames, technical notes, and the general atmosphere.
"The Panther" had a black and shiny livery, and "The Eagle" a silver car that seemed to slip in the air. Each pilot had a nickname, an identity that made them bigger than life.
But when your gaze was set on a machine unmistakable, your heart stopped. It was there, in all its glory: the hood painted with shiny stripes that reminded of claw scratches, and the name he had already heard whispered by Jay: The Wildcat.
Next to the car was him. Jungwon.
Your heart sped up when you saw it. Lying nonchalantly beside the car, he wore a dark leather jacket left unlaced, revealing a tight-fitting T-shirt that highlighted his dry physique. The messy hair looked even softer in the neon light, and the cat eyes shone with a mix of challenge and fun. He was not alone. Three, maybe four girls were standing near him, laughing and flirting openly. One of them had put a hand on his arm, and he didnât seem at all annoyed.
The pen you held in your hand stopped. You felt a wave of conflicting emotions: annoyance, jealousy, irritation, and that bit of insecurity that you could never get away from when it came to confronting other girls.
'Are you all right?' asked your bff, noticing your sudden silence.
"Yes," lying, looking down, and pretending to take notes in your notebook.
Jungwon seemed perfectly in his element. Every movement and every smile seemed to be designed to attract attention, and it worked perfectly. Everyone was watching him, and he knew it.
When one of the girls came closer to him, laughing and putting a hand on his chest, you felt yourself burning inside. You turned, pressing the notebook against your chest. It shouldnât have mattered. It didnât.
But then, as if he had felt your gaze even amid the chaos, Jungwon looked up and saw you.
His smile stopped for a moment. The feline eyes were fixed on you, curious and perhaps surprised.
You held your breath, unable to look away.
Then, Jungwonâs smile returned, slower and deeper. She pulled away from the car and stepped over to you, the girls who were quietly protesting about the sudden lack of attention.
You were juggling between the machines, trying to ignore the knot of emotion that had formed in his stomach after seeing Jungwon. You kept taking notes in his notebook, writing down details about the race, the drivers, the nicknames... but your heart could not calm down.
You were focused on describing a car with a fiery red livery when suddenly you heard a hand grab your notebook. You slammed your eyes and you saw it.
Jungwon was there, a few steps away from you, with that cat-like look in his eyes that seemed to be light inside. His eyes shone with mischief and amusement, and his lips curled in a sneering smile. «Hey, princess,» he said goodbye, holding the notebook carelessly in her hand. «I missed something or are you trying to write a book about us?»
"Give it back, Jungwon. Iâm working."
He slightly tilted his head, studying it. «Working, eh? You didnât find a minute to come and say hello? All the other girls did it.» His voice was a mixture of provocation and challenge.
Youâre sticking your jaw, trying to keep calm. "I didnât come here to make friends, Jungwon. I have other things to do."
Your words made him smile. He leaned slightly towards you, your eyes straight in his. «Let me guess... Are you jealous?»
You blinked, surprised by her question. Then you sat down, raising your chin with determination. "Not. Why should I be jealous?"
Jungwon stared at you for a moment, his smile widening as if he were having a great time. «I donât know, but usually the girls who look at me like that have something to say.»
You get stiff, feeling your face getting warmer and warmer. "I wasnât looking at you in any way. I have other things to think about."
He laughed softly, a sound that seemed to wrap her like a caress. «Sure, princess. As you wish.»
You ripped the notebook out of his hands. "Stop calling me that. And let me do my job."
Jungwon pulled back, raising his hands in surrender, but his smile did not fade. «All right, all right. But donât take it too hard. You know where to find me if you change your mind.»
And with a last look that seemed to promise trouble, he turned around and returned to his car.
The race was a whirlwind of emotions. You were with Jay and your bff, watching the chaos of cars sprinting under the spotlight. The engines were roaring, and the adrenaline felt palpable in the air. Jungwon was third, fighting ferociously to reach the podium and win that prize which meant more than just money.
You couldnât deny that she was nervous. Every tight turn, every overtake, every calculated risk made her hold her breath. The gaze was instinctively set on Jungwonâs car, recognizable by its aggressive stripes and proudly painted number.
But then it happened.
The Panther made an illegal move. A sharp cut to the trajectory, too close to be a simple mistake. Jungwonâs car skidded, losing control, and went off the track with an impact that made the silence in the air resound. No one laughed, no one spoke.
"Damn it!" cursed Jay, sprinting into the pit area to see what had happened to Jungwon. You looked for Jungwon, but he was as if disappeared, swallowed up by the darkness of the track. The crowd around you had already started to celebrate, shouting for Heeseung, Sunghoon, and the Pantherâs victory as the spotlight turned on the winners.
You were lost. You couldnât think of anything but the car that was off the track and the guy driving it. Where was Jungwon? Was he all right?
"Hey," a deep voice brought you back to reality.
You turned around and saw a boy coming towards you. It was the pilot of the Panther, the one who caused the accident.
"What is a pretty girl doing here with a notebook in her hand?" he asked, looking at you with interest.
"Iâm working," you replied coldly, holding the notebook to my chest. "Iâm a journalist, I have to write about the race."
He laughed, a sound that had nothing genuine. "A journalist, eh? Well, maybe you could write a piece about me. You know, Iâm the star of the night."
You stared at it, the obvious annoyance on your face. "I donât think Iâll write about who plays dirty to win."
The boyâs smile cracked slightly, but before he could answer, a movement behind him caught both of their attention.
«I donât think he wants to write about you,» said a familiar, low, and tense voice.
Jungwon was there. Hair sprawled, a small wound on the eyebrow that bled slightly, and an expression that promised trouble.
The Pantherâs pilot smiled, raising his hands in surrender. "Oh, there it is. I thought you were still licking your off-piste wounds."
He didnât have time to finish the sentence. Jungwon advanced with a lightning move and punched him straight in the face. The boy staggered back, a hand to his nose.
«If you want to win, do it playing clean» growled Jungwon, his voice low but full of anger.
Stood still, my heart beating like a bat. You had never seen Jungwon so full of fury and determination.
He turned to you, his feline eyes staring at you with an intensity that made you hold your breath.
«Is everything okay?» he asked you, his voice suddenly quieter.
You are slow and unable to formulate a response. He watched you for a moment longer, then turned to the pilot of the Panther, who was still recovering.
«Never come near her again,» said Jungwon, his voice dangerously low. And with those words, he took your hand and led you away from the crowd, leaving chaos behind.
You found yourself catapulted into the car of Jungwon, almost without realizing how it happened. He was furious, his face tense and his cat eyes shone with a disturbing intensity. His hands held the steering wheel tightly, and the silence in the car was broken only by the soft hum of the engine.
You look around nervously, trying to figure out where you are going. You did not dare to speak, but you could not ignore the charged energy that was breathed into the air.
In the end, Jungwon stopped in a poorly lit parking lot, away from the chaos of the race and the festivities. He turned off the engine but said nothing for a moment. He ran his hand through his hair, visibly irritated, and then turned to you, approaching dangerously.
«What the hell were you thinking, Y/n?» he growled, his voice low but full of anger.
You stared at him, confused and slightly intimidated. "I... was working. I just asked questions and took notes for the piece I have to write."
Jungwon came even closer, his eyes peering at you. «Working? With that ridiculous little skirt and the top that leaves everything in sight? Where is the good girl I kissed the other day?»
You looked at him, surprised and irritated by her reaction. "Sorry?! Whatâs the matter, Jungwon? Itâs not your concern what Iâm wearing. And, for your information, Iâm still the same person, even if I donât dress like a nun to come to these stupid races!"
He raised an eyebrow, the sneer smile returning to his face. «Ah, so now you like to be a rebel? Interesting.»
"Itâs not about rebellion!" you broke off with your arms crossed. "And stop judging me. Itâs you who runs illegally, not me."
For a moment, Jungwon stared at you in silence, then his smile went out, and his gaze became more serious. «I donât want you to get into trouble. Not with people like that, and certainly not in a place like this."
You were silent, struck by the sincerity in her voice, but you didnât want to give it up. "Iâm not a child, Jungwon. I can take care of myself."
Now your faces were a few inches apart. «You donât understand, do you? Itâs not just about looking after yourself. I canât stand the idea that someone else could even look at you like that guy did.»
You suddenly felt confused and vulnerable under his intense gaze. "Jungwon..."
But he didnât give you the time. With a strong gesture, he took you by the face and kissed you, his lips pressing against yours with overwhelming confidence, but not without sweetness. It was a kiss that spoke of unresolved emotions, confusion, and desire.
You stood still for a moment, but then you let go, returning the kiss. You didnât know what that meant, but at the time, in his arms, you felt inexplicably safe, even though Jungwon represented everything he had to avoid.
The anger, tension, and that strange, irresistible attraction that Jungwon seemed to be kindling in you all exploded at once. You grabbed him by the collar of the shirt and pulled him towards you, kissing him again with more passion, as if you wanted to make him understand once and for all how confused she was, but also how lost you were for him.
Your hands trembled as they sat on Jungwonâs sculpted chest. You felt the muscles twitch under your fingers as if he was struggling to keep control. The heat emanating seemed to burn her skin, but she did not want to stop.
Between one kiss and the next, he pulled away slightly, his lips still dangerously close to hers. «Wait,» he muttered, with a smile that seemed to hide a thousand secrets. «Move slightly from the seat.»
You looked at him, confused, as he moved swiftly into the passenger seat. She pointed with a sure nod to his lap. «Sit here.»
You stared at him with wide eyes, heart pounding in your chest. "Jungwon, weâre in public..."
He chuckled, the sound low and incredibly charming. «Nobody is watching us. And even if they did... who cares? Trust me.»
After a moment of hesitation, you moved in embarrassment, and you sat on his legs. Your arms instinctively clenched around Jungwonâs neck, as he laid his hands on his hips, holding you firmly against him.
«See?» he whispered, in a tone that had a disarmingly sweet sweetness. «There is nothing to be afraid of.»
He, on the other hand, seemed comfortable, but there was something in his eyes that betrayed a darker depth. His fingers began to trace little circles on your hips, and his smile became more intense.
«Youâre so beautiful,» he said, his tone suddenly serious, as he stared at you as if you were the only thing that mattered to him in the world. «You donât realize what youâre doing to me, do you?»
You shook your head slightly, unable to find the words.
He tilted his head, his gaze becoming darker but at the same time incredibly sweet.
«I donât want anyone to look at you the way I do. Is that a problem?»
"Jungwon..." you mumbled, but he didnât give her time to continue.
He drew his lips to your ear like a kitten huddled in its den, sank his face against his neck, inhaled your scent, squeezed you tighter, and began kissing you and making little pacifiers.
«You are so sensitive,» he murmured, as he heard how you tried to deny the moans of pleasure. «I love to see how you react to me, I bet no one has made you feel like this in your life, princess.»
This time she touched the edge of your lace panties slightly.
"Jungwon.... not here," You said as you felt his big fingers sear your panties.
Your words seemed to light something in Jungwon. His smile grew wider and more dangerous, and a bad boyâs flash lit up his face. «Oh, princess» he whispered, tilting his head slightly as his hands slid into her life. «I want everything of you... but Iâm not sure I can wait.»
Before you could answer, his fingers moved with an exasperating slowness under your skirt, and he began to draw light circles as you felt that slowly you were already excited for him. You held your breath, feeling the heat that spread throughout your body.
Jungwon, amused by your reaction, drew little circles with his fingers, stroking the slightly moist fabric. «So wet»
You whispered in a tone that mixed sweetness and provocation. «Is this all for me?»
You nodded weakly with your face becoming increasingly red.
He came near your ear again, letting his warm breath caress her skin. «I would like to take everything of you now, but not in this car. Not like that. You deserve more.»
Despite his words, he did not stop at all. He started touching your pussy but a grin formed on his face and looked as if there was someone outside and with a strong movement touched the lever that was under the seat and lowered it. «Lie down Y/n, I will make you feel good while I kneel.» Jungwon laid you down in the seat and began to slide his hands on one of your legs, lifting it to leave a kiss trail up to your thigh, Stopping occasionally to admire your soft skin that was illuminated by the moon and the intense look you were throwing at him. «I promise you that I will make you feel so good, you canât be touched by any boy from today»
He moved his head under the skirt took the piece of your panties between his teeth and slowly pulled it down, moaning audibly as he watched a series of excitement drip from your heart. His cock was already pulsing in his pants but today he just wanted to make you feel good, there would be other opportunities that he would be well.
You looked at him a lot embarrassed but also extremely excited when you saw him with your panties in your mouth and pulled his hair and carried him back down into your pussy.
"Jungwon, Iâm... you can lick it pls» Jungwon started laughing and tricked his tongue on your inner thigh, capturing your excitement on his tongue. «Fuck, baby, youâre so good. Let me eat your pretty pussy» You slightly widened your thighs and moaned instantly when he licked and licked, without even thinking about it, before reaching his hand behind you with his arms stretched out to pull you closer, guiding your hips down with force "Jungwon," you panicked. Your brain got a little confused as it pushed your thighs away, then lifted them up and away so that you could bury your face deeper between them. «Look at you, youâre getting your pussy licked in the middle of nowhere by the only guy you find irritating»
Jungwon took a second to smile at you, stroking your slimy thigh with his cheek, and pressing a small lingering kiss on your warm skin. His tongue was hot and wet against your pussy, practically melting against your folds, making long and deliberate passes up to your clitoris before you concentrate on it and suck it with a fervor that sent waves of pleasure.
Unable to hold your voice, you began to emit gasping and stuttering moans, unintentionally lifting yourself into his mouth as he licked and sucked your clitoris, feeling your cheeks burning more and more long he looked into your eyes.
"I am... oh my God, please" greedily caress your clitoris pulsing in quick and deliberate circles with the thumb, automatically bringing two fingers to your pussy, your greedy hole sucked them up to your knuckles, without hesitating to push them in and out of you. Once your legs hooked to her waist, she quickened and pumped the rhythm of her fingers, your moisture now so palpable that it was beginning to leak out of you.
«Come princess, only for the wildcat» you exhaled, licking your lips and savoring the remains of yourself on your tongue, Striking him in a way that made you fight the urge to let your eyes roll down to the bottom of your skull and come between his fingers and with a gesture he took her to his mouth and sucked her as if it were the best thing in this world.
Yes, he got up slightly and felt his cock and balls extremely tight and hard in the pants but it was worth it, he had just made the "good girl" come off the university and knew that she would think for not how long to this episode of him bowing to her to suck their pussy.
You had spent a few nights writing your piece, trying to maintain a balance between your natural contempt for the illegality and that subtle attraction for the adrenaline-fuelled world that you had discovered recently. In the end, you delivered your article to the local newspaper, knowing that it would create a sensation, especially among the pilots.
You described the atmosphere in vivid words, talking about the roar of engines, the smoke from tires on the asphalt, and people who seemed to live only for those moments.
Extract from the article:
"There is something irresistibly hypnotic about seeing those riders challenge everything and everyone, putting their lives on the edge of a razor for a ride of glory. But despite the obvious danger and illegality, I can not deny that I also felt the heartbeat accelerate, the shiver of every curve taken to the limit. Itâs a world that makes you want more, even when you know you shouldnât."
You also mentioned the most famous pilots, dedicating a part of his article to the young and mysterious Wildcat:
"Among the many, one stands out for his early talent and rebellious attitude: Wildcat. At just 20, he has shown a mastery of the steering wheel that defies logic. But itâs not just his ability that makes him interesting: there is an energy in him, an aura that makes him unmatched. Despite his age, he drives like he was born to do it, and thereâs a dangerous confidence in his feline eyes that makes you wonder what lies behind that provocative smile. Who knows if, behind the bad boy mask, there is something more... is a bad boy as everyone says or is different with the people he loves?"
Jungwon, sitting on the couch at home, had read the article carefully. The newspaper folded on his knees, his eyes shone with a strange combination of annoyance and amusement.
'So he thinks Iâm hiding something, eh?' he murmured to himself, "And it describes that adrenaline so well... Maybe sheâs not so different from me after all.'
Then he stopped to read another part:
"It is clear that risk is an integral part of this world, but perhaps this is what makes it so irresistible. Once you enter, itâs hard to get out of it, especially when you meet people who seem made for living without rules. And although I do not share this lifestyle, I cannot deny that there is something fascinating about observing those who are not afraid to challenge any limit."
Jungwon laughed slowly, was it perhaps a hint of what happened in the car between the gold two the other day?
'Good girl, eh?' mumbled. 'Youâre so convinced that you donât want to be part of this world, but underneath I know you like it. And Iâm the only one who can take you beyond that limit, Y/n
He decided that he could not let go of the matter. He had to see her, tease her personally, and above all make her understand that no one could talk about him in that way without suffering the consequences.
You had just come out of the shower and heard the bell ring. Your best friend was not in, and you were not expecting anyone. And on the screen of the video intercom was: Jungwon, with the folded newspaper in his hand and that dangerous smile you now recognized too well.
You opened the door, trying to keep calm. "What are you doing here?" You asked, crossing my arms.
Jungwon didnât answer immediately, just entering with a disarming security. «So you wrote an article about the bad boys of the city Y/n? Pleased with the comments you received?» He said in a low, sharp voice, waving the newspaper before you.
"Itâs just my job," you replied, trying to keep a professional tone.
Jungwon chuckled and slowly approached, leaning slightly towards you until your faces were a few inches away. «No one speaks of me in this way. Not even you.»
You instinctively backed away, but he followed you, the paper still in his hand, his eyes shining with an intensity that made her tremble. «Wildcat, eh? Feline eyes, dangerous smile... tell me, were you writing or fantasizing about me? what is it you missed already my touch?»
"Donât get your head in the sand, Jungwon. I just brought the truth."
«Truth?» he repeated with a grin, getting even closer. «And what is the truth? That you like this world? That you like what I make you feel?»
You felt trapped, and your heart was beating too fast. "I... I donât..."
Before you could finish the sentence, Jungwon dropped the newspaper on the counter and took you by the side, lifting you up easily and making you sit on the kitchen island. He stood between your legs, his eyes fixed on his.
«Spare me the apology,» you whispered, his voice full of desire and a touch of possession. «I know exactly what youâre trying to hide. Itâs in your eyes every time you look at me.»
You tried to talk, but before you could say a word, Jungwon leaned over and kissed you with an overwhelming passion. His hands seized your hips with force, pulling you even closer as if he wanted to erase all distance.
The kiss was different from the previous ones: there was not only passion but also a kind of affirmation. He wanted you to know that you were his, that no one else could get close to you like he did. «Never again write about me in that way,» he whispered against her lips, her voice low and hoarse. «I donât want anyone else to know how good I am at making you feel this way. This is just for us.»
Jungwon caressed your face sweetly, a striking contrast to his possessive grip on your hips.
You felt his fingers trace the skin of your hips under your shirt until it reached the breast that was completely uncovered because you had just washed, His fingers were slightly cold to contact your breast and Bud tickled you and made you slightly arch your back. «You are already so sensitive to me and i touched you only with a finger what will happen when you fuck princess?» Jungwon took off your shirt and started kissing you and tickling your breasts, your poor nipples were turgid and with one hand he held you still and with the other, he massaged you alternating to tighten your left breast. He sucked you as if he was obsessed with your breast but had other things for the head that he wanted to do, you wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him and he with one hand ran through your leg from the knee to the inside of the thigh, making you lose breath, a smug smile took shape on his lips as he tilted his head watching your reaction as his fingers approached your core, the tips traced him around your pajamas shorts and groans at the touch of his fingers around your core still dressed.
"Jungwon...I need" Your hand moved to touch his cock through the pants of the suit, making him moan, pulled down your pajama shorts, and when he saw that you already had your panties slightly wet a grin set up on his face, «God, already so fucking wet for me» and you kept massaging his cock, and I also took him off in his pants and made him spread a little 'the stain of the pre-ejaculate in his boxer shorts.
He took you in his arms as you kissed and kissed, and brought you to your room and laid you gently by the edge of your bed, you were perfect for him, It was months that he dreamed of fucking you and having you all to himself and finally came the time to see that the good girl who everyone loved at university was not so much a good girl when she was with him. He quickly removed your panties and his fingers finally touched your clitoris, winding around the bundle of nerves, throwing it every time you moved your hips trying to get more friction; «look at you, you are already so eager to have my fingers around you, where has the good girl gone?» You groaned and tried to move easily but Jungwon as usual was teasing you.
"Jungwon, stop being like that. We both know that underneath you were pleased with that article" Jungwon looked at you with serious eyes and without saying anything two fingers entered your already sensitive core, making you shudder.
âFuck, oh yeah!" Jungwon started pumping your fingers slowly though and you moved so much that you accidentally touched his cock in his boxer shorts with one hand he held you tight and with the other, he touched you but Jungwon had other plans with you.
«The other day in the car I made you come, now itâs your turn to show me what you can do, I really want to see if the good girls can be good with dicks» You looked at Jungwon slightly embarrassed and opened your mouth to the surprise of his words.
Choking a groan as his fingers curled inside you again. Your hands moved quickly to lower his boxer shorts, releasing his huge cock, making you open wide eyes but your mouth was even more flooding with desire for him.
Your hand quickly distributed the pre-seminal liquid, and your thumb gently moved it while you watched his reaction, smiling at seeing that you were making him enjoy only with his cock in hand, whimpering as he added a third finger, By widening even more. Your pussy was already sore and super sensitive by the overstimulation of his fingers and you kept on teasing their cock and sucking it "Jugwon, please" the guy in front of you laughed slowly and he also mooed something incomprehensible
and said: «What do you want, use that beautiful mouth you love to tease people to tell me what my princess wants» moaning loudly when he pumped all three fingers around your pussy it was beautiful but you wanted more.
"I want...I want you, pls" When he heard those words he let out his fingers and spread your legs and your pussy was super shiny, stimulated, and ready to take his dick. His tip only went in a little to drive you crazy, but there was not much you could do while he held your legs apart and on the edge of the bed. Your hands went into his hair, pulling it slightly as you watched Jungwonâs cock disappear inside your pussy, slowly driving you crazy.
It didnât matter if you begged him he would take it his way, he quickly pulled out all his cock before you could even get used to it if he was back in full again, and repeated it a couple more times before his hand that had been on his member before, It would move on your clitoris making circular movements as it kept burying itself deep inside you and pulling everything out. Moaning, invaded your room and you pulled him even closer to you with the other hand he stroked your cheek and put his thumb in your mouth, and sucked it slightly
«good girl» Nodded while you felt his cock now in your stomach clothing you and it was a wonderful feeling to see Jungwon so lost of you and inside you.
«Look at you, I want you to look at me and groan my name as I hear you hold me with that sweet little pussy of yours, yes?» You nodded and groaned as it hit the exact point of your G-spot and felt the overstimulation of his thumb touching your now swollen clitoris.
«Come for me, come around me, be a good girl, and come all over my dick.»
"Jungwon, please...oh fuck!"
Your high quickly found you while he kept jumping inside of you looking for his release, and you felt his seed and his cum inside you gushing out of your pussy after a while he got rid of his cock around you and gave you little kisses in your neck and made you lie down in the bed and put on his shirt and went straight to get wet clothes to take off everything, the sticky sperm from your legs and after a little while he lay down next to you and hugged you and cuddled to you placing his head in your neck and leave you small kisses and light caresses.
«I hope it didnât hurt, princess. I... I never felt these things for a girl and you» didnât end up gently putting your lips on hers and he smiled at you.
"I have never had these feelings for anyone but Jungwon, i don't want this thing to be just for funâŠâ
Jungwon hugged you and held you close to him
«No, you have not for months now mine and you have not even realized it. This thing is not only for fun for me, I want to make it work because when I win I need my journalist of trust who describes me as his Wildcat!» You laughed and it was extremely true that you and Jungwon could not be so different but at the same time, you were complementary.

The loud music in the house made Jungwon's eardrums tremble, the number of people increasing by the minute seemed to be slightly suffocating and the drink in his glass was already running low. Jungwon didn't have the habit of going to many parties, he was a little more reserved and liked to be that way. However, he made a few exceptions when Jay invited him saying that it would be legendary.
This time was no different, another party at Jake's house that Jay insisted would be legendary and Jungwon should go to meet more people. Not that Jungwon didn't have many friends, but Jay was way more sociable than him, so he always had someone new to introduce.
As he watched Ni-ki do a funny dance in the middle of the living room, he sat down on the couch that was miraculously free and picked up his phone. He had barely been there for an hour and was already wondering if he should have come.
âI canât believe youâre already on your phone.â Jungwon looked at Jay, who was in front of him with a look of disbelief. âIâm enjoying the party,â Jungwon replied, âadmiring Ni-kiâs beautiful moves.â His tone was laced with sarcasm.
âMan, you need to socialize more like actually talking to people.â Jay sat down next to him sighing âIâve already met a lot of people thanks to you, thank you very much.â Jungwon saw how the room seemed even more crowded than it had been a few minutes ago.
âYouâre impossible,â Jay shook his head negatively, âbut at least try to enjoy the food and drinks, Jake chose the best ones.â Jungwon nodded and looked at his own glass, seeing that he would need to refill it soon. âOkay.â He had already passed his final exams so he would try to enjoy this night without thinking too much about studying.
âI'm going to get another drink, do you want one too?â Jay stood up asking uncertainly and Jungwon shook his head, clutching his red cup âI'll finish this one first.â He raised the cup, and Jay gave a side smile âOkay, bro. I'll be right back.â
Jungwon leaned his back against the back of the sofa and turned his gaze to the dance floor that had formed in the center of the room. While trying not to laugh at Jake and Ni-ki having the most hilarious dance battle in the world, his attention was diverted when he felt someone sit down next to him, a sweet scent exuding along with a loud laugh.
He turned around and saw you. Your hair was loose, with a glass in your hand and a â he squinted in the dark lighting and saw a â lollipop â in the other hand. The dark red leather jacket was extremely tight around your waist, contrasting with your black jeans.
âWow, these guys are hilarious, right?â You commented as if you knew him while Jungwon was still staring at you âYeah.â He replied automatically and you looked back at him, making him feel embarrassed.
Your eyes scanned his clothes, a perfectly plain dark blue sweatshirt over a white long-sleeved shirt, a thin gray necklace contrasting with his perfectly parted hair. His face was in perfect condition, practically sober. You bit your lower lip trying to contain a smile as you realized that he was clearly one goody two-shoes guy who must have been forced to be there by some friend.
âAnd why are you sitting here?â You asked curiously, moving closer and Jungwon moved back a little, surprised at how straightforward you were. âIâm enjoying the party.â He replied, looking away and you smiled a little, seeing his reactions.
âEnjoying the party while sitting down?â You raised your eyebrows. Your question made Jungwon run his hand through his hair lightly and give you a closed lip smile âYeah, something like that.â You couldnât help but laugh as you realized how right you were about your assumptions. He really was one goody two-shoes guy.
A very cute goody two-shoes.
Your curiosity grew when you realized that he couldn't hold your gaze for long. Ideas began to appear in your mind in a catabolic way while Jungwon remained looking at his cell phone, and then at the track, trying to distract himself.
âMaybe you should try dancing too.â Jungwon looked at you again, giving you a sarcastic smirk and you couldnât help but notice his small dimple forming. âI canât dance.â He replied, staring at you as you sucked on the lollipop. âNeither can I, but these are things we do for fun.â He saw your hands searching for something in your pants pockets. âItâs like eating candy while drinking, I know it probably cuts the effect of alcohol, but itâs cool at a party.â Jungwon saw you pull a lollipop out of your pocket and offer it to him. âFor you, try it.â
'This girl is weird' was the first thing he thought before taking the candy as you stared at him shamelessly. He felt aware of your gaze and felt his cheeks suddenly heat up.
He wasn't used to interacting with many girls, especially girls who were strangely direct like you.
âDonât put it away, you have to try it now.â Jungwon was almost putting the candy away when you came closer and held his forearm, making him nervous. He was already in the corner of the couch so he couldnât move away any further. âO-Okay .â He quickly replied, opening the candy, trying not to look at you.
'Why does she stay so close?' he thought before putting the lollipop in his mouth and you pulled away slightly and clapped your hands slowly, satisfied with Jungwon's reactions. "So? Isn't it good?" You asked and he just nodded without saying a word.
âYouâre kind of shy, arenât you?â Jungwon noticed how you leaned back against the couch, your arm resting on the backrest as your temples brushed against the fingers of your hand. âWhatâs your name?â
Jungwon had a small internal debate as to why you seemed so interested in talking to him, but decided to introduce yourself anyway. âJungwon, whatâs yours?â He asked and you gave him an excited smile. âJungwon... thatâs a cool name.â You said, lost in thought. âYou can create many nicknames. Jungwonie, Jungie, Won...â
With each version of his name being said, Jungwon was sure that you were clearly different from anyone he had ever met. A little crazy, but interesting at the same time. âAH! Wonie too!â Your gaze met his âWell, Jungwon, my name is y/n.â You finally introduced yourself âNice to meet you, letâs get along well.â You took a sip of your drink, raising the glass like a greeting, making him think that the alcohol was probably cooperating with your actions.
âSure.â He replied, thinking that your name seemed relatively ordinary compared to your over-the-top personality.
Your little interaction being interrupted by Jay who arrived and gave you both an excited smile âOh? y/n? I see you finally met my friend Jungwon.â
Jungwon sighed. Of course you know Jay, now everything made sense.
âHey Jay, itâs been a while.â You saluted Jay and looked at Jungwon. âYeah, Jungwon is a really nice guy.â Jay noticed how you were looking at Jungwon curiously. âIf I knew he was this cute, I would have met him sooner.â
Jungwon swore he felt his whole body stiffen. Did you just call him cute? The tips of Jungwon's ears turned red and you couldn't help but enjoy teasing the boy.
He completely fascinated you.
âOh?â Jay gave a smirk âItâs because he doesnât go out that much.â Jay walked towards the couch and you stood up at the same time âI figured.â Jungwon watched you walk âWell boys, now I have to go, but it was great seeing you again Jay,â You turned to Jungwon with a mischievous smile âAnd it was wonderful meeting you, Jungwonie.â You teased him and he looked away, scratching the back of his neck and nodding.
âSee ya.â You gave one last smile and disappeared into the crowd.
Jay looked at Jungwon, laughing at the interaction he just witnessed, and sat down next to him. âI see I interrupted something.â Jay gave a teasing smile, nudging him with his shoulder and Jungwon sighed running his hand over his face âMan, I need another drink.â
Jungwon was relieved to think that he didn't have to worry about seeing you again as this would probably be the only and craziest interaction he would have with you.
That's what he thought.
The week had already started again and Jungwon had arrived early for class as usual. He methodically placed the materials on the table, checking if he had forgotten anything and smiled with satisfaction to see that everything was okay. He opened the laptop, turning it on as the teacher arrived in the room preparing the class material.
Jungwon was extremely responsible with his academic life, always being punctual and completing his assignments on time. He felt good about getting good grades at university and achieving all the goals he set for the future.
For Jungwon, there was nothing better than predictability and discipline in life.
As the teacher taught the class, Jungwon typed up notes on the topic, completely focused on the subject. Before he could write down the last topic spoken, his attention was snatched by your arrival, sitting next to him panting as if you had run a marathon.
âAm I late?â You asked in a whisper and his eyes widened in shock, staring at you in complete disbelief.
ây/n??? What are you doing here?â He asked, completely flabbergasted by the sight of you putting your backpack on your feet and a notebook on the table. The fact that you approached him to the point of sitting next to him as if you were great acquaintances was simply shocking to Jungwon.
You looked at him smiling, getting closer to him. âWhat do you mean, silly?â Jungwonâs stomach turned at your voice so close to his ear. âWeâre on the same major.â
If he already thought you were crazy before, now, he was sure.
Jungwon didn't usually memorize the faces of everyone he had classes with, but he doesn't remember seeing you in any class before. How was it possible that you had the same classes, and your presence had gone unnoticed? You were like a hurricane that arrived and caught everyone's attention.
âIâve never seen you in this class before.â He answers quietly, turning his attention back to the teacherâs explanation. âThatâs because I sit in the back, Jungwonie.â You replied, poking his cheek with your index finger, making him give you a deadly look that amused you.
Teasing Jungwon has officially become one of your favorite hobbies.
ây/n, I need to focus on this class.â He said seriously and you smiled sideways âSorry, Iâll let you study.â You straightened up and decided to write in your notebook while Jungwon sighed, running his fingers over his eyebrow .
'Is this a dream?' He wondered internally as he gave you quick, surreptitious glances at how you wrote things in such a messy pattern that it made him want to correct everything into an organized bulleted summary.
No margins, paragraphs or spaces. You simply wrote the way it came to your mind.
âYou know Jungwon, you get super hot when you get serious like this.â Jungwon looked at you shocked again by your words taking away all the little focus he had. His ears and cheeks were clearly red. A heat rising up his neck.
âHas anyone ever told you that youâre kind crazy?â He whispered back with a disbelieving look that amused you deeply. âYep, Iâve heard it many times, Iâm aware of it.â
Your smile intrigued him. How could someone act like that after just one interaction at a party? He sighed and turned away, trying to ignore your presence, even though he knew it would be impossible.
âThis subject is important, it will be on the next tests.â He commented one last time trying to make you focus on the teacher and not on his profile.
âOkay, Iâll pay attention.â Your posture now resembled his, looking straight ahead, focusing on absolutely everything the teacher was saying.
After a few minutes, since Jungwon didn't say anything else, you felt curious and took the opportunity to watch how he typed on his laptop. The veins that ran from his forearm to his hands distracting you. You couldn't resist and sat a little further to the right, slowly approaching him until you could see the screen of his laptop, admiring how he managed to write everything down in such an organized way.
Your scent invaded Jungwon's senses, making him turn around slowly and be caught off guard by your face so close and move away again. "What are you doing?" He asked, seeing how you seemed to be practically glued to his side. "I'm seeing how you take your notes." He hadn't noticed before, but now he saw that you were chewing gum. "They're very organized."
He nodded and decided to ignore what you were doing and try to focus on what he was writing again. âYou should do the same.â An idea popped into your head and you smiled. âI think you could teach me.â He scrunched his face at the suggestion. âNo thank you, I pass.â He sighed seeing that the last few topics were incomplete due to the distraction that was your presence.
âGeez Jungwonie, donât be so mean.â Jungwon jumped when he felt you quickly touch his left knee before crossing your arms and staring at him âI want to be a good student.â
âThen start paying attention in class and stop talking.â He gently brought his laptop more to his side and nodded at the teacher with his head.
You pouted playfully, but then smiled, enjoying how Jungwon seemed more expressive than he had been at the party.
Jungwon was more fun than you thought.
The rest of the class you decided to stay quiet and pay attention to what the teacher was saying. Jungwon, on the other hand, had his mind full, wondering how you could be like that. Even though you stayed quiet for the rest of the class, the fact that you were standing next to him and occasionally glancing at his summary to get an idea of what to write in yours took all of his attention away.
When class time ended, he mentally thanked himself that those minutes of mental torture were over. Your presence made him more nervous than any bad joke Jay ever told in his life.
âJungwon, I loved sitting next to you, letâs do it more often.â You said and he sighed, feeling an absurd mental fatigue. âI hope not.â You laughed at his sincerity and pinched his cheek before grabbing your bag to leave. âBye, wonie!â Every time you said a nickname for Jungwon, he felt a shiver run through his body.
He had no idea why you seemed so interested in him, but he knew your presence messed with his focus and he needed to be careful about that.
âMan, itâs been so hot lately.â Jake commented, fanning himself with his shirt as he and Jungwon walked towards a drink machine near the dorm. âItâs becoming unbearable.â
âI agree, I get thirsty all the time.â Jungwon stood in front of the machine pondering what he would choose to drink.
Jake chose a soda while Jungwon chose a natural orange juice âNothing better than a cold drink to cool down.â Jake commented and Jungwon laughed as they walked to the campus building, but they stopped on the way when Jake pointed to a girl walking with an old lady by your side âHey, isn't that y/n?â
Jungwon looked in the direction Jake was pointing and paid attention to the scene.
You were helping an old lady cross the street while she held onto your arm. Your smile was big as you interacted with the old lady. âDo you know her?â Jungwon asked and Jake nodded âSheâs kind of peculiar, but sheâs nice.â He replied and Jungwon watched the scene as you left the old lady in a safe place and then ran back to campus.
âSheâs definitely peculiar.â Jungwon replied, continuing to walk with Jake before hearing you call his name âJungwon!!â
You waved from afar and the boys watched you slowly approach. âWhat a coincidence to find you here.â You commented and Jungwon continued drinking his juice âWe take the same course, itâs not that much of a coincidence.â He responded by turning his head to the side and you laughed at his answer.
âIndeed, youâre right. But itâs always good to see you.â You replied, making him look away and turned to Jake. âItâs nice to see you too, Jake.â
Jake chuckled âThatâs good to know. Were you helping that old lady?â He asked, and you put your hands in the pockets of your jeans nodding your head âShe seemed to be having trouble crossing the street, so I wanted to help her.â You commented, and he smiled âItâs nice how you took time to help her.â
âThatâs what anyone should do.â You replied and turned to Jungwon âAnd you Jungwonie, where are you going?â He, who had been silent this whole time, looked at you confused âIâm going to the next class...â He commented as if it was an obvious thing that you should know since it was class time.
âOh, youâre so disciplined Jungwon, I also have a class now, but I think Iâll go out for some ice cream since itâs so hot.â You replied as you stretched slightly âYouâre going to ditch class?!â Jungwon widened his eyes in disbelief and you laughed âRelax, itâs an extra class that doesnât have mandatory attendance.â Jungwon sighed at your response âStill...â
Jake was silently watching the interaction and Jungwon and chuckled when he realized the interesting mood between you two.
âAnyway, I have to go now. See you guys around.â You replied by waving goodbye with your right hand and left in the opposite direction, making Jungwon run his hand through his hair, shaking his head negatively.
âSheâs so weird...â He spoke softly, but Jake laughed, putting his arm on Jungwonâs shoulder. âAnd what was this atmosphere between you two?â His friend asked, moving his eyebrows mischievously.
âWhat atmosphere?â Jungwon replied, walking ahead and Jake following behind. âCome on man, I could feel the sparks flowing between you two.â His friend said teasingly.
Jungwon sighed, deciding to ignore Jake's comment. "Let's go, I don't want to be late for class."
Jake just smirked and followed Jungwon "Alright sir, I'm coming."
It was late at night when Jungwon was in his room sitting at his desk, making his plan for the next weeks. He separated the curriculum for each subject and organized the subjects by day so he could get ahead and study in advance.
He contently smiled when he finally organized everything in his digital planner and could start to get ahead with all the subjects without stress for the next few days.
As he turned off his laptop, his thoughts were interrupted when his cell phone vibrated on the table and the screen lit up. He was surprised to see that he had received a message from an unknown number at this time of night, since his friends knew that he usually went to bed early.
When he unlocked his phone to check the messages he received, Jungwon couldn't believe what appeared in front of his eyes.
[Unknown] â Good night, Jungwonie.
[Unknown] â Are you awake?
22:31 pm
âIt couldn't be.â
[Jungwon] â How did you get my number?
22:32 pm
Read.
It seemed like an endless cycle, when he thought he was at peace, you appeared out of nowhere taking away all the focus he had.
He stared impatiently at his cell phone, seeing that you'd read the message and hadn't replied, making him anxious. His heart began to beat faster with the fright he got when his cell phone started ringing, and he saw that you were calling him.
Awkwardly he tried to lower the volume of the ringing that broke the silence in his room.
He could ignore you, block you and simply pretend nothing happened, but something inside him couldn't resist the curiosity he felt if he answered. What would be the reason for your call?
He struggled for a few seconds before accepting the call and putting the phone to his ear and hearing your voice on the other end.
"Oh?" You answered Jungwon "I thought you were going to ignore me." Your warm laugh tickled Jungwon's ear. "You didn't answer my question." His voice came out a little more serious than he intended.
"Oh, it was really easy, I asked Jay to give me your number because I wanted to talk to you." The sound of your breathing getting louder because the microphone was closer to your mouth.
'Of course it was Jay.' He thought looking at the ceiling.
"So? What do you want to talk about?" Jungwon leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes, thinking about what would be so important that you would get his number and call him late at night.
"Well, I was feeling so lonely, so I thought about you and decided to call you." Jungwon's cheeks heated up at the way you said it, even though it didn't have the double meaning that crossed his mind.
"So, basically, you just wanted to call to pass the time?" He wanted to confirm his suspicion, and you laughed "That's right!"
"Haa..." He let out a laugh through his nose and you managed to catch it over the phone "You're laughing now, aren't you?" Your voice sounded excited "I can't believe I'm not there to see your smile in person."
Jungwon decided to get up from his chair and go lie down on his bed, ignoring the whirlwind of sensations that always arose every time he interacted with you.
He couldn't understand how you managed to keep him hooked with your unexpected actions. Maybe it was the curiosity he felt about what kind of person you were and why you acted that way.
"You don't make any sense," He replied looking at the ceiling placing his arm over his forehead "shouldn't you go to sleep if you're bored? It's already late."
You laughed, amused by Jungwon's authoritative tone. He was so prudent.
"Jungwon, when I'm bored, I don't sleep, I do something to have fun." He closed his eyes again as he listened to you "And it's not even that late." You replied and he sighed feeling tiredness hit him "For me it is." Jungwon slept early, his sleep was sacred.
"Well then, let's talk until you fall asleep." You said and he thought how weird that was.
Never in his entire life had he stayed on the phone with someone until he fell asleep, this was completely new to him.
"I'm an easy sleeper, so you'll probably be talking to yourself soon." He didn't deny the proposal, but he didn't want to give in so easily. He knew you'd do whatever you wanted anyway.
You chuckled, "Hmm, that's fine by me." The way your voice seemed sweet despite the joking tone made Jungwon wonder how he ended up in this situation.
As you talked about random things and funny stories from your adventures, Jungwon, who was listening intently, felt his eyes grow heavy. He vaguely remembered you talking about running away from the police and how you had a pet rabbit that ran away before falling fast asleep.
"And then he saidâ Won?" You giggled when you heard his soft breathing on the other end and no response. "Have sweet dreams." You wished him hanging up the call, letting Jungwon rest for now.
Jungwon was coming back from the library when he saw you from afar and started to wonder when your presence started to become normal in his daily life. You started to sit next to him when you had classes together, but now you let him focus better. He was also used to it when you talked to him in the hallways or sent him a picture of something completely random during the week.
Little by little he was no longer scared when you appeared out of nowhere, but despite being so present, you had the gift of mysteriously disappearing, and he realized that he didn't know much about you other than the barbaric stories you told him.
As he walked to the classroom you stopped him in his tracks with a suspicious smile. Jungwon looked at you curiously wondering what you were planning this time.
âGood morning, Jungwonie. Where are you going?â Jungwon looked at you, noticing how different you looked today, wearing a black denim skirt and a white turtleneck while drinking strawberry milk. You looked almost angelic.
âTo class, as always.â He replied, taking a step back as you approached him.
âSo, I have an idea.â Jungwon eyed you suspiciously âIâm afraid of your ideas.â He replied, making you laugh and pull him by the shirt to speak in a lower tone âLetâs skip class.â You whispered, and Jungwon sighed âAre you out of your mind?â He decided to ignore you and keep walking, but you stopped in front of him again âHear me out!! It would only be today, and youâre already advanced in the subject. One class wouldnât be a big deal.â
Jungwon looked up at the lights on the ceiling wondering why he was still listening to you. Clearly you had ideas that involved - not being responsible - with college.
âAnd what are you planning?â He asked and you smiled seeing that he didnât deny the idea immediately.
âItâs a surprise.â You grabbed Jungwonâs sleeve and he shook his head âAbsolutely not.â He looked at you and noticed that you didnât have a backpack âYou didnât even come with a backpack? Were you already planning this?â
âJungwon, I promise it will be fun, pretty pleeease, just for today!â You pulled his hand, and his eyes widened âYou wonât fail for missing a single class, you know that.â
He was shifting his weight from one leg to the other as he debated internally about what to do. If it were the old days, he would have refused and gone to class immediately, but now he was actually debating whether or not to skip class.
Jungwon picked up his cell phone and saw that the next class would be a subject he was good at. âI can only miss the next class, then I have to come back.â He looked back at you, biting his lip anxiously, and you gave him a blinding smile.
âYouâre going to love it, Jungwonie!â You intertwined your fingers with his hand and pulled him out of the college, making Jungwonâs heart suddenly race at the contact.
'What the hell am I doing?' He thought in disbelief that he would actually skip class just because you suggested it.
â
Jungwon stared at you silently, watching you play with a cat on your lap. Apparently, your big idea was to skip class to go to a cat cafe near campus, because according to you, it would be easier for Jungwon to get back to his next class.
It was funny how you showed a new side of yourself every time Jungwon interacted with you. A part of him didn't want to admit it, but he was having fun. The day was peaceful and the cats in the place were super docile.
âDo you like cats?â He asked as a kitten snuggled into his lap. âI never thought much about it, but theyâre cute.â You replied seeing how relaxed Jungwon looked.
You looked at him with a side smile, noticing how he looked away. His reactions always amuse you to the extreme. How could he be so cute? Your desire to tease him grew even more.
Jungwon lowered his gaze and stroked the head of the cat that slept on his lap.
âYou look like a cat.â You said out of nowhere and he looked at you quickly âA cat? Why?â He asked and you got closer âBecause youâre cute and serious.â
Jungwon's cheeks heated up when he saw how you were staring at him. âYou know what? I guess I really like cats.â You teased him and laughed, watching as he gave you an awkward smile. His little dimple showed, and you held yourself back from touching his face.
Looking at the time on his phone, Jungwon saw that it was almost time to leave. The kitten that was on his lap woke up, stretched and slowly left, making Jungwon get up.
Jungwon offered his hand so you could stand up, since you were wearing a skirt. You noticed his kind gesture and gave a sincere smile, thinking how considerate he was, even though you disturbed him daily.
âI really enjoyed hanging out with you, Jungwon.â You squeezed his hand and looked into his eyes as you stood up straight. Jungwon nodded, giving you a tight smile, suddenly feeling embarrassed. âYeah, it was nice.â Was all he said before turning to leave the place.
You let go of Jungwonâs hand and followed him in a comfortable walk back to campus. Even though you were silent, Jungwonâs presence alone was extremely comforting, and you had already teased him enough that day.
Deep down, he didn't want to come back to campus, but he wouldn't admit it.
You were finishing washing the cups when you heard the noise of the cafe door opening. Your eyes saw that it was Heeseung arriving late with a smile on his face âSorry I'm late, thanks for saving me once again.â He commented as you took off your apron and handed it to him.
âYou owe me one. This is the fourth time Iâve covered your emergency shift.â You stretched as you watched the night begin to draw in through the cafe window. Every now and then, you would do favors for Heeseung, partly because he was your best friend, but also because he always helped you out when you were in trouble.
âHere, to make it up to you.â You looked at two tickets in Heeseungâs hand âItâs an underground rock band. Theyâre playing later.â Your friend looked at you mischievously âYou can go with Jungwon.â He whispered, making you quickly grab the tickets, seeing the bandâs name.
You looked at him suspiciously at the mention of Jungwon's name. Ever since Heeseung saw you laughing on your phone while talking to Jungwon, he never missed an opportunity to tease you.
Even though the time was a little late, you smirked thinking about the vision of going to a concert with Jungwon in the middle of the night.
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea.
âYouâre a genius, Heeseung! Thank you!!â You grabbed your bag and left the place.
â
Jungwon was in a deep sleep when he woke up to the sound of his cell phone ringing. He rubbed his eyes, trying to read the name on the screen and saw that it was you. 'Of course it's her.' Sliding his finger across the screen, he answered while yawning slightly âHello?â
âJungwonieeee, were you sleeping?â Your loud voice made Jungwon move the phone slightly away from his ear âI was.â He turned on the light in the room trying to get rid of the rest of the sleep he had âI'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your sleep, but I have an invitation to make.â
âWhat is it?â Jungwon sighed, knowing he wouldnât escape whatever you were planning.
âLetâs go out now.â You said directly, âMy friend Heeseung gave me two tickets for a concert later, we need to go.â
Heeseung? Jungwon turned his head to the side at the mention of the boy. He remembered seeing him before at a few parties, but never interacted with him enough. A strange feeling formed in the pit of Jungwon's stomach, but he decided to ignore it.
ây/n, I should be sleeping.â He sighed, scratching his head as he looked at the schedule. âAnd we have class tomorrow! Itâs still Wednesday.â You laughed at Jungwonâs worried tone.
âNo problem, breakfast tomorrow is on me.â Jungwon was silent for a moment. âIs the place far?â He asked, getting out of bed. âNoo, itâs really close.â You cheered up seeing that Jungwon was interested âCome on, itâll be cool.â Your voice seemed more seductive than usual at that moment.
âOkay, send me the location.â He said and you laughed âSilly, Iâm already waiting for you in front of your building.â He widened his eyes and opened the curtain of the bedroom window seeing nothing on the street âIâm just kidding.â
Your laughter made him smile unexpectedly. âYouâre impossible.â He headed towards the bathroom, knowing he would have to take a shower and get ready at the last minute.
âI send you the location, byee Jungwonie!!â You hung up, and Jungwon decided to get ready for yet another adventure you got him into.
â
You were standing outside the bar where the concert would take place when you saw Jungwon arriving. Your eyes widened when you saw how much more handsome he looked than usual. He was wearing a black tank top with dark jeans and a leather jacket that adorned him perfectly.
When he gave a slight smile, running his hand through his hair, you felt a heat rise up your neck. He was so hot.
âHeyy, Jungwonie.â You pushed yourself off the wall and walked towards Jungwon. âSo, you really came, huh?â
âI promised, didnât I?â He stepped closer and you nodded with a small chuckle âOf course.â
He saw the door and stood beside you. âSo, shall we go in?â You asked, and he nodded.
The night was just beginning.
The place was surprisingly full, with many people bumping into each other and Jungwon instinctively took your hand so that you wouldn't get lost in the place. The band was finishing adjusting the instruments on stage when you reached a good position to see the stage.
âAre you a fan of this band?â Jungwon asked beside you and you laughed âIâve never heard of them in my entire life.â Jungwon leaned down slightly to hear you. Your whisper made him bite his lips trying not to laugh.
Going to a rock concert of a band you didn't know on a random Wednesday was so you.
âYou're funny.â He spoke lowly, but you heard it anyway. The loud sounds of the instruments made your voices almost inaudible.
As the band began to perform their opening sets, Jungwon was thinking about how crazy this all was. He was at a bar, in the middle of the week, to see a show because you called him.
In a way, in the last few weeks, he had been living a lot more since he met you, but at the same time, it was scary. It was distant from everything he had planned, and it made him wary.
You were like a breeze that suddenly appeared when the sun was too hot, but at the same time disappeared just as quickly. Even though you had built a kind of friendship, he still wanted to know your dreams, more of your story... he simply wanted to know more about you.
His train of thought was interrupted when he saw that the place started to get crowded, and some guys started pushing you. Instinctively, he stood behind you, giving the rude guys a deadly glare.
You could tell he wanted to protect you, but he was too shy to touch you. His hands were in the air around you, and you smiled, pulling his hands to your waist. Jungwon was caught off guard, seeing you turn slightly to say something, âWhat a gentleman...â Your smile distracted Jungwon âThatâs better.â He nodded, feeling his ears heat up.
When the show started, you didn't talk much, but you laughed a lot because you took the opportunity to scream when everyone else screamed and clapped madly at the end of each song. Jungwon would pull you into his chest occasionally when he saw that someone wanted to cross in front of you and you knew you made the right decision to invite him out.
â
When the concert ended, Jungwon thought that he wanted to enjoy it more. As much as it was fun, you couldn't talk much because of the volume of the instruments.
âSo Jungwonie, did you like it?â You asked as you walked down the street with him. âI liked it. It was very different from the concerts Iâve been to before.â Jungwon put his hands in his pants pockets as you both went to a part of the city that didnât have many people at that time.
You walked up some steps that led to a small park that had a beautiful view of a part of the city. The place was empty, and Jungwon sat next to you on a small bench there.
âYou know, I really admire you Jungwon.â You confessed as you looked at the moon that it looked particularly beautiful that night. âWhy?â He asked curiously.
âYou seem to have everything in order. Youâre always so organized, I bet you have everything planned.â He looked at you intently. This time you were being sincere, as if you wanted to vent about something. âIn a way, yes, but it requires a lot of sacrifices, so itâs not that simple.â Jungwon sighed, knowing all the daily sacrifices he makes for his goals.
âI wish I was like that,â You gave a sad smile. âItâs like I canât follow through on the goals I set for myself.â Jungwon was silent for a moment, thinking about what to say. âI know weâre very different, but everyone has felt lost at some point in their lives.â You looked at him, seeing how kind his expression was. âUntil you find your focus, itâs okay to fail and try again.â
You looked away, feeling your eyes water slightly. Maybe you just needed to hear that.
âAnd personally speaking,â He cleared his throat, âI also wish I could be a little freer like you, but itâs not easy for me.â You looked at him in surprise. Jungwon didnât seem like the type of person to say something like that directly. âI like being disciplined, but maybe it wouldnât be so bad to go out for a few days.â He gave a wry smile, scratching the back of his neck, and you laughed.
âWell, I told you it would be cool.â You laughed, standing up from the bench. âYouâre actually a pretty nice guy, Jungwon.â Your gaze lingered on Jungwonâs figure who looked like an angel under the moonlight. âI hope you donât change.â
Jungwon gave a cute smile that made you want to hug him âI promise I wonât.â He replied, standing up too âNow letâs go, because tomorrow youâll pay for breakfast.â He went ahead and you laughed âHey! Wait for me!â
And so, you had a peaceful walk back to the dorm in a wonderful mood that you both didn't want to end.
Jungwon didn't know how you ended up in his room, but you were there.
You looked around the room, analyzing each decoration and Jungwon felt aware of your presence. Everything was meticulously organized just as you expected.
Jungwon wasn't one to have a lot of things. He was a believer in necessary minimalism. His desk had only a few notebooks and books neatly stacked, a simple closet, and his bed had a dark blue sheet neatly folded.
His room was very clean, and you smiled seeing how he had a small frame with a family photo and some keychains next to it.
"Your room is nice..." You turned to Jungwon seeing how tense he looked. "It's just like you." He gave an awkward smile and looked away. "It's pretty plain, but I like it."
You approached slowly with your hands behind your back "Jungwon, I'm curious..." Jungwon looked at you, feeling his stomach churn "About what?"
Your gaze was firmly fixed on the boy who had rosy cheeks watching every step you took.
âDo you think Iâm pretty?â Jungwon almost choked on your question as you ran your fingers down his shirt. âBe honest.â
He swallowed hard and looked away, "Y-Yes." You smiled, grabbing his chin and turning his gaze back to you, "You know, Jungwon, you're so cute." He took a step back and you got even closer.
"I like that." Your hands touched Jungwon's chest, who felt the back of his calf touch his bed. He walked backwards so much that he ended up sitting on his own bed, seeing you in front of him with an amused smile.
Your makeup was beautiful, your cheeks were flushed and your lips looked softer than usual. Jungwon couldn't speak at the sight, his heart racing at the way you bent down to be in his line of sight.
Jungwon was sweating, feeling a sudden heat rise through his body. He moved away slightly, leaning on his hands, unable to say a word.
This was wrong. He wasn't the kind of guy to take girls to his room, but he couldn't resist you. He knew he should probably be nice and find a way to get you out safely, but he couldn't say a word.
Not when you were climbing on top of him without any warning. Jungwon's breath hitched as you ran your hands down his chest, your face close to his.
He looked away and you giggled. "Have you done this before?" Jungwon felt a shiver run through his body when he heard your voice whispering in his ear. "Yes." He spoke quickly and you arched an eyebrow. What a surprise.
You chuckled, your breath fanning his face. You pulled his face up by his chin to face him, your thumb going up to Jungwon's mouth. âYou have pretty lips." You whispered as you slid your finger across his bottom lip. "You too." He replied, staring at you.
You were surprised by his answer and gave a mischievous smile. Jungwon gasped when he felt your full weight on his lap, his heart was beating so hard with so much nervousness that he could only swallow dryly waiting for your next steps.
Your left hand was holding his shoulder, and you had such a deep gaze that he felt hypnotized. He would do anything you wanted if you kept looking at him like that.
With both hands you pushed his coat back, taking it off. He threw the coat to another corner while you noticed how red his ears were.
"Jungwonie," you called out to him and he looked at you eagerly "do you want to touch me?" Your question made Jungwon feel butterflies in his stomach. If you could read his mind right now you would know that was all he could think about right now.
"Yes." He sighed, closing his eyes as he felt your lips place a kiss on the corner of his neck.
Your hands pulled his hands to your hips. âYou can.â He tentatively moved his hands from your hips to your waist, swallowing hard when you moved closer.
Your hands touched his cheeks, bringing his face closer to yours. He looked into your eyes, and you smiled, touching your noses. You were so close he couldn't think straight. Your breath mingled with his as you closed the distance and kissed him.
Jungwon felt the world stop with the movement of your lips on his. A soft, delicate kiss making him tighten your waist. You moved your hands to his hair, making him more desperate.
He brought your body closer to his and you smiled into the kiss, his cheeks redder than usual. He brought his face closer to yours again and you pulled away, teasing him.
He was so hot when he looked desperate.
"Easy, I'm not going anywhere." You replied and he felt slightly embarrassed, but that soon passed when you kissed him again, your hands going up under his shirt.
His breath hitched as he felt the touch of your fingers on his skin. His arm wrapped around you completely, the kiss becoming more desperate.
He pulled away to kiss your neck but was interrupted by a loud noise.
â BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP â
Jungwon's eyes widened as he woke up suddenly, his chest rising and falling in shock from the alarm as he stared at the ceiling of his own room. He was dreaming. It wasn't real.
He sat up in bed and ran his hand over his sweaty forehead. His entire body felt hot with the shame he was feeling at that moment.
A feeling of guilt invaded his chest. How could he dream things like that? Especially about you. His fingertips touched his own mouth thinking about how everything seemed so real. He couldn't forget.
The headache from having slept so little seemed unbearable as he tried to adjust to the brightness of the room. He pulled off his own sheet, throwing it to the side, trying to get up.
He had to face the reality that it wasn't real, and he would need to see you and pretend to be normal. He looked at his watch and broke out in a cold sweat when he remembered that you are going to have coffee together that morning.
'Great.' He thought indignantly to himself.
â
After he got ready to go out, he looked in the mirror and realized how bad he looked. Dark circles under his eyes and his excitement on the floor.
He didn't know how to forget his dream, and much less how he would face you that morning. He sent you a message asking where you were. Maybe it would be better for him to ignore everything he dreamed and continue like nothing happened.
He walked into the campus and was greeted by Jake who looked at him confused "Man, you alright?" He noticed how Jungwon looked more dejected than usual.
"Just a rough night." He sighed, picking up his phone and seeing that you still hadn't responded to his message.
"You should take care of yourself, the heat is terrible. I heard that two people fainted today because of it." He commented and Jungwon nodded.
"I'll keep that in mind." He replied "By the way, have you seen y/n? I texted her earlier and she hasn't responded yet." Jungwon asked and Jake shook his head "I don't know, but you can ask her best friend." Jake looked back and pointed down the path "I just passed him, it was a boy in a red shirt and black pants, I think you know him, itâs Heeseung."
"Thanks, see you around." Jungwon left first and Jake smiled seeing how this time it was him who was looking for you, and not the other way around.
As Jungwon walked down the hallway looking for Heeseung, a part of him felt pathetic. He didn't understand why he seemed so desperate to find you, you could be busy and then you would answer, but he felt like he needed to see you.
He made a small run touching your best friend's shoulder who looked at him curiously. Heeseung recognized him instantly "You're Heeseung, right?" He asked worriedly and the boy smiled gently "Yes, and you're Jungwon, Jay's friend. I remember you." Jungwon just nodded before asking what he really wanted to know "Do you know where y/n is? I texted her and she didn't respond so I got worried."
Heeseung widened his eyes, understanding the situation. "Dude, didn't you hear?" Jungwon felt his heart tighten at Heeseung's tone. "What?" Heeseung sighed. "She fainted because of the heat. She's in the campus infirmary, I'm coming back from there."
Jungwon felt all the color drain from his face when he heard the news. You? Fainted? You, who has so much energy and never sit still?
âWhere is the infirmary? I need to go now." He despaired and Heeseung grabbed his shoulder "Calm down, otherwise you'll be the next one to faint if you act like this." Jungwon let out the air he didn't know he was holding. All the worries he felt before disappeared because you were all that mattered right now.
"I'll take you there." Heeseung lightly squeezed Jungwon's shoulder. "Come on, I'll show you the way."
"Is she okay?" Jungwon asked on the way and Heeseung nodded. "Yeah, she was taking a nap when I went there. She must have been tired."
Jungwon felt a little more relieved, but he still wanted to see you with his own eyes. Heeseung took him to the place, leaving him at the entrance. "I need to go now, take good care of her." He said and Jungwon thanked him for his help. "Of course, thanks for showing me the way."
Heeseung gave Jungwon a friendly smile, "It's okay brother, don't worry." He replied and Jungwon felt a pang of guilt for harboring strange feelings towards Heeseung who seemed like a nice guy.
He said goodbye and Jungwon entered the infirmary looking for you. His eyes searched the area until he saw you lying on the bed with your eyes closed and sleeping peacefully. He carefully approached and sat down on the chair next to your bed.
He wouldn't leave until you woke up.
While you were sleeping, he noticed how long your eyelashes were and how relaxed your eyebrows looked when you slept. How angelic your face looked when you were expressionless.
He brushed a few strands of hair from your face, tucking it behind your ear. Your cheeks were slightly pale, perhaps from the weakness.
He looked around and saw that there was no food or water there, so he left his bag on the chair and went to buy some supplies from the machine outside the room. When he came back you seemed to have shifted position, your arm gently hugging the sheet.
He side smiled at how cute you were sleeping and started to think about how he ended up in this situation. You were just a strange girl he met at a party but now became important to the point where he watched you sleep in an infirmary ward.
Your presence was already part of Jungwon's life and he couldn't ignore it. His fingers lightly caressed your cheeks, warming the place.
Jungwon couldn't deny it, you were important to him.
When you started to move, he retracted his hand and looked at you curiously. You blinked your eyes slightly, stretching. Your gaze scanned the room, realizing it was the infirmary and finally noticing Jungwon's presence by your side.
"Jungwon?" You asked confused looking around "Why am I here?" Your head hurt a little and Jungwon made you lie down again.
"You fainted from the heat, you should stay here, rest and hydrate yourself." He said as he adjusted the pillow for you.
You searched your mind for your last memory and remembered that you had arrived at the campus gate before everything went dark out of nowhere. Jungwon looked at you intently, his shy persona being replaced by his comforting presence by your side.
"We were supposed to have coffee together." You mumbled sadly as you looked at him. Jungwon gave the first smile of the day, lightly caressing your forehead. "Your health is more important. We have all the time in the world for that." He answered gently and you felt your heart melt at that.
Jungwon looked even more handsome today. His presence was like an anchor you could rely on. He brought you unparalleled peace.
"You need to hydrate." He handed you a bottle of water so you could drink. "Okay." You replied, drinking the water and trying to relax. Your gaze fell on Jungwon who was staring at you, and you looked away, feeling self-conscious.
"You need to go to class." Jungwon snickered at your comment "I'm not leaving here." He replied taking the bottle back and giving you a cupcake so you could eat.
You gave Jungwon a mischievous look. âOh? Jungwonie is going to skip class to take care of me?â You chuckled âIâm honored.â
He touched your cheek and smiled, "Looks like you're feeling better already." He commented and you nodded "Yes! Thanks to you Jungwonie, thank you very much."
"You're welcome." He saw how happy you looked and remembered the dream he had earlier. He looked away, feeling his heart suddenly race.
This was not a good time to remember that.
"I'll recover and I promise we'll have breakfast." Your voice was softer as you lay back down on the bed, closing your eyes as tiredness took over.
"Then recover quickly." Jungwon said smiling seeing how comfortable you looked to try to sleep again in front of him "Sweet dreams."
He let you rest while he played with his phone. As long as you were okay, nothing else mattered.
After you had fully recovered, Jungwon bombarded you with messages daily reminding you to eat regularly, sleep at the right times, and prioritize your health.
Since he was attentive and helped you over the past few days, you suggested camping with Jungwon over the weekend as a way of saying thank you.
You rented a car and bought a tent so you could enjoy the nice weather. While researching perfect camping spots, you found a great one that wasn't too far away, wasn't too crowded, and had a beautiful setting.
Jungwon was initially worried. Apparently, he wanted to avoid any scenario that could be dangerous for you, but you assured him that you were already recovered, and it would be fine.
Reluctantly he accepted, and now you were at the site setting up the tent until you noticed that the weather seemed cloudier than usual.
"The breeze is great." Jungwon said as he took a sip of water and rested after holding the heavy irons at the base of the tent.
"At least that." You replied, closing the tent's zipper and seeing that it had turned out great "It turned out perfect, we'll be able to enjoy it a lot."
Jungwon smiled "Yes. By the way, when are we going to set up the other tent?" He asked and you looked at him confused "There is no other tent."
The silence that hung in the air was embarrassing.
Jungwon was speechless and you began to realize that since you only bought one tent you would probably have to sleep in it together. His cheeks turned slightly pink and Jungwon cleared his throat trying to lighten the mood "I can sleep in the car, no problem."
"No way." You turned around and replied immediately "You did all the work, you're not going to sleep on the hard car seat."
Jungwon sighed at your stubbornness "y/n, I won't let you sleep in the car either." You gave him a smirk "Then let's sleep together."
Another silence filled the air.
Jungwon felt his throat close up, memories of the dream he had reappearing in his mind.
"It's fine with me, if you want..." Your voice sounded slightly hesitant, a little embarrassed. Something new for Jungwon, considering you always seemed confident.
"Are you sure?" He asked, looking at you. "Absolutely." You returned his gaze and answered honestly.
He knew that there was no going back on this decision, so he accepted the consequences that would probably come from it.
"Come on Jungwon, the day is beautiful, and I saw that there is a small river there where we can take some pictures." You opened the tent and went out first, changing the subject.
He gave a smile, following you. âShow me then.â
You two walked around the place and realized that you were the only ones there. A small river ran through the place making the landscape even more beautiful.
"Jungwon, take some pictures of me." You said laughing as you posed holding your summer dress. He smiled as he recorded everything.
"Go a little to the left." He directed you and you smiled as if it were a professional photoshoot "Jungwon come too."
He walked over to your side and you pulled him closer so you could take a selfie. He smiled wider, showing off his dimple, and you put your faces together for a cute photo.
You swiped your finger on the screen looking at the pictures, feeling happy with the interaction while Jungwon looked at you from the corner of his eye. He couldn't ignore how much more beautiful you looked today.
Your loose hair and red dress matched perfectly. He stared at you, feeling butterflies in his stomach that were impossible to ignore.
He knew what that meant: he liked you. Not just a simple liking but liking you to the point of accepting any crazy idea you suggested, doing whatever it took to make you happy.
He was completely in love with you, and he couldn't deny it anymore.
"Jungwon, I loved these photos, let's try some with the phone horizontally." You said and he smiled taking the phone from your hand "Sure, whatever you want."
You smiled at his response as you took more pictures near the riverbank.
â
Jungwon went to get some snacks from the tent while you dipped a part of your feet in the river. He came back smiling holding some snacks and you got excited.
"Oh, that looks good." You saw a sweet pepero and cheered. "I knew you'd want some candy." Jungwon commented and you smirked. "You know me so well, Jungwonie."
He smiled as he handed you the pepero, but before you could enjoy the snacks, the sound of thunder startled you and a sudden rain began to fall on the two of you.
Jungwon took your hand as you ran back to the tent when the rain suddenly got heavier. You went in first and Jungwon followed right behind you, zipping up the tent. The rain was so heavy that you were amazed at how strong the tent was.
"I didn't expect it to rain today." You commented, putting the snacks away in a container in the corner.
"Me neither." Jungwon turned to you and took off the light coat he was wearing to place on your shoulders. You looked wetter than him, maybe because you were wearing a dress.
"Here, so you don't get cold." He said and you looked at him. "I'll try to get a towel from the car." You held his arm. "No, the rain is too heavy. It's better to wait." Your gaze and Jungwon's met and a silence hung in the air.
Jungwonâs hair was wet, his bangs were plastered to his forehead, and his shirt was slightly see-through. You couldnât help but check him out.
He noticed your gaze and felt his heart suddenly race.
Just like in his dream, you approached. Jungwon felt an unsettling sensation run through his body seeing how your eyes were looking at him with such tenderness.
âIâm not cold.â Jungwon swallowed hard as you took off his coat, letting it fall onto the mattress beneath you. He was paralyzed, as if he didnât know what to say, enchanted by your gaze.
Jungwon's right hand touched your cheek, removing the small droplets of water that were there. "Are you sure?" His gentle tone made your stomach flutter. "Yes." You smiled, realizing that he kept his hand there on your face. His thumb made circles on your skin, an act that showed affection on his part.
He looked deep into your eyes and in an impulse, Jungwon lowered his hand to the corner of your neck and closed the distance, giving you a sweeping kiss. All the rest of his consciousness faded away when you pulled him by his shirt, running your hands through his soft black hair.
Your back hit the soft mattress as Jungwon climbed on top of you. The kiss was desperate, his hands roaming your body. Jungwon groaned into your mouth when you pulled the hair on the back of his head, making you smirk in the middle of the kiss.
When his hands went up your legs, you pulled away to breathe, Jungwon's mouth devouring your neck making you gasp. "J-Jungwon." You whispered, closing your eyes and he brought his face close to yours, looking into your eyes. For a moment he realized what he was doing and swallowed hard.
He wanted to say he regretted it, but the way your eyelashes adorned your eyes as you looked at him, your flushed cheeks and how the fabric of your dress seemed like a huge impediment to his hands made him sure he didn't want to stop.
âIâm sorry.â His lips brushed gently against yours. âI couldnât help myself.â His fingers lightly squeezed the skin of your thighs and you smiled. âItâs okay, I want it too.â You responded by giving him a long peck.
He observed every detail of your face. Your eyes, your nose, your mouth, the line of your jaw, your collarbone that was now completely exposed. You were completely beautiful, and he could no longer contain the feelings that invaded his chest ây/n,â He whispered giving you a soft kiss âI like you.â He was the first to confess and you smiled entwining his hair between your fingers âI like you too, Jungwonie.â
He laughed at the nickname and kissed you slowly. You wrapped your legs around his torso, pulling him towards you as you felt him deepen the kiss with his tongue. Jungwon could only think about how he would enjoy this moment as if it were the last time.
âCan I touch you?â He asked, trailing kisses down your jawline. âYou drive me crazy.â You moaned as you felt his lips on your neck. You just nodded desperately and felt your breath catch in your throat as he moved his hands up from your thighs to your back, under your dress.
âJungwon.â You moaned his name involuntarily as he lifted the fabric of your red dress. He liked it when you called his name like that, as if you were desperate for something more.
The raindrops fell harder on the tent's material as you pulled Jungwon's shirt up, touching Jungwon's abdomen. You were surprised to feel how toned and soft it was. Jungwon's moan was swallowed by your mouth in the desperate kiss you gave him, your hands exploring his arms and back.
âDamn I really like you, like,â He started to say as he wrapped his arms around you tighter âI'm truly madly deeply in love with you.â Your stomach turned at his confession and how he kissed your collarbone. He moved his kisses up your neck making you see stars in the air.
âI donât want to stop.â He confessed before kissing below your ear, sending a shiver down your spine. âThen donât stop.â You replied as you felt the soft skin of his abdomen with your fingertips âPlease.â
You looked at him like you had been asking for this for a long time. You gave him an obscene smile that made him want to sink you even deeper into the tent mattress and never come back to the surface again.
Jungwon's strong hands that once explored every skin on your body lifted all the fabric of your dress and you helped him take off his shirt. Every contact with Jungwon's skin lit a spark between you.
âYouâre beautiful.â He pulled your face up by your cheeks and moved his hand down to your neck, his thumb gently caressing your throat as you tried to breathe since you were completely out of breath. âPlease be mine.â He whispered against your lips âI already am.â You replied and he smiled before enveloping you in a completely passionate kiss.
â
Jungwon hugged you while stroking your hair. You drew random patterns on his cheek thinking about everything that had happened.
âI didnât know you felt that way.â You broke the silence by laughing âI was surprised when you kissed me, but I loved it.â Jungwon looked at you carefully thinking how beautiful you looked in his arms âI couldnât resist.â He replied and you kissed his cheek.
âAnd to think that before you could barely look at me.â He smiled âYou were impossible.â The way he looked at you made you feel so many feelings at the same time that you were speechless. You had never liked anyone the way you liked Jungwon, and this was new to you.
âIâm looking forward to seeing more sides of you, Jungwon.â You whispered, giving Jungwon a kiss. âYouâre like a box of surprises.â He pulled you closer. âAnd Iâll show you everything you want to see.â The sound of the rain being the perfect soundtrack for the cozy moment between you.
Jungwon had to admit: Jake was right. There were sparks between you two after all.
