"We could've been something special, you know? Now look at us."
"Some part of me still wants to forgive you. Even after everything."
"I can't believe they paired us up together, even with our… history."
"I hear things have been going well for you. Must've repaired your karma."
"I shouldn't even be jealous, you're not even mine anymore. You never were."
"I still don't know what happened to us… how did all that love turn into hate?"
"I know you still hate me, I don't blame you for that. But, I still need your help."
"There was once a time I would've given my life for you. Now I just don't care."
"I wish this had ended on better terms. No changing the past, though, I guess."
"You scream so loudly about how much you hate me. But, you don't. Not really."
"You don't really loathe me. You can't. Not after everything we've been through."
"I don't think this was ever love. I think it was always hatred, we just didn't see it."
"I'm only here out of necessity. When it's all over, I never want to see your face, again."
"I still think about you all the time... mostly about all the terrible things I hope befall you."
"You left nothing but chaos in your wake. I've just cleaned it all up... don't bring all that back."
"You were so scared to lose me, you always said that. Not too scared to do that, though."
"I still remember the good times, you know. Everything we had… it's a shame it all went away."
//Okay, I think I can be up and running finally! Asks and submits are open. Feel free to shoot me a message if you're interested in plotting but know I may be slower than normal due to mandatory overtime at my job.
I saw it different, I must admit
I caught a glimpse, I'm going after it
They say people never change, but that's bullshit

┋ᵈᵉˡⁱᵛᵉʳʸ ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ ᶜᵘʳˢᵉ⇢ Mahito, maybe don't mention my past indiscretions?
"Indiscretions? Is that what we're calling them?" The curse planted his hands behind his head and turns his eyes upwards at the sky as he seemed to mull this over. "Why not just own up to them, ne? People should know what you're capable of. Knowing that just gives more weight to your mercies, doesn't it? Besides, it's not like you don't already have a reputation so you might as well lean into it and build from the foundation you have. It's sturdy after all."
His eyebrows shot up as if something had just occurred to him, eyes returning to meet Getou's in an expression of at least partially genuine surprise. "Unless you feel guilty? You don't right? right?"
@knot-ee Yuji's head was pounding as he came to, a cracked stone ceiling swimming into view. Where was he? Something beneath him creaked unpleasantly when he rolled onto his side- a thin dirty mattress. He blinked a few times and rubbed at his aching eyes with the heels of his palms before looking up to take in his surroundings properly. He already knew what he'd find before it all came into focus. Another damn jail cell. "Oh come on." The complaint was voiced to no one in particular, except for maybe whatever capricious and mean spirited god oversaw his existence. He sat up, swinging his legs over the side of the cot, and running a hand through his hair-fisting it at the back in frustration. At least they hadn't cuffed him this time- but that also meant whoever brought him in felt pretty surely about the security of his cell. Sure enough- the bars looked just about brand new and the lock on the door appeared equally as up to date. No one was even standing guard, so either they were positive about him staying where he was put or no one much cared if he did or not. Yuji didn't feel like testing which it was. Nothing made a man look guiltier than trying to break himself out of prison.
Heaving a sigh he cast a cursory glance around and was relieved to find a tin cup of water along with a plate of some meager offerings sitting on a rickety stool beside the cot. He eagerly emptied the glass and then allowed his attention to extend beyond the bars to the rest of the immediate area. It was a typical jail- not a prison, thankfully. There was only one other cell beside his- empty and a desk in a far corner beyond that. Yuji recognized from past experience, the settings of an attached sheriff's office. Odd to find it empty, but he didn't mind having a moment or two alone to collect his thought and try to piece together what had happened. A few hazy images crossed his mind- the warm interior of a well kept bar, a few friendly faces turning sour. The barrel of a gun between his eyes. And now it was rushing back all at once. Another bank robbery with his name smeared all over it- and this time it hadn't been clean. Three people wounded and one dead. Never mind that Yuji had been two towns over at the time- it was his face people remembered, clear as anything. Just like last time, and the time before that, and the time before that, and- Shit. He really couldn't go anywhere these days. A certain someone had made sure of that. He buried his face in his hands again and wracked his brain for a better excuse than "It wasn't me."
⋘ 𝕥𝕖𝕩𝕥 𝕞𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕒𝕘𝕖: ⁺¹ ᶦⁿᵘᵐᵃᵏᶦ ᵗᵒᵍᵉ ⇴ ᵐᵉᵍᵘᵐᶦ ⋙ “Tsᴜɴᴀ ᴍᴀʏᴏ.” 【you were shorter, then.】
"And you're still short now, so what's your point?" Megumi scoffed mildly without looking up to confirm the assessment of his upper classmate. The older boy was hovering over Megumi's shoulder as he turned the page of their new yearbook to show something less embarrassing. It was true that he'd hit a growth spurt since the beginning of their first semester, but did Toge really need to mention it?
"Don't know why they even bother with these when there's barely a handful of us." The next array of photos reflected the same images on each of their student IDs for the previous year accompanied by brief summaries of their specialties. Nothing new, nothing worth looking at. He shut the book and passed it over his shoulder to Toge, who seemed more interested in it than he was currently. "Knock yourself out."
❛ you cannot love. ❜ /For Mahito!
Mismatched eyes glittered with unmistakable malice, a jarring juxtaposition on an otherwise perfectly pleasant expression. It added a note of cruelty to the benign smile that grew in response to Yuta's accusation. "You don't think so?" Mahito asked, lower lip jutting out in a pout as he tapped his chin in mock consideration. "But you of all people should know better than to say a curse is incapable of love, isn't that right? You and your Queen." His head tipped to the side, gaze tracing over the length of the boy opposite him, sizing him up. A far cry from Junpei or Yuji. Yuta wasn't someone who could be easily manipulated or riled up. There was a steadiness to him that many lacked. And a coldness that Mahito recognized immediately. This one wasn't to be underestimated. He may be possessed of power enough to overwhelm him, but there was a shadow behind his light. Yuta Okkotsu was capable of his own brand of cruelty. No human was truly immune. But that capability wasn't what interested the curse. It was the easiest thing in the world to suss out the darkness in one's heart. But to fully grasp the gravity of love- a love that not only created one of the most powerful curses in existence but then purified it? That was worth examining. And now, thanks to the Manipulator's benevolence, Mahito could do so with relative impunity. Maybe there were some perks to being a kept thing after all. "Is it because of the fear and the hatred that created me? You believe I can't be anything more than what nature crafted?" He took a step closer to Yuta, emboldened by the bond to Suguru Getou that shielded him. Slowly, he circled as much to feed into the sorcerer's discomfort as to take him in. "Well maybe you're right. Maybe I'm doomed to exist forever as I am, rot cycling to rot. Or maybe~" He drew close enough to speak directly into Yuta's ear. "Maybe I just need someone like you to give me a little nudge. Maybe I'm just waiting for the next stage of evolution to push me into traffic and turn me into something great." He withdrew then as easily as he'd encroached, throwing up his arms in careless defeat. "But probably not right? A goldfish can only get so big in a little bowl, and even if you dump it into the river, it's still just going to be a bigger goldfish." With a heavy, theatrical sigh the curse dropped onto one of the chairs in front of an empty desk, kicking his feet up onto it and rocking back on the rear legs. "Are you pointing it out because it bothers you? Or are you just trying to hurt my feelings?"
