It sounded petulant coming from his lips, and Shane privately cursed himself for acting so pathetic in front of his chosen victim even though he knew he could simply erase the entire incident from her memory once he'd broken her will. But it just ruined the whole thing to see her acting this utterly indifferent to her own impending subjugation. Couldn't she at least pretend to be frightened? Couldn't she summon up even a little bit of defiance for him to melt away into helpless, horny obedience for him?

She could not. All Shane got was another shrug and a muttered reply of, "I guess they just got bored with me.
