Y’all… I thought the posters were funny… but it looks so tacky. Also I’m loving my recent style with the incorrect proportions 😋
ANYWAYS RAHHHHH BKDK 🧡💚
Midoriya had always been a mutterer. It was a habit developed through isolation and his parents. Since he had no one to talk to, he spoke to himself. The sound of talking was comforting even if the voice speaking was his own.
Another thing Midoriya got through his lifelong isolation was this “magical” ability to disassociate. His rejection from society “evolved” over the countless years of bullying, but that was beside the point. He was still pretty lonely even with the fan behavior from a select group of losers.
Midoriya would wake up and go to the bathroom to brush his teeth. Within seconds of brushing his teeth, Midoriya would be disassociating. Midoriya would be eating breakfast in the middle of spicy gossip. He’d be responding to his mother, but nope, his brain flipped a switch, and just like that he was blanking out. Of course, it didn't happen at the same time every day, but it wasn't uncommon.
Midoriya would go to school and the moment Bakugo opened his mouth Midoriya was out of it. Fortunately for him, it seemed that his body was on autopilot in school. He’d look down at his notebook to see notes he didn’t recall taking. One time he even highlighted specific lines in his textbook.
Midoriya knew it was a problem, but it never really happened when he was doing important tasks that he needed to focus on, so he didn't tell anyone. Unfortunately, he nearly fell down countless flights of stairs in front of his mother, so he was set up with a psychiatrist.
It never took long for Bakugo to notice changes in Midoriya’s behavior. Whenever he made fun of Midoriya or even shoved him occasionally, it was as if Midoriya was looking right through him.
Bakugo couldn’t tell if Midoriya was terrified of him or if he was trying to act tough and one-up Bakugo by pretending to be unfazed. The first time he noticed it was over four months ago.
In certain classes where their seating arrangement changed due to carefree teachers, Bakugo sat near his three lackeys. Hifumi was at the desk to his right and Tejio was in front of him.
Midoriya had already taken a seat on his left before the trio entered the classroom. Midoriya’s seat was by the window, allowing him to gaze out whenever he wanted to.
Bakugo was able to notice the strange behavior, but he never truly figured out what was going on with Midoriya. Midoriya would be writing his notes normally and, out of the blue, his expression would fall as that blank look washed over his face. He couldn’t understand what was happening since Midoriya was still writing away, gaze flicking to the board and then down to the paper to write.
Midoriya spent all of his time alone. He had no friends at school, and he always had everything with him, including his lunch. Midoriya would often stay in his seat for the duration of the break.
Bakugo and his lackeys would sometimes poke fun at him for it before they left for the cafeteria. Other times they’d come back early to study or get away from the crowd of people who were nothing more than nuisances to the three.
Midoriya usually wouldn’t react to them coming in. He would often be spotted with his head against the glass, looking at nothing in particular. Bakugo would never admit it, not even to himself, but he couldn’t help but be mesmerized by the sight.
The golden sunlight would shine on Midoriya and illuminate him. His black freckles seemed to glow a golden hue, and his pigmented skin seemed to relish the warm sunlight. Midoriya’s pale, chapped lips seemed to turn a bright red with the exposure to the sun.
Midoriya’s dark and dazed eyes would light up into a striking electric emerald green, matching the beautiful shade of green his eyelashes would turn as they occasionally fluttered. Bakugo could even see the line where the black patch of his hair turned green when it was usually hidden in his dark hair.
Every once in a while, Bakugo would see Midoriya snap back into whatever he was doing whether that be him writing notes, doing schoolwork, scrolling on his phone, writing his hero analysis, or him looking for something interesting going on outside the window. It seemed unreal the way life seemed to flash back into Midoriya's eyes.
Midoriya may not be exactly conscious of the world around him, but his subconscious was working to keep him afloat. It was a sight to see when he became responsive to things he was hearing or seeing.
Bakugo found it strange, but he’d never pass up a moment to peer at Midoriya without the worry of being caught. He'd convince himself he did it for a good reason after he'd catch himself staring.
On good days, Bakugo would go in early and open the window. He knew deep down why he did it, but how could he ever bring himself to say he wanted to watch the breeze gently blow against Midoriya’s face to watch the way the curls in his hair would sway.
One day, Midoriya had a boba milk tea. The drink was still sealed and the straw sitting next to the cup on the desk. Midoriya had his notes pulled out as he was planning to do schoolwork before homeroom started.
Bakugo had been watching Midoriya and saw the exact moment Midoriya's brain clocked out. It was normally pretty clear as his face fell as he was writing notes.
After a couple of minutes, Midoriya's gaze rose to the drink. He grabbed it and brought it away from the edge where it was sitting. Midoriya snatched the straw and raised it to stab through the lid.
Bakugo felt himself focus on the sight, never having seen Midoriya eat or drink while in a trance.
Thump.
There was a pause.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.
Now Tejio and Hifumi were looking.
Thump.
It didn’t go through, and Hifumi couldn’t help but snicker. For Bakugo, he was fully invested in seeing how this was going to go. Midoriya’s mind was obviously not functioning, but his body was.
Midoriya's body, not being able to accomplish his subconscious mind's goal, raised questions. After all, it was a new situation where Midoriya couldn’t do anything while being unresponsive.
Thump.
Midoriya suddenly threw the straw at the desk and flopped back in his seat. In a way, it seemed as if his body was visibly trying to pout. Tejio could not help but let out muffled laughter, trying not to lose it.
Midoriya leaned forward, taking the straw and even holding it up to his eyes. Midoriya seemed as if he was observing the straw. Bakugo knew very well not one thought was going through Midoriya’s head as messed with the sharp end of the straw. Fixing his grip on it, Midoriya sent it down one more time.
Thump.
Midoriya once again readjusted his grip on the straw and shifted in his seat before sending the straw down again.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump. Thump.
Thump.
Midoriya suddenly picked up the drink, sat it back at the corner of the desk, and brushed the straw off his papers before grabbing his pencil and writing as if nothing had happened.
Hifumi and Tejio lost it, laughing. Bakugo was baffled at the sight, wondering how Midoriya did all of that. He didn’t understand what was happening or why it happened. He’d ask about it, but that would reveal he paid attention and cared enough to ask. He’d rather die than let anyone, especially Deku, know either of those things.
Midoriya seemed to snap out of it a minute later as he took the drink and straw before piercing it easily. He rewarded himself with a drink as he continued the notes. Hifumi and Tejio never suspected a thing while Bakugo was left staring in confusion.
Bakugo knew something was up but decided to never ask. Eventually, he forced himself to stop opening the window and stopped himself from staring too much.
It seemed as if Bakugo wasn’t the only admirer as occasionally the window would be left open in the mornings before Midoriya would enter the classroom.
Midoriya was studying in the school's ginormous library. Midoriya always placed himself at a booth alongside the window, enjoying the sunlight while he studied.
Bakugo and his bullies had snuck in, planning on teasing Midoriya in the quiet area. They spotted him and sat down nearby to figure out how to proceed as the librarian would easily spot them. She was a passionate and stern woman who wouldn’t hesitate to put them all into detention.
Someone suddenly walked past the trio. They looked over to see it was their class president. He was tall, undeniably charming, always received the highest grades, had the best reputation, and was involved in everything going on in the school. His name was Noya Seika, preferring to be called Seika. His book bag was over his shoulder and his arms were holding a stack of papers.
Bakugo and his two followers watched as Seika approached the booth Midoriya was at. Midoriya was casually writing his notes, at peace with the silence.
Seika marched right up to the booth with his charming smile. Everything about his approach was sincere, not an ounce of pity visible in his determined eyes.
Midoriya seemed to notice someone standing by his booth and jumped, covering his mouth. “I am so sorry! Was I mumbling? I’ll be quiet!” panicked Midoriya, whispering only to be met with the sight of his class president.
“No need to apologize, you weren’t mumbling. I was wondering if I may sit with you?” asked Seika with a chuckle, shaking his head.
Midoriya looked at Seika suspiciously before deciding to just let him sit down. It would be extremely rude of him to reject Seika even if he was doing it for a dare or had ulterior motives.
“Oh! Yes, you can sit with me,” approved Midoriya, motioning for Seika to sit down.
Seika smiled, appreciating Midoriya letting him join him. Setting down the stack of papers, he rolled his shoulders in relief. Midoriya peered at him curiously, not used to ever being with good company. Seika sat his bag down and slid into the booth.
“Thanks again for letting me sit with you. I love the student council, but they make it hard to get the paperwork done for the upcoming festival,” ranted Seika, situating the stack of papers before him.
Midoriya, feeling accepted enough to be able to ask questions, decided to ask one of his own. “All of those are just for the festival? Why’d you choose the library out of all places to get stuff done?”
Seika looked at Midoriya, seemingly surprised. The bullies couldn’t understand what Seika was doing. They were already pissed they had gotten their chance taken away from them. It didn't help that Seika was now acting strange after seeking out Midoriya. Bakugo looked ready to break his book bag strap.
Seika tilted his head to the side, happy to answer. “Yep! I'm in charge of approving and disapproving every single class’ activity. Usually, every student in every class has an idea. So, we have about four classes per year and each class has about 20-24 students. I have to get through all of them a week prior. Oh, and about your second question, I figured you’d be here.”
Midoriya was nodding, listening to Seika until the random and strange words escaped his mouth.
I figured you’d be here.
Midoriya stared at Seika in disbelief, worried he hit his head or got struck with a quirk. “Seika-san? Are you okay?”
“Of course, I’m alright Midoriya. Why wouldn’t I be?” questioned Seika innocently.
Midoriya shook his head, fixing his notebook. “No reason. Well, I’ll let you get to your work.”
Seika slightly pouted, watching as Midoriya seemed to put all his focus back on his work. Seika stared for another moment before going to his work, flying through the papers.
The bullies had been snickering at the expressions of Midoriya. They had never seen him look so confused and worried for someone. What made it even better was how Midoriya’s concern was because someone wanted to be around him. Bakugo couldn’t help but be completely invested in the scene similar to a grandma watching a soap opera.
When the three saw the way Seika gazed at Midoriya lovingly, they all felt their faces drop.
The gray-haired bully, Hifumi, started, “No.”
Bakugo interjected his lackey’s moment with a helpful, “Fucking.”
“Way,” the brown-haired bully, Tejio, cut Bakugo off, finishing their little epiphany.
“Seika likes Deku.” The three said in unison.
They all watched like stalkers as the two worked together in comfortable silence. Bakugo saw a mindless haze coat Midoriya’s eyes as his head raised from the page he was staring at and looked out the window. Seika noticed the lack of Midoriya’s scribbling and looked up. Noticing he was in a trance, Seika glanced out the window to see nothing particularly interesting going on.
Looking back at Midoriya, Seika shamelessly took a moment to admire Midoriya. Bakugo couldn’t help but struggle to swallow the lump in his throat. He knew he had looked at Midoriya the exact same way, infatuated by the stunning view. He could see the way Seika’s grip on his pen just oh-so-slightly tightened as he stopped writing.
Eventually, Seika waved a hand in front of Midoriya’s face. Absolutely no response from Midoriya. Bakugo, Hifumi, and Tejio all freeze at the sight of Midoriya being completely out of it. Seika decided not to shout and tried to wave again. With no response again, he gently poked Midoriya’s hand. Midoriya instantly snapped out of it. Midoriya was quick to shoot his gaze over to be met with Seika’s kind expression.
“You were staring off Midoriya. You didn’t even respond to me waving,” explained Seika, looking at Midoriya in wonder.
Midoriya grinned, rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to ignore you. I have a dissociative disorder. It only ever really happens in school. I promise I wasn’t ignoring you.”
Seika smiled, waving his hand dismissively. “Nonsense. I assumed you were daydreaming so no hard feelings. Also—a dissociative disorder?”
It seemed to finally click for Bakugo. The feeling of dread slowly creeped into his chest. The Hifumi and Tejio look flabbergasted, not knowing what a dissociative disorder is.
Midoriya nodded, looking at Seika uneasily. “Yeah, I was diagnosed with it after my mother took me to a doctor after an incident. It’s really frustrating.”
“Oh really? I’ve heard about it before, but I don’t know the details of how it works. Is it hard to focus?” pondered Seika.
Happy to explain his personal experience with the disorder, Midoriya twirled his pencil. “Well, mine is mild in terms of my mental state. Whenever I get triggered or induce it, my mind will lock me out of my body. My body just runs on its own. It causes disconnection and lack of continuity between my thoughts, memories, surroundings, and actions. I basically escape reality.”
Hifumi and Tejio let their eyes widen as their gazes full of shock met. They figured Midoriya was an antisocial loser. Now it was brought to their attention that this was because of a mental disorder that they probably caused. Bakugo seethed from where he was sitting. He couldn’t understand how he had been so blind. It was obvious it was disordered behavior. It was obvious Midoriya had been dissociating. He had been admiring Midoriya and observing that he never actually reflected or saw it as something that was burdening Midoriya.
“Woah, so like depersonalization disorder?”
“I mean… kind of. I’m not exactly observing myself from outside my body and I never feel like I’m in a dream, but I do feel a disconnection or detachment from my body and thoughts,” elaborated Midoriya, not sure if he was making any sense.
Seika bowed his head, taking one of Midoriya’s hands in his two. “Thank you so much for sharing such personal information with me. I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable in any way. If I did, I humbly apologize for not realizing this may be something you are sensitive about.”
Midoriya felt his eyes widen, placing his free hand over Seika’s. “Oh no, please don’t apologize! You asked me about it kindly and respectfully. I wouldn’t have talked about it if I didn’t want to.”
Seika looked up at Midoriya relieved. “I’m glad. Still, I’m sorry you have to deal with that. Is it affecting your studies?”
“Not too much. I still get everything written down. All I have to do is just review the notes I wrote while dissociating. It’s a pain, but there's nothing else I can do,” sighed Midoriya, removing his hand to flip the page of his textbook.
Seika smiled, removing his two hands from Midoriya’s hand. “You are very studious.”
Midoriya smiled at his notes bitterly. “Well, that's all I can do.”
Seika shook his head, looking at Midoriya adoringly. “I doubt that. I feel like you could do anything you put your mind to.”
Midoriya looked ready to argue but bit his cheek and nodded instead. “Thanks.”
Seika frowned, he had said the wrong thing and Midoriya settled for silence. That was the barrier he was determined to break. He didn’t want their dynamic to be the weak quirkless student who believed he’d be disciplined if he attempted to defend himself and the powerful authoritative student with a quirk who barely had to lift a finger to get Midoriya expelled. Although technically that’s what it already was.
Seika looked at Midoriya who buried himself in his book. “I’m sorry to disturb you, but why do you wear such a face? Do you not think you can achieve anything you put your mind to?”
Midoriya felt his eyes widen, looking up to meet Seika looking at him with such a strange look. Midoriya could sense anger, but none of it was directed at him. Midoriya could see a glint of desire and swallowed hard.
“Oh, it’s not that Seika-san. I’m just not used to uhh…,” trailed off Midoriya, fumbling to come up with an excuse or any kind of response.
“No, don’t feel pressured to answer. I was just worried I had upset you,” confessed Seika, once again stunning Midoriya.
Midoriya looked at Seika and smiled kindly at him, tilting his head gently. “Don’t worry, you haven’t upset me.”
Seika felt his posture straighten, looking at Midoriya lovingly.
Bakugo was quick to move, he wasn’t planning on letting this random extra waltz his way into Midoriya’s life. The end of the school year was rapidly approaching, and he was not going to have Seika be an irritating memory.
“Deku.”
Midoriya jumped but looked up to where Bakugo was standing. “Kacchan?”
Bakugo swallowed his pride and decided to use his only excuse to hang out with Midoriya without it sounding like it was his idea. “The old hag has been bugging me and wants you and Inko to visit soon.”
Midoriya perked up, all the attention that had once been Seika’s was gone. “Oh, of course! I’ll let Mom know.”
“Whatever. Now get the hell out of here, all the clubs left already,” demanded Bakugo, pulling out one toxic tactic to separate Midoriya from a potential friend or lover.
Midoriya smiled, rising from his seat. “Oh, you’re right. Thanks for letting me know Kacchan. Seika, I’ll be taking my leave.”
Seika waved Midoriya off with a disappointed expression. “See you around Midoriya.”
Bakugo walked back over to where his lackeys were with a wide smile. Hifumi had watched the entire encounter with a dropped jaw. Tejio was holding back laughter, enjoying the look on Seika’s face.
“No way you just did that,” snickered Tejio.
Hifumi nodded his head in approval. “While I’m impressed Midoriya listened to you, I’m even more shocked you didn’t bother looking at Seika.”
Bakugo shrugged. “I didn’t have to look. I sent him the message that I had Midoriya wrapped around my finger.”
“You’re evil dude,” sighed Hifumi.
Bruh I wrote this back in 2022 and found this deep in the google docs sorry if it's trash, but I honestly kinda like it even two years later
Mina was devilishly tapping her fingers together as she stared at Midoriya. “Sorry, but you lost the bet.”
“I didn’t even agree to the bet,” argued Midoriya nervously, not recalling Mina even stating it was a bet.
“Nonsense,” hushed Mina, rising from where she was sitting to grab her phone that was currently charging.
Midoriya groaned from where he was sitting. The sound caught the attention of Uraraka who was returning to the common room from filling up her water bottle. “Deku? What’s wrong?”
Midoriya looked up at Uraraka in despair. “It’s Mina.”
“What is she up to this time,” remarked Uraraka with an amused grin.
“She’s forcing me to do something because I lost a bet I never agreed to,” explained Midoriya weakly, sinking into the couch in despair. When it came to Mina, nothing could be done once she had an idea.
Uraraka nodded, sitting down next to Midoriya. “I’m sure it won’t be that bad. Besides, it’s not like she can force you to do anything outside the dorms.”
Relaxing a bit at the reminder it was storming outside, Midoriya took a sip out of his water bottle. “You’re right. It can’t be that bad right? She’ll probably force me to play a little prank on someone or something.”
“Probably, either that or she’ll make you do her homework,” laughed Uraraka, recalling how Mina once tried getting Momo to do her work but was forced to have a tutoring session instead.
Mina rushed back in with her phone and a bright smile. “I want you to recreate this!”
Midoriya raised a brow, letting Mina squish onto the couch with him and Uraraka. Mina had a video pulled up and it was some guy standing in heavy rain strutting, doing air splits, and backflips over music.
Uraraka couldn’t hold back her laugh. Mina immediately proved the both of them wrong when they assumed the dare would be her usual silly antics.
“I can’t do that! I’m going to fall! Besides, if anyone sees me out there-!” argued Midoriya in a panic, trying to do whatever it took to get out of this.
Mina shook her head and pressed a finger against Midoriya’s lips to silence him. “Nope. Look, I’ll be nice, and I won’t force you to wear the big fluffy coat and ripped jeans.”
Midoriya sighed in defeat, not seeing much harm in the dare when no lightning was outside. The only risk was him getting sick and he decided to set down some conditions of his own.
“Have a towel and warm tea prepared for me. If I end up getting sick you owe me katsudon until I’m recovered,” ordered Midoriya, willing to do the dare, but wanting to have some say in what happened.
Mina extended her deal with a wide smile. “Deal! Uraraka, would you be an angel and grab that stuff? I’m going to go out to record this!”
Midoriya wilted, forgetting that Mina loved having everything on her phone. He couldn’t blame her though, some of these simple funny moments were nice to look back on when things got rough. Uraraka smirked and threw herself up. “Fine, but I’m going to need that video for myself.”
Kirishima was curious about what was going on and approached Uraraka. “Hey, where are Mina and Midoriya heading off to?”
Uraraka crossed her arms with a grin. “Mina is forcing Midoriya to recreate some video out in the storm.”
“No way! I gotta see this!” laughed Kirishima, immediately pulling out his phone and texting one of his multiple group chats. He sent the quick message “Come down to the common room immediately, it's important,” to Kaminari, Sero, Bakugo, and Jiro.
Kaminari and Sero came down along with Sato, Ojiro, and Tokoyami. Jiro came down with Momo and Hagakure, and Bakugo came down alone. It seemed that Bakugo thought it was something serious because he practically exploded when he saw the rest of the class wasn’t there.
“What the hell Shitty Hair?” shouted Bakugo, immediately sending off some small explosions.
“Woah man, calm down! Everyone, follow me to the window!” instructed Kirishima, not trying to set Bakugo off even more.
It only took seconds for the group to understand why Kirishima told them to come down urgently. Mina and Midoriya were standing in the open field as rain was crashing down. Mina had her phone held up while Midoriya was doing mind-boggling flips toward her.
While Midoriya could do a perfect split, he had trained kicking enough that he could fake it. If he did an air split fast enough, no one would be able to tell his left leg didn’t perfectly come up all the way. When Midoriya reached Mina he managed to land his last flip without falling and went straight into a backflip.
Once Midoriya stuck the landing of his back flip he took in a quick breath, jumped into the air and shot his legs out, faking the split like a pro.
Mina collapsed to the ground, cackling. Midoriya crossed his arms and looked up at the sky that was dark and pouring down rain. Midoriya then looked down at Mina, said something, and suddenly Mina was sprinting back toward the dorm building.
Uraraka was already standing by the door with towels and warm tea waiting for them in the kitchen. Mina launched herself inside, the rain covering her face and mixing with her tears. “My phone!”
“Yeah, that’s my bad,” chuckled Midoriya, knowing that they had to retake the dance at least ten times before he got it right.
Walking further into the dorm, planning on going to the kitchen, the two froze when they saw the large group standing near the windows. Only the group was staring at them in disbelief and glee.
Midoriya bolted off before anyone could even ask him where he learned how to do any of that. Mina on the other hand didn’t stick around because she had to make sure her phone was okay. She couldn’t lose the video after just getting it!
Midoriya was fresh out of the shower when he texted Uraraka that he was sorry for not sticking around for the tea she made him. It seemed that Uraraka didn’t mind too much, even going as far as to say she’d reheat it and send someone up to deliver it to him.
Feeling bad and not wanting her to go out of her way to do something she didn’t have to, Midoriya frantically typed it wasn’t necessary and it was no big deal. A knock interrupted Midoriya’s guilt as he stared at the typing bubble from Uraraka. Rising from where he was sitting, Midoriya approached his door and pulled it open.
Bakugo stood in the doorway with a wide smirk. “So Izuku. Care to explain?”
Midoriya yelped, backing into his room. “Kacchan! What are you doing here?”
“Pink Cheeks. Now, tell me why you were out there performing like a goddamn acrobat,” demanded Bakugo, inviting himself in with two cups of tea.
“It’s really not as interesting as you may think. Mina told me I lost a bet and she dared me to recreate a video,” elaborate Midoriya swiftly, not wanting to beat around the bush when it came to Bakugo.
“Go figure. Why do you always manage to get wrapped up in her dumb schemes,” grumbled Bakugo, crashing onto Midoriya's bed.
Midoriya smiled a bit, looking at his desk where Bakugo managed to put down the tea without him noticing. “If I knew how, I wouldn't have been out there.”
Bakugo scoffed, staring at Midoriya where he was standing. “Where the hell did you learn how to do a split?”
“I can’t really do a split, but after using my legs so much I guess I got more flexible,” assumed Midoriya. He didn’t know how he managed to get so limber. He did his usual stretches to avoid injuries but didn’t go out of his way to work on flexibility.
“It sure as hell looked like a split to me,” argued Bakugo. It didn’t take a genius to see a true split.
Midoriya smiled, sitting next to Bakugo on the bed. “When the rain clears up we can head to the gym and see for sure.”
“Alright, just don’t cry when you find out I’m right,” professed Bakugo confidently, making a home on Midoriya’s bed.
“You’re an idiot,” laughed Midoriya, finally lying down next to Bakugo.
“Shut up!”
Dude I want these so bad but they only ship in Japan😭
BKDK BEARS
There was never a dull moment with class 2A. Sure, sometimes a normal day would be nice, but realistically all the teens were used to it. With everything that happened in their first year of UA and the first couple of months of their second year, most days were eventful in a non-life-threatening way.
There was a giant shift in the class dynamic. Sure, everyone was close, but the bond was incredibly close. It was safe to say class 2A turned into one giant family.
There were also new developments. For instance, romantic relationships bloomed. Kirishima and Mina were the first to announce their relationship. After seeing how fast their life can come to an end, they didn’t want to waste another moment worrying about being rejected or ruining a friendship.
Kaminari and Jiro followed shortly after. Kaminari had a revelation during the first war that the mere thought of Jiro brought him strength. They had been tip-toeing around their feelings, too wrapped up in the chaos surrounding them to address their feelings for one another.
The most anticipated relationship was between Bakugo and Midoriya. They went through hell together, both dying during the war. Only with a miracle did they both get successfully resuscitated and recover fully. Bakugo’s heart exploded and Deku suffocated from Gearshift. Both of their hearts completely stopped. Midoriya saw Bakugo’s dead body after being dragged away. Bakugo watched as Midoriya dropped dead when the fight was over.
The duo was in recovery for months, their bodies struggling to recover from overexerting their quirks to the point of death. Similar to the others, they soon realized that with the time they had left, they wanted to spend it together. They lived in a world where the other no longer existed, no matter how long or short they were dead. They never wanted to live in a world where the other didn’t exist.
The relationship was kept between the class and the teachers. No one else in the entire world knew. They were able to love one another in the privacy of the school.
Outside of UA, the entire class was celebrities for their part in the war. Society fell apart and was built back up again. Midoriya and Bakugo were recognized as the wonder duo. Deku Midoriya and Kacchan Bakugo. Hero Deku and Hero Dynamight.
Unfortunately, some adults should never be around kids, but they were. It was an average interview, but of course, things didn’t go to plan. The wonder duo was at another interview to discuss their lives and the aftermath of the war. Reporters were notorious for either being amazing or horrible. Unfortunately, the one the duo was dealing with was a bad one.
The girl was very clearly flirting with Midoriya and at one point tried feeling his abs underneath his hero suit. Midoriya froze, feeling beyond violated. Bakugo was fuming, not only pissed but jealous that some woman was touching Midoriya. One glance at Bakugo’s face was all it took for Midoriya to have the strength to defend himself on live television.
Slapping the woman's hand away while shoving her away, Midoriya spat, “Touch me again and I’ll put you through the fucking floor.”
Bakugo grabbed Midoriya by the forearm and pulled him away. “We are leaving nerd. This pervert isn’t to be trusted to keep her hands to herself.”
“Wait, please don’t go!” begged the woman, rushing over.
Midoriya turned his attention to her and did his best to not have a visible reaction. “Why would I stay?”
“I didn’t expect you to get upset. Let’s restart!” insisted the woman, bowing her head.
“As if hag,” scoffed Bakugo, pulling Midoriya impossible closer. “You haven’t even bothered to try and apologize and you’re blaming Deku for being uncomfortable when you are the one who tried to touch him like a freak.”
“You’re weird and I’d rather not answer any questions you have for me. Let’s go Kacchan,” agreed Midoriya, finally sending a glare to the entire crew.
As the adult was begging for them to say, the duo was rushing out of the room. They’d rather relax at the dorms than worry about the stupid interview. Bakugo pulled Midoriya close and bit his cheek as soon as they were on campus.
Midoriya yelped, but let Bakugo hold him close. “Kacchan?”
“That was hot as fuck Izuku,” complimented Bakugo, happy to watch Midoriya tell someone off.
Midoriya grinned, sinking his face into Bakugo’s chest, breathing in the familiar scent of caramel mixed with the faint smell of his cologne. “Only for Kacchan.”
Bakugo barked a laugh, fondly smacking the back of Midoriya’s head. “Hey! Save it for later.”
“Okay.” Midoriya bashfully grinned, releasing Bakugo. Suddenly recalling something, Midoriya cheered, “Let’s have Katsudon!”
Bakugo rolled his eyes but wasn’t going to argue. Midoriya surprised him with super spicy mapo tofu earlier that week. Midoriya even paid a visit to Fuyumi Todoroki to make it perfect. Their love language was every kind of love language. Acts of service, physical touch, words of affirmation, quality time, and receiving gifts.
When they entered the dorms, Aizawa was already waiting for them as the rest of their classmates were gathered in the common room. The duo were happily holding hands, excited about lunch. The sight of Aizawa waiting for them initially scared them, but soon relaxed remembering the interview happened.
“Are you okay Midoriya?” questioned Aizawa, hearing about what happened on the news.
“Yeah, I’m okay,” sighed Midoriya, letting go of Bakugo’s hand to get closer to Aizawa. “Just a bit shaken up.”
Aizawa nodded, fist-bumping Midoriya’s chest. “Don’t worry kid. I already have Nezu working with the company about what occurred. We are making sure that woman never has a job dealing with minors ever again.”
Bakugo grinned, stepping forward. “Good. Extra needs to learn her place. If Midoriya hadn’t done something I would’ve blasted her ass to space.”
Midoriya grinned, never feeling safer as Aizawa and Bakugo talked about the ways they wanted to keep him safe. Aizawa ended up following class 1A throughout the years with Nezu’s permission. Sure, Aizawa was the best at raising young heroes, but he needed his kids and his kids needed him.
Aizawa simply nodded at what Bakugo said and turned his attention back to Midoriya. “As long as you're okay kid. I’m proud of you for setting your boundaries.”
Midoriya grinned, feeling a secure hand on his waist. “Thank you. I was happy to make it clear I don’t tolerate unsolicited touch.”
Bakugo guided Midoriya to the kitchen attached to the common room only to hear the crowd rushing over. Uraraka practically tackled Midoriya as she screamed, “I’m so proud of you!”
Kaminari laughed, his arm hanging around Jiro’s shoulder. “Yeah, that was really fun to watch.”
Jiro grinned, nodding at the duo. “Watching Bakugo get all huffy and overprotective was hilarious.”
“I thought it was rather adorable. Besides, we were all freaking out when she touched Midoriya,” chuckled Momo with a nod and a fond smile on her face as she looked at an irritated Bakugo.
Todoroki held up his phone, pointing to where Aizawa was napping. “I told Aizawa about what happened so he could get the lady in trouble.”
Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh from where he and Uraraka were lying on the ground. “You guys are crazy.”
“Nah bro, what that lady did was unacceptable. We were all excited to watch the interview, but we were more excited to see you two put her in her place,” complimented Kirishima as he shook his head, walking over to where the group was starting to congregate.
“Honestly, what a nightmare,” sighed Mina, disgusted that a grown adult thought it was okay to touch a teenager like that on live television.
Midoriya nodded, allowing Bakugo to pull him up onto his feet. “Sure I was irritated, but honestly I wouldn’t have stood up for myself if it wasn’t for the fact I’m madly in love with Kacchan.”
Bakugo elbowed Midoriya, eyes narrowed despite the way his face was flushed a beautiful red. “You better be! I’m the best.”
“Kacchan is the best,” declared Midoriya, wearing a happy smile. “I’ll happily destroy anyone who tries to pull us apart.”
“Okay, calm down Freckles,” grumbled Bakugo, still flushed. He couldn’t deny that he liked it when Midoriya was all possessive. After a moment of silence, he mumbled, “Love you Izuku.”
Midoriya turned his body to crush Bakugo in a hug. “I love you too Kacchan!”
Class 2A was never going to let Bakugo hear the end of it.

Izuku Has An Older Brother
Hisashi Midoriya dead
Mild Manga Spoiler @ end
The Midoriya family was small. It was Izuku, Inko, Hisashi, and his older brother Haru. Haru had stopped going to school halfway through high school, needing to help pay the bills. Hisashi had gotten sick during his business trip in Germany and could no longer work. Inko went from being a stay at home mom, to working 40 hour weeks with paid overtime. Haru would be out working as well, helping to fill in the other expenses of the apartment and everyday necessities.
Izuku grew up taking care of Hisashi. Izuku would give him his baths, make him take his pills, put on his chapstick, and make sure his IV was working properly. When Izuku was in his first year of Junior High, Hisashi passed away. Inko never told anyone, but many people from Hisashi’s work came, both from Japan and from Germany. He had been highly respected and had been an incredible man. Izuku sobbed, missing school for a week. Inko had kept up with work, having to pay off debt. Haru continued working, but lowered the amount of time he was working to keep an eye on Izuku. Izuku spent most of his time wrapped up in Hisashi’s clothing, laying in the bed he spent almost every hour of every day in.
Izuku still cleaned the house, made them dinner for after work, and would even spend his free time teaching Haru the stuff he learned. Izuku would give Inko back massages, fix her tea, and cuddle her to let them mourn and push past their grief and loss. Haru would always watch Midoriya with sad eyes, seeing him wear the same shirts everyday. The shirts were basic and they were all bought from the clearance section in a random clothing store. He watched Midoriya buy the same red shoes every time he needed a new pair. They were the cheapest pair of shoes manufactured for quirkless people.
Izuku would sit there, all alone in the kitchen, finding online coupons for Haru to use since he cut back on work hours. Izuku would do every single free give away for All Might merchandise and would only ask for one poster or figure for his birthday. Inko and Haru would often cry, knowing how this was a lot for Izuku to deal with when he was only 12 years old. Nothing really got better when Izuku started experiencing severe bullying in school. He never told Haru or Inko, but they knew.
Izuku was in his second year of Junior High when Haru decided to surprise him. Haru planned to pick Izuku up from school and take him out to grab something to eat. It would just be Haru and Izuku since Inko switched shifts with someone and was working the night shift instead. Izuku had gotten out of school, phone held in his hand as he read an article about a villain attack. Bakugo and his lackeys weren’t too far behind Midoriya, stalking him like wild predators.
Haru waved at Izuku calling out. “Izuku!”
Izuku’s head snapped up from his phone. Spotting Haru, Izuku beamed at the sight of his brother. “Haru!”
The bullies immediately backed off. They were stunned to see Midoriya with an older guy who was definitely nearing the end of his teen years. Bakugo felt his blood boil, frustrated and confused at the presence of the unknown person. The other bullies were just shocked to see someone greet Midoriya happily.
Haru smiled, looking down at Midoriya fondly. “Mom switched shifts, we going out to eat tonight. I know it’s long overdue, but consider it your birthday dinner.”
Bakugo stilled a bit, confused on how Haru spoke to Izuku. He wasn’t sure if Haru was acting like he was Midoriya’s older brother or if they were actually brothers. Bakugo stalked closer casually, trying not to bring attention to him or his lackeys.
Izuku smiled, head tilting to the side. “Nonsense. I can cook us something a home. I just won a raffle the other day and got us two fresh briskets!” Izuku started rambling, getting excited. “We can have one tonight. I was planning on having some beef stock soup and enoki mushrooms with a garlic and scallion sauce! I could even save some for mom and we can drop it off at her work!”
Bakugo’s eyebrows narrowed with his eyes, growing irritated. Since when did Inko work? There was nothing wrong with her working, but since him and Izuku were in diapers, Inko always took care of Izuku and was a stay at home mom. On top of that, Midoriya was winning food raffles and talking about making a fancy meal? Since when did Izuku want to be a chef or focus on anything other than being a hero. The bullies were shocked by that part as well.
Haru frowned, looking at Midoriya with guilty eyes, ashamed of how Midoriya was so prone to saving money for the others sake. “No I was hoping we could go out and grab something together. I love your cooking and that sound amazing, but mom already took some leftovers yesterday to work and I saved up some money to treat you.”
Bakugo felt his eye twitch, hands growing sweaty.
“Money?”
He couldn’t understand why money was such an issue suddenly? It seemed that everything was perfect for Izuku financially. He always had All Might merchandise and his uniform was always in perfect condition despite the amount of them he personally had ruined. He didn’t know who this mystery guy was or why he wanted to take Izuku out on a late birthday dinner.
Izuku smiled, taking Haru’s hands gently. Most of the students had disappeared at this point, many already in their clubs or heading home or to hang out with friends. Bakugo and his lackeys pretended that they were not paying attention. Midoriya wasn’t facing them so as long as Haru didn’t grow suspicious then everything would’ve been fine.
Izuku had taken Haru’s hands gently and smiled. “Are you sure? I don’t need a birthday dinner… all I needed was to spend the day with you and mom. I don’t need you to go out of your way to do this for me.”
The group of bullies felt guilt creep in, uneasy with how Midoriya spoke.
Haru frowned, eyes whelming up slightly with tears at how gentle his younger brother was. “I’m sorry Izuku. I’m so sorry.”
Midoriya raised a hand to wipe Haru’s tears.
“Don’t apologize brother.”
The group instantly froze, finally noticing the faint freckles Haru must’ve also inherited from his father. They noticed the black hair that matched the black patches in Midoriya’s. Bakugo noticed his hair was similar to Inko’s, thick and straight. The boy was wearing a black dress shirt and some slacks, revealing his probably worked as a server at a restaurant. His eyes were tried, but he looked at Midoriya so adoringly that they would’ve mistaken the exhaustion for relief.
They all watched the older boy, now known as Midoriya’s brother, shiver under the kind touch of the boy they bullied.
“Brother… why are you always apologizing?” inquired Izuku.
“I… I don’t,” denied Haru sheepishly.
“Yes. You do. You and mother stare at me with apologetic eyes all the time. You use actions, not words, to say you are sorry,” stated Izuku firmly.
The brother felt his eyes widen, cheek heating up at the fact he had been caught. He found himself embarrassed, thinking he had tried to appear strong when Izuku saw through it all along.
Bakugo saw the expression of Haru and knew instantly that Izuku saw deeper into Haru than what Haru assumed he was capable of seeing. The other bullies watched, crouching to rest their legs, but listening at the same time. Bakugo wanted to know everything, he didn’t know why he didn’t know. Inko told Mitsuki everything and Mitsuki told everything she talked about to him and his father at dinner. Why did he not know about Haru? Why did he not know about the money? What else didn’t he know?
“Does being poor make us unhappy? If I can’t wear popular clothing or buy a new uniform, should people pity us?” questioned Midoriya, gently rubbing Haru’s cheek with concern.
Haru looked at Midoriya with widened eyes. Desperately wanting to tell Midoriya that yes, he was happy even though he was poor. Nobody had to pity them because of their circumstances. He wanted to let Midoriya know he deserved those things. Not that because of them being poor, they had to be miserable and appear miserable.
Bakugo on the other hand felt his heart stop. Not only was Midoriya struggling with money, but they were classified as poor. Not only that but he and the other bullies were astonished how well kept the uniform was. It looked perfect despite the amount of times they pushed him and made him scratch up the uniform or how they made him get stains on it, or the times where they’ve burnt it or spilled things on him. They couldn’t fathom the work he put in to not get a new one. They felt guilty, not only were the hurting Midoriya, but the entire family when they were financially distressed. They felt like the shit people they truly were.
They couldn’t do anything but look at Midoriya love and console his older brother, finally deciding to talk about the issues they most likely danced around.
“Are you so determined to blame someone that… that you blame our father from dying of illness?” softly persisted Izuku, asking gently in the worry of Haru being so torn up over what happened that his grief turned to anger.
Bakugo and the bullies felt as if their world shattered in the moment. The distraught look on Haru’s face matched the bullies as they felt like they had just recieved the biggest slap in the face.
Bakugo stood there is disbelief. Hisashi was dead, that’s why Inko was working and they were struggling for money. He didn’t know when Hisashi got sick, when he died, how Hisashi died. He didn’t even know if there was a funeral. This side of Midoriya’s life had been hidden so well it never once occurred to him something changed. The other bullies all unanimously agreed they would back off with Midoriya’s uniform.
“While I was taking care of him, bathing him, feeding him… he worked so hard… but it wasn’t enough. Nothing he could’ve done was enough. Even though the medicine was keeping the illness from developing, it weakened his kidneys and liver,” explained Midoriya, taking Haru’s hand again, squeezing them tightly.
Bakugo felt himself join the others crouching down as he was overwhelmed with even more information. They all exchanged a look, realizing how bad this was. Izuku was bullied during the day, taking care of his dying father at night. None of them could even begin to imagine how mentally challenging it must’ve been for him.
“We just have to accept it,” cooed Midoriya, looking down at Haru’s hands.
Haru felt his eyes water, amazed with his little brother’s beautiful maturity and innocence. I made the cold bitterness in his heart turn into a warm and sugary lightness. With Izuku’s words alone, he felt ready to accept how things were.
Midoriya looked up at his brother with tears falling from his eyes, his heart racing. “We’re only humans. We can’t just expect things to go the way we want.”
The group of bullies felt their eyes widen, listening to Midoriya in awe. His ability to push forward with pride and passion to take life head and heart first stunned them. They all knew if they had been put in his shoes, none of them would be handling it how he was. Hell, they weren’t even sure if they’d still be alive. Bakugo’s whole existence was based off of his quirk, without it, he’d have nothing. He never would admit it, but it was true. To hear Midoriya explain that he accepted life for what it is despite the odds being against him, was powerful.
Haru was frowning, beyond upset. It wasn’t toward Izuku, Inko, or Hisashi. It was toward himself. He had wallowed in self-pity and self-deprecating thoughts when he should’ve been pushing forward to smile and laugh. He should’ve been working harder, towards a brighter future that Hisashi would want them to go chase after. Izuku tended to his family because he wanted them to smile again, live comfortably in the comfort of being alive with one another.
“Whether or not you are happy… all of this is up to you. What matters in now. That your alive, you’re healthy, and that I’m here and mom’s here,” rationalized Izuku, trying to speak his heart, his voice, his thoughts and feelings.
One of the bullies nodded to himself, agreeing. Izuku was completely right. Haru had every right to focus on the past and reflect, but the past shouldn’t be controlling everything he does in the future. Haru and Inko were trying to live through the past and it wasn’t helping them or Izuku. From what they heard, Midoriya heart was pure despite the scars is bore. Bakugo felt the protectiveness he once felt as a young child. He felt that longing need to be the stronger one that would protect the meek kid Izuku was. The bullies didn’t feel the need to protect, but rather they felt respect. They all felt the strong vitality Midoriya possessed, and they respected it.
“Let’s push forward together, focus on what’s going to come! Yes, we must work hard and do things that we’d rather not worry or stress over… but we must fight for it!” Midoriya raised his voice as he spoke, finding himself growing emotional.
The life in Midoriya’s voice, the overwhelming emotions that couldn’t be easily defined, shook them to their core. They hadn’t ever heard Midoriya’s raise his voice, let alone sound defensive.
“So please, stop apologizing. You out of everyone I know should understand… I want someone to understand how I feel!” cried Midoriya.
The bullies felt their eyes widen. Out of all of the times they’ve seen Midoriya cry. They’ve never heard it. They’ve never listened to his voice break as he tried to finish his sentence despite his soul howling in despair. Bakugo knew things were going to change, he wouldn’t make it too obvious, but he was going to lay off. The bullies were more than willing to comply, using him being quirkless didn’t seem like justification for their actions after what they heard.
Haru felt his eyes widen, panicking. “Hey, hey, hey. I want to understand how you feel Izu. I can’t imagine what you had to go through taking care of dad alone. I can’t imagine what it felt like watching him die as you waited for someone to come help. I don’t understand your emotional connection… but I want you to have everything and more Izuku.”
Haru pulled Izuku into a tight hug, rubbing his cheek in Izuku’s wild curls and breathing in the wonderful scent of their 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. He clung to Izuku like a lifeline, rocking back and fourth. Midoriya hugged back, his whole body sinking into Haru.
“You deserve everything you want in life Izuku. I’m apologizing because I can’t offer you what you deserve. You don’t deserve anything you’ve been through.”
Izuku grumbled, smacking the back of Haru’s head. “Don’t worry about what I deserve. Focus on what I need. I need you and mom to smile and stop wallowing around. Let me do what I’ve been doing to help without having you two stare at me with sad eyes.”
The bullies all watched the two interact with grins. The sight of Haru being serious and wanting the best for Midoriya, only for him to get disciplined by his younger brother. It was laughable, but they remained quiet, pretending to just be worried about something else. Haru had acknowledged their presence, but didn’t think anything of it because they did appear to be on their phones and casually “talking”.
Midoriya pulled away and quickly dabbed away his tears. “Let’s grab some bubble tea and go home and grill some brisket? I don’t want to eat out… it gives me anxiety.”
Haru looked at Midoriya and his mood immediately lightens up. “Okay, let’s go. Wanna talk about your day at school?”
“School was stupid as always. How about you tell me how work went. I’m sure some crazy person made an interesting story,” deflected Izuku, quickly putting the focus off of him.
The bullies as sank with relief, glad Midoriya didn’t bring them up. They couldn’t help but be surprised nonetheless as he didn’t even show any sign his day was bad, giving a generic response like any teen would normally say. They couldn’t help but wonder if Midoriya never brought them up period.
Midoriya patted his brother on the cheek before Haru turned around to walk with Midoriya to the cheapest place to buy bubble tea.
The following day, Midoriya comes to school and rather being greeted by a punch, he only met with insults. Not once had Bakugo and his lackeys lay a finger on him since the beginning of the day to the moment Midoriya stepped into the comfort of his home. Midoriya noticed the way their words seemed to get caught on their tongue as they made snide comments and their usual stale remarks and insults. He noticed and wondered if they had a change of heart and a change of attitude. Maybe someone said something to them that made them think about their actions. Whatever it was, it made Midoriya smile to himself. All days after that, it was the same. His bullying became strictly verbal and he could live with that.
Time passed and nothing really changed until the fateful day the teacher purposefully told the class Midoriya wanted to go to UA. Bakugo lost his temper and proceeded to be just as awful of a person as he had been the previous yesr. The bullies even called him out for it, pointing out how he was far harsher than usual. Bakugo had burned Midoriya’s shoulder while death gripping it. He chased his physical attack with one of the worst things he could’ve ever said and proceeded to leave as if nothing had happened.
Midoriya got into UA anyways and made Bakugo eat his words. Bakugo didn’t understand how Midoriya magically got a quirk, but that was a confrontation for another time. It wouldn’t be until after the Paranormal Liberation War when Midoriya was in recovery that Bakugo finally met Haru one to one.
The first thing Bakugo did was bow down before Haru and Inko.
“I’m sorry.”
A/N: anyone notice the scene from Demon Slayer I used 😉
ALSO HOW DO YOU UNLIKE YOUR OWN POST???
nvm my shit was glitched
This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me… seeing this beauty 💕
Midoriya was thrilled to take Katsuma under his wing once he passed the UA entrance exam. UA High offered housing for those who didn’t have a place to stay, but anyone living at home could commute if they desired. Katsuma had no problem staying at the dorms, but his father had his reservations.
Katsuma's father recalled the young hero who saved his son. Reaching out to Midoriya, the father asked if Midoriya would be okay with hosting Katsuma while he attended UA High. Midoriya already had Kota staying in his place since he lived right next to UA and had no problem having another kid stay.
His apartment had felt very empty alone, so he appreciated the company.
Katsuma and Kota got along much to Midoriya’s joy. Kota saw a lot of Midoriya in Katsuma and took it upon himself to protect Katsuma no matter the costs. Katsuma was introduced to Eri through Kota and boom, a friend group was formed.
It wasn’t until a couple of months before their first year ended that Kota approached Midoriya to explain his worries about Katsuma’s girlfriend. The girl was from the business department.
According to Kota, the chick was trying to keep Katsuma away from him and Eri. That information wouldn’t be as concerning if it weren’t for the fact the girl would get angry if Katsuma talked to them.
Midoriya wasn't inexperienced in the dating world. Midoriya knew what kinds of people to stay away from romantically. He had been in many failed relationships, but most of the time it was because he knew his worth and what he wanted out of life.
Midoriya knew that the red light was blinking and the warning sirens were blaring. Kota's explanation was enough to concern Midoriya. Midoriya would kill for his children. There was no way he was going to let some grubby future Hero Commission worker hurt his baby.
Kota knew just how far Midoriya would go for those he cared about and was more than happy to throw the emotionally and verbally abusive girlfriend under the bus.
Unfortunately, Midoriya didn’t have to initiate the conversation because the following day Katsuma came home crying. Midoriya told Kota to give them a moment, not wanting to risk Katsuma hiding information because Kota was with them.
Kota and Katsuma got along, but sometimes embarrassing things happen in a relationship. Midoriya wasn't naive. After all, he went to UA High and his classmates were less than innocent when their third year at the school rolled around.
“Katsuma? What happened?” cooed Midoriya, letting the young teen rush into his arms.
“It’s Okamura," wept Katsuki, hiding his face in Midoriya's baggy shirt.
Midoriya tried to not sound aware of what was going on to get a full explanation. “Okamura? Your girlfriend? What did she do?”
“I was just talking to Shoji-sensei with Kota and Eri about your upcoming patrol. Okamura must have been watching and started screaming in my face about how I was hiding stuff from her and that I was a horrible boyfriend,” cried Katsuma, clearly distressed that he was screamed at for no reason.
Midoriya did everything in his power to not walk out of the home, tell the kid’s parents everything, and then tell Nezu to expel her. No one made his son cry, especially for no reason.
Midoriya let out a soft sigh before pulling back and cupping Katsuma’s wet face and using his thumbs to wipe away tears. “Has she done stuff like this before?”
“Yes, all the time. She won’t let me have any friends. She’s constantly trying to make me sneak out and spend the night,” revealed Katsuma, making it clear that Okamura isn’t respecting his boundaries or what he cares about.
Midoriya was becoming more worried than anything else. It was clear what Okamura was trying to pressure Katsuma into doing. Midoriya understood Katsuma was getting older and it wouldn’t be shocking if he was curious about sex. But, if Katsuma wasn’t interested in doing it and Okamura was trying to get Katsuma to do dangerous things even if he wasn’t interested, that was a serious problem.
“If she gets this angry at the little things, she will only get worse as time passes. This girl doesn’t respect the people you care about. She doesn’t value your space or privacy. She doesn’t care about your comfort. I’ll support whatever decision you make, but don’t expect me to allow her to step foot in this house because if I see her, she’ll be too scared to even look your way once I’m done talking to her,” said Midoriya in a scarily calm voice.
Katsuka weakly smiled, simply sinking into Midoriya’s touch and hiding his face into Midoriya's puffy sweater. “I’m scared to end things with her.”
“Don’t be. She’d be stupid to try messing with you. Having you under my wing, every hero in the school would be willing to die for you. Okamura would be expelled immediately as well. She's not fit to be a hero if she lashed out at you," reassured Midoriya, brushing Katsuma's bangs around to fluff them.
"You're right. I'll ask Eri and Kota to be nearby when I do it!" chirped Katsuma, feeling a lot better about getting himself out of a bad relationship.
Three days have passed since Katsuma ended his relationship with Okamura. The breakup was far from easy and peaceful. Eri had to step in when it sounded like Okamura was preparing to strike Katsuma. Kota had been waiting for the moment Okamura tried anything so he had permission to physically intervene.
After the breakup, Okamura wasn't backing down. It was clear she wasn't when Kota and Eri couldn't find Katsuma one day. When they were looking around, they soon realized they couldn't find Okamura either. Kota and Eri's calls went to voicemail when they attempted to call Katsuma.
Panicking, the duo ran to the teacher's lounge to help them find Katsuma. Nezu caught the drift of what was happening and quickly checked the cameras only to find Okamura forcefully dragging Katsuma to a vacant classroom.
Kota tried to beat the heroes to Okamura, but they got to the empty classroom first. Katsuma was unconscious and Okamura was caught red-handed restraining a beaten-up Katsuma to a chair. Heroes were sent to capture and restrain the teen.
None of the adults knew what to do. When it came to Midoriya, no one messed with his kids. When it came to children in general, Midoriya would happily destroy anyone who even tried to put a child in harm's way.
The adults were evenly split about telling Midoriya. Half wanted to fix the problem in privacy knowing Midoriya would raise hell. The other half wanted to immediately tell him so hell wasn’t raised upon them, there was no stopping Midoriya and he would find out any moment now.
While the adults were deciding what to do, Kota urgently called Midoriya.
"Izuku! Izuku!" shouted Kota, not waiting for Midoriya to greet him.
Deku, who was currently in the middle of capturing a villain alongside his hero partner Dynamight, froze at Kota's frantic tone. "Kota? What happened? What's going on?"
"It's Katsuma! Okamura-," started Kota, only to be cut off.
"I'm on my way," announced Midoriya in an eerily calm tone.
All Kota could do was smile as Midoriya ended the call abruptly. His dad was pissed and Okamura was going to wish she never met Katsuma when Midoriya was done with him.
Bakugo blasted the villain, watching the police force rush to capture the unconscious villain. Turning to Midoriya, Bakugo froze when he saw Midoriya's dark expression.
"Izuku? What the hell?" yelled Bakugo over the sirens.
"Something happened. I'm heading to UA. Right. Now," seethed Midoriya, shooting his gaze to his best friend.
"I'm coming with. You look like you're going to kill someone," remarked Bakugo, eager to see what was about to go down.
Midoriya chuckled to himself, freaking out Bakugo. "Oh, once I know what that dumb girl did, I just might."
Katsuma was in the nurse's office, currently getting his vitals checked since no one knew exactly what Okamura did to knock someone as strong as Katsuma out. The adults were still discussing their mode of action when Nezu revealed that Midoriya was here.
The adults were panicking, trying to figure out what they were going to tell the number one hero. Their panic only doubled when they found out the number two hero, Midoriya's hero partner, the one and only Bakugo Katsuki, was with him.
Kota and Eri were beside Bakugo as Midoriya took the lead. Midoriya entered the nurse's office, immediately tending to Katsuma. "I'm going to kill that little punk. I guess she is stupid enough to hurt one of my precious jewels."
Katsuma silently cried into Midoriya's chest, feeling safe in the presence of his guardian. "She... she."
Midoriya shushed Katsuma, seeing that Katsuma was not ready to talk about what happened. Turning to the new nurse, the pro-hero Healflame, Midoriya tried to remain kind.
"What did Okamura do?"
"From what I can tell, she failed to properly inject Katsuma with an unknown substance I'm getting tested now. Okamura also physically attacked Katsuma once she injected the substance into him, most likely the way Katsuma ended up unconscious. There will be some bruising on his head, wrists, and legs, but is fine otherwise."
Midoriya screamed at Nezu, Katsuma's teacher, and Okamura's teacher. The fact that Okamura wasn't in handcuffs only enhanced his rage.
"So you failed to protect my child, but you are now protecting a criminal? That monster practically kidnapped and assaulted my child in this school and you all are protecting her?" shrieked Midoriya, his face growing red from how angry he was.
Nezu bowed his head and sighed, "We can't do anything. Okamura's case depends on Katsuma."
"And you wanna know why you can't do anything? My son was knocked un-fucking-conscious!" Midoriya couldn't help but laugh in disbelief. "You know, after all the shit my class went through in our time here, you still manage to fail to protect children Nezu."
Nezu remained silent, staring at Midoriya in shock and hurt. Everyone in the room knew Midoriya hit where it hurt. No one could blame Midoriya because what he said was true.
Shoji rushed to bow before Midoriya. "I sincerely apologize for the harm I have caused Katsuma and I'm planning on apologizing to him personally. He mentioned Okamura was a bit on the crazy side, but I didn't know to the extent. I have failed your son and I promise to make it up to the both of you."
Midoriya smiled, patting Shoji's shoulder before giving it a tight squeeze. "The first thing you can do to make it up to me is to get that brat's parents here... now."
Shoji nodded, leaving the room to make the calls. Bakugo marched over and crossed his arms. "This is why you can't even break the top ten. If you paid attention and cared about your students, none of this shit would've happened."
Kota scoffed, "They didn't even seem to hurry when I told them to find Katsuma!"
"Yeah, they tried to tell us that we were being dramatic," ranted Eri, happy to call out the teacher's neglect.
Midoriya looked at Bakugo. "Kacchan."
"What nerd?"
"I need you to stop me if I can't hold back anymore."
Bakugo nodded, the only one equipped to stop Midoriya if he lost his cool. It wasn't often that Midoriya lost control of his emotions, but then again, Midoriya always struggled to control his heart when those he loved were hurt.
When Okamura's parents finally arrived, Midoriya guided them to a private room to discuss what happened. Midoriya genuinely believed that if he talked to the parents, they'd come to a resolution.
It didn't take long for Midoriya and Okamur's parents to disagree.
"Our precious daughter would never do that!" cried the girl's mother.
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, getting suspiciously calm. "Oh? So you want to play that game."
The woman wasn't having any of it. "How dare you insinuate our child was capable of harming Katsuma! She loves that boy with all her heart!"
"You're daughter may have loved my kid, but she had a horrible way of showing it. Your daughter is the reason why they broke up, she made my son cry. Your child is a demented lunatic! She assaulted my kid!" argued Midoriya, his composure slipping.
The woman gasped, pointing a finger at Midoriya. "You're crazy! I don't care if you're some hot-shot hero, you're the crazy one!"
"I don't care if protecting my son makes me crazy. And... just so you know, parent to parent, I don't care what you say anymore. I was willing to come to some kind of resolution, but that's over now. I won't let your criminal of a child get away with what she did and she will not be getting away with a lousy slap on the wrist. Her future is over," promised Midoriya heartlessly.
"You can't do this!" exploded the woman, her face bright red as panic settled in her gut.
"Oh, but I can, and I am more than happy to let you know that your daughter will never become a hero because I am going to get her banned from this school and all other hero schools. Your child is a villain and if she does manage to get away with this... I will make sure that the rest of her life is a hell she can't escape,” vowed Midoriya, his smile anything but welcoming.
Midoriya happily got up and left the horrified mom and neglectful dad in the room. Opening the door, Midoriya was met with Bakugo and Kota eavesdropping. Midoriya rolled his eyes at Bakugo's stunned expression.
"Damn Izuku. You should date me," suggested Bakugo, shooting his shot.
Kota fake gagged, offended. "Back off old man!"
Midoriya patted Bakugo's bicep. "Ask me later Kacchan. I'm in the middle of something."
"The middle of being a badass," complimented Kota, smiling at the memory of Midoriya giving those parents a piece of his mind.
Thankfully with Midoriya's power and status, Okamura was expelled and charged with assault even though most children don't ever get serious charges. The substance Okamura tried to inject Katsuma with was another piece of evidence that made it easy for Midoriya to get his way.
Katsuma had a quick recovery and his bond with Midoriya somehow managed to get even stronger. Kota and Eri also managed to get even closer to Katsuma, growing even more overprotective. Midoriya was happy to shelter and defend the kids who were put under his care.
No one fucked with Midoriya’s kids.
Many students in Midoriya’s class took an interest in music. Jiro knew how to play more than one instrument, not including her singing. Bakugo played the drums. Kaminari and Tokoyami played guitar. Momo was familiar with the keyboard. Midoriya found it awesome so many people had a little hobby on the side.
Midoriya had a point in his life where he had an endless list of hobbies. When he was at his lowest in middle school, he filled the void with countless activities. Midoriya did martial arts, wrote his own stories (mainly All Might fanfiction), hero analysis (quirk analysis), skateboarding, ice shaking, ran a hero blog, at-home yoga, and the list continued. Inko watched her son purse many different activities fondly, letting him figure out what he wanted to do with his life.
Even though Midoriya was seen as weak and pathetic, he was incredible at everything he did. Midoriya won ice skating competitions. Midoriya learned difficult skateboarding tricks. His hero blog blew up and was extremely popular. His hero analysis spanned over 13 books. Midoriya trained his body to handle more complex and taunting positions and poses in his yoga programs. Midoriya bumped up levels steadily in his martial art classes. Midoriya’s writing because popular as well, often being seen on accounts that recommended fan fiction.
Midoriya put one hundred and ten percent into everything he did. He wanted to prove to himself he wasn’t worthless. He wanted to prove that he was just as capable as anyone else to do any basic hobby. While being physical was always a good way for him to produce endorphins and boost his mood, Midoriya found one specific hobby capturing his attention the most.
Guitar.
There was something so exhilarating about it all. The freedom to play anything and everything. The sensation of memorizing which hand positions made which chords. The callous that grew on his fingers from constant playing. It was addictive. Midoriya would often head to a studio to mess around and get most of his practice in. Living in an apartment with thin walls meant playing instruments was forbidden.
Midoriya learned most things on his own and gained enough revenue from his competition winnings to buy his own guitar. It was a sexy instrument. As much as Midoriya hated to admit it, everything about the guitar reminded him of Bakugo. He remained in denial even as he paid for it in cash. Despite the sight of the guitar, Midoriya was in love with it for many other reasons.
Now with Midoriya being in U.A. and having all his time dedicated to hero work, he dropped almost all of his hobbies. He applied his ice skating training to his hero training, but didn’t skate and didn’t complete. Midoriya didn’t keep up with martial arts, focusing more on gymnastic-type moves in his fighting style. Midoriya stopped writing fan fiction, focusing mainly on his hero analysis. Midoriya stopped skateboarding, replacing that time with running and extra training.
Whenever class 1-A split up into the two groups for the school festival, Midoriya was dying to reveal he played guitar. Besides, he wasn’t coordinated when it came to dancing. It feel awkward to him unlike how he felt with executing fighting moves. Despite his desire to be a part of the band, he was thrown into the larger crowd of dancers. Thankfully, he was able to learn a dance routine very well because of his experience as an ice skater. It was still two completely different things, but using prior knowledge never failed to give him a push.
Time flew by and the war was over, the world was healing, and life somewhat went back to normal. Midoriya finally had the biggest weight fall off his shoulders and he could think about the little things again. They were in their second year with new dorm building and new room arrangements. It was no surprise Midoriya was on the same floor as Todoroki and Katsuki. He wasn’t complaining, he didn’t have to worry about Aoyama’s stalking or Mineta’s advances.
Midoriya also changed a lot because of the war. His room still had the big All Might poster from Sir Nighteye and couple figures, but almost everything else was packed away. He’d have a room dedicated to merchandise whenever he buys a house or rents and apartment, but keeping it in a safe place was the best for him.
One thing he did bring to the dorms from his room back at his mom’s apartment was his guitar. He did want to pick it back up. He had found himself longing for the callouses on his fingers to be caused by excessive guitar playing. The only awkward thing is he would probably disturb the people sleeping above him, below him, and beside him.
Midoriya looked at his guitar at a loss on how to play it in the dorm. He wasn’t about to rent out a studio so he could play it. Suddenly he realized he could just use headphones and felt like slapping himself in the face. Grabbing his amp and connecting it to his guitar, Midoriya then took his headphones and connected them to the amp. He could practice in peace.
As time passed, Midoriya found he finally felt more connected to his hobby. He purchased a customized Eraserhead guitar strap. Midoriya also had a Dynamite sticker, a Shoto sticker and an All Might sticker. Accessorizing is always fun. Finally the guitar was spunked-up a bit.
It was the weekend, more specifically the one day a week they got off at U.A. High. No one had any plans and it was supposed to be a relaxing day. Midoriya looked at his guitar and knew he was going to perfect the one cover he was working on. Midoriya moved out onto the small balcony they had with his guitar. The sun was warm and the breeze was chilling.
Midoriya had his amp on the lowest setting. Loud enough for him to hear, but still quiet enough to not disturb anyone. It was a different experience to not have his playing blast out his ear drums. Midoriya took a deep breath and started playing, enjoying himself.
The song she chose to play was fairly popular, but not in Japan. He heard the tune on social media. He followed a lot of heroes outside of Japan, since he was a fanboy. It was an edit of an American hero. The beautiful melody captured Midoriya’s attention. The song was Midoriya’s new obsession. It didn’t take long for him to master the song so he could play it without even looking at his finger placement.
Midoriya was able to play the bass part on his phone so he’d have the complete sound. He was no singer and he was far from good at English, but he could hum to his heart’s content. He swayed, letting the cords vibrate in his chest.
Todoroki and Bakugo were planning on doing some studying since exams were coming up. They decided inviting Midoriya would make sense as he was incredibly smart. They all had their own weak points and strong points. One persons strength could make up for the others weakness. They all equaled each other out.
They were used to walking right into his room unannounced so when Todoroki opened the door the two stilled at the sound of music. They made their way into the room and saw Midoriya out of his balcony with the guitar. He was humming, gently dancing to the music with closed eyes. He was clearly lost in the music, by the way he was acting.
Suddenly he stopped humming and started playing the best part of the song. His head bounced as he played, a joyful smile on his lips as he played. Midoriya mindlessly bounced to the beat with closed eyes. The sun glowed against his skin, mesmerizing, Bakugo and Todoroki.
The two had seen everything that Midoriya had gone through. Watching him dance and play the guitar with a real smile made their hearts pound in their chests.
Bakugo and Todoroki were knocked out of their daze with a shout. Midoriya had turned around and spotted the two, eyes wide. Initially his eyes had been filled with fear, but settled into relief. Danger sense hadn’t gone off so he didn’t expect anyone to magically be in the room.
“Kacchan. Shoto. Did I disturb you?” questioned Midoriya, worried he had been too loud.
Todoroki shook his head, still speechless. Bakugo was able to get over his shock and approached Midoriya. “Hell no. Where did you learn to play?”
Midoriya smiled, setting his guitar down and turning off the amp. “I mean I could play since I was in middle school, but I didn’t start playing seriously until lately.”
“Well you’re really good. You should’ve played for the school festival,” complimented Todoroki, sitting down on Midoriya’s bed.
Midoriya blushed, putting his equipment away. “Thank you. I’m still a bit rusty, but I hope to improve.”
Bakugo nodded, crossing his arms with an evil smirk. “Good, because I wanna see if you can keep up with my drumming.”
“Really!” gasped Midoriya, his jaw falling with excited eyes.
Todoroki stepped in before Bakugo barked out some nonsensical nonsense. “I’d like to listen to you play a lot more.”
Midoriya crashed onto the bed beside Todoroki, turning his head to his best friend. “Feel free to just come in and listen. I usually have my headphones on, but I can start playing out loud if you like it enough.”
Todoroki nodded, closing his eyes as he felt comfortable enough to nap. Midoriya smiled at the quiet confirmation and turned to Bakugo. “Kacchan, what did you need?”
“Studying,” stated Bakugo shortly, crushing Midoriya with his weight.
Midoriya sighed happily, snuggling into his side. “Okay. Exams are coming up pretty soon.”
The three all remained cuddled together, now enjoying the breeze coming in from Midoriya’s balcony. It was in moments like these that solidified the trio’s bond. They had already been inseparable, but in moments like these, nothing could break the unconditional love they had for one another.
