DekuShield Week Day 5, 6 and 7!

I have high expectations for myself, but I don’t set them very firm because I know I’m likely to fail them.

Well, without further ado, day five, six and seven of DekuShield Week! Hope you enjoy and feedback is very much appreciated!

Also, sorry for not posting lately, there’s just been a lot going on with school and all so I couldn’t find the time. Anyway, I promise to make it up to you all!

Prompt 5- Family

“Oh my goodness! You must be Melissa!” Inko hurried over to Melissa and shook her hand, over-the-world about seeing her son’s lover for the first time. “Izuku has spoken so much about you!”

Melissa grinned and returned the handshake. “It’s such a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Midoriya.”

“Please, call me Inko.”

Inko lead Izuku and Melissa into to the kitchen, there was a banquet of food on their dinner table.

“I spent all day cooking; I was just so excited to meet you!”

“It looks amazing Inko, it smells good too!” Melissa sat down, along with Izuku, Inko scattered to bring them all drinks.

“Mom, let me help-”

“Don’t worry, Izuku. I’ve got it covered.”

She sat down. Izuku raised his glass, “to a so-far successful relationship!”

Melissa and Inko raises their glasses also. “Don’t jinx it,” warned Melissa, as the three of them clinked glasses.

“To a successful relationship!”

Apologies, all. I had severe fanfictioner’s block, so I had to “improvise” and cut it short.

Also, I figured I wouldn’t write about David (Melissa’s dad), because Deku already met him in the movie and what-not.

Anyway, on with prompt six!

Prompt 6- Crossover (With Toradora)

Izuku sighed, fiddling with his bangs. It wasn’t even the first day of school, yet he felt so uptight as if it was. Murmurs echoed up and down the hall as he dragged his feet to homeroom.

Mph.

He stopped dead in his tracks. What was that? He thought, he observed his surroundings from left to right.

He looked downward and saw a petite blond rubbing her forehead. There were even more murmurs from the other students around them. Some gasped in shock.

“The Plam-Top Tiger!”

“How do you think it’s gonna go down?”

“What’s gonna happen?”

“That’s the Palm-Top Tiger, idiot! She’s super dangerous!”

Izuku glanced at all the students, then back down and “Palm-Top Tiger.”

“Palm-Top Tiger, huh?” He said, she growled in annoyance. “Oh, I get it! It’s because you’re shor-”

Wham!

Izuku flew to the ground, pain throbbing in his face.

Yep, he thought, accepting his fate as he hit the floor with a thud and watched Palm-Top Tiger walk past him. Little did I know, this would be the start of just the beginning.

He watched her turn the corner.

The beginning of a lifetime.

“Melissa!”

Melissa glanced up from her laptop. “Yeah? What’s up?”

“Happy birthday!”

“Aw, Deku, you’re so sweet!” Izuku took a seat next to her and planted a light kiss on her cheek, a hint of blush dusted his face.

“You really didn’t have to,” she smiled.

“Melissa, you’re crazy. Of course, I do.”

Izuku held out his hand, inching it closer to Melissa.

“What are you doing, Deku?”

“Giving you your birthday present.”

“And what’s that?” Asked Melissa, placing her hand in his. Izuku smiled, then leaned in so his mouth was next to her ear.

“My hand in marriage.”

Day 6 - Free Day

“But going back to what I was saying earlier,” Melissa took a big gulp of her hot chocolate, “ when rain falls down from the clouds, it freezes due to the very cold temperature, given that it’s winter.”

“Huh...” Nejire also took a sip of her drink, “I guess you really do learn something new everyday.”

With the trigger of the cliché bell ding, the café doors opened for a new customer, and a chilling block of air wafted towards Melissa and Nejire, the both of them shivering in response.

“I’m not really used to this cold,” said Melissa, “it never snowed at I-Island.”

“Bummer.” Replied Nejire.

“Bummer?” Melissa perked up, “how?”

Nejire took another delightful sip of her beverage. “Well, for starters,” she began, “you can build a snowarmy.”

“A snowarmy?” Repeated Melissa, “don’t you mean a snowman?”

“No, a snowarmy.” Nejire took another sip, “they’re good company to have around, and are very handy in snowball fights.”

“How so?”

“They can be used as barriers,” explained Nejire, “and also as good suppliers.”

Melissa became hesitant, “please don’t tell that I’m thinking what you’re thinking.”

“Hm? How? Anyway, you can take a good chunk of snow out of them whenever you run out of the snow around you.”

“But they’re protecting you! Don’t you think that’s unfair for them?”

“It’s called a snowarmy for a reason. Every soldier dies while fighting for their country, or in this case, their ruler: me.” Nejire drained the rest of her drink, “I would go on with the list, but I think you get the point I’m trying to make.”

Melissa nodded, also finishing her drink. “That conversation we just had didn’t make sense at all.”

“It only doesn’t make sense to you, because you didn’t choose to understand.”

“Right...” Melissa started to zip on her jacket, “I don’t think that’s how it works, but okay.” Melissa and Nejire both made their way out of the café, the snow outside was falling ever-so-slowly.

“Oh, and another thing.”

Melissa looked at Nejire, “yeah? About what?”

“Y’know, the cool things about snow? Well, it isn’t really about snow, but about winter in general.”

“Go on...”

“Well, if your hands ever get cold, you can always hold someone’s hand to warm them.” Nejire took Melissa’s hand in hers.”Or in other words, I just gave myself an invitation to hold yours.”

Melissa smiled, “invitation? Who said anything about you needing an invitation to hold my hand?” Melissa gripped Nejire’s hand affectionately, “you’re always welcome to hold my hand, Neji.”

Hello and welcome to the official KariKatsu Week Post! This event was put together by so many lovely people in the KariBaku discord server, and will take place February 8th to February 14th, focusing on any and everything Kariage and Katsuki-centric!

For those unaware, Kariage is Katsuki’s old middle school friend with the curly undercut. A niche interest and a rarepair, true, but crazier things have been shipped, haven’t they?

For those curious or wanting to participate, this event will be very casual, mostly due to the time frame. No money will be made off the content created for the week, and all submissions are accepted from full-on chaptered fics and drabbles to sketches and fully rendered artworks. As long as Kariage and Katsuki are the main focus and relationship, whether romantic or platonic, then you’re good!

As for the prompts, here they are!

These are just places to start, though! Feel free to take these and run, tear them to shreds, or set them on fire and dance on the ashes. Stick to these prompts, create your own, or do a mix of both, as long as Kariage and Katsuki are front and center!
