I LOVE ELDRITCH HORROR WWX SO MUCH, like PLEASE mess him up even more! Lwj finds his creepiness attractive.
It's the lan genes
Idea;
Wei Wuxian returns from the burial mounds... changed.
Obviously he's changed; anyone would change after such an experience, not to mention his new proclivity for demonic cultivation.
But it's more than that. Lan Wangji can't put his finger on it, but there's something... off, about Wei Wuxian. No-one else seems willing to directly acknowledge it, but they feel it too.
Lan Wangji approaches Wei Wuxian as he digs up corpses for the army, and when Wei Wuxian stands to speak to him something deep in the corner of Lan Wangji's mind cries out, telling him that something isn't right, but he doesn't know why. Something about how Wei Wuxian stands, the movement of his body, seems wrong. But Lan Wangji can't put his finger on why.
Jaing Cheng is directing disciples as they prepare to march, and Wei Wuxian suddenly whispers in his ear from just behind, calling his name. He flinches and turns around to scold him for playing around, only... Wei Wuxian is over ten paces away. He's waving at Jiang Cheng, clearly having just called him, but he'd sounded so close. Jiang Cheng had felt his breath on his neck! No, he must be mistaken...
Nie Huaisang finds himself distracted when speaking with Wei Wuxian. Something doesn't seem right about his eyes, but he can't quite figure out what. The color? They're dark gray, but weren't they silver? Is there more pupil than normal? It something off about the shape? He finds that if he tries to focus on it, to figure out what it is that's bothering him, Wei Wuxian's features almost seem to blur; he can see the man clearly, but for some reason he can't pin down what about his eyes seems strange.
There are a million other stories. Sometimes his shadow doesn't match him. Maybe his voice holds a strange, echoing quality. Sometimes you can almost hear the cadence of an entirely different voice hidden in Wei Wuxian's tone. From the corner of their eyes, sometimes people see odd shapes on his figure; like an arm where it's not supposed to be, a shift in his skin, his hair blowing in the wind where there is no wind.
No too stories are the same, and no-one can actually describe what it is about Wei Wuxian that seems off. The only thing everyone can agree on, is that something is very, very strange about Wei Wuxian.
We're in the trenches man

Part IV
tightness around their eyes
pinched mouth
sour expression on their face
crossed arms
snorting angrily
turning their eyes upward
shaking their head
fast breathing
chest heaving
trembling of their hands
weak knees, giving in
tears flowing down their face uncontrollably
laughing while crying
not being able to stand still
tension leaving their body
shoulders dropping
standing still
opening mouth
slack jaw
not being able to speak correctly
slowed down breathing
wide eyes open
softening their gaze
staring unabashingly
vacant stare
looking down
turning their head away
cannot look at another person
putting their head into their hands
shaking their head
blushing
looking down
nervous smile
sharp intake of breath
quickening of breath
blinking rapidly
breaking eye contact
trying to busy their hands
playing with their hair
fidgeting with their fingers
opening mouth without speaking

This might be my favourite piece of star trek lore 😭😭 NOT ONLY was it Liberal arts but very SPECFIC arts...
Chekhov was a liberal arts major???
THIS IS STUNNING
I've yet to watch aos but honestly as a spirk shipper idrc abt spuhura cause for some reason star trek writers are obsessed with making Spock this bad boy, ladies man of sorts so whateverrr BUT from what I've seen aos just messed up uhura as a character in generalll! It's why I don't wanna watch aos like from what I've seen tos the show made in the 60s gave her more personality and whimsey etc than her 09 counterpart...
Iike ik 09 was the year where "Haha overly srs women in a group of boys" was the IT trope but cmon... don't do my girl dirty like that💔
Ramblings about Spuhura in AOS (this got a bit long)
I thought I didn't really mind Spuhura in AOS, but I think it really messes up the characterisation of Spock. They just didn't have a plan where to take that relationship. I feel like the extent to their thinking was well Uhura is hot and people will be surprised to see repressed Spock in a relationship, but they didn't want to flesh out her character. And they (rightfully) made Kirk and Spock have the most important relationship in the movies, so Uhura is supposed to be important to Spock, but we rarely feel the weight of that.
So in the end Spock kind of looks like a bad boyfriend, because his most important emotional scenes, the moments he loses his control are all with Kirk. Which is great because it reinforces Spirk, but Uhura just stays an afterthought and they could have done so much more with her character. I saw this interview where Zoe Saldana seemed glad that Uhura and Spock had broken up in Beyond because he had been her teacher and maybe she had outgrown that relationship. I mean even the actor thought more about this than the filmmakers!
And how does it reflect on Spock that he chose a relationship with his student? I know me too hadn't happened in 2009, but in TOS in the 60s they managed to make Kirk a compelling character by making him not sleep with his subordinates. And showing this impossibility to find personal happiness at his job as a struggle for him. Which makes him likeable.
I think they didn't understand what the relationship between Kirk and Spock really symbolizes, how it outweighs every other connection. They just wanted to build on something that already existed and took it for granted.
And yes, this is an alternate universe, but if you reboot Kirk and Spock, it needs to be done right. And isn't the beauty of it all that Spock learns about emotions from Kirk, this open minded, kind hearted man, that does not judge him. And for that you need to have Spock start in a place of relative isolation. There are alternate universes and then there is misunderstanding characters to a point you are losing their essence.
~They/them~, In many fandoms, I like art/writing sometimes i edit, certified lwj/wwx defender they did nothing wrong.
