I'm about to start a Sejanus Plinth defense squad considering the takes (tm) i have seen on his character.
The reason why Sejanus trusted Snow is because Snow never gave him a reason not to. It is not because he is stupid. Actually I would argue, if we didn't have his internal monologue and we didn't know his future, Coryo's actions before part 3 would make him seem very trustworthy as a friend for Sejanus AND as someone who is willing to defy the Capitol. But we have his internal monologue and Sejanus didn't.
Form Sejanus's point of view, he was bullied as a kid and Coryo was the only one who didn't participate in it.
Coryo was the one who went and met the tributes and climbed with them to the zoo. From Sejanus' point of view, this could be seen as his first act of defiance.
Coryo cheated to save Lucy Gray, the district 12 girl three times. He got expelled because of it, that's literally defying the Capitol.
Sejanus went into the arena to die and Coryo stopped him, putting his own life in danger in the process. Of course he would trust Snow with his life after that.
Snow put on a front. That's the point of the contrast between his extremely unhinged internal monologue and his somewhat heroic action. Lucy Gray fell for it (to a point), Sejanus fell for it , everyone fell for it.
That's not on Sejanus and it doesn't make him stupid.
#did not get it when I read a few months ago
#now that I have a job lmfaoo
Now that the first episode of the season is out, I can finally comment on how hilariously intense the meeting of the Upper Moons was.
Like, we really watched (I, even paid money to see in the cinema) the equivalent of Akaza just taking the elevator to the office, pass by the recepcionist, get greeted by the one coworker he can’t fucking stand, get chewed up by the boss like every Monday and having to insist to his bitchass coworker that he’d rather die than go ‘hang out’ after work.
We really saw that but with an animation budget that’s off the charts.

love typing into the Tumblr search bar "anti" and then a thing I am neither a fan nor a hardcore hater of. Show me the drama
Shotout for The Menu for finally making me angry enough at restaurants to actually write this but GOD do I hate high class restaurants because they're an utter insult to cooking and food itself.
And you might think that I liked the chef but no I didn't and that's the whole point because even though he was aware of the emptiness of his clients and the emptiness of his fanatics and the utter emptiness of it all he still served small dishes, small dishes with almost no food and you might think why are small dishes bad well because food is not fucking supposed to be small it's not supposed to be consumed in one bite it's not supposed to be pretty it's supposed to FEED. food is supposed to FEED. It's not that it's artistic because big dishes big plates big food can be artistic it's not that it's complicated or that it has too many ingredients or steps because big food also has all of those things (or not, it doesn't matter here) it's the fact that is so utterly small it's INSULTING. Food is supposed to feed people that's why people have hunted have cultivated have cared since we were able to feed.
Because what was being served wasn't food and wasn't art it was emptiness, it was praise, it was fame and it was adoration and it was empty. And I can only think of all the animals and plants and fish that died for those dishes and instead of receiving purpose all they got was a spit to the face and a name with too many letters. For ages there have been sorrys, and thank yous in all languages and in all manners whispered to their ears as they died because humans understood that they were taking for a purpose, because they took to feed or to enjoy or to celebrate and those small dishes? are an insult to it all. A depraved performance that the rich and the famous take part in not even for their amusement because god knows they hate the food half of the time and the other half it's not even good.
The only part of the movie where we see actual passion put in cooking is when the chef makes a burger with fries. A normal burger with fries, the size a normal burger with fries should be. No weird minuscule additions worth a million, no weird presentations worth enough to buy 10 houses, just a regular burger. The only time where we see actual food, actual passion, is when we see food made to be ate, food made to feed. Food not in concept but in practice.

I want to be politically informed and educated but I also wanna have a good day and be in a good mood. Do you see my problem?
That one line where he says he liked it better when Lucy Gray was locked up in the Capitol so he would know where she was at all times......How do you read that and still think he's being humanized
Some of you read with your own eyes snow literally talking about owning Lucy Gray and still thought to yourselves “this book is using this love story to humanize snow and make him a good guy” hmmmm interesting…
stop getting married between the ages of 18-25 like wtf are you thinking…?
Dr Ignoreitandhopeitgoesaway does make some good points
I know a lot of people hate dan brown books but honestly I don't get why people need to trash talk them. They are no masterpieces but they are a fun read that gets you invested. Obviously fictional and no way realistic but just great to actually stay motivated to read. It doesn't need to be serious and deep reading all the time.
And then shitting on what he writes about?! Yeah if you don't like it move on and find a different author with a different style and genre if you think he writes nonsense. I think he actually does a lot of research for his books since they have a historical core even if it's embellished with lots of made up conspiracies. But then again if you can differentiate between reality and fiction and go with the flow it's a pleasurable read in my opinion.
Everyone should be allowed to read what they want and to not fear what others may say. That's true for anything really. From high fantasy to romance novels. Reading is reading and should be always looked upon as a good thing.
