again, israeli soldiers have invaded and launched brutal attacks against muslims worshipping inside the al-aqsa mosque - injuring children, women, and elderly with live bullets, tear gas, and grenades at innocent civilians worshipping in peace

every single ramadan this happens. every single year.

for those who aren’t muslim, please understand the significance of the timing and location. the al-aqsa mosque is one of the most holy sites in islam, and it’s currently ramadan, the holiest month of the year. it is intentional.

and this isn’t even getting into how many innocents have been killed since ramadan began, including children, elderly, and a disabled widow who supported her six children, now orphaned

i pray for a day when our holiest sites are respected and protected, and i pray for a day when the oppressed can spend their holiest days in peace and safety. i pray for an end to the occupation and it’s evil.

actually re joking about being ‘the piracy friend’. do yourself a favour and stop relying on tumblr masterlists that are full of broken links and dodgy websites and just bookmark r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH’s piracy wiki (backup).

it’s the most comprehensive resource i’ve ever encountered my life and it’s also got so much extra stuff like decent free vpns/antivirus/adblock, a massive list of free software for almost every purpose you can think of, AND a list of custom search engines that mean you can search every site at once or you’re looking for something more obscure (this is how i seem to always have a link to literally anything)

there’s also this rentry, which i can vouch for less because i don’t use it so much but does have info on installing cracked versions of the more popular antivirus programs if you don’t want to pay but also don’t want to trust the free options lol

im 17, and in the 2 years ive been traveling around from doctor to doctor, i have only been truly listened to about my pain and my experiences with hypermobility and comorbidities maybe three times. thats 3 times, 3 doctors, out of around 13 doctors.

ive been told, to my face, that a mobility aid would probably help with my pain and maybe even my fatigue, but that no one would want to prescribe me one or suggest one, because they "didnt want me to become dependent" and that im young so ill be fine if i just do my exercises.

i take 8 prescriptions just to stay afloat. i am only capable of doing things approximately 3 hours out of the 16 that im technically awake. im not about to do anything crazy anyways, i just want to have less pain.

being young should never be the reason to withhold some form of aid.

There is no age limit on chronic pain. Just because you do not like to think about children being in pain does not mean they do not exist. They deserve to be believed and they deserve access to pain management.

you cannot tell if an author is straight or cis by whether they write “good representation.”

if you don’t want anyone to have to out themselves to defend their “right” to write about queerness, then when you encounter a queer narrative or character you dislike, you have to smack down assumptions that the person who wrote it wasn’t queer.

i keep talking about this because i think it’s important; and it’s certainly not the death of criticism. you can read a text critically without making assumptions about the author’s identity. you can talk about why you don’t find a piece of representation meaningful to you, why you think it’s badly written or even offensive. but if you say that it is any of those things because the author is straight or cis, no matter how obvious that may seem to you, you are out of bounds. i don’t have to go far to find examples of authors who have received that “feedback” and had to say “i’m sorry if i didn’t get this right, but i am a member of the lgbtq community.” sometimes they only realized they were queer because they wrote those stories. and this is also true for a lot of actors who have played queer roles, who have been accused of “stealing” those roles or not acting them convincingly and authentically.

i’ve seen the damage that causes and to me it’s not a game that’s worth playing.

Bill that would add Indigenous languages teaching to all New Brunswick schools wins all-party support
All MLAs on legislative committee back bill proposed by Green Party's Megan Mitton

A bill that would require New Brunswick schools to teach Indigenous languages to all students has won unanimous support from a committee of MLAs.

Members from all four parties voted on Tuesday afternoon in favour of the bill, which was introduced last month by Green Party MLA Megan Mitton.

“There’s a long history of Indigenous languages being systematically excluded from our public school system,” Mitton said during the debate.

“This is an opportunity for the revitalization of Wabanaki languages in our public school system.”

The bill would add a requirement for the teaching of Indigenous languages to a section of the Education Act that already requires the teaching of Indigenous history and culture.
