New Jersey-

The Garden

The StateHouse garden is probably among the best in the whole country. Containing every single state flower and regional based plants, it’s truly a sight to behold, but it wasn’t always like this.

The original garden was pitiful, pretty much every plant was dead and overall just ruined the backyard. When some of the states asked Gov why it was like this, his answer was that he had no idea and the states are free to do whatever with it. Jersey took this answer and ran with it.

He basically banned anyone from going to that part of the backyard, and would barely be seen during the following weeks, when he was seen he was covered in dirt and mud. Then he started taking states aside, asking them questions about their state flowers and native plants, if the state didn’t know Jersey sent them on a quest to find out (because really you should know this by now it’s your own stat-).

Some states started to get concerned that Jersey wasn’t getting any rest, they never saw him leave that area of the backyard, and when New York heard about this he dragged Jersey away and forced him to take care of himself.

By the time the garden was almost complete it had been 2 months.

When the states got to see the area for the first time they were blown away, everything was done in a way that made sure that it was not only done state by state, but also in a way that made sure every flower and plant had the correct conditions for them to thrive.

No one knew how he did it, but Jersey was able to make everything look cohesive while still feeling like every plant got the spotlight. It felt like he took every chaotic thing that made America America, and made it better and cohesive.

He showed them another thing as well, a food garden and greenhouse, the greenhouse was already there when the states moved in but had been in disrepair, and the food garden was Jersey’s little side project, despite the fact that it wasn’t little and was basically bigger than the main garden.

In the end the garden is the one outdoor space that the states can properly relax in without arguing with each other, and whether that’s because of the garden itself or just a little bit of magic, is up to you to decide.

Listen I ain’t gonna say that pollution is a problem, but I am going to say that we got so FUCKED by the Canadian wild fires, like it was real bad air and stuff. So when in doubt, blame Canada (or the West when that’s all on fire, seriously it allll just comes over here).

Wasn’t alive but 2001 sucked for like everyone duh, the sad thing is that a lot of people who died were from NJ, since a ton of people commute to NY. Obvi a ton more New Yorkens died that day but a shit ton of Jersians did as well….so you know…something something angst.

Also yes the forest one totally counts as angst, the woods aren’t obviously dangerous here since we only have Forest Puppies™️ and like foxes and coyotes, but lemme tell ya, them woods not only definitely haunted but there is probably people doing the big illegals out there. Like moonshiners or…idk cultests probably, that’s also ignoring the actually legal hunting lol.

FUCK ENGLAND, damn tea drinkers.

Idk if this counts as angst, but here’s a random hc: So like- NJ loves plants and nature and all that, so he also knows what herbs and weeds are good and that bring good health and could even help infected wounds. He also found this out from the amount of times he fcked off into the woods all alone and got hurt somehow.

……Okay so. I feel like he definitely watched like. Y’know. All the stuff that happened in 2001, as well as other things. He watched his brother and his brother’s city suffer. He wanted to tear his eyes away. But he couldn’t. He wishes he could’ve.

He definitely has some breathing issues. I’ve. I’ve decided that based off the pollution stereotypes.

It's my birthday today! Which I am happy about, I'm 17 which...not so happy about but whatever.

I don't really feel older, honestly I'm kind of just out of it. I suppose it doesn't really feel like my birthday much at all, that happens when you get older right? You feel it less and less? I don't know man I'm spitballin here.

I'm going swimming in a little while, which will be fun, hopefully we're getting OutBack since we haven't in forever and it's my birthday damn it. I originally wanted to go skating today but with me staying up all night and poppy needing to work it just didn't work out, maybe that's why I'm out of it, who knows (I sure don't).

After today the only thing I'm looking forward to is the beginning of the NHL pre-season because OH do I have plans for that AND the season it's self, it's gonna be real fun (so long as I keep up with it).

Anyway, y'all have a good rest of yer day, I'll have a good rest of my B-day, byeeee!!
