“Oh, you’re still so pretty.”
Midoriya knew the saying all too well. After all, it was said to him whenever his haircut came out too short or didn’t look right. He knew it didn’t make anything better, yet people constantly said it.
“Oh, you’re still so pretty.”
In junior high, his bullies decided it would be hilarious to drench Midoriya head to toe during lunch. They carelessly picked up a bucket of what they assumed was water and threw it on Midoriya. The whole lunchroom was laughing or ignoring the show when things went south.
Midoriya started screaming, wiping his eyes, and struggling to stand.
“It burns! It burns!”
Soon everyone realized that what Midoriya was been splashed with was not water. While the dumb bullies that pulled the prank were freaking out, others jumped into action. Bakugo had been in the lunch line and getting his food when Midoriya started screaming. Despite everyone assuming he couldn’t care less, he was the one to scoop Midoriya up.
While one of the students called 119 out of fear, a couple others had been trying to get handkerchiefs and napkins to help. Bakugo forced them away and rushed Midoriya to the nurse, freaking out that Midoriya was still wailing and struggling to keep his breathing calm. The nurse explained if the chemicals were harmful enough, Midoriya needed to be stripped down and thoroughly rinsed.
The curtain was drawn and Bakugo had to help Midoriya undress and get under the shower. Midoriya tilted his head upwards, more concerned with flushing his eyes. Bakugo was huffing and puffing. He was a bully, but this kind of physical violence was horrible. Whatever chemical that was been poured on Midoriya was already showing clear effects. His skin was enflamed and bright red.
Midoriya could barely stand, getting a bit wobbly. Bakugo was doing everything in his power to support Midoriya’s body weight and keep him stable. Bakugo also tried to help Midoriya control his breathing.
Once the ambulance arrived, Midoriya was taken off to the hospital as well as Bakugo. Bakugo only had mild pain in his arms and hands from where he’d been touching Midoriya and his clothes. He was still treated considering how bad Midoirya’s condition was.
Midoriya left Aldrea Junior High after the incident. Aldera Junior High in return got a bad reputation after the event occurred. Many students uploaded the video causing news stations to report the crime. The Midoriya family refused to respond to the reporters trying to get details on what went down or Midoriya’s current status.
The Bakugo family had visited Izuku many times. Inko was devastated, but beyond happy her pride and joy was alive and safe. Katsuki was still beyond pissed that his peers were so stupid and reckless. Mitsuki and Masaru kept bringing him really amazing meals in secret since the hospital food didn’t really have much he liked.
Izuku had permanent scarring from the intense 2nd-degree chemical burns. While most of his body had the bucket of strong chemicals splashed on him, there were some miracle spots where there was close to no damage. Of course, there still was a lot. The majority of his body was affected due to the chemicals seeping into his clothes.
Izuku was grateful for Katsuki. If he hadn’t stepped in, who knows what would’ve happened. Everyone in that school was a coward so they probably would’ve ran away out of the fear of being burned. Mitsuki and Inko both transferred their sons to a new school, giving them a fresh start.
Everyone left Izuku alone at the new school when people found out he was quirkless. That meant no bullies. He even made a could of “friends” but he saw them more as acquaintances. Bakugo of course rose to the top for his powerful quirk and being a new kid. Midoriya hid in the crowd, doing what he had to do.
Through the rest of Junior High and into his first year at U.A. High, the phrase that once didn’t hold any weight now felt like a punch to the gut.
“Don’t worry, I think you're handsome.”
“Your scars look so cool!”
“They are your battle scars!”
“They show you survived!”
“Oh, you’re still so pretty.”
Izuku hated people bringing up his scars just to tell him that it wasn’t too bad. It didn’t change anything. It didn't make his scars magically disappear. It didn’t change how he felt about his scars or what happened to him. It didn’t make him feel any better. If anything it made him feel worse.
The constant reminder of what Midoriya now had to deal with and that he was considered "flawed" to a certain extent was counterproductive. Why would a person point out what makes Midoriya different only to try and explain how he wasn't different? It was unnecessary and cruel to a degree. Constantly bringing up a topic and memory he didn’t want to always think about soon made Midoriya turn cold the moment people even started talking about appearance or whenever someone started their usual ramble.
Midoriya's arms were now littered with scars from using his quirk and he found some comfort in them. He may not have wanted them, but they stemmed from a place he could look back at fondly. His fingers were bent and scared from the sports festival when he helped Todoroki. His large and bright purple scar from fighting Muscular and saving Koota. Still, someone always found a way to bring up his chemical burns.
Whenever the dorms were built and the interviewer came to write a report, he took an interest in Midoriya. Not only because of his close relationship with All Might, but because of his past. After talking to the boy about it, Midoriya agreed to do a really small interview.
Soon after the man left and the article came to life, many were surprised to find out about Midoriya getting a personal interview. When the class all read through his experience and recovery journey, they stilled at one small section.
“I get so frustrated because rather than having a normal conversation with me, everyone brings up my scars. They point them out or make a comment only to immediately tell me something to try and make me feel better about a topic they brought up.”
“Oh? So it’s bugging you that people only see you for your scars. I understand how that may be frustrating, especially if they are one bringing up something you’d prefer to keep in the past,” agreed the reporter.
“Yes. It doesn’t do anything for me. It doesn’t make me feel better. It doesn’t erase what happened to me. It doesn’t change the fact I’d rather not have these burns all over my body. People don’t understand that “oh you're still so pretty” is a meaningless consolation. Just don’t mention my scars and I’ll be satisfied. They don't realize their "validation" is just them letting me know that all they see when they look at me is my scars.”
“Preach kid. I hope that your message will help remind people to be conscious of what they say to others who are experiencing something similar to you. Also, I’m sure everyone will be happy to hear you’re safe and healthy; Even though I’m sure everyone already knows you are doing well after seeing your performance at the sports festival.”
“I’m honestly doubtful. The sports festival is such a thrilling event! Everyone that participated was so hardworking to show their worth and had such amazing quirks! Something that happened years in the past wasn’t the focus,” rambled Midoriya, trying to deny his importance.
“You got me there kid. You and your classmates sure have gone through a lot since then,” noted the reporter.
“We sure have. I’m very proud of them and I’m so grateful for the friends I’ve made. They’re incredible and I hope that the world can see that,” declared Midoriya, clearly passionate about lifting up his classmates.
U.A. staff and students found themselves reading the article and being surprised. They didn't know Midoriya’s injury had been a big topic in the past. While they didn’t recall hearing about it, they probably had seen something about it before. It was easy to find. All you had to do was search up Midoriya’s name and it was all you saw.
News article after news article. News reports after news reports. Gossip channels posted video after video. The clip of Midoriya being assaulted was easy to find as well. So almost everyone watched as their close friend, student, or peer was drenched in chemicals. His screams would haunt them. Fortunately, some of the videos showed Bakugo running over revealing he had been the one to help.
Nonetheless, Midoriya made it very clear he did want people to form an opinion of him based on his appearance. He didn’t want pity. He made it very clear he didn’t want it brought up at all. They had all been meaninglessly consoling him on something he didn’t need to be consoled for. If anything it was a backhanded compliment at best.
They had been bringing up a topic that made Midoriya feel uncomfortable. They did all of that just to try and make him feel better about something he didn’t need to feel better about. Not once had they thought of how it would affect Midoriya. They had good intentions, but they should’ve minded their business unless he brought it up. They overstepped his boundaries and they felt beyond guilty about it.
Uraraka, Kirishima, Iida, Mina, Sato, Kaminari, Sero, and Ojiro were most guilty. Shoji, Tokoyami, and Kota knew better than to bring it up. Their situations were completely different considering their body alterations were from their quirk, but they still were very aware of how they felt when their mutations were brought up. They knew how painful hearing that mindless consolation was.
Aoyama, Tsuyu, Jiro, Hagakure, and Mineta had only ever consoled Midoriya when someone else around them had brought attention to it. They didn’t see where it was their business to bring it up, but then they felt obligated to say something when it was brought up. Momo on the other hand never once discussed it. She had noticed the scars, but just like how she was with Todoroki, she just kinda ignored them afterward. It was just how Midoriya looked. It didn’t warrant her input.
Todoroki and Midoriya had actually talked about their scars in private. Todoroki’s came from abuse. Midoriya’s came from bullying. They found a lot of peace from talking to someone else who'd gotten their scar in a similar situation. While the situation wasn’t able to be compared, not like it should be, they were still violent in nature. Todoroki’s mom gave him a freeze burn in an attempt to fix her pouring boiling water on his face. Midoriya’s bullies were stupid and didn’t think to make sure the bucket they grabbed was filled with water. No matter what lead to them being hurt, they still came out with scars.
Bakugo came to Midoriya’s dorm later to discuss what he said in the newspaper. He was irritated to find out that no one saw an issue in pointing out something that could possibly trigger Midoriya. After all, the scars clearly came from a traumatic experience and even the mention of the scars could make him relieve it.
Midoriya ranted a bit, getting worked up once thinking about it critically. The way Bakugo phrased things really put everyone’s behavior at face value. Bakugo enjoyed watching Midoriya get angry. Midoriya finally was doing something for himself; which was getting angry on his own behalf.
Midoriya received a lot of apologies. He wasn’t petty like Bakugo, so he accepted everyone’s apologies. All that mattered to him was that they learned their lesson and he wouldn’t have to hear them bring up his scars again.
Besides, he didn't need their pity or words of affirmation to know he was still beautiful. His scars had him look badass.
Little Goofy BkDk comic! I felt like drawing for the first time in forever today!
For Plot Reasons, Izuku's dating a random OC
I, Izuku Midoriya was the pushover nerd at Aldera Junior High. Pushover was an understatement, but I digress. I was bullied by close to everyone in this school, verbally that is. Physically, I was bullied by a trio I've known since I was a toddler.
For Midoriya, things had always been that way and from the looks of it, things would continue to be that way.
It wasn’t until Midoriya's 2nd year of Junior High that he came home one day to see his mother packing boxes. His dad was home and they were moving into a bigger house. They were far enough away that it was ideal for Midoriya to switch schools.
Midoriya had been through three major changes in one single day. A new home, a new school, and a new relationship with his Dad. Hisashi was overjoyed to be home, sitting at dinner and wanting to know everything he had missed while he was away for business. Midoriya was happy to talk, glad his Dad was back from Germany, and openly excited to be home.
Midoriya was overjoyed with the sudden lavish lifestyle. He and Inko had lived comfortably in their small apartment with their minimalistic life before. Midoriya had a larger room to fit more bookshelves and All Might merchandise. It was a very exciting discovery of Midoriya.
The best thing that had happened out of it all was Midoriya sat between Inko and Hisashi as they all huddled together on their gigantic lounging couch.
Midoriya started his new school and quickly gained the interest of everyone around him. Midoriya stayed quiet about his academic ability and interests. It was safer for him to be boring than to be targeted for his interests. This caused people to label him as the mysterious new kid.
Midoriya was quite fair and was relatively reserved and shy. It wasn’t until he got his first love confession that the majority of the guys assumed he was a girl. Midoriya couldn't blame them considering he never talked.
Midoriya had to unfortunately explain that he was a guy and that he was uninterested in dating. He had been asked out as a prank far too many times to allow himself to even consider accepting a confession.
Midoriya's attitude quickly got everyone: boys, girls, and genderqueer people to ask Midoriya out. People were desperate to see Midoriya chose someone. Everyone who asked genuinely liked Midoriya and wanted the chance to get to know him better.
Midoriya developed a friend group outside of school. Midoriya also, as usual, had new haters inside of school. It wasn't a concern of his considering he has the help of the staff and his peers to get him through the dumbasses who wanted to make him miserable.
It wasn’t until Midoriya was in the middle of a sleepover that he not only realized he liked feminine clothing, but he liked the rush the attention gave him. If he hadn't been dared to crossdress, he would've never known.
Midoriya grew more confident as he started dressing up more for school, putting on more “feminine” accessories and clothes. He tried all types of styles. Everyone loved to see what new ideas he had for outfit ideas.
Hisashi was very accepting of this new side of his son and even offered to take him shopping. Every Saturday the Midoriya's would go shopping and have a family day.
Popularity in school grew despite Midoriya's lack of friends. Midoriya had one single person he was close with. It was the class president Naito Matsuta. Everyone thought that the two were dating after months of the duo spending every second they could together.
What nobody knew was despite them being in a relationship, they wanted to try some things out and decided to have an "open" relationship.
They spent the most time together because of their responsibilities as President and Vice President of their class. It was only the occasional times when Midoriya was busy or Naito was busy that the two went to other people.
Midoriya outside of Naito, had found a person who craved their attention. The duo liked not having any strings attached as it made things easier.
What Midoriya wasn’t aware of was during some time in their time of going out occasionally, the guy had gotten into a relationship. The relationship he was in was not an open relationship and Midoriya was a side piece that the girlfriend never knew about.
When word got out, it blew up. Everyone accused Midoriya of being a home wrecker and that he was a whore. Naito heard the news and was quick to help clear the air. Naito explained they were dating, but had an open relationship to relieve additional stress.
Midoriya discussed that they had been meeting each other far longer than he had a girlfriend. Once everyone realized Midoriya was not at all to blame, they backed off and went after the boyfriend even though that's what they should've done from the start.
The guy must’ve convinced his girlfriend Midoriya was some crazy psychopath as the two remained together and the girl despised Midoriya. Midoriya didn’t see her as a threat as he maintained his high status, popularity, and position as Vice President.
Naito had grown more protective of Midoriya after the incident. The two quickly agreed to close their relationship, more than content with one another.
Now that people knew they had a chance, they persisted in asking Midoriya out and requesting a hookup. Midoriya continued to reject people and soon started explaining he wasn't in an open relationship because of the incident.
Gima had tried spreading rumors, but no one believed her. Midoriya’s old playtoy, Hiroto Toyozo, would still try to meet up. Inko and Hisashi didn’t know anything had been going on so they happily let Hiroto inside to wait in Midoriya’s room until he got home.
Izuku had called Naito sobbing and Hiroto was banned from the house. Hisashi almost killed Hiroto, but Inko stopped him before he could get his hands on the boy.
It wasn’t until Midoriya and Naito had to interact with the crazy girl that Midoriya saw her as a threat. She had this snide smirk and always had her gaze focused on Naito. Nonetheless, the duo remained unbothered.
There had been a competition going on all over Musutafu where aspiring directors were to write an play. Whoever wrote the best play would have their creation performed in front of all participating schools (only certain classes attended the show). It was a big deal, to say the least.
This prissy little bitch, Gima Erisa, the crazy girlfriend, had won. She was getting permission from the President and Vice President for some unknown reason. Naito was unimpressed, going to excuse her. Midoriya stopped him and challenged Gima.
“Why do you need our permission? If your play is appropriate, then there should be no reason or us to give you permission hmm?”
Gima felt her face pale, she had been caught. Midoriya knew if she made one wrong move and it hadn’t been approved, she could be expelled without question. Naito noticed this and smirked, resting a hand on Midoriya’s thigh and squeezing.
“Yes, there is no reason you should need approval. You will be representing our school so we have high expectations of your play Misa. Now leave, we have important matters to attend to.”
Their “important matter” was them giving each other their undivided attention for way too many minutes. They finished their paperwork shortly after.
Weeks passed and soon the play arrived. The participating schools arrived. It consisted of four schools. Midoriya’s school, Rebun Junior High, Katsuro Junior High, and then Aldera Junior High. The schools flooded the biggest theatre in the area and were all excited to be out of school for half the day.
As President and Vice President, Midoriya and Katsuro High School were seated in the front with the other school's Presidents and Vice Presidents. They had all met each other on several occasions for school fairs, academic competitions, sports, and other extracurricular activities.
They had all gotten along perfectly and became a close group of friends. They all knew about the situation revolving around Naito and Midoriya and were highly supportive through all of it. The President and Vice President of Aldera Junior High apologized for their past mistakes which were later forgiven.
The adult staff was in the back, they were the first line of defense if anything happened. Midoriya and Naito were called to the stage to give a quick rundown of what was happening, how they were amazed and proud of all participants, and thanked for the school’s cooperation for showing up.
Midoriya quickly went over safety and evacuation procedures in case of emergencies along with explaining the roles of the staff and them as Presidents and Vice Presidents in the case of emergencies.
Katsuki Bakugo’s eyes met Midoriya's figure and instantly felt himself freeze. He hadn’t seen or heard of Midoriya since Mitsuki told him that Midoriya moved.
Bakugo didn’t think Midoriya was still nearby when she said “moved” so he was pretty stunned to see him. Midoriya was in their school uniform which consisted of a grey collared shirt with a black vest, and a red pleated short skirt, with black tights.
Naito was wearing black trousers, a grey collared shirt, and a black blazer that had red accents. Their calm and kind aura was misleading considering they were the definition of a scary power couple. Midoriya’s confidence in being gender nonconforming and Naito's confidence to eye fuck him was everything.
They made their way down to their seats after receiving applause and regrouped with their friends. The play quickly started and Gima was on the stage.
It only took five minutes for Midoriya to realize what she was doing. It took ten minutes for the rest of Midoriya’s school to realize what was happening. Everyone else was left in the dark but was eating up the performance.
Midoriya and Naito were already agreeing that Gima would be expelled for how inappropriate the play was. The six others sitting with them were quick to agree, appalled at how low Gima stooped. It seemed that the performers were even caught off guard by the play.
“She’s going off script,” gasped one of the Presidents.
Midoriya’s nails dug into chair arms as they watched. He was trying to restrain himself and not go up there and claw Gima’s eyes out. The actors noticed what she was doing too and none were willing to cooperate. Gima slowly realized nothing was working how she hoped it would.
The aggressive behavior of her body language and voice had Midoriya on their feet.
At one point, she snapped at the actor who was in the role of Midoriya. “You home-wrecking bitch! If you could’ve just been satisfied with one man then none of this would’ve happened!”
Midoriya felt his eyes widen and his heart clenched in his chest. Naito looked at Midoriya in distress, wanting to make sure Midoriya wasn’t going to cry. All of the other presidents and vice presidents looked over all well, all worried for Midoriya.
What none of them expected was to see the look of humiliation and rage in Midoriya’s eyes. They all were now worried about the state Gima would be in once Midoriya was done with her.
It progressively got worse to where the actors started to actually argue and yell at one another. The crowd watched, mesmerized. No one knew this wasn’t supposed to be happening so this was spectacular acting in their eyes.
“You ruined… everything! You stupid slut!” shouted Gima, looking directly at Midoriya.
Unable to stop himself, he shouted back. “I’m the slut? You’re the fucking slut fish-lips!”
The group of his friends were all gasping and shaking Midoriya, cheering him on for defending himself. The crowd was confused. No one but the students at Midoriya’s school knew where to look to find the person who belonged to the pissed-off voice.
The majority of the crowd cheered for Midoriya, loving the scary side of their class's vice president. This got some others from the random schools to cheer as well.
Gima felt her eyes widen a bit, realizing there was no turning back. This performance would be her last after she’s expelled per request of both Midoriya, Naito, and the rest of the schools' presidents and vice presidents.
It wasn’t until Gima physically attacked the uncooperative actor who was supposed to dehumanize Midoriya as a person, that Midoriya snapped. Rising from his seat, at the side, Midoriya vocally hissed.
“That’s enough. This is ending now.”
Midoriya marched up the side steps of the stage, tossing off his heels swiftly with each step he went up. Gima noticed and started running. Midoriya made a straight beeline for her grabbing her by her collar and throwing her backwards.
The crowd roared in the section Midoriya’s school was in. The three remaining schools all felt their jaws drop at the sight of a vice president playing a part in the performance.
Bakugo and his two lackeys Hifumi and Tejio watched in amazement. Midoriya was confidently running on that stage, in a skirt, with an enraged expression. This was not the "Deku" they knew.
“Dude, I don’t think Deku’s acting,” whispered Hifumi excitedly.
“Deku looks fucking pissed,” laughed Tejio, enjoying this way too much.
Bakugo knew that look all too well. He had seen many occasions where Inko wore that haunting look of rage when her son got hurt. Midoriya wanted blood, and Bakugo wanted to see Midoriya get that.
The presidents and vice presidents were chanting, “Beat her ass! Beat her ass!”
The group of students from Midoriya’s school were also cheering on Midoriya. Many of them knew Midoriya wasn’t acting which resulted in their scream cheering. This amount of support directed towards Midoriya shocked all of Aldrea’s students.
They had never expected Midoriya to rise in popularity in a way that would influence a whole school. They couldn't be too surprised after the initial surprise to see he was the vice class president at his new school.
Midoriya looked at her in disgust as she scurried to her feet like a pathetic coward. She couldn’t face him, she knew she’d fail at wherever he tried to do. She got blocked by one of the actors and when she turned around to run, Midoriya was already there.
“Fuck you!”
Clap!
Midoriya had drawn his hand back and sent it flying forward into Gima’s face. Gima stumbled back from the force, immediately holding her face with the incredible sting that spread across her entire cheek.
Everyone gasped. Some people jumped and others went wild, scream-cheering and clapping at such an excellent performance.
Gima ran and Midoriya bolted after her, from what the audience could see, Midoriya tackled her to the ground. Midoriya held her to the ground while shouting at one of the people backstage to send out her understudy.
The group panicked, having no other choice but to freestyle everything as they weren’t willing to mock or insult their vice president.
Finally being free to do whatever they wanted and put their creativity to the test, actors went wild. No one could deny they were completely entertained. Still, despite the show put on before them, everyone was waiting for Midoriya to return.
Naito eventually got up from his seat, quickly getting out and searching for Midoriya. Midoriya’s black heels were still laying on the stage, evidence of the unknown fight. Midoriya had been in the back hall teaching Gima a lesson.
The both of them were roughed up, Gima had a slightly bruised eye and a busted lip. Midoriya had scratches across his cheek and skinned elbows. Gima had been crying when Midoriya settled on disciplining her.
They sat alone in the hallway as Midoriya explained everything that had happened. Midoriya even explained how her boyfriend had assaulted him barely over a month ago.
Midoriya explained the trauma she and her boyfriend had brought him when none of the situation was his fault. Gima broke down crying and Midoriya glared at her before breaking his streak of silence.
“You’re expelled and so is your boyfriend,” informed Midoriya swiftly, ending their talk. Gima threw her perfect record away for a boy who cheated on her.
Midoriya turned down the hall only to run into Naito. Naito rushed to Midoriya, holding him closely. Midoriya sank into the touch and cried, fed up with the situation. Naito teared up as well, feeling horrible for his significant other.
Naito cupped Midoriya’s face and kissed his cheeks, nose, forehead, his tears, and his closed eyes. Midoriya couldn’t help but laugh as he cried, cheeks glowing a light red as he was flustered and embarrassed.
Naito grinned, pulling Midoriya close again. “You did well. I stopped by the headmaster and explained that what happened wasn’t a part of the play and that the play was to humiliate you. She will be officially expelled not only for hurting you, but for risking tarnishing the school's reputation.”
Midoriya relaxed at the news, thanking him for informing the school’s headmaster of what was going on so he didn’t have to. Naito guided Midoriya to the bathroom to clean the scratches on Midoriya’s cheeks and to bandage the skinned elbows.
Midoriya quickly fixed himself up and made sure to dab his eyes with cold water to assure no one could see he had been crying.
Opening the doors to the auditorium, Midoriya was soon stopped by the headmaster. Before anything could happen, the headmaster whispered an apology to Midoriya for not doing more to prevent the issue from happening. Midoriya whispered back his gratitude for the apology and took Naito’s hand in his own.
The couple walked down the aisle back to their original seats. The group immediately huddled Midoriya, making sure he was okay in heavy silence. Midoriya let them all know he was okay and focused back on the completely unscripted performance.
The performance was a wreck. It had started genuinely well except for the fact the pay was written to make Midoriya look like a sex-obsessed home wrecker. Then it turned into an unhinged war with everyone fighting until Midoriya stepped in a smacked the shit out of Gima. Then the actors went completely freestyle and used the fight as a way to turn the issue into the plot into an enemy-to-lovers romance.
Midoriya squeezed Naito’s hand, glad it was all over.
The play quickly came to an end as two of the actors came together for the closing kiss. The curtains slowly closed and the audience cheered loudly, enjoying every second of what they had watched.
When Midoriya and Gima failed to come onto the stage for the performer's bow, most people grew suspicious of the fight. While they had no way to prove it, they got excited at the thought that what they had seen was an actual fight.
Midoriya was standing beside Naito. The duo was beside the headmaster as people left. They thanked everyone for coming and watching. Everyone in return thanked Midoriya, loving the actual entertainment.
Eventually Aldera Junior High was exiting and Midoriya continued to thank them, pretending as if he had never met any of them before. Bakugo stopped before the desk alongside the other two bullies.
“Deku.”
Midoriya raised his gaze to meet Bakugo’s eyes. Immediately growing embarrassed at the fact his bullies had seen him, Midoriya looked away.
“Kacchan.”
“Next time, punch 'em in the throat,” grumbled Bakugo, hands stuffed in his pocket.
Midoriya's eyes gazed up to see Bakugo, Tejio, and Hifumi. It was foreign to see them not showing any malice or judgment. Shoulders relaxing, Midoriya kindly smiled.
“There will not be next time as she is expelled,” chuckled Midoriya, enjoying the comment.
“Good.”
“Yeah! I could tell she was bad news from the start!” boasted Hifumi proudly as he crossed his arm.
Midoriya grinned, dusting off his uniform. “It was very unprofessional of me, but I had to defend myself and keep some of my dignity.”
“It was so badass dude!” declared Tejio while shaking a fist with a puffed chest.
Bakugo narrowed his eyes at the two before looking back at Midoriya. “Nice to see you are doing something useful for once. Also, come by sometime the old hag misses you.”
“Tell Aunty I’ll swing by sometime. I’m sure I can get a ride.”
Naito wrapped an arm around Midoriya’s shoulder, grinning. “I’ll drop you off one day after our duties.”
“That would be wonderful!”
Bakugo glanced over at Naito and couldn't help but feel relieved to know that Midoriya made some good friends. Midoriya could read Bakugo's expression and grinned, glad to know Bakugo cared. Naito couldn’t help but be nervous as Bakugo was a hella intimidating guy.
“Bye loser,” huffed Bakugo, suddenly turning away and heading out of the school.
“Bye Kacchan,” sighed Midoriya, rolling his eyes.
Hifumi rushed past, quickly waving to Midoriya. “Bye, dude.”
“See you,” murmured Tejio, his cheeks a little flushed from embarrassment.
Naito nearly collapsed, shooting his gaze at Midoriya. “That blond guy is scary. How do you know him?”
“Our parents are close friends. I’ve known him since I was a little kid. His growth spurt served him well,” noted Midoriya, seeing Bakugo was taking his training seriously.
Midoriya and Naito stayed together all the way through Junior High. Things were a little different in their third year when Midoriya started training with All Might but had to keep it a secret. Midoriya was taken the bus to visit Bakugo but got attacked by the sludge villain on his way. Then he talked to All Might, got rejected by his idol, and ended up saving Bakugo from the same villain.
Izuku knew it was a lot of traveling, but he would go over to Musutafu every morning to train at the Takoba Beach Park with All Might. Hisashi was very approving considering Midoriya explaining he was training with a pro hero, but had to keep it private for safety reasons.
Once Midoriya got into UA High and was busy with training and school, things with Naito naturally fizzled out. It was too stressful of a time for the both of them to be in a relationship. Midoriya was obviously sad, but it wasn’t like Naito disappeared from his life.
Midoriya gained a lot of confidence after moving schools so Midoriya wasn’t insecure about his placement in U.A. High. Midoriya made a lot of friends and had a good reputation. Sometimes Midoriya’s sassiness would come out whenever he was dealing with Bakugo or was in the middle of a villain attack.
Who would've thought that a video would leak halfway through his first year at U.A. High? It was the notorious battle between Midoriya and Gima. While Mina and Kaminari wanted the juicy details of what caused the fight. Iida and Uraraka were highly concerned about the video.
All Midoriya did was shrug with a smirk, shooting Bakugo a knowing look. “Had to tame a bitch.”
The connection with Voltron was horrible the team pointed it out and never picked up on Lance’s lack of response.
Lance saw an oncoming storm and there was something about it. Lance disconnected from Voltron. The team was screaming at him but he ignored them.
Lance felt the world spin and all his feelings would cause the storm to crack and boom. It was worse than something you’d find on earth. The team landed and ran after Lance.
Lance took of his helmet tear falling as he spun and stood in an open field and spun grabbing his head screaming and the team was running after him and the whole storm went inside him and everything was perfect for a tic but when that tic was over Lance sobbed falling onto his hands and knees and the storm was tearing him apart from the inside out learning everything about him and what he held deep inside. The storm went out of him and took the side the team always saw and smiled at Lance who was crying and looked numb.
The figure grabbed Lance’s face, “Now you can’t hide what you bottle up.”
Lance laughed uncontrollably and the figure grew worried, “Stop it this instant.”
Lance sob laughed his head tilted up his jaw wide desperately crying and screaming.
The team ran to Lance and tried to touch him but Lance shuddered and slapped them away.
“Go away!”
Lance got up and the storm tried to get back into Lance and was confused when it couldn’t.
“Sorry storm you took my facade but now that that’s gone I’m occupied.”
Lance bit his lip the storm swirling just as Lance’s mind was racing and the storm reminded Lance of a heartbreaking memory that never fails to make him upset. The way Allura looked at Keith the way she always kinda leaned close to him.
Lance’s eyes grew dark and the figure smiled speaking to Lance, “Common Lance let it go and let loose they’ve wronged you give them their precious reward.”
Lance smiled tears falling and stood tall, “You know what?”
The figure smiled, “Yes?”
Lance chuckled, “You’re just a voice I already hear it’s more annoying than anything I’ve ever ignored. The voices now are just a nice loud slap in the face. Maybe you are right after all these years of fighting it I should just give in and do it.”
The figure smiled and Lance summoned out his Bayard and aimed it at himself. Hunk tackled Lance and Lance screamed the storm struck Hunk violently and Pidge fought back. Lance pulled out a bottle and chugged the contents and threw them at the ground and started running. The team followed him screaming at him. The storm went away as Lance slowly died.
Lance knew any moment he would drop dead and kept running then it happened he ran and felt his breathing slow and the corners of his vision grow black and his legs gave out and just like that he blacked out after that.
The group refused to accept Lance was gone and kept him in the pod. Lance fell out and didn’t budge and laid there.
Pidge tapped Lance and then soon checked for a pulse and got nothing.
Keith being cheesy thought about true loves kiss and deeply kissed Lance. He felt Lance’s lips were cold and he never knew he was crying but felt a tiny shaky breath escape from Lance.
Keith gasped as he pulled away looking at Lance.
Lance quickly gasped as he shot up coughing like crazy. Keith looked shook as fuck and touched his lips.
It worked?
Lance looked horrified and looked at his hands and rubbed his face. He looked slightly shocked he was there and looked at the face right by his. Keith’s.
Lance’s eyes narrowed and he got up and started walking out. Shiro raised a brow looking at Keith as if the look said what the fuck.
Keith ran after Lance. Lance ignored every comment Keith stated and Lance snapped.
“Oh I’m sorry the person I like is in love with someone else!”
Keith frowned, “Allura doesn’t even like me!”
Lance scoffed, “That’s not the person I’m worried about.”
Keith froze and Lance turned around and sped off Keith grabbed Lance’s arm, “Wait you like me?”
Lance had tears falling, “Jesus chri- Yes Keith I like you!”
Keith grabbed Lance’s collar tilting Lance’s head up and kissed him roughly obviously inexperienced other than when he kissed Lance who was dead at the time. Lance shocked slowly kissed back wrapping his arms around Keith now had warm lips a soft expression decorated on his face.
Keith pulled back from Lance who was breathless, “I love you Lance, but next time remember I don’t even like girls.”
Lance smiled and sighed with relief still scoffing at Keith’s remark, “I love you too Keith.”
Keith dipped Lance and kissed him again.
Sure Lance’s depression, and suicidal tendencies wouldn’t go unspoken. Yet now he had some stability, maybe he’ll learn love isn’t dead. Maybe he’ll learn life is worth living.
Man Lance was in deep.
Midoriya was sitting on couch, wrapped up in a blanket as he read his online All Might comic. This was his usual routine as he waited for his mom to return home. Suddenly there was the knock on the door. Midoriya jumped up, assuming his mother got groceries on her way home and needed him to open the door.
Without bothering to look through the peephole, Midoriya threw open the door with a wide smile. “You’re back! Need me to help with-?”
Upon opening his eyes, he was met with a kind looking man standing beside what appeared to be his teenage son. Midoriya turned bright red, visibly embarrassed as he bowed.
“I apologize! What may I help you two with?”
The father brightly smiled as he introduced himself. “Don’t worry about it kid. We are your new neighbours. We moved into the apartment next door.”
“Oh! It is lovely meeting you! My name is Izuku Midoriya, I apologize but my mother is currently at work!”
The father smiled, happy with such a kind boy as his neighbour. “It’s alright! The names Takada, Takada Shirogane. This is my son Takada Ray.”
“Would you like to come in? I can get you water, tea, coffee, whatever you like. I can only imagine how tired you are from the whole moving process,” asked Midoriya kindly.
One thing led to another and the Midoriya’s and the Takada family became friends. They tended to have meals together and both of the single parents got along and their only children got along as well.
Takada and Midoriya soon became best friends despite their quirk status and the two were quick to generate a plan. Takada somehow became friends with Bakugo. Just like that, Midoriya and Takada slowly ruined Bakugo’s life piece by piece. They were happy; But all good things come to an end.
Midoriya was walking home with Takada, they casually talked like usual and joked about how stupid the bullies were. Midoriya suddenly got a call from Inko.
“Sorry Ray! My mom needs me for the night. I’ll see you tomorrow,” apologized Midoriya.
Takada seemed unnaturally relieved, looking at Midoriya with a smile. “Alright! See you tomorrow Izuku!”
Within fifteen minutes, Midoriya had gotten ready and left. One hour later, guests arrived at Takada’s hourse. Four hours later, Midoriya comes back home alongside someone interning at Inko’s work. The two were exhausted. Midoriya is met with the awful stench of alcohol, cigarettes, and the commotion inside Takada’s apartment.
The guy looked at Midoriya confused. “Are your neighbour’s hosting a party?”
“Yes, Ryu. They are,” hissed Midoriya angrily.
Ryu looked at Midoriya worriedly. “Hey, hey. What’s wrong?”
Midoriya wiped the tears of anger off his face. “What’s wrong is that my supposed friend is a backstabbing piece of shit.”
“Oh. Yeah no. No. You’re confronting this asshole. Do it in front of everybody. I’ll be with you,” reassured Ryu confidently.
Midoriya, feeling empowered by his newly made friends presence, stormed up to the door. Pounding on the door, Midoriya quickly crossed his arms and tapped his foot.
The door swung open to reveal a laughing Takada. “Hey, you got the drinks?”
“Are you drunk?” asked Midoriya disbelievingly.
Takada finally took the time to notice who was before him. As if all the alcohol he had drank suddenly disappeared, Takada’s face droped.
“Deku— Izuku— I... it’s not what it looks like,” backtracked Takada immediately, or tried to.
The party inside immediately stopped. The moment Deku’s name reached their ears, all attention was on the scene at the door.
“Oh god,” sighed Takada absentmindedly.
Midoriya smiled, the anger apparent in his eyes. “You dirty little liar.”
“I’m sorry! I can explain!” Takada urgently started.
“Oh, explain how you didn’t tell me you were having a party?” retorted Midoriya sassily.
Ryu nodded, backing up Midoriya. “You tell him Izuku!”
Takada, seeming to forget the entire group in his home behind him, tried explaining himself. “You know I couldn’t invite you! I had to pretend to hate you!”
Midoriya laughed, tears slowly forming in his eyes. “I didn’t say invite me! I said you never even told me! Pfff— buddy. You’re not pretending anymore. You’re two faced. A cold, and heartless, two faced bitch.”
Ryu noticed all the people inside watching in surprise. Ryu scoffed, turning his attention back to Midoriya.
Midoriya narrowed his eyes, deciding on mocking Takada. “Are you having an awesome time? Are you drinking awesome shooters and listening to awesome music, and sitting around and soaking up each others awesomeness?”
“You know what? You’re the one who made me like this! Just so you could use me for your childhood revenge,” argued Takada, drunk and panicking, desperate to defend himself.
Midoriya, amazed with Takada’s bullshit, raised his voice. “God! See, at least me and Bakugo know we’re mean. You try to act like you’re so innocent like— oh I used to live in America with all the money and the lavish lifestyle!”
Takada snapped, yelling at Midoriya. “You know it’s not my fault a useless, quirkless, shit like you is in love with me or something!”
There were multiple gasps heard from inside Takada’s apartment. Midoriya shouted in anger, royally pissed off.
“What?”
Ryu looked ready to murder, his eye twitching. “Oh no he did not!”
Midoriya stormed over to Takada and sent a hard punch into his nose. “Fuck you!”
Takada flew back from the force. He knew his nose was definitely broken. Midoriya wiped off his hand in disgust.
“See! That’s the thing with you bullies! You act like you’re the best but everyone fucking hates you! Like, Bakugo’s right hand. He dumped his girlfriend and guess what! He still doesn’t want you! So why are you still messing with them Takada?”
Looking at Midoriya in horror, Takada shook his head lost and mortified. Midoriya snapped, shouting out the thing dying to come out.
“I’ll tell you why! Because you are a bad person! You’re a bitch!”
The rest of the party all felt themselves gasp, genuinely surprised to see Midoriya so angry. Ryu still was glaring at Takada, beyond pissed with the performance the asshole made.
“I can’t believe I actually thought I had finally made a friend for the first time in my life,” breathed out Midoriya in defeat.
Takada looked up at Midoriya in horror. The weight of what just happened finally hit him. “Shit... shit, shit, shit. Izuku! Wait!”
Ryu suddenly stepped between the two, his glare harsh as he pushed Takada into the apartment and stepped in himself.
“Everyone in here! And I mean everyone. Fuck you. Izuku is the most hardworking and incredible person I’ve ever met! Not once had he needed a quirk to prove he was worth my time. You all are just assholes. Good luck having a future with the mindset you have you quirkist fucks.”
Walking over to Midoriya, Ryu gently ruffled his hair. “Let’s go. You’ll be staying the night at mine tonight. I don’t want you home alone right now.”
Midoriya nodded, wiping his snot and tears with his shirt sleeve. “Okay.”
Grabbing his things, Midoriya left his house to see Bakugo had been waiting for him, along with the two other bullies.
“Hey! Deku! The hell was that all about?” shouted Bakugo.
Midoriya turned around, wearing a wide smile. “Oh, so everything that’s suddenly been happening to you. I’m the cause of it.”
Bakugo felt his frown turn into a taunting smile. “What?”
Midoriya walked right up to Bakugo, wearing a matching smirk. “Katsuki, my love. There’s a new sherif in town.”
Suddenly planting a passionate kiss on Katsuki’s lips, Midoriya felt everyone watch him in fear. Midoriya walked away with a bored expression, heading over to Ryu who wore a shit-eating grin.
“Shit Izuku, you’re hella dope. Inko wasn’t joking when she said she raised a wild one,” commented Ryu casually.
Midoriya looked up at Ryu with innocent eyes. “Of course she did. I learned everything from her. Why do you think I hate almost every guy I meet?”
“I just thought you were always hungry.”
“Yeah... about that... no.”
“Right. Um, ready to go?”
“Oh. Yeah, I am.”
“Okay, let’s go then. I guess.”
“Mhmm.”
Midoriya awkwardly left with Ryu, leaving the now conflicted party behind. Takada was busy trying to figure out how to kick everyone out. The bullies were all staring with dropped jaws. Bakugo felt his face burn as the taste of Midoriya’s strawberry chapstick taunted him.
“Fucking Deku.”
Just when life seemed to be going upward for Midoriya, chaos had to ensue.
Midoriya was happy he got into UA High School. He was bullied for being a plain looking nerd all his life so at least he could say being a nerd got him into the best school in Japan. He convinced himself it was because he was perceived as an easy target and nothing they said held any weight.
So what if he had freckles? It didn’t matter that his hair was untamable and he had a babyface. It wasn’t like he was in control of his appearance.
Of course the same line of thinking didn’t apply to him being a bookworm. He couldn’t help it and he didn’t want to change a thing. He loved reading, studying, and growing smarter with each passing day. Education and knowledge was far more powerful than being popular.
None of that mattered once he entered the most prodigious school in all of Japan. Only the smartest people in the world got a chance to attend. Sure, a person may want to present themselves in the way they want to be perceived, but no one was getting into the school just because they were popular or they had status.
After their first round of exams passed, students' rankings were announced. Midoriya was ranked fourth in his class of twenty. He did his best, but he also focused on maintaining a social life and worked out daily.
Meanwhile Momo Yaoyorozu, number one, and Tenya Iida, number two, focused a lot more time on studying and less on other aspects of their life. Bakugo, who placed third, studied a lot, but also prioritized sleep.
It was a miracle Midoriya was so smart and it was a mystery to him how he managed to keep his rank at number four. He was always doing something and mainly studied enough to get by. He supposed he was gifted to a degree, but tried to avoid thinking of himself in such a way. It was disrespectful to his friends.
On the topic of friends, everyone in class 1-A loved Midoriya. He was passionate, charismatic, and humble. To many in the class, it was refreshing to talk to someone so goofy, but down to earth at the same time.
Within the first month of being at the school, Midoriya had bonded with everyone but Bakugo. That was to be expected.
Bakugo was Midoriya’s childhood rival. Ever since they were young, Bakugo has been insistent on making everything a competition. Midoriya didn’t mind, but he always wondered what made Bakugo so hateful toward him.
It was hard to swallow, but Midoriya knew the only reason he was bullied growing up was because of Bakugo. If Bakugo hadn’t been so cruel, his old classmates wouldn’t have targeted him. Still, Midoriya could have punched Bakugo in the face, but he wasn’t going to risk his record.
Uraraka was the first person Midoriya became friends with. They met the day of the entry exam. She stopped him from falling. The entrance exam consisted of two parts: a written exam and a practical section.
The practical section consisted of five intelligence based challenges a duo had to complete under a short time frame. Uraraka and Midoriya chose one another and he helped her pass when he carried the partner section of the exam. She made some great points, but the pressure of the challenges being timed frazzled her.
Todoroki was quiet and withdrawn. Midoriya was worried why he was so bitter and later helped him out in the middle of an important debate. Midoriya was stern, but genuine when he disciplined Todoroki on his attitude. The two were inseparable ever since.
Iida and Midoriya got along for multiple reasons. They were both academic scholars, they always seemed to help each other grow even during the moments when they butted heads. Midoriya even saved Iida when he was planning to use his skills to blackmail his brother's workplace when they unfairly fired Tensei.
Those were just three people in the class Midoriya bonded with. Midoriya also got along with Ojiro, Tokoyami, Tsuyu, Kirishima, and the rest of the long list.
Despite how popular Midoriya was, no one really knew about his hobbies. Midoriya was a comic book nerd and loved doing hero analysis. Many people knew he liked analyzing things, but he never specified what.
No one knew Midoriya worked out either. The school uniforms hid away each perfectly developed muscle he trained hard for. Midoriya spent two hours every day at the school's gym. UA High was a large boarding school so it made sense they had a bunch of random facilities.
Sure students could leave campus, but offering different options for the students was for their safety. While it was horrible, there were people who would attempt to rob the students. UA High did have a stigma that only rich people attended. At least that’s what the parents of the teens who didn’t pass would convince themselves.
There were a couple of students who regularly trained at the gym that Midoriya became friends with. Mirio Togata was the main person Midoriya talked to and he was a third year. Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, in class 1-B, was another person who Midoriya often saw at the gym, but they weren’t close.
Midoriya was minding his business, happily talking with Todoroki, Uraraka, and Kirishima in between classes. Suddenly someone came up to the group with a phone and a strange gadget.
“Midoriya!” shouted the random person with a chipper tone.
“Hello! What can I do for you?” questioned Midoriya, turning his attention to the mystery individual.
The girl with long periwinkle hair flashed a bright smile. “Mirio was telling me all about you and I just have to know your result!”
“Oh, you must be Nejire! What result are you talking about?” reiterated Midoriya, still confused about what she could want.
“Your grip strength. Mirio just bought this to track his progress and said he was curious about your score,” explained Nejire, holding up a grip strength hand trainer.
Midoriya flashed a smile, happily taking the instrument from Nejire. “Okay! Let me do this quickly.”
Uraraka, Kirishima, and Todoroki were confused. They recalled that Mirio was part of the big three, but they’d never met him before. The three were mainly shocked that Midoriya knew Mirio.
Kirishima pulled out his phone to record the exchange. The class may or may not have had a group chat without Midoriya in it to gush about everything he did. This was going to be one of the things they talked about.
Uraraka and Todoroki were busy watching Midoriya squeeze the grip strength hand trainer. Midoriya bent his elbow and squeezed tight, eyes closing and he tried to not grit his teeth too hard.
Letting out a sharp breath when he was done, he looked at it before turning it to Nejire. “A little over sixty kilograms!”
Nejire’s jaw dropped. Todoroki’s jaw dropped. Uraraka’s jaw dropped, Kirishima’s jaw dropped.
“Thank you! Gotta go,” shouted Nejire before bolting away in excitement.
“Of course!” called out Midoriya with urgency, a bit startled by her sudden evacuation.
Midoriya turned back to his friends, bowing. “Sorry for interrupting our conversation! Anyways, you were talking about Mina throwing a banana at Kaminari.”
Kirishima held up a hand, forcing Midoriya to pause. “Hold on dude. You have a grip strength of sixty kilograms! What the hell?”
“What? Is that bad?” asked Midoriya in a panic, worried he disappointed his friend.
Kirishima shook his head dramatically with wide eyes. “That’s super good! I’ve never met someone who’s even gotten close to the score you just got. You work out?”
“Yeah! I do cardio in the morning and I weight train two hours later in the day,” revealed Midoriya shyly. He didn’t think anyone would find that aspect of his life interesting.
“So that’s why you seem to disappear!” gasped Uraraka, connecting the dots. “I find it kind of amazing that you manage to dedicate two hours every day to working out.”
“Could you lift me?” asked Todoroki curiously, not bothering to try and hide his intentions.
Midoriya smiled, holding a thumbs up. “Yes! I can do it after school if you’d like.”
Todoroki nodded with a small grin. “Please.”
Kirishima jabbed a thumb to his chest as he shouted. “Me too!”
“Me three!” pitched in Uraraka, more than happy to be lifted like a princess.
A warmth flooded Midoriya as his friends showed interest in what he put a lot of effort into. Still the conversation made heat rush to his face. It wasn’t everyday he got this kind of attention.
Midoriya kept his promise, but the rest of class 1-A was quickly filled in. Bakugo was pissed by the news. He couldn’t believe Midoriya was somehow one step ahead of him. Marching to the gym, Bakugo could already tell it was empty except for Midoriya.
Walking into the large area filled with untouched equipment, Bakugo spotted Midoriya in the back. He made his way over, ready to shout and tease Midoriya when he was stopped in his tracks.
The sight in front of Bakugo was godly. Midoriya had a barbell with an insane amount of weight on it. Midoriya seemed unbothered as he back squatted the large amount of weight. Midoriya was wearing some gym shorts and a baggy tee shirt, but Bakugo could see enough.
When Midoriya squatted, he brought his knees over his toes. Midoriya also hit incredible depth with his butt just inches above the ground. Bakugo watched as Midoriya’s shorts rode up enough to show his leg muscles flexing. Midoriya was mainly training his quads so Bakugo got a good look at just how impressive the muscles were.
Bakugo couldn’t even feel mad about Midoriya’s muscles because it was clear Midoriya worked incredibly hard to get to this point. Still, Bakugo would find a way to poke fun at Midoriya.
When Midoriya racked the barbell, Bakugo stalked forward with a smile.
Midoriya noticed Bakugo and quickly slipped off his headphones. “Kacchan!”
“So the rumors are true. You are a meathead,” remarked Bakugo, smirking as he crossed his arms.
Midoriya sat down his headphones and grabbed his water. It was nearing the end of his workout so a break was greatly appreciated. “Rumors?”
Bakugo stopped a couple feet before Midoriya and rolled his eyes. “The extras were showing everyone videos of you lifting them and the grip strength shit.”
Midoriya’s hand rose to cover his face as his heart began pounding in his chest. “Oh god. They recorded that?”
“They sure as hell did Nerd.”
“This is so embarrassing. I don’t want people knowing I work out,” cried Midoriya, throwing his head back.
Bakugo raised a brow, crossing his arms. “The fuck… why not?”
Midoriya swallowed hard before sitting down on a bench. “It’s stupid. You’d make fun of me.”
“Probably, but I still want to know,” admitted Bakugo, walking to stand before Midoriya again.
“I’m insecure of my body. I always felt too skinny and that clothes fit me weird. So I started training to gain weight. I guess I’m still not satisfied and I’m worried everyone will start making assumptions or begin to have an opinion on my body,” rambled Midoriya, struggling to explain what exactly he was feeling and thinking.
Bakugo rolled his eyes before kicking Midoriya’s leg. “You’re an idiot.”
“Waa-chan!” yelped Midoriya as he threw his legs away from Bakugo’s direction.
“Why does anyone's opinion of your body matter? You’re already smarter than all those losers so you should be more worried about them taking advantage of your mind,” commented Bakugo, trying to process the fact Midoriya didn’t like his body.
Midoriya wilted where he was sitting, bowing his head as he rocked his feet back and forth on the heels before he sighed, “You’re right.”
Bakugo was quiet for a moment, already regretting what he was about to say. “Your body is fine the way it is and anyone would be jealous of your legs.”
“You think so? I always try to hide them,” confessed Midoriya, looking down at his muscular thighs.
“You shouldn’t. If I had a body like yours I’d show it off. If anyone has a problem with your body, that's a personal problem and has nothing to do with you,” argued Bakugo, getting irritated at the mere thought of someone picking on Midoriya for his body.
“That’s… really nice of you to say. Thank you, Kacchan. It means a lot, truly,” thanked Midoriya with a small, flattered smile as he stared up at Bakugo through his eyelashes.
Bakugo felt his cheeks heat up and he was quick to have another explosive outburst as he barked, “Shut it Deku! If you keep spending all your time training you’ll never be number one.”
Midoriya suddenly felt a little bold and teased Bakugo back. “It wouldn’t matter anyways, you’ll always be the best.”
“Damn right!” shouted Bakugo, quickly turning on his heel and leaving the gym. As he made his way to the door, his mind was racing.
No way in hell am I going to stay here and get all soft and cheesy for Deku of all people. Not a fucking chance.
Bakugo thought this to himself as he saved the pictures and videos he just took of Midoriya working out to his hidden folder. The groupchat could starve for once.
Bakugo may have gotten the privilege of stalking Midoriya in the gym, but everyone in class 1-A got the blessing of seeing Midoriya’s muscles. After Bakugo complimented Midoriya, Midoriya was given the confidence to wear shorts around the dorms.
Besides, he happily lifted Todoroki, Uraraka, and Kirishima outside all at once. The entire class was able to watch him activate a large portion of his impressive muscles without even seeming a bit overwhelmed by carrying three people. Many pictures were taken.
Uraraka, Todoroki, and Kirishima may or may not have set one of the pictures taken as their phone background.
“Wow, Midoriya’s legs are impressive,” commented Jiro one afternoon as she was eating yogurt.
“Your welcome,” grumbled Bakugo, before stuffing his face with curry.
Everyone in the kitchen shot their gaze to Bakugo before looking to where Midoriya was standing. Suddenly the kitchen was filled with countless Midoriya lovers shouting. “What!”
Midoriya smiled bashfully while Bakugo laughed at the rest of the group's frustration. Midoriya walked away, no longer hiding his smirk. He’ll never let a soul know he set the entire situation up.
That’s how you remain humble while establishing dominance.
