I was super hoping I wouldn't have to make this post, but shit keeps hitting the fan and I'm struggling for a lot of bills and the 1.65 I have in my account really ain't gonna cover it.

My cat has been sick, my online bank "lost" money and wont give it back, I had to pay a bunch to get my car fixed/re-registered/insured, I got a ticket for "texting while driving" despite the fact that I was just switching the song on spotify at a red light. It's been a hell of a couple months and I haven't been able to get back on my feet so I need to open up a few Emergency Commission Slots (tm)

Right now I need the rest of rent ($350), my car payment and insurance (500$).

for the love of god please listen to old users when we say this site works differently. that you can’t just sit around with a blank blog. make posts or reblog, but do something at least. this site works because we don’t have an unavoidable garbage algorithm forcefeeding us posts based on our likes. we do not need another fucking twitter, tiktok or instagram.

writing tip: searching "[place of origin]ish names" will get you a lot of stuff and nonsense made up by baby bloggers.

searching "[place] census [year]" will get you lists of real names of real people who lived in that place.

obsessed with how all you need to do is throw money at public education and eliminate most standardized testing and you will start getting smarter, more engaged, kinder adults. obsessed with how giving people safe housing, reliable access to good food, and decent wages dramatically reduces drug overdoses and gun violence. obsessed with how much people actually want to get together and fix infrastructure, invent new ways of helping each other, and create global ways of living sustainably once you give them livable pay to do so. obsessed with how tracking diseases, developing medicines, and improving public health becomes so much easier when you just make healthcare free at point of use.
