Sometimes what you said was just harmful no matter who you are while saying it. Being part of the group being harmed doesn’t tell me that what you said was okay. It tells me you’ll throw yourself and the rest of your own community under the bus for a scrap of approval from the people who want you and everyone like you to get hit by a bus.
