Some interesting little trivia of Ron Weasley

• Ron’s full name is Ronald Bilius Weasley, the direct translation of the name is ‘having the god’s power’ ‘anger’ ‘cunning’

•“Ronald” is a name that has its roots in Old Norse language from the name ‘Ragnvald’, it was the name of many old kings, probably this is where the‘Weasley is Our King’ were referenced from.

•Ron’s middle name Bilius came from his uncle Bilius, who was a very humorous and funny man before he went crazy and die because of seeing a Grim.

•Ron is a Pisces. He was born on March 1st (3.1). If you reverse the birth number it’s ‘13’, an ominous number( Maybe this is why he got poisoned on his birthday in HBP). And unlike Harry and Ginny whose represent number is ‘7’—the lucky number, favored by gods. Hermione whose represent number is ‘9’—a number that represents virtues. Ron is the sixth son of the family. ‘6’ represents ‘Satan/Lucifer’ ‘Devil’ ‘The Beast’. I think JKR did this to reverse the trope. A kid who was born on an unlucky day and with bad omens, who was least loved in the family, turned out to be a kind and loyal friend.

•Ron’s first wand is his brother, Charlie’s old wand. It’s an Ash wood wand with unicorn hair. He later got his own wand because his dad Arthur won a prize and bought him one. It’s an Willow wood wand with unicorn hair. What’s interesting is that it is also the same wand wood of Lily Potter. It is said that Willow wood wand will only choose wizards with great magic potential.

•Ron is probably the tallest student in golden trio era. Many times the books described him to have long legs and arms. Since adult Harry is like 180+cm in the books and Ron is a head taller than him. By the end of the series Ron probably reach the height of 190+cm.

I am nearly done with my slowest Prisoner of Azkaban reread in the world and I am, once again, upset at how many people in the fandom don’t like (or worse, fully hate on) Ron Weasley. He is SO GOOD. And he genuinely does the absolute most in the shrieking shack scene, holy shit. I’m talking falling down strategically on Sirius’ wand arm, “if you want to kill Harry you’ll have to kill us first” then DOUBLING DOWN “Did you hear what I said?” (Don’t even get me STARTED on how they tossed this line away to Hermione in the movie I am absolutely fuming), hexing Snape, volunteering IMMEDIATELY to CHAIN himself to a MASS MURDERER because he takes it as a personal affront that the pet rat he’s loved and cared for his entire childhood turned out to be a hideously evil human being. Did I mention he does all that with a severely broken leg?? Like he is white as a sheet, gripping Harry painfully just to stay upright, about to pass out at times and he STILL does everything in his power to protect his people. He is so so good I love him so much.

Like he is not actively hated and abused by Weasleys but he is left behind, ignored, neglected, accidentally forgotten

T-That’s it. That’s the entire post, really.

Do people really expect me to be normal and not fall for Roger when he literally looks like a full-course meal?

Like, I understand that he’s old and is one of the antagonists in the series but uhh… he’s really attractive if you think about it.

He may not be as youthful-looking as Claude, Anastacius or Felix since he probably looks his actual age the most, he has that… silver fox vibe you get from older guy characters, you know?

And I’m kinda digging that vibe from him.

Shame me all you want but I’m being honest with my attraction towards him. I mean, have you read the fanfics I wrote featuring him and Anastacius?

It’s too late to save me now. I am officially physically attracted to all the men in WMMAP, and that includes Roger obviously.

And I know for a fact that you guys at one point were questioning yourselves when he wore his glasses for the first time. Believe me, I’ve been there.

I… feel like before Duke Robane appeared, the silver fox lovers were just clinging onto this man and the thought of it makes me w h e e z e.

If you play computer games, I recommend you to try the game “Black Book” by Russian game studio “Morteshka”. The game was released a couple of days ago. It’s based on real Russian folklore of Perm region (and not just on tales about poor old Baba Yaga who for some reason always is evil in western interpretations :).

The game is about a Russian peasant girl who becomes a witch for the sake of saving her lover. In the game you will meet various Slavic spirits, talk with them, fight them and/or take them into service. The genre is a RPG/visual novel/card game (fights in the form of a card game).

Flaws:

1. The developers did not have a big budget. So that is why graphics don’t exist (models are funny). Still far landscapes are pleasant and atmospheric.

2. Some of the English-speaking gamers in Steam are talking that it’s difficult to understand and follow all the lore in the game. But still they like it so just be ready for tons of text about folklore, believes, terminology, religion stuff and etc.

Merits:

1. There are English subs and dubs (but I recommend Russian voices).

2. The game is based on the Russian folklore and a bit of Finno-Ugric (since Perm Region is also a home for Finno-Ugric people). There is a lot of information. If you interested in Russian folklore you MUST play it :)

3. It’s interesting and atmospheric. And that’s not just my opinion :)

4. You can meet demons who possess samovars, speaking demon-cats, depressed demons who is sad because their masters forgot them, demons who want to bring progress to common people, demons who torture sinners… and  you can play with all of them in the card game (well most of them). You can help common people or curse them. You can befriend a soldier with pyrophobia, a cat-domovoi, a speaking head… Why yall still don’t play it?
