Lotus is a member of the Swamp Mask Triad. She's the daughter of Crookedjaw Chao, the leader of the Swamp Mask Triad, she, her father, and the gang lived in the Swamp which is in the outskirts of Republic City. At Autumn 175 AG, she was exploring her father's triad's territory until she spotted Mako, Wu, and Azula who were patrolling, she witnessed Wu fell into the water drowning after he lost his balance attempting to walk on a log.
She instinctively rushed through and dive into the water, she grabbed Wu and pulled him out then she waterbend the water out of Wu's mouth to give him air when he woke up he saw her and he asked is she angel, is he dead. She replied to him that she's not an angel and he's alive, Mako thanked Lotus for saving him. She replied by say you're welcome, she was about to leave until Wu stopped her and asked her what's her name, she replied that her name is Lotus.
Three days after Wu's rescue, she meets him again he thanked her again for saving him, She replied to the former prince that it was nothing and doesn't want to die. Wu asked what is her favorite color and what's her hobby, to her surprise she never thought that someone who she just met three days ago would ask her questions like that.
She asked him why and he answered that she saved him and wants to repay her by knowing her. She complied, and told him that her favorite color is green and her hobby is music.
Through days, weeks, she and Wu would visit the bayou where the fireflies are there and where the moon is shining. Wu showed Lotus his dance moves and Lotus taught him to sing to good and taught him the dance moves he never did. They began to fell in love.

They arrived at the fourth level as the elevator doors opened while Lucifer finishes his sentence "You're paranoid, sexist, and you make fun of the elderly" he said.
Adam exits the elevator before he turns to Lucifer "Those are just quirks" he protested.
